Maybe they could use the trip as a way of Sheldon proposing:

After a fun day at the flag convention Sheldon and Amy return to their hotel room. Amy goes to the bathroom to freshen up, Sheldon gets a flag out of his luggage and places it on their bed with the engagement ring placed on top of it. Amy comes out of the bathroom and Sheldon says something along the lines of "Amy did you know there is a flag with a piece of jewelry on it?", Amy says "I think you are wrong Sheldon I know of no such flag". Sheldon says "Are you sure? Look on the bed". Camera pans to a custom made flag with 'Amy Farrah Fowler will you marry me?' embroided on the flag with the ring box open on top.

Corny I know, good thing I am not a writer lol

Molaro indicated that they had no idea, but as they write 24 episodes a year they have plenty of time to adjust for a Season 10 end or a continuation beyond 10.  He also mentioned in a few interviews today that the cast is very on board for more than 10 seasons.

Reliable media outlets have indicated that the cast may already (or may very soon) be in negotiations for future seasons.

I liked his comment on one of the interviews (slightly paraphrased), "If it will increase our ratings if you think this is the last year, then this is the last year."

Is it weird that I'd love to see a bones/tbbt crossover or a cameo from Dr Brennan and Sheldon meeting, poor Sheldon wont know what's happening, Dr Brennan is very similar in smartness and also similar to Sheldon in not knowing about the non important things in the world

 

I only say this as I was Following the tbbt comic con yesterday and Bones was there also

Based on what I've read about Pushing Daisies I'd like Sheldon to meet Ned. Because of his ability he started out quite socially withdrawn as a character and not wanting to touch anyone. Plus, there's the added heightened anticipation of simple things like kissing his girlfriend Chuck because he can't touch her (again, due to his ability) which is similar to the anticipation that has built up for Shamy over the years.

Imagine they do a cute little FwF panel with audience questions and everything! Maybe they won't get a big audience but they could have a little dedicated fanbase. LOL

I agree, She is very similar to Sheldon in many ways.

Yes, Brennan is very like Sheldon, albeit in a different field. Sheldon-like (but not quite like ) characters pop up all over the place.

 I was watching an old episode of New Tricks today and realised how like Brian ('Memory') Lane Sheldon is. He'd make a good detective. Esther wasn't unlike Amy in some ways -

Brian : Am I boring ? Do I go on and on ?

Esther : Well you have a very high intellect and a broad body of knowledge. You are very generous with them.

Sheldon also reminds me of Victor Meldrew and Martyn Brice, both of whom were blessed with very patient wives.

Have you watched the SDCC panel? From what I got from Molaro's words (English is not my first language...) the flag convention seems more than just an idea floating around in the writers room...What do you think? It's true that also last year he was pretty positive about knowing something more about Amy's family and what he meant was just a little story about the way her mother grounded her when she was a child, so I don't want to raise my hope too much...but from what I understand, in a way or the other a flag convention will have its way in the show.

I personally took it as an idea and not set in stone. They have all these ideas that they have to fit into 24 episodes and that's also considering guest appearances, making sure characters have enough screen time each and the possibility that Season 10 might be the last. I hope they do indeed to a flag convention but I am under no illusion in that it might not happen.

We didn't get that much from the writers really, apart from the casting news it was mainly talking about decision making processes on Season 9.

Hello my dear Shamy shippers! 

Sorry, for the absence but rl is keeping me busy still. Thank you Tensor and Kazzie for providing us with infos, about season 10! 

A flag convention would be great, maybe they would meet fans of fwf. Amy would deserve some admiration and respect from others, plus she loves to be in the centre of interests. I wouldn´t be surprised if Sheldon expected some fans and printed therefore some autograph cards signed by himself, which he would give everyone who passes their way at the convention. 

I´m super excited, that the writers are planning to let Amy experiment on mice orgasms. This sounds so hilarious!

I´m hoping to see Sheldon assisting her, because the university doesn´t want to affort an lab assistant or because Sheldon doesn´t like Amy´s lab assistant. Maybe this could finally lead to Sheldon exploring his own sexuality more in a very quirky, sheldonesque way.

Hi guys, this is the first time I post here in the Season 10 topic.

I can't wait to see them in this convention, wouldn't it be funny if Dave showed up just to see Dr. Cooper? It would be an awkward but funny interaction!

It would be neat if they had an episode where Penny & Leonard went to a minor Sci-Fi  convention with Penny's "Serial Apist" stardom, and Shamy went to a flag convention as the power couple of vexilology.  Also, at SDCC, the panel did seem  interested in what the fans wanted to know about Amy's family.  She is the only cast member with limited family info. and we only saw her mother once on Sykpe in Season 4.  The writers seem to find comic gold in the cast members' families, so maybe they do plan to flesh out her story.

I can't believe this hiatus is almost over.. Its gone so fast (for me anyway). The BBT panel was so fun! Although they were not really giving up any major hints for S10 apart from casting. 

Someone asked if they know how they will finish the show.. Molaro answered that there are a few ideas going around but they haven't got there just yet. To me this is a big big hint that S10 will not be the last.

Perhaps Amy's parents will be part of the Shamy proposal and engagement story?

Finally had time to watch the full panel! That was a lot of fun and Melissa did a fabulous job. <3

- Great to see you, @kazzie! Thank you so much for live tweeting!! And asking about Amy's background. We didn't really get anything about that (the "everything" made it easy for them to wiggle out of that corner lol) but at least they gave us the prospect of Amy getting a new science project which is definitely one of the big things that were missing for me in S9. So I'm super happy about that and I'm looking forward to seeing her in her lab again and the subject of her study should be ripe for some juicy humour. I do hope though that it may lead to bring up the topic of  physical intimacy between them and end that "once a year" agreement. Maybe there'll be some science-y flirting and that's then when finally Sheldon understands what Amy wants. He doesn't get "normal" flirting cause he clearly is terrible at reading body language and he's not familiar with slang. But science might just get him. And it could be hilarious. Anyway... I get carried away.

- I love how they brought up the Spockumentary. It sounded like a pretty sure thing they way they talked about it like: yeah it'll come out in TBBT universe soon and Sheldon is in it and then things will happen... One way or another I'm sure it'll bring the ring back into play. I'm less sure if this will actually lead to a proposal but it's a possibility. It's also possible that it'll lead to a bit of angst, not necessarily about the breakup. I always love the Spock episode because it's such a heartbreaking insight into Sheldon. The segments they filmed with him show him in such a vulnerable light when he talks about the bullying he had to endure as a kid and how he learned to cope with that and I think it would be great for Amy to hear about that and gain some insight into his mind. It might explain a few things to her.

- Likewise the real life flag convention sounded like a save idea which makes me very excited. I think the NAVA meeting in San José in October I mentioned earlier is the most likely candidate due to timing and close proximity. Also, it seems to be their 50th anniversary this year so that would be a nice shout out for them, I think. (There's also another international conference in September but it's in Paris, France and I don't think they'll have Shamy take a trip there. lol) Looking through their website the conference will have plenty of presentations about flags by the society's members and in the end the best one will get some sort of award. And I think it could be a nice plot for Shamy to make their own presentation and either win the award and we get a cute victory celebration, or they don't which then leads to Sheldon being his usual self like "This is preposterous!! I demand a re-evaluation!" LOL

So yeah, that seem to be the really concrete Shamy ideas for S10 (and my thoughts/speculation/hopes about/for them). Can't wait for it all to start! Cheers! :D

I think nearly all of us have been asking for a real science plot for Amy and some scenes back in her lab for some time so it would be most welcome. A study into Orgasms and the sexual behavior of Mice lol, I do wonder in what direction they are going to go with this. Maybe you are right April and it leads to something else that has an impact on her own love life. Then again it could lead to sexual innuendo gags that go nowhere and over Sheldon's head. I'm a believer that if Amy was more direct on that front especially since they have already been intimate she might get the outcome she wants, but then again it wouldn't be funny.

Not sure what they plan to do with the Spockumentary, Amy knows about the ring and that he was hurting during the breakup from Meemaw's comments and most likely Penny would have told her something. Spock Resonance is a great episode that reveals a lot about Sheldon and his mindset towards life, maybe it has some impact that we can't foresee yet but the writers have it in mind.

The flag convention could be genius if they do decide to run with it and they can pull it off. It would be hilarious if they are recognized from their FWF show and are revered in some way. Like you said the timing and location could be perfect for them to put this idea into practice.

Hopefully we get some more rumors in the weeks ahead, things like the engagement are near the top of my interests for season 10. Though If I was the writers and I do have a planned timetable in mind and some ideas for a proposal I wouldn't reveal it. Makes sense to keep the Shamy fans glued to their TV sets each week thinking is this the episode that Sheldon finally pops the question.

Not long to go now, I mean not long til I find out what they have planned as I am in the UK and I have a few months yet to actually see it.

I'm just so loving easy breezy Shamy.  The sorta-sounds-like-it-from-Steve-then-by-Eric confirmation of the Flag Convention sounds adorable.  And Shamy going to something alone is perfect.  Its where they are at in their relationship.  And honestly I've sorta put the ring on my own back-burner.

The fangirl in me hopes Amy's horny mice experiment leads some where..  Her discussing with Sheldon the findings...him getting turned on....wham/bam/thank you ma'm..... I've so desperately wanted just 1 horny Sheldon moment (my wish-list for first half of S10).
