I am with you No Regrets.  Early Amy was, to me, extremely funny.  They aired the episode where Amy spends some time with Leonard and they end up going to a wedding together (sorry, I am lousy at remembering episode titles).  It was laugh-out-loud-funny.  Amy's cluelessness as to staying beyond her welcome with Leonard in 4A (he took a shower and appeared to be getting ready for bed and she still sat on the sofa, making inane small talk---hilarious) and her getting him to get up and dance "The band. Is on fire." is something I miss seeing in Amy.  Not to say that she is not enjoyable now--she is.  It is just a totally different dynamic.....

I saw this episode, too.  And I love two things:

  • When, at the wedding, Leonard mopes to Amy how it sucks having a girlfriend on the other side of the world and Amy says, "And I have a so-called 'boyfriend' who is sitting at home playing with toy trains - you don't see me bitching about it."
  • When, the next day, Leonard tells Sheldon that he had a good time but that his groin was sore and Sheldon hits Leonard with a Vulcan karate-style chop saying "She's NOT for YOU."

Personally, I have never thought Leonard cheated and I certainly don't think Sheldon did. This is not high school. This is people in their thirties. A kiss is not cheating and going to lunch with someone is not cheating, etc. For me it has to be more than that. But I'm 62 and seen some weird stuff happen in real life. Maybe I am more tolerant. But I still say neither of them cheated.

i loved that they had to wait for the people to stop screaming for him to say will you marry me it was so funny but my concern is that amy ask why and sheldon will tell her ramona kissed him (which i was right about) and she will ask what did you do and he will say nothing and she will say no or with will be like lenny's they wait until the wedding and he tells her

I'm just wondering what was the point about these two scenes:

1. Leonard said:"You think you should call Amy?" Penny answered:"You got fingers and a mouth, you call her."

2. Penny said:"This is making me crazy, somebody's got to go over there." Leonard answered:" You got feet and legs, you do it."

Were those scenes Funny?   Hell no.  Just plain mean.

Were those scenes for pushing the plot forward? hmmm, nah,  don't think so.

So why the hell the writers made Lenny say those words to each other? In an episode they didn't even have their own plots, they were just some bystanders no less?

I'm speechless, sigh.

I called Steve and asked if he's been binging on "I Love Lucy" reruns. He copped to it and admitted he loves the Fred and Ethel dynamic and thought he'd run with it for Lenny. I suggested he start watching "The Dick Van Dike Show". We'll see if he listened.

Oh that episode was hysterical, too. And then when she ran to Penny to tell her that Leonard has fallen for her, and then Penny's face... Great writing.

And again, her cluelessness added to it.  Also, her mentioning that Penny had a better chance than Leonard, then flashing the moustache she painted/drew on her finger---hilarious!!!!

Yes. Leonard's story goes: He told his would-be spouse- she eventually forgave him and then they lived happily ever after - with Sheldon in the next room then across the hall because he took another two years to come to grips with his deep passion for Amy. Or something.

I'm sad the writers put the characters through a bit of a wringer totally unnecessarily for a cheap cliffhanger - but hey they haven't wrapped yet - don't worry, they might still split up. Huzzah!

And they have two more seasons to drag out the Shamy wedding if they want. Huzzah too!

(Still tin hatted)

Can you agree they are cliffhangers? At least that? :)

I think this season cliffhanger has to be one of the lamest in TV history, There is no way that Amy will say anything else than yes in season 11.

Well if she had any self respect she would say no. Wait we are talking about Amy here. Never mind.

Yes, they became snarky to each other again after maybe turning a corner in their relationship in the past two episodes. So true that the writers just cannot find a happy medium for Penny and Leonard. All I can say is WTF is going on?

So, Penny has even less self-respect then?, I mean, she married Leonard right after he confessed kissing someone else....

Been away from the forum a while, wow! I wont argue whether Sheldon cheated or not since I think both camps have made their points clear lol (no I dont think Sheldon cheated whatsoever but whatever).

What I DID find interesting was the episode of Spongebob Sheldon was watching on the flight and that was "Plankton!"...for those that dont watch the cartoon (and Ive watched waaaay too much of it thanks to my kids when they were younger) this episode introduces Mr. Krab's nemesis Plankton. Plankton befriends Spongebob in this episode, pretends to like him and be his buddy, in order to convince him to share the secret formula for burgers with him. When that fails Plankton uses a device to control Spongebob to force him to give it up but Spongebob prevails in the end.

In my opinion this was an Easter egg of sorts to show Sheldon's mindset, that Ramona was fooling Sheldon and pretending to be a friend while having a different agenda.

That, or the writers just picked a random Spongebob episode lol

I find your interpretation very interisting! Maybe it was not a so radmon SpongeBob episode choice after all. Writers had enjoyed to give some hints/ clues about important details for viewers pay attention before.

I said that Penny shouldn't married him either. Wish it worked that way so we would had to go through a year of Lenny with Sheldon nonsense.

I can see where one would get that interpretation. I believe that was done for suspense. Then Sheldon walks out.

Does he reminisce about the kiss when he gets on the plane? No, he watches Spongebob.

I think it's pretty funny that they picked Spongebob for Sheldon to watch on the plane...Riki Lindhome voiced a character in the Spongebob movie.

The interview with Molaro suggests it was not random.  He said he could not take credit for the specific choice.

Brilliant.  It's so 'Sheldon'.

I did not know that. Wikipedia says she did the popsicle. Found this ( watch for the popsicle at about 26 seconds). "It is too sweet in here". "come play with me". Too funny on many levels.

I figured Spongebob was just the writers way of stamping innocent in Sheldon's forehead and showing Sheldon was not obsessing over Ramona at all.

Well i finally got round to watching the season finale, this is just my opinion and probably a singular opinion, it wasn't that good a episode although it fits for the season, a disappointing finale for a disappointing season. Also in these last two episodes they couldn't give Leonard & Penny a scene by themselves , yet they managed to find room for a Sheldon and Penny scene. Also didn't .like that Sheldon told Penny that her and Leonard needed to see a marriage consular,as for the cliffhanger of course Amy will say yes. It's a shame the season started so well with the Lenny wedding redo and there was so much potential with the Shamy living together and Lenny finally living alone. But for me that's where it went down hill they squandered the chance of showing Lenny learning to live by themselves, instead focusing on the trials & tribulations of Shamy. It got worse in the second half of the season with them having Lenny fighting and having no resolution to the fights, then giving them a ridiculous relationship agreement, which we haven't seen or heard from since. So that was pointless  and then dumping Raj on them which again was pointless other than for tptb to have a episode where Penny and Raj bond and Leonard feels like a third wheel in his own marriage.

I hope next season we get more comedy and less drama but more importantly more balance between all the characters and pairings, like we had in season six.Although i have a feeling if Amy says yes where going to be subjected to a whole season of there wedding being mentioned probably loads of plots based around all the wedding planning.I wouldn't be surprised if the season ends with the wedding and the final scene is the gang waving off the Shamy on there honeymoon , because of course they will get one.

I just want my ship to sail happily in the sea of tbbt, not floundering in the Shamy storm like it has been the past three years, give it some clear sailing for a change.

The scene where Sheldon leaves his office, goes outside and gets in the taxi was actually filmed at Caltech outside of the Cahill Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics.

I feel the finale could have had some more variety of plots. I feel many things were swept under the rug , in favor of the Shamy proposal and  related drama.

I think  the episode could  have had a B plot too in the finale. Like I said before, unhappiness about another major part of your life-your career - is just as important.

The guys' project was taken away from them. They all worked hard.  Leonard's feelings weren't even explored that much ( although that's a minor complaint and it was actually IC for him to be totally  fine ). I don't want the plot to return but  I would have liked to see some follow up on the project -some acknowledgement of their work or some closure, before they moved on from it , for good. That was something Leonard and Howard could have had as a B plot IMO.

What I would have liked the  MOST was , to see Penny search for a new job in the season finale and Leonard supporting her, as a B plot or  in 10.23. But all she did was advise Shamy on long distance and love. Nothing wrong with that, but why not follow up on 10.22 ????

They could have still had a group scene with Ramona .

As for the rest of the season,  I agree, Lenny living together was explored no where near as much as Shamy. The most I got was the dance party and Penny hiding his stuff. The rest was just pointless fights. They don't get as many bed scenes as Shamy.
