Your friend is a "Shamy fan"? I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Sheldon and Leonard passed out from exhaustion and Penny yawning.

To me the wedding was  a BBT standard skit with the cast in charactor.  The problem I have with Sheldon is that he clearly knows what he is doing to the point he comments that he is making his insults more efficient.  This is a choice he has made.  I have no problem with the gigantic ego.  It is when the lashing out is done specifically to hurt or esculated the insults to get his owned way.  This unacceptable behavior.

Happy taping day!!! Who's excited? :D I know I am!

Trying to not get too excited, I wasn't expecting what we got last week and we should know that it changes from week to week. They could implement a time jump largely for the Bernadette pregnancy that will impact other storylines.

I haven't seen anyone else say anything about Susan's comment about how it was nice seeing Leonard AGAIN?  Although this does fit with us finding out Alfred had met Penny before.

I did notice it, especially since we had that phone conversation after the engagement where she was talking to her mother in a manner that made it appear that Susan (just "mom" at that time) had not met Leonard yet.....

Tbh I prefer him this way.The whole "I am rude but innocent" is more annoying for me.I don't think they went to far,he was always like that in my eyes.Maybe, back then he didn't understand half the wrong things he did,but the other half was there and was done on purpose. He is not a bad person but he is a jerk and at least now he seems much more aware of that  (by the manner of which he acts and talks-btw clever acting by JP for him to change the character like this).I don't see why he should change, jerks exist irl too!But what I don't understand though,is how his friends (Lenny) haven't realised he's changed a lot and he is simply manipulating and insulting them for the fun of it now.

Perhaps they do, and that is why they don't let it get to them.   For instance, when Sheldon insulted Alfred and Leonard all in the same sentence, Sheldon admitted he knew what he was doing.   He was mad at Alfred, and by association, at Leonard, too.

Sheldon is who he is, and he might get better, but he will always be a jerk.  Yes, it's irritating, but I enjoy watching the show because of the relationships Sheldon has and the people who love him in spite of who/what he is.    Obviously, his friends get more benefit from putting up with him than not having him around at all, and I think this is the greatest love of all;  to find it within in oneself to love someone, even when it is undeserved.

I'd also like to point out that everyone in the group, including Amy, has insulted Sheldon for the sake of making a joke or expressing frustration.

When she talked to her mom she did say 'yeah the physicist' or something like that, so her mother did know who she was talking about, so it could be implied that she introduced them before.

Im just excited that its taping day regardless of plot. Taping days always make me happy. As far as Bernie's pregnancy goes, they already did a time jump (ep. 2, not showing, ep. 3 and 4 obviously showing), so I don't expect a huge leap, maybe a 2-3 week jump. We will just have to see!

I disagree. The only reason they put up with him is because the writers make them. They have nothing to gain from Sheldon or his insults no one will put up with that or love someone like him and that's why it's not the real world or Sheldon will be living in 2003 alone.

I never understood that kind of logic that is often used on this board. The whole thing is written. Nothing ever happens unintendedly in this show.

Exactly, I can understand the point that they're making, but when it all comes down to it everything is written on TBBT. They (the writers) have Sheldon be annoying because they want him to be annoying. They write him to be a jerk. But they also write his friends to be tolerant and patient with him because deep down he (sometimes) doesn't mean anyone any real harm. I can respect that some of these character evaluations can be blunt and to the point, but the real fun is really digging deep and find out why the writers WROTE THEM they way that they did.

For example, why did they write Sheldon to be such an annoying jerk-face but still have him save 25% of his patent earnings for a child's scholarship fund that isn't even his own kid? Why did they write Leonard to be so patient with him when others might have given up? Why did they write any character the way that they did?

Its part of the fun! Digging deep and discussing and debating. You can be blunt and say "they did it because they wrote them that way", but IMO its not very fun haha

Yes, the writers wrote his friends to tolerate him, but they also wrote ALL the characters to have good and bad traits that, IRL, some of us might not tolerate at all. But its not real life. Its a fun TV show that has a little extra than just what is written on paper and acted on screen.

Im sure my rambling made no sense at all and was just a bunch o gibberish, but it's just my little unorganized POV.
