Sheldon hates Amy's apartment, and if I recall, Amy wanted to move out anyway when her lease was up. After Sheldon's soliloquy about all the changes he'd have to get accustomed to if they moved, I think it is a definite they will stay put. Besides, I think it works having Lenny side-by-side with the weird new neighbors. I'm really loving the PALS dynamic.
serena_1995
3 hours ago, boys3allc said: 9) Now on to one of the most perfectly written scenes in Big Bang history. Sheldon is caught between a rock and a hard place. The known and the unknown. Any one else coming up on him in that hall way would have been either "what are you talking about." Or "don't be stupid." Amy understood immediately what he needed. She asked no questions and gave no advice. She only offered him what no one else can. Intelligence and logic that rival his own. In the end thats what got him in that door. No declarations of now I'm living with Amy. He just chose her because she is whats right for him. She's what he needs. It is so beautiful. OMG yes..........the final hallway scene between Sheldon and Amy was one of the most perfectly written scenes ever . So funny and sweet ! I felt sad for Sheldon when he was standing between 4A and 4B to decide between his old life with Leonard and his new life with Amy. I loved it when Sheldon brings up an old interesting Philosophical thesis about a donkey trapped between 2 equidistant buckets of hay , who would starve to death because of indecision. Amy immediately gets the reference and hands him the *eggplant* because she cares so much about him and doesn't want him to go hungry. But she understands what he is going through. She doesn't offer any advice, and she doesn't force him to go with her. If it was anyone else, even Leonard, they would have probably made a "WTF" face when Sheldon brought up that thesis but Amy immediately gets it. She even offers him an argument about how the philosophy was plagiarized from Aristotle. Sheldon wants to discuss about Aristotle with Amy, so he follows her into 4B but I think subconsciously, THAT was the moment when Sheldon made up his mind about finally choosing Amy over Lenny and going into the unknown. We don't know if the living arrangement is permanent but scenes like that show why Sheldon and Amy are the only ones who get each other . rice sheldon
I really loved the hallway scene. I had to watch it a couple more times, along with the Shamy bed scene. It's scenes like that (particularly the former) that remind me why Sheldon and Amy are truly right for each other. It's easy to forget at times that they have a truly deep and meaningful connection. Sometimes it's hard to get past the "Sheldon is an ass" stuff because that seems to be all the writers show us at times. It was so nice to see them talking like that again, sharing the truly intimate bond they share: knowledge. As said before, anyone else would have mocked him when he brought up that thesis. They would have called him nuts or asked him to get out of the hallway. Amy is nothing but understanding. And it's plain to see that she enjoys their conversation too; it's intellectually stimulating, and that's something that they can't exactly share with the rest of the group, at least not to the extent that they can with each other. It was really heartfelt and tender. The bed scene is also really cute. I loved how he said not to hum Star Trek and Amy didn't get upset, just said sorry because she understands that he's an oddball. And then spooning, and the huge smile on his face... And then, when he awoke from the nightmare, she instantly went to soothe him. Remember the days when Sheldon felt like her hugs were like being strangled? If you compare her consoling in the scene where we find out Kripke is farther along in his research and these scenes, the change is so clear. I really loved this episode. I thought it was laugh out loud funny (the sex dungeon!!) and so so tender. Oh, and on the topic of where they'll live, I definitely think they'll move into Penny's permanently. We already know that they have taken Penny's pictures off the fridge in 10x08. Also, the ending of the episode, where Leonard just bursts in with the girly bedding he intends to hide, is what I think we'll get from now on. I think they will sleep and eat in their respective apartments, but after dinner and on weekends I think they'll move freely between the apartments. TLDR; The episode was beautiful. Shamy is beautiful. I'm excited.
camelliayao
Love the scene between Shamy in the hallway. Almost cried when Amy says "l understand, I'all leave you be." First, she understands the reference immediately. More importantly, she knows changing is difficult for Sheldon. She doesn't talk him into living with her, nor does she give up. She gives him space, along with her love (the eggplant in case he staves to death lol). If that's not true love, I don't know what is. Hopefully, this scene can end those complaints about how Amy "forces" Sheldon into things lol. The last part of the conversation is a perfect demonstration of why Shamy fell in love in the first place and why they are perfect for each other. It's nice to see scenes like this every now and then. Also the KISS, the spooning, FWF, Amy's language. Amy's sincere apology and Sheldon forgaving her. Everything is adorable. The only thing I'm not 100% satisfied with about this episode is maybe they could've written Sheldon a little less selfish. I get it change is hard for him. But it'll be nice to see he takes Amy into consideration too. Like maybe he realizes if he chooses to move back, how heartbroken Amy would be. Although, on the other hand, I wouldn't want Sheldon to stay with Amy just because he doesn't want to hurt her. Do you guys think this episode means their current LA is a done deal? Or they will change it again?
Lady in Red
I think they might redecorate Penny's apartment, but other than that, it looks like the change in living arrangements is a done deal. Looks to be a successful experiment.
xjax
Really think the LA is done deal but IMO I think they should move to other place..something bigger ...seems odd to me they have to live in a very small apartment.. without any of their personal belongs..... I think they will move to a better place up the end of the season, following with a proposal of course. Love the hallway scene.. indee one of the best scenes ever.. the way Amy understood his feelings and give him space and also comprehension... loved...great to have some big chances without any words, just feeling...... well done writers
jenafan
This was a beautiful Shamy episode! First of all, I loved the FWF on location, with Shamy telling the whole world that they are cohabitating. I loved seeing them working together to take the set down. Sheldon is able to read Amy well enough now to know when something is amiss, so much so that he cannot dismiss it and loses his ability to function properly. I melted when he expressed his concerns to his friends, and even later confirmed his love for and enjoyment of living with Amy. The good night kiss has been a long time coming, but even more precious to me was hearing Sheldon address Amy in his nightmare. It was obviously part of his subconscious to recognize Amy's suggestions was merely a throw back at his own comment and he played off it by endearing her with "That's my girl." LOVED THIS SO MUCH! I guess they are not spooning to sleep as we thought from the gifs we saw. How I loved that when Sheldon woke up suddenly, Amy was right there to hold and comfort him. So much has already been said about the best written Shamy scene in the hallway. When Sheldon listened to Amy repeat back the meaning behind the thesis he was contemplating, and he looked one last time at the 4A door, I knew he was saying goodbye. Amy really shined tonight, and it is more clear than ever why Sheldon and Amy are right for each other. Just like Sheldon showed up to interrupt Dave at the right moment, Amy came up the stairwell right when Sheldon needed her to help him make a decision. She did so, not by lecturing, manipulation, pleading, or berating. She appealed to Sheldon's intellect by showing understanding and how much she cares for him by giving him the eggplant. She spoke to him using his language.
RoRo
I liked the guys speaking in klingon and the girls talking in Amy's made up language. I loved the hallway scene. I think they will stay in 4b, but was/am hoping that maybe they could move them into a bigger apartment in the same building, 4b supersized
Maddie
OKAY. So a lot of people have already spoken about how stunning that hallway scene was, but I just have to give my two cents because OH MY GOD I was not expecting this to be one of my all time favorite Shamy episodes ever (and I've got a pretty long list). I remember thinking when Prom aired and Clean Room (the Christmas episode) aired - two of my all time favorite Shamy episodes - how I couldn't imagine Shamy being more perfect than they were in those episodes. Then in Earworm and Opening Night, the subtleties and nuances of them reuniting and physicalizing their love and seeing the love and excitement and nervousness on their faces in that bedroom scene - a scene I consider to be probably the most beautiful Shamy scene to date - I once again thought that Shamy really couldn't get much better. But THIS? This is Shamy like I never imagined. And it's all in the little things. I think we as fans sometimes get lost in our desires and hopes and thinking about how it's about time that Shamy has done this or that - especially with living together which has been a long time coming - that we forgot to stop and think about how big a deal it is that Sheldon is now living with Amy. And I think the hallway scene both captures the heaviness of the decision - Sheldon leaving his best friend whom he's lived with for 15 years and his comfort zone - and the simplicity of "oh, of course I would choose Amy." It's no small thing at all that Sheldon is leaving Leonard and his home. The show has done a beautiful job these past couple of years showing the brotherhood between Sheldon and Leonard. So it makes his decision to live with Amy all the more touching. And I think the look on his face when she quickly understood the thesis really said it all. And his look back at 4A, as if saying goodbye, -- OMG. He's literally saying goodbye to one chapter to his life and saying hello to another one. And this is Sheldon we're talking about, the man who hates change and disruption of routine more than anything in the world. Someone also mentioned how much they loved Amy in this episode. I couldn't agree more. Her singing to him and her understanding his reference was just perfect. In that moment, she was reminding him of exactly why he fell in love wither her, and you could see it in his face. I also loved how Sheldon was so worried over the thought that something was amiss with Amy that he couldn't eat or sleep. And just the huge personal growth of him making the decision to leave his apartment and Leonard. I mean, he's undoubtedly scared, but he's doing it. Anyways, they are just perfect. And there will be moments where Sheldon is an ass or Amy does something morally questionable. Of course. That will never change. But I think when you just look at the big picture and see the growth and the love and how in sync and happy they are, it leaves very little to be unhappy about. MsRajeshFowlerCooper
The hallway scene is now my favorite Shamy moment. Better than the train or ear worm or opening night or even the blanket fort, which was my favorite before. Sheldon has lots of people who love him, but Amy understands him. After the scene in the living room I was worried it was going to end ambiguously, but he chooses her. And it's so sweet I can't find the words for it. He looks so confident as he walks into the apartment. When he has a feeling he knows it. I love it.
Tenji
I absolutely loved that episode. Not just the Shamy but everything. I think this season in comparison to last year is so much stronger and funnier (and I didn't dislike season 9). I think the changes in the character's lives are providing the writers with different opportunities and whilst some may take issue with 'rehashed' plots, I love the way things are playing out.One of my favourite episodes of the season and next week's look hilarious too! mirs1
What an episode! I loved every bit of it... The FwF segment was very funny, now the show has its own song, it's not as catchy as Thor and Dr Jones, but it's ok. The episode theme was so romantic, too! I am not a fan of the plot about Amy lying, but she was such a bad liar, you can tell a mile away she was feeling terrible for that, so much so that even Sheldon, which is no genius when it comes to interpret human behavior and facial expressions, knew that there was something wrong about it. I liked Pamy interaction in the episode, not only them speaking their "secret" language (which was gold), but also their dialogue on the stairs. Those two girls now are equal friends, they have their backs and banter each other; "Amy be cool", though, it's such a nice shout out to how their friendship started, with Penny "teaching" her how to behave, LOL! I was pleasantly surprised that in this episode we got the first take out dinner for the gang, but it made sense that such an important moment, Sheldon moving out, would have been "celebrated" by the whole gang. Anyway, that was a very big decision for Sheldon to make, and Amy understood that perfectly. In bed, that night, she tried to comfort him and to be supporting. The goodnight kiss was so sweet, I've waited for something like that for so long, and the way she hugged him after the nightmare made me melt. The dream was pretty funny, I know it was just a dream, but Sheldon dreamt "sassy" Amy "Can it be more of an internal struggle?" LOL!!! He likes sassy Amy, I assume! The sex dungeon was very funny, as all the questions Howard made about it. Finally, my most favourite thing ever...the hallway scene! Sheldon was struggling so hard. Of course he loves Amy and likes living with her, but change was not easy, making the decision was not easy. His friends couldn't understand that. Amy could. She didn't insist, she didn't give him reasons to choose her, she just made sure he had something to eat (that eggplant, though, LOL!) and just let him know she understood him. She understood his struggle and she understood his philosophical references. That dialogue was so brilliant. That is a love affair of the mind and that scene proves it. It was moving, in a way. Sheldon at the end of it made his decision, and they are in 4B now.
ShamyBabboos
I posted this on tumblr but... might as well here My view on the hallway scene: Amy knew that he was comparing his predicament to the donkey being frozen with indecision to his apartment dilemma. She knew that it was a hard choice for him to make, even though he loves her and enjoys living with her. She doesn’t pry. She doesn’t ask. Instead she replies with her own symbolism. When she says “I wouldn’t want you to starve,” and handed him the eggplant, she was symbolizing something deeper. In principal, Sheldon, like the donkey, is frozen with not knowing what to do. Both options are identical (mostly) except for one factor. Amy. The other option, 4A is the more familiar and therefore, safer option. But Sheldon was still riddled with indecision. When Amy, on one side of the hall came to him in the center to give him the eggplant, it was Amy silently telling him “take your time. I won’t rush you, but I am always here for you. I won’t leave you alone to choose this decision on your own. I won’t let you starve– I won’t leave you frozen– no matter what you pick I’ll be here. I love you” And then she goes back to her end of the hall to let Sheldon ultimately choose. She speaks to him, but doesn’t make him decide. She just talks. No prying, no pressuring. The decision was all his. AND THATS WHY ITS BEAUTIFUL. Edited November 4, 2016 by ShamyBabboos

Listgirl
THIS EPISODE.......! I have to write something down before I go to work. Loved it all, every single piece of it. FWF, the band, Lenny, Pamy, a group meal to deliver the momentous news, everything. However the Hall scene: you can feel the weight of it as Sheldon reaches the top of the stairs. The balance; him alone with a door either side offering the same comfortable life however one is safe and familiar the other new and unfamiliar. Amy appears and gets it instantly and makes to leave by disappearing into 4B. We get the philosophical idea line again. Always used by Sheldon to help with anyone with a tough decision but instead of the 'Shrodingers coitus' idea which needs an explanation by Sheldon, Amy understands the dilemma and the reference and can expand on it and offer something new. As she does this she offers him the eggplant, a newly adopted symbol of sex/wanting sex. This is the extra she can offer over life in 4a but it's delivered calmly and sensitively. Amy wants him to be 'hungry' for nothing in life. She then leaves and the scales are rebalanced for a second but the tipping point has gone he now has the eggplant and also due to the science talk the balance is off the scales tip and he walks without a backwards glance, in the end, into 4B. So clever and so full of symbolism. Next week of course we get over the top seduction. Not Amy's style at all. Sex will come when they find the balance, the last piece in the jigsaw. During the scene there is a kind of silence rarely seen on this show. Everyone must have been holding their breath.
April
Good morning, fellow Shamies!!! OMG WHAT A GREAT EPISODE!!!! <3 As per usual my Shamy thoughts on this - though much of it has probably already been said by the rest of you so apologies for being repetitive: - FWF! LMAO They have an opening song now I LOVE IT SO MUCH! And FotM are their house band. Amazing! And the theme of he episode is so cute, as noted yesterday. SQUEEE!! Also, Shamy tidying up together. Awww. - Amy is such a terrible liar! LOL Even Sheldon notices something is up... I love how she knows she can bait him with some topic of debate and I love how he recognises that but is going along for now cause dammit that woman knows how to get his motor running! <3 - Aww, poor Sheldon at the dinner being so worried that he can't eat or sleep. I'm glad though that Leonard is telling him right away that it's just because she enjoys living with him so much - and Sheldon is SO relieved to hear that! <3 It really takes all the drama out of the lying issue, thank goodness! I think it's also fair that Sheldon doesn't want dishonesty in his relationship and he isn't up for Howard's suggestions. Good boy! - The Shelnard/Pamy scenes were so great. Shelnard checking the bedroom for the missing collectibles was cute. And Pamy on the stairs were hilarious! Then the Klingon! And Ubbi Dubbi! It's great to see the friendships in action like that. - The whole lying was really not that big of a drama and I loved Amy's sincere apology. Bless Raj for asking the right questions! I love Sheldon admitting that the experiment was a positive experience. For some reason I thought he's make the decision right then and there but at first he's cautiously calling it a "possibility" so there's still some pondering going on. And even at that Amy is surprise and happy. Loved Penny's "Amy, be cool!" LOL - So I take it Sheldon's room will indeed become a mancave. LOL ALSO YES THE WHOLE GANG IS THERE FOR DINNER!! <3 - The bed scene!!! SQUEEEE!!! I love Amy thanking him for understanding. I love the casualness of the good night kiss - like, that definitely happens every night now! EEEK!! - Sheldon still wondering about where they'd live. A bit of a bummer that he hates her apartment though. Come on, Sheldon! For a place you apparently hated you looked pretty comfy there! But I guess that's just to ensure that the audience doesn't wonder what they're not moving there. - Anyway, Amy trying to soothe him by humming Star Trek. I love that he doesn't want to be treated like a child. Reject that mothering dynamic, yes! But I also love that Amy can be his good night juke box and is apparently able to hum quite a few classic sci-fi themes! LOL THE SNUGGLE IS SO CUTE!!!! And again so casual, no big deal, they do that now, y'all!! <3 - LMAO Sheldon's nightmare! And it looks like he discussed it with the guys. He's still pondering about his decision and the answer is blindingly obvious. He loves her and enjoys living with her. AWWWW <3 - OMG THE HALLWAY SCENE! I really like how this shows the big step he's doing here. Sheldon leaving 4A isn't handled casually - it's a big decision for him, crippling to a point as per his philosophical analogy. And along comes Amy and saves him by being patient and understanding as she always is. And she only wants his best and not let him starve while he ponders his decision so she gives him some food - literally in form of the egglant but also figurative "food for thought" (hehe) by effortlessly conversing of that philosophical topic with him. And that's when his decision is made. When he follows her into 4B it feels both monumental but also natural because they're perfect for each other!! <3 - And I'm so sorry to drag this beautiful scene into the dirt but, they could have let Amy give him any other food item and yet they opted for the goddamn eggplant. While they're having a stimulating debate and we all know what that does to Sheldon. I mean, seriously writers. I just... - I love how Leonard just barges into 4B at the end to hide some of Penny's decoration. LOL They'll continue to treat 4A/B as one big apartment and everything's right with the world of TBBT! Other things: - OMG THE PROMO I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL SURVIVE THIS JFC!?!!!! spidergirl
Morning , fellow shamies! I promise I will read all your thoughts, give likes, all that stuff. But now I have to take this out of my chest, because I am so Happy!!! *grins* Episode 7 was really one of my shamy favourites all time! I loved everything about it, my apologies if this post turned a bit messed because I dont know where to start but I need to share with you what I think about the episode, you know. J *Fun with Flags was funny and cute,I loved the mention of places that became one as they got a single flag, as our shamy. I loved Raj and Howard there with their "Footprints on the moon". This episode was so well written, in a way deep and funny and the interactions between all characters were really good. It was so good to see how they are involved in each others lifes, for better and worse. *Sheldon really knows how read Amy now. He really became a caring guy for his girl. It kind of broke my heart as he said he was worried about her that he coukdnt sleep or eat. Amy is and always be a bad liar but she really disdt want to do that, but it was for a good cause I think. Certainly I hope she stops to lie to Sheldon but I think that situation was a single one, you know. The fear of losing Sheldon was big, even he has been proving to her thatshe doesn’t need to feel so insecure. However for the other signs about how she is doing in their relationship, it shows that she has all her heart into their relationship with Sheldon and I am not worried about a single lie at all. The way Amy took care of Sheldon as he had the nightmare, the way she sang for calm him down in a panick attack, Amy loves Sheldon so much and understands him better. He knows that too and it makes him be able to be into more their relationship with all his heart. And I melted here so much! *Did you notice as Penny said Amy lied for love, Sheldon quickly forgave her? I mean, we could see it in his eyes. During the rest of the scene, as Amy spoke to Penny and to Bernie, Sheldon’s eyes were saying all what was needed. When Amy apologied to him, that “that’s okay “ was so so cool, you know. Like “I have already forgiven you because I understand why you did it”. How Shelley is grown up! *The kligon and Amy’s language scene was so funny! Love those two couples interacting! *The bed scene, could I ask for more perfection? No, it was perfect! The pillow talk (Jim must be over the moon this season , really, lol!) was so spot on, they are so confortable as they talk about their lives together. And that kiss, wow! I knew it was a peck on lips but it was a kind of passionate peck on lips, you know? And it is usual for them, as Amy said good night, looked at Sheldon smiling and lightly get close to him and he didn’t hesitate a second and kissed her! I am so proud of Sheldon and Amy! *It was so cool as Sheldon said he was open to live with Amy! More, he is really into it! Even before the halway scene, he was already determined. Cant help myself of being so happy as he talked about a new place for them if they wont stay at 4B in near future. *That pause as Sheldon was in silence after he said for Amy didnt sing because he was not a child was so great. And then he found another thing he loves about Amy: Amy singing for him sci fi tunes as she cuddle him Those two kill me of feelings! *The hallway scene it was one of the best scenes I have ever seen in tbbt. I love how Sheldon expressed his concerns through a philosophal tesis and how Amy would just get it as it was a way that they communicate with each other through intelectual fatcs, The fact that she didn’t push him, didn’t sugest anything for Sheldon made his choice was so meaningfull. Amy just said she would not want him to suffer and no matter what, she was waiting for him, She loves him and he knows it. Without mocking and without pressure, As soon as Sheldon understood that he has loved is life so far but there is a new chapter to come that he is really looking for as it makes him happier, he followed Amy. And I squirmed here with delight! *Tag scene. I must say that I loved all Lenny stuff in this episode, it was great as it was funny and realistic. That sex dungeon, lol! Did you notice how relaxed Sheldon seemed as he was sat on couch working in his laptop? He finnaly found home J Now I understand better why Sheldon gets to a seducing Amy journey, lol! That sex dungeon in Sheldon’s room as he dreamed of it…what is going on in our Shelley’s mind, lol? Amy, you have the final word about what is going on in Sheldon’s mind! Cant wait for next episodes badly!

Jonny
Morning all! So much to go through really it was such a packed episode but I will try and keep it brief and talk mainly about Shamy stuff: First and foremost I loved the episode and thought it was actually my favorite all round episode of the season so far. As a comedy you go off the laugh factor and I laughed pretty much all the way through it and each scene and storyline kept me interested. The return of FWF! I thought it was very cool for Shamy to host an episode in a new place and surroundings. I don't know if they had in material form a checklist of things they wanted to try whilst living in a new place or not or whether it was in their heads but hosting a show in 4B was a very cool idea and a good test. FWF is their baby, such a big part of their lives together and it was great to see them hosting it in their place. Whichever writer in the writing room came up with the idea to have Footprints on the Room perform was a fricking genius. LOVED IT!, the theme tune for the show was so good and Amy was getting so into it lol. I also liked the sounds effects that they could provide for dramatic effect/jokes and Sheldon's barb was funny when he said he liked it but they should have run it by him lol. That's Sheldon all over, when he experiences something new or someone gets a good idea he likes it but then says stuff like that. Not sure they will be there all the time, I hope we see Footprints again on a FWF episode it could be a fun way to get Howard and Raj more socializing with Shamy, but Howard was getting bored lol. Maybe like I said the other day at the very least they should record and use that song with Howard and Raj's permission of course. LOVED the theme of the show. Two nations coming together in a union and adopting a new flag with colors from both nations, reflects an interesting topic for their FWF show but also mirrors some of the recent changes in their lives and going forward. Maybe also another small reminder at the engagement looming again on the horizon perhaps? Sheldon saw through the lies pretty quickly, lol at Amy's attempts to change conversation. She actually succeeded in picking a topic that would hold his interest for now but the end Sheldon still acknowledged she was changing conversation but went along with it anyway as it was a stimulating discussion. These two! The allure of their minds is just so strong, more on that later! I really enjoyed the cafeteria scenes and in particular Leonard showing real concern for his best friend. I have been very critical this season so far over their interactions, I thought the bromance and having each others back has been lacking for a while but this episode showed us it's still there. Leonard had Sheldon's back with the apartment lie and Sheldon has Leonard's back with his collectibles being put into storage. Some other things really struck me in those cafeteria scenes: 1. A clear sign that Sheldon is getting used to living with Amy so much so that he notices when something is off. We have all seen progress over the weeks with them being more comfortable together but this episode makes you really realize that. 2. We get a sign that Sheldon isn't as mad as he seems with the lie. I mean a lie is a lie to Sheldon he doesn't like them at all no matter how big no matter how small. But he also says he is flattered that Amy would lie to him because she wants to spend more time with him. I think that also plays a part in why in the end he wasn't that mad and he accepted her apology so quickly. More on that later! LOVED the scene with Amy and Penny walking up the stairs. LOL at Amy trying to lie she is so bad a liar, well both her and Sheldon really are lol. A 'Wall store', I mean really Amy! LOL. Penny says she has her back, another sign of the burgeoning PAmy friendship here. The Klingon/Ubbi Dubbi scene is one of my favorite scenes EVER on the show! I watched it like 15 times when the sneak peek came out and I still enjoyed it when watching the whole episode. It was so fucking funny with Sheldon and Leonard speaking Klingon and Amy and Penny Ubbi Dubbi and them not being able to understand what the other were saying. Even Howard got in on the Klingon when he Bernie and Raj turned up LOL Back to the lie itself Leonard summed it up best at the cafeteria it was a 'white lie'. But maybe it was a kind of reverse white lie, in the sense that when you tell a white lie you do it to avoid hurting someone or someone else's feelings e.g. I like your jumper when secretly I think it's hideous. Amy told this lie because she in a way didn't want to hurt her own feelings for fear of getting the answer she didn't want i.e. to stop living together. Sheldon was hurt that she lied to him but in the end was forgiving because of a few factors. 1. In the cafeteria when Leonard told him what was going on he said was upset yes but also flattered. We all know he has a big ego and sometimes switches a situation to being all about him. Moth to a flame for example, or the time when Amy wanted to show him off to her relatives but he was having a gaming day instead and when he was pulled up on it he said I could understand why you wanted to show me off. He said he was flattered that Amy lied because she wanted to spend more time with him. 2. He's on the same page as her, she doesn't know this because they don't always communicate that well or that because the whole thing was framed as an experiment so it's hard to judge is it just the experiment or does Sheldon genuinely want this? We all know the answer, but maybe she doesn't. 3. Penny's comments struck him as well. He loves Amy just as much as she loves him and he has enjoyed living with her just as much as she has. Amy's reaction when Sheldon told her that he thought the experience was positive and he was open to still living with her was so good. She was immediately shocked and surprised but then that was about to turn into great joy and happiness. LOL at Penny using Ubbi Dubbi to tell her to play her reaction cool before she got overexcited in front of the rest of the gang. Loved the bed scene, that line with Sheldin saying I understand why you lied and that he's like a 'Man made of sugar in a world of ants' was GENIUS. THANK YOU writers for allowing us to see another snuggle but also the goodnight kiss. I will imagine going forward and it's canon in my mind now that they do a goodnight kiss every night. LOVED the Star Trek hum, Amy seemed so proud of it despite Sheldon saying I am not a child LOL. 2001: A Space Odyssey and Amy knows the theme tune! They both looked so happy snuggling up together with Amy humming that tune. The talk about where to live was so interesting. At one moment I thought OMFG are they proposing a spin off show here with Shamy moving somewhere else perhaps cross country? Or simply going to move them to another building like Amy's apartment or somewhere else? But then I realized it was just Sheldon freaking out and overreacting again, though Amy did seem intrigued about perhaps having a new house or was that just me? Anyways I think it will stay as it is now, with Shamy in 4B and Lenny in 4A, moving one of those couples to a new house al a Howardette I don't think would work. More on that later! The Sex dungeon, OMFG Sheldon's mind LOL! I thought it was so well decorated lol, the EDM music lol, not a fan of seeing Leonard all chained up but I would imagine some would have liked it lol, I didn't mind the Penny bit lol. The comic book scene towards the end was also fun. Howard as expected wanted more details about the dream, lol at the 'were the chaps ass less' and Raj saying they always are. LISTEN to your friends Sheldon and don't over complicate things, you love Amy you love living with her just go with your heart! WOW they saved for me the most interesting scene of the lot to the end. Sheldon pausing in the hallway like he was at a crossroads, go through door no.1 back to your old life with your old comforts, your old homeostasis with all your belongings or door no.2 go and live with the woman you love, embrace those new experiences and possibilities. Amy then turns up and asks what he is doing and because Amy is so learned and so utterly brilliant she knows what the conundrum is much to Sheldon's surprise. I like the way she handled that situation, I think she knew perhaps if he went back to 4A through door no.1 then their relationship could be in some real trouble and she would end up getting hurt. But she provided her own take on it and then let Sheldon decide. Sheldon finds her intellect or her mind so sexy and loves her so much he goes to 4B. We didn't get an official, 'they are living together permanently' but that powerful scene to me kind of indicated that without actually saying it. He chose 4B, he chose to be with Amy going forward. He could have gone back to his old life but he didn't and that's fucking huge! Well that turned out to be more long winded than I thought so apologies! I look forward to going back over the thread as I haven't seen the responses yet as I wanted to get my take out there before doing so. I could go into more detail but I have said enough lol, but I am looking forward to talking about specific parts of that excellent episode in the coming days and reading all the reactions from my fellow Shamy's! Damri82
Hello…(Newbie, TBBT fan, and just dropping in with my comments on 10.07) I could have posted this in the episode thread, however, as a fellow Shamy shipper, the inference of this post in the Shamy thread will be justified… 1) FWF – familiar show with a new premise accompanied by an AWESOME musical duo who, although didn’t get compensated for money AND/OR food (the horror! I agree with Raj…not even a sandwich?!), still contributed to a refreshing take on an already VERY FRESH educational program (internet or otherwise). Shamy were so adorable in this episode of FWF. Budapest is BudaBest J 2) GOOD NIGHT – For me, it was the kiss in bed that had the most impact on me in terms of moving the physical aspect of their relationship forward. Such a sweet and tender moment between Shamy. It appeared so natural and routinely domestic for partners who live and share a bed together. Their prior kisses were always a treat, and this one was no less, but the kiss in this episode indicated a shift in the Shamy dynamic (for me, at least). 3) OLD WORLD vs. NEW WORLD – The hallway scene between 4A and 4B will forever be ingrained in my memory as one of the most pivotal moments in the evolution of Shamy. As I reflect back on the season 8 finale and season 9, I’m actually content with the Shamy storylines (the fallout from Amy’s decision to re-think the relationship, Sheldon’s impatience for Amy to make up her mind on their relationship status, the breakup, the anger, the attempt at a platonic friendship, the heartache, new suitors, revelations, the fantastic makeup kiss(es), coitus, confiding secrets, and a game of “Never Have I Ever J). Now that TBBT are nearly a third into season 10, the payoff is all the more satisfying with Shamy moving in together (albeit, treated as an experiment at the beginning...and still ongoing) because, IMO, it really does feel like a natural progression into the marriage proposal. I really LOVED this episode. It is one of my favorites. Oh, and the Pasadena, Altadena comment?…how about moving to San Marino or Arcadia? (for anyone who’s curious, I’m just excited to hear mentions of towns that are within my vicinity – GO SGV!!!)
Kathy2611
1 hour ago, April said: Good morning, fellow Shamies!!! You know why though don't you?

LOL It makes me furious (in a good way) that the hallway scene can be seen as this wonderful representation of Sheldon deciding between his old life and his new one etc etc etc... And then you can also break it down to: Amy is giving Sheldon a boner. THE WRITERS ARE A BUNCH OF GIGGLING TEENAGERS!! (I love them for that.)
