She's recently mentioned on her blog that she continues to have hand problems as a result of the accident.

Could be she was just pretending to play and they played the music from a recording

Yeah this is most likely. Still it's good to see the harp, one of Amy's quirks that has been missing for a long time.

Funny thing is Three is not company, it has always been two. Shelnard and Lenny. Penny won, so TPTB really need to stop reinforcing this fake notion. But other then that, I Think it is kinda sweet Sheldon professed his love for Lenny. Could be worser lol. Just wondering if they can do this great ceremony, what stopped them originally? I guess point of 8x24, I Guess was Penny commiting, that was huge for her to take a  leap like that. But i Guess it all worked out for the best in the end.

I'm just catching up on things and I don't normally comment here but to all you Lennys ... sorry that Sheldon is IN the wedding... literally. Let's hope it comes out lighter on screen and funnier.  :umbrage:

This desire by the writers to hit it home that 'three's company' is getting old. We get it... anyway.

Hope the episode is mostly what you have waited for.:girlwink:

The premise is the premise. Wadda ya do. Recalibrating my outrage trigger to go off when Sheldon actually snuggles in bed between Leonard and Penny. Hopefully that space is reserved. The premise is perhaps tougher on the Shamy collective. "All hat and no cattle" seems the go. Don't know whether L/P are being supportive or enabling - but this reads as pretty good.

(mod gods may move this to s10 discussion...?)

This may be no big deal, but apparently Leonard has the bigger of the two bedrooms. I had always thought Sheldon's was bigger.

http://www.tickld.com/x/yahg/45-rarely-known-facts-about-the-big-bang-theory/p-30

Leonard's room not only looks bigger, if you measure Leonard's is actually bigger. BTW not exactly the best use of space in the building.

I don't see any mention of Amy as maid of honour.

I did not see that in the TR.

In the BTS it was said that Mayim was twirling around in her bridesmaid dress, so if Bernadette married them, I just assumed Amy was the maid-of-honor.

IMO...The dimensions are all off....the hallway in the guys apartment (past the kitchen..off of the bathroom and L/S bedrooms is huge.  Its bigger than some of the living spaces.

Sheldon's love is predictable. Besides his mother they are the two people he loves the most. Valid point on If they couldn't do  a ceremony originally how great will this be? I think the last episode of season 8 and the first episode of season 9  will always be known as Molaro greatest screw up.

Well I don't think it matters how many times they do the ceremony. I mean from ppl at taping they said the ceremony was great. So I am sure it well be when it airs. My point was, if they got it right the first time. They woulden't have to do this.

JMO and I'm not disagreeing about people at the ceremony thinking it was great. There are three factors that tarnish this ceremony for me and I'm guessing.

1. Penny being married to Zack

2 Leonard cheating on Penny

3. Lenny getting married alone in Vegas ( second time for Penny)

i will agree that if they had done Lenny right the first they wouldn't have to do this. But that wouldn't absolve the writers from points 1 and 2.

I'd noticed that, it's what drew me to noticing the size of the bedrooms, wondering if they could move a wall to make hall narrower.

Don't they need the wide hallway to allow for the TV cameras?  Or, does this discussion assume the fourth wall is in place?  :icon_wink:

I wonder if Sheldon would have done the same, if this would have been a real wedding ceremony.

Since it was just a wedding vow renewal ceremony, in which an already legally married couple renew or reaffirm their wedding vows and not actually getting married again, he couldn't do real damage at least.

Sounds like an answer to 3kull's question.

They got away from Sheldon's interference the first time.

A fuck up usually implies a mistake you made or something happened that you didn't foresee and didn't react to. The events in 8x24 and 9x1 were deliberate, and I don't buy into this notion that the writers thought they screwed up for example 9x1 and wanted to use this episode to rectify it. Has there been absolutely anything said by the writers outright or implied that they thought they screwed up the Lenny wedding and wanted a re-do? If there has can anyone point me in that direction. I thought the wedding in Vegas was awful but I don't think it was a mistake by the writers, it was deliberate.

It's easy when you get so invested in the characters or you have a particular bias to a particular character/characters that you tend to over analyse (I have been guilty myself of it many times) but this conspiracy I just don't see it.

In other words I don't think at all they did the re-do because they fucked up the first one, the re-do was a story-line with other story-lines revolving around it like the introduction of more of Penny's and Leonard's family and the possible blossoming relationship of Mary and Alfred. The writers know 100% what they are doing.

Part of the reason they went to Vegas is that Penny has an impulsive personality in contrast to the logical scientists.

I don't believe they think they messed up the wedding. They however are aware from the fan and media reaction to it that many many people didn't like it.

Since they want to keep the fans at least not actively unhappy so they ratings stay up so the show stays on the air and the money keeps coming in they made a business decision to try and win back some of the fans goodwill that they lost the first time around.

They don't actually care if we can or can't see the genius of their work they KNOW they are awesome writers who we are not qualified to judge, we are just the masses ignorant of their craft who they must occasionally appease. So  that we continue to watch and they keep getting that fat and easy paycheck.

And yes I AM cynical

Do you really expect the writers to admit they screwed up? Have they in the past? I find it hard to believe in 200+ episodes that the writers thought, at least in their minds, that they didn't screw up an episode. In regards to 8X24 the show is suppose to be a comedy. What was the funniest part of that episode. Leonard cheating on Penny or Amy dumping Sheldon?

It doesen't matter if it was intentional or not. It was still a big mistake. And they still choose shitty writing, over a desirable wedding. SO the fact you say oh I don't see how this is making up for it. Lenny are married, why create a storyline that is not neccessaru, just to re validate ? And what makes you think the the writers would publically admit their screw up?  Of coursze they won't They don't need to outright say, oh we screwed up this is why were doing a re do. IT is pretty obvious they screwed up, and this is why this storyline is happening. You don't bring in Penny's mother and brother, just for oh part of their introudction. They are comign in for a speceifc reason We all know they screwed up, they know it. You could say the introduction of mary and alfred, and families. Are all part of the re do to make up for the shitty wedding. The whole basis of the re do, is based on Bev not liking she was not told. And no one was their, so the whole thing is making up for a big mistake. So I am sorry. Writers clearly screwed up intentionally. Like said this is a comedy. They write comedy. Nothing about 8x24 was funny. So intentional or not, it was stil a mistake. They are clearly rectifying. Based on that logic. The writers were not making up for Amy dumping Sheldon. By making them sleep together.

I agree. I think they know what they are doing. By creating a little chaos they get attention and then get to do make-up episodes.

They write comedy sure. That does not mean they are barred from writing in some drama to get some attention.

Get Attention? They got them engaged in S7. Then dragged it out 2 years. I mean if they wanted attention. Why delay the process 3 years? I get the logic a bit of chaos. But why would they drop oh the hero cheated, that well get their attention. Just so year and half later, they can do it properly. When everyone has tuned out? I don't buy it. Was just bad writing, simple.

Sometimes I think we give tptb to much credit for knowing what their doing. They are just people like us who make mistakes too. I don't think every story line they have come up with has worked the way they thought it would so they have to make corrections it's just how life works
