Well sorry I disagree. One example in the Large Hardron Collider. She was kinda a cow to Leonard when she had a cold. In Maternal Congruence. She was pretty much a crappy girlfriend. Leonard's Dog died. And parents divorced. And did noting a gf should. My point of view was just simply. I believe that's always been Penny. No different to what she is now. I just don't simply agree with the notion Penny's snark back then is any worser, then it is now. That's Penny. It's always been a part of her character. My point was i think she has evolved in that department over the years. Her snark towards Leonard may have harshened over the years. Due to life wearing her down. So she projects onto Leonard. My point was her lvl of snark. At times has not changed. It's a constant. Edited December 21, 2016 by 3ku11

It is strange to be very fond of all characters and then there is Raj that has been writen in a way that had disapointed me. Well, maybe the problem is more about me as viewer than him as a character but these are my thoughts on the subject. It's not just you. I used to like Raj too. He was so sweet and cute at first. Then when he was drunk or drugged he became 'an ass all the time, you just don't hear it' which was disappointing. Once he'd put his speech problem behind him he gradually got worse. He's hardly made any contribution to storylines. Surely they could come up with something, if it's only some sessions with Dr Gallo to get him sorted out, to set him on the track to maturity and usefulness ? 14 minutes ago, Chrismo said: Don't know who the guy is but obviously someone else who doesn't know who Leonard or Penny is but knows Stuart? Perhaps whoever writes up episode 10x13 in March or thereabouts will write about the Lenny quarrel and make-up. As for stepping towards menopause, I never totally understood what exactly was so 'insulting' about Sheldon's reference to Amy's aging eggs in 9x01. If they wanted an insult I don't know why they couldn't have come up with a real one.
3ku11
TBH if Penny left Leonard for anyone (not going to happen). That Doesent make it soap operaish. When ppl say TbbT and Soap Opera. They are referring to its current format. That has clearly changed. Anyone heard of the show Rules of engagement? TbbT is so similar to that show now. Couples comedy. They have changed the show from a Science Type sitcom. With side stories of romance. So it wasent so in your face. So it was more proportioned. Ppl are right when they say Lenny was the main story. But they didn't take over. To a soap opera of two couples. To the point it's saturated. They have evolved Sheldon. But it's like because they have an in depth Sheldon now. They can go okay well it be ass hat Sheldon this week. Or sweet Sheldon. I can't suspend my disbelief anymore with this show. It's like a roller coaster. And I'm barley hanging onto the rails. I think it would be great. If final episode is this season. And Penny's pregnant. And they end the show in an opens ended kinda way. Lenny and the gang leave the apt. Lenny finds an Apt etc. Walk downstairs. And repairmen are fixing the elevator. End scene. Then like in movies. Scene right at end. Hot guy moves in. Abs two geeky chicks say Hi. That's how I would like it to end. Edited December 22, 2016 by 3ku11

All due respect to Raj, but I don't think that the problem is with you as a viewer, but rather the way he's being written and has been written for a long time. The soliloquy about how everybody have achieved so many things except for Raj, that we saw in the last episode sort of highlights the progression of his character. 5 hours ago, legacy99 said: They would have to come up with a new category for it Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk If they were to be nominated in the new category "Sitcoms that used to be good" I'm pretty sure they'd win every time Edited December 22, 2016 by Carlos
3ku11
Raj? Has anyone cared about him ever? It Doesent help the way he's written. But I can't say since 1x01. I've ever noticed he was ever their. Other then when he's being a douche. How I met your mother. Degenerated from a comedy to a drama by the end. TbbT had degenerated from an outstanding comedy. To a mediocre Soap Opera. Friends was like that too. Although it was never mediocre. Problem for me the writing shifted after season 6. So it's pointless going what if. It's done. I couldent care less if it ended this season. TBH it ended for me 7x24, from a creative stand point. From a money stand point. They could do this show for years. Ratings are still very good. As I guess theirs a certain part of the mainstream who are enjoying the narrative of "Sheldon becomes a real person". I'm just in the segment of ppl who are not enjoying it. I continue to watch. As I still enjoy Leonard and Penny as characters. Little scraps they get. But I HATE it's not an ensemble anymore. Msybe I've outgrown the show I don't know. But I have a feeling Season Ten could be the last. And tbh it's about time. Edited December 22, 2016 by 3ku11

It's not just you, Raj has made basically NO progress either personally or professionally in the last ten years. I know he discovered a planatoid and an asteroid but if you look at the number of both discovered since 2006 it's not a really big accomplishment besides being able to talk around women he has done nothing of note. He seemed kind of sweet at first but as Howard said "he's always an ass you just don't hear it" well his main progress has been moving up from quiet ass to complete douchebag he should get the ending the character deserves, alone in his apartment with cinnamon eating takeout in his underwear Edited December 22, 2016 by JE7

While they all have done things they aren't proud of none has ever hit anywhere near the lows Raj has while the others are basically good people who sometimes do unkind/bad things to each other Raj consistently does unkind/bad things to his friends and is occasionally a nice person. Raj's character unlike the others is CONSISTENTLY a self absorbed douchebag it has over the years become his defining characteristic this is not true of any other character. Even Sheldon at his worst seldom reaches the depths that Raj does. Raj would sell out his friends in a heartbeat for his own personal gain. When he first started dating Emily and Sheldon pointed out people entering a new relationship often lose friends his answer summed it up well. If she didn't like them they would get a Christmas card for a couple of years then they were dead to him. Some may say it was a throwaway line but it captures his priorities perfectly. rachelshamyfan
Bit of an obvious explanation into the not being an ensemble anymore The characters have grown from being single into relationships, it's then inevitable that they will therefore spend less time as a group together

Until some scientist invents an anti-aging medicine that makes actors look as though they're permanently under 30, growing up is going to happen to characters on any long-running television show that starts by being about how people in their twenties behave. The developments that are happening in TBBT are what Sheldon bewailed when he rebooted himself to 2003 - they begin by his friends meeting as a group for meals and games nights less and less often. It's true of all of us. One thing that keeps TBBT so popular is that on some levels it is like real life, however little we care to admit it. The characters themselves are like real people. However, I've found that after a few years, members of groups realise what's happening and make a point of scheduling meetings more often. After parties for wedding anniversaries and milestone birthdays where we say, ' We need to do this more often' and then don't until the next reunion, finally someone grasps the nettle and starts organising it. We need a story where Sheldon deals with this. They're annoyed at first because it's his idea and they don't like his bossiness with schedules and rotas but then they all come round to it. It's the sort of thing Raj would want to take charge of but the others would groan about.
