Any word on how they will explain the absence of Penny's sister at the wedding? Why would she miss her own sister's wedding - especially after Wyatt mentioned missing the chance to dance with her at her wedding because she was in labour with her child. 

My guess is that the writers has forgotten about Penny´s sister. They are not that great with continuity on the show.

That might actually be a positive, by the sounds of it the only thing that could have possibly transferred to episode 2 or 3 was some kind major drama and by the looks of it that didn't happen. Though like you said it's possible they could record some scenes to put into episode 2 or 3 especially as they are filming out of sequence.

Yeah from the episodes taped it looks like no major drama but i was thinking on the lines of a joke about something funny that happened at the redo if shown or not. I guess we have to wait and see.

We know that 9x24 and 10x1 take place on back-to-back days in TBBT universe.  They don't do that very often.

It's possible that there are small time jumps between 10x1, 10x2 and 10x3 so if that happened, the events of the re-do in 10x1 would not be recent events in the characters lives.  We also know from the 10x3 taping report that Bernie's baby bump is staring to show, that was not reported in 10x2, which adds to my time-jump theory.

And no time jump from premiere to E2 as we start E2 with Raj & Howard informing them that the Military contacted them and met with Raj (which Mark said we leave E1 with that).

10x2 is close to 10x1 as Raj refers to meeting the AF guy and I think it happens in 10x1.  IMO 10x3 is a tiny time jump.

In the cold open of 10x02 we find out that Raj was approached by the AF guy - which happens as the end of 10x01 with the actor reportedly being in the first 3 episodes. So there's a smaller time jump between 10x01 and 10x02 (the next day) and a bigger one to 10x03 (maybe a week or two since Sheldon was tinkering with the maths "for days" since starting the project which doesn't sound like too much time has passed).

Sheldon needed some major event, to make him realise how much Amy truly meant to him.

The breakup did that.

Is that why according to canon, and despite all of Amy's innuendo, he hasn't had sex with her again? If he does have coitus again with her on her birthday then it would be solely according to what he wanted from the beginning. If he's still being so selfish, then I would surmise she's not that important to him.

You know I broadly agree with you about the writing, but here I might differ. I would hope that sex IS a selfish act: as in, one you engage in to receive as well as to give pleasure. My issue with the way coitus was framed was precisely that it seemed as though Sheldon might NOT have acted selfishly i.e. Sheldon said that he was giving Amy the 'gift of his genitals', and in subsequent episodes the show has gone out of its way to create opportunities where Sheldon could make, or respond favourably to, an expression of desire...and every time it has gone with the 'oblivious' route or the 'Bazinga!' route. All this while also going out of its way to clarify that Amy enjoyed the sex.

Maybe I can ask this without getting attacked hahaha. IS it possible they were too hasty with Shamy having Sex? Maybe it should of been something they both wanted. It just seems to me. For Sheldon it was just something he ticked off on his list. Amy it was a life changing expereince. Sheldon it was like meh, tick lol. I Don't know I Am starting to think they shoulden't of slept together in the first place. God forbid if Amy starts dropping inneundos all the time. One thing I like about Lenny is the simplicty of their relationship, you know who they are, and what they are. I like Shamy, but I just can't get into them. They lack identity. I agree Sheldon is genearlly selfish. But he was not in this case. Yoyur right Sex is a selfish act. And it seems Sheldon is not. Every time Amy offers herself. He goes with the hold your horses route, or bazinga. OR in Meemaw, you already got my virignity settle down. IT does not seem Sheldon has any desires. It was almost a gift (Or a gift from the writers heh). Not an actual desire. But that is just my two cents. I mean we know Amy enjoyed the sex lol, but really wish they would explore Sheldons point of view. And if Amy is not okay with Sheldon not wanting to have a physical relationship. As it seems that was a one off. Then she should go and get a new BF. But of course already went down that route. So they have now risked not changing Sheldon, ala full measure. And alienating the Shamy fanbase. JMO.

The us is a big country and regional dialects differ greatly, soda/pop/cola as an example so maybe that's it, I have always said glove compartment and never heard it called a glove box

Her sister and family may not have been able to get away. And with all the other guest stars the production company may not have had money to pay for other actors. Also with only a 22 minute show, the writers may not have had any part for them rather than standing in the background.
