Seeing it is likely their well be a Season 11. And the cliffhanger is, is Penny pregnant? That would be some discussion over the break haha. It seems the way this season is going it would be a good way to make a season finale.
JE7
There are some episodes I have only watched once (4.24/8.24/the sweater/speckerman) but this may be the first one I never watch at all. I will see how the forum reacts but as of now I have no intention of watching this one. I ´ve been through this. 4.24 was the exact point I stopped watching TBBT, because I couldn´t handle my anxiety about how or where our Lenny were routing to. I really thought the writers would go for a Renny or something like that. And I really draw the line with that in mind. But now I don´t think this will be that bad as back than. I know I don´t have reasonable arguments or facts. It´s just my feeling. Anyhow, don´t let the anxiety control you :). At the end they will overcome all this, that´s for sure. But this is supposedly a comedy at least it used to be and I see nothing funny here. If I wanted a drama I would watch game of thrones (but I don't cause they killed Ned). 3ku11
Seems to me they are showing the parallels of the different stages the couples are at. Shamy are at Teenage Phase. They are giddy, all over each other all.. well some of the time. Bernadette are at the Maternal stage. And Lenny are at the passing the Honeymoon phase. So interesting to see getting advice from whom. I think instead of getting advice from Shamy. Lenny would be better off going to Howard and Bernadette. Once it gets complicated with marrage and stuff. I'm currently watching the Season 3 premiere. God show was so fun back then! Best opener ever. Kinda miss this TbbT. Opposed to the unorganic and fake drama. Yes and no. If you find the one for you (as we are supposed to believe Leonard and Penny are for each other) marriage is not supposed to complicate things but consolidate your love. My wife and I have been together for 25 years and while we've obviously have are ups and downs we are not mean to each other like Leonard and Penny (specially Penny) were to each other in tonight's episode. If the same set of circumstances arose between my wife and I early in our marriage, and she took a friend to the spa instead of taking me as she had promised she wouldn't have found me when she went back to the house. Obviously our relationship is much more balanced than Leonard and Penny's. It is episodes like tonight's that make me not want to root for fake Lenny anymore. The real Lenny, the one we haven't really seen for quite some time, I'm totally a fan of.
JE7
I read the TR, read the pre-broadcast comments in the forum and now have read the comments of those who have seen the episode so let me take stock. Lovey dovey Shamy and fighting Lenny - check Penny getting pissed about something she has no right to and storming off - check Grovelling Leonard - check Lenny RA - check ANOTHER 'dramatic arc" for Lenny leading to some ambiguous future payoff - check My apologies to the ladies but.. Fuck that! It's simple I am the consumer a business gives me what I want/enjoy and they get my money/time in return if they don't deliver they don't get paid/watched. I have no stomach for more useless Lenny drama in what is supposedly a comedy. Since I allready fast forward most of the episodes lately due to Sheldon overload and Howardette's Raj contamination the decision not to watch is pretty easy. Post Season 5 The Recombination Hypothesis. How many times has Penny or Leonard tried? Leonard got her a car in The Friendship Turbulence. Penny bought Leonard that helicopter toy In Season hate ha. Any case I see this issue with Lenny combination. Of Complacent Leonard. And immature Penny. Well, I won´t go into a discussion about what´s romantic or not. The main issue was, What efforts did Leonard put into the relationship. Obviously I find most of his, romantic, but that is a whole other level of discussion. Because that is for everyone on a personal value. Anyhow, it´s a non discussion. The main premisse of this tbbt till this season was, does the geeky guy get the pretty blond, and HOW did he doe this. With or without romantic efforts. I have watched the entire episode. My thought: I wasn´t amused as I was with the previous one. That I really liked. This one, was " meh", most of the time. But, I wasn´t that shocked about how Lenny was portrayed. Still I don´t find the RA necessary and it looks ridiculous. All the things named in there, why couldn´t they write it down by themselves, if they want an agreement. It´s not difficult English, as far I can judge, there are not difficult subjects. So I don´t see the purpose to involve Sheldon. And it confirms, it was only for the comedic effect. The fight itself, well I don´t know why it had to turn into that fight. Penny could have easily talk about it, without this drama. That is what bothers me, not the fight, but why did the writers choose to create a drama like this. In comparison to the other storylines, which I found funny lighthearted, I thought all the time, why couldn´t the writers not create the same light hearted story (like the christmas tree in the previous episode) with a conflict. This is for me a really questionable choice: why the heavy drama, which could be easily fun and ironic. Anyhow, it´s really a episode I don´t care, but not as much anxiety as it was 4.24. It is a meh episode. The good part is, Lenny got more screentime. That can be a good sign. Those two shine whenever together. Love them! john2p
One of my thoughts which occured to me while reading some @bfm comments. Is it healthy that Penny get her whole identity soley out of her relationship? I mean, I remmber her saying especially Leonard and her friends are her passion and everything she needs.By that time it didn´t struck me, and it was incredible romantic to me. But now I am thinking that could be the main factor of her inconviences in her relationship. Sure she wants a more romantic Leonard. The way he was portrayed, btw class act by Johnny, it surely bothers. But forcing into THIS drama, I don´t get it. Only if there are an underlying other motive. And that can be the fact that Penny doesn´t worked ou her identity of her own. So maybe this isn´t a relationship drama, but an individual drama. Ok that plays out in the relationship and sure Leonard can help by behaving like a decent person. But I think Penny has to concentrate on finding a passion of her own, that can be a job, or hobby or.... In that way the RA is the more ridiculous, only a way to fight the symptoms, not the realy causes. Anyhow, I am still intruiged by these two. It is interesting how the evolve. The chemistry is still there!!
JE7
Maybe the problem is that TBBT is NOT a drama? Maybe a comedy should actually be funny and leave the heavy drama and the examination of the deep seated psychological issues of its characters for drama shows and just make people laugh and smile? 3ku11
I thought the tree sequence was a good example of Lenny arguing, but funny at the same time. This show has not been laugh out funny since Season 7. Its not a comedy anymore. Its a soap opera. Soap Operas are great, in its format. But TBBT was always a pure comedy. From underwear on heads, to mocking these characters, to Shamy acting like pubescent teenagers. The actors IMHO are carrying this show atm. Without them they would be screwed. Tenji
Does anybody know what was meant by the promo after the show? Jonny
I know people are saying that this whole 'I feel like you are taking me for granted Leonard' thing has somewhat come out of the blue, but has it? Been racking my brain trying to remember if there were any signs there that this might have been on the cards and that the writers perhaps planned for something like this situation to occur. Well what about the Comic Con convention storyline earlier in the season? I think you could argue that Leonard showed perhaps some signs he was taking her for granted in that episode. When he regaled to his court of young nerdlings on how he managed in his words 'to land a stone cold fox'. IIRC there was also the bit at the end of those scenes when he was bragging about her earning way more money than him. Could this episode have been the one that set this whole underlying issue between them in motion? Edited January 20, 2017 by Jonny

I think it's been building all season. You could add "I don't need to be attractive, I'm married" line too. It was an underlying issue. That finnally reached the surface. I mean that suggested complacency. And like you said since the Comic Con convention episode. Bragging to his younger protégés you well. How he scored this babe. Like he's gotten complacent in the fact he did ALOT to win her. So your right it could of been planting the seeds of not trying anymore. Then Leonard justifiably pointing out to Penny he's basically done all the heavy lifting since day one. So you know it's good they acknowledge these issues.
