Jonny
I would like to echo what others have said about the hallway scene. I thought it was a beautiful, sad but also kind of a happy scene all at the same time with the outcome especially. That scene alone is Emmy worthy, the writing was just top notch and Mayim and Jim acted their asses off with that scene. You want to see the struggles of the mind Sheldon battles when trying to evolve you see it right there. You see why Amy is probably the most intelligent person on the show in my view . You want to see why Sheldon loves Amy so much and the power of the mind plays in their relationship more than most couples just watch that scene. You want to see in basic terms she just gets him like nobody else just watch that. That analysis sounds very Sheldon centric but that was because he was making that decision, go through door no.1 or door no.2 going forward. Amy handled that situation so well and it must have been tough for her, she knew what would be the likely outcome had he gone into 4A. I think it would have created an existential crisis when it comes to their relationship and she would have known that. I'm not going to lie I shed a tear watching that and I am happy to admit that. Will have to see what further goodies we get from Season 10, but when Tensor does his Shamy moments list hopefully before Season 11 this moment is going right near the top. As it stands It's my number one now for sure. Edited November 4, 2016 by Jonny
kelliluvtbbt
I agree with everything posted so far so I'm not going to say what an excellent way to resolve such a difficult issue this was nor am I going to say how much Sheldon has changed (for the better... even he realized that he wasn't Spock). I will leave you with this: * and I refuse to accept that people don't change ..EVEN ON TV SHOWS... when they fall in love OR that some people are incapable of falling in love. Now that's just malarkey! Edited November 4, 2016 by kelliluvtbbt

It is so great to see how Sheldon and Amy bond grows deeper in this season. It makes me so proud of far they have been together. And how their relationship is stronger than ever What was very intersiting too ( so many interisting things about this episode that I know I forgot to speak about some meanwhile ) was how Sheldon has thought about they eventually get a new place and he has not brought the engagement question yet for the table. IMO it makes sense as what matters is you are happy with your so, marriage is more like a question of oficialize it through a signed contract. However we are talking about Sheldon, who was the man of signed contracts and similar stuff, lol! Am I sense here a Sheldon 's plan to propose Amy through a surprise party or something? My head is boiling with shamy goodness, cant help myself! Edited November 4, 2016 by spidergirl

Ginny Hamilton
3 hours ago, April said: Good morning, fellow Shamies!!! OMG WHAT A GREAT EPISODE!!!! <3 As per usual my Shamy thoughts on this - though much of it has probably already been said by the rest of you so apologies for being repetitive: - FWF! LMAO They have an opening song now I LOVE IT SO MUCH! And FotM are their house band. Amazing! And the theme of he episode is so cute, as noted yesterday. SQUEEE!! Also, Shamy tidying up together. Awww. - Amy is such a terrible liar! LOL Even Sheldon notices something is up... I love how she knows she can bait him with some topic of debate and I love how he recognises that but is going along for now cause dammit that woman knows how to get his motor running! <3 - Aww, poor Sheldon at the dinner being so worried that he can't eat or sleep. I'm glad though that Leonard is telling him right away that it's just because she enjoys living with him so much - and Sheldon is SO relieved to hear that! <3 It really takes all the drama out of the lying issue, thank goodness! I think it's also fair that Sheldon doesn't want dishonesty in his relationship and he isn't up for Howard's suggestions. Good boy! - The Shelnard/Pamy scenes were so great. Shelnard checking the bedroom for the missing collectibles was cute. And Pamy on the stairs were hilarious! Then the Klingon! And Ubbi Dubbi! It's great to see the friendships in action like that. - The whole lying was really not that big of a drama and I loved Amy's sincere apology. Bless Raj for asking the right questions! I love Sheldon admitting that the experiment was a positive experience. For some reason I thought he's make the decision right then and there but at first he's cautiously calling it a "possibility" so there's still some pondering going on. And even at that Amy is surprise and happy. Loved Penny's "Amy, be cool!" LOL - So I take it Sheldon's room will indeed become a mancave. LOL ALSO YES THE WHOLE GANG IS THERE FOR DINNER!! <3 - The bed scene!!! SQUEEEE!!! I love Amy thanking him for understanding. I love the casualness of the good night kiss - like, that definitely happens every night now! EEEK!! - Sheldon still wondering about where they'd live. A bit of a bummer that he hates her apartment though. Come on, Sheldon! For a place you apparently hated you looked pretty comfy there! But I guess that's just to ensure that the audience doesn't wonder what they're not moving there. - Anyway, Amy trying to soothe him by humming Star Trek. I love that he doesn't want to be treated like a child. Reject that mothering dynamic, yes! But I also love that Amy can be his good night juke box and is apparently able to hum quite a few classic sci-fi themes! LOL THE SNUGGLE IS SO CUTE!!!! And again so casual, no big deal, they do that now, y'all!! <3 - LMAO Sheldon's nightmare! And it looks like he discussed it with the guys. He's still pondering about his decision and the answer is blindingly obvious. He loves her and enjoys living with her. AWWWW <3 - OMG THE HALLWAY SCENE! I really like how this shows the big step he's doing here. Sheldon leaving 4A isn't handled casually - it's a big decision for him, crippling to a point as per his philosophical analogy. And along comes Amy and saves him by being patient and understanding as she always is. And she only wants his best and not let him starve while he ponders his decision so she gives him some food - literally in form of the egglant but also figurative "food for thought" (hehe) by effortlessly conversing of that philosophical topic with him. And that's when his decision is made. When he follows her into 4B it feels both monumental but also natural because they're perfect for each other!! <3 - And I'm so sorry to drag this beautiful scene into the dirt but, they could have let Amy give him any other food item and yet they opted for the goddamn eggplant. While they're having a stimulating debate and we all know what that does to Sheldon. I mean, seriously writers. I just... - I love how Leonard just barges into 4B at the end to hide some of Penny's decoration. LOL They'll continue to treat 4A/B as one big apartment and everything's right with the world of TBBT! Other things: - OMG THE PROMO I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL SURVIVE THIS JFC!?!!!! But how do you really feel, April!? I'm delighted to agree with everything you've said. It was a beauty of an episode.....yes!
kimbee73
I am not sure if I can say anything else that hasn't been said already. I absolutely loved every aspect of this episode. And the hallway scene just made me so happy. He just casually walked into 4B like it was the most natural thing in the world. It was 100% where he belonged and he knew it. I just said at the end to my father-in-law(Whom I watch the show with every week) YAY living arrangements are finally settled. I do agree with everyone that I would love to see them in a bigger apartment of their own but for now I want to see them make 4B their own until they decide to move. Now onto next week and seductive Sheldon......
Maddie
Can we all just a take a moment to think back to just two and a half years a go - the season 7 finale - when Leonard suggested to Sheldon that he move out of the apartment so Penny and him could live there together and then Amy suggested to Sheldon that they live together. Sheldon was so distraught and so freaked out that he actually ran away and spent a month on a train so that he could think through all the chaos in his life. He was so distressed by even the suggestion of change and living with his girlfriend that he physically could not be there anymore and he just completely broke down. Which is what makes this episode so poignant and heavy and just monumental. The simplicity of him following Amy into 4B after taking a moment to contemplate this huge decision in his life simply because she proved herself once again that she understands him and relates to him like no other human being can is just so perfect. I just can't get over how beautiful it was shown to be a huge decision for him, and yet when it comes right down to it, the decision is simple. Effortless. Subconscious, even. Because being with Amy is simple. When Sheldon stops thinking so much and just feels and just does, he never hesitates.

OnlyonTuesdays
I'm a long-time lurker on this thread, but the elegance and joy of this episode has inspired me to join in the conversations I've enjoyed reading so much. In addition to agreeing with all of the great points of the episode already mentioned, my other favorite moment was Sheldon's "throw-away" line as he walked into 4B and his new, chosen life with Amy: "you think you know a guy . . . ". I wonder how much the writers have been hearing or anticipating comments similar to some of those in the Discussion thread - "it can't last", "he's only with Amy now because she's tricked him into it", "this is too OOC for Sheldon" etc - and decided to address them this way. I loved the hallway scene, both for its simplicity and it's depth, and those final words made me think that even if Sheldon is somewhat surprised at how relatively easy it is for him to choose Amy at this point, it is happening and it is his choice. I'd love to see a writing Emmy nomination come out of this episode as well as recognition for both Jim and Mayim's sterling performances. Can't wait for 10x08! There's nothing much to add - you guys have said it all, to me this episode was just perfection ! The bed scenes were so well written, having Amy so tender and caring and yet not Motherly, but "wife" like - awwwww, that kiss was so adorable, and Sheldon's smile after it ! The hallway - wow- just wow, I was blown away , it to me just was so perfect , I've read so many inspirational posts today on the scene - that made me re watch a love it ever more a second time, such symbolism the writers did the BEST job ! It all showed so much how perfect they are together and for each other - NO ONE gets him like his Amy does, and she loves him just the way he is ! PERFECTION ! I couldn't stop laughing at that bit when Penny told her to act cool and not get overexcited in Ubbi Dubbi lol. So many great moments in this episode. That was a sweet moment, and it also explained why Amy lied. She really thought Sheldon was in just for the experiment, he also had said so during FwF. She had never contemplate that could be a permanent situation, so she tried to prolong it a bit. When Sheldon said he was open to the possibility of living together, it was so happy, it was tender to watch. I laughed so hard to Penny saying her to be "cool", that was a reminder of how their friendship started, with Penny being the expert in human behavior she looked at. Nonetheless, she didn't pressure Sheldon at all to make the final decision. In the bedroom scene, she was not the one who broach the subject of where they should live and she seemed very concerned about Sheldon being at ease with the decision. In the stairwell scene, it is even better, she just left him the space to think and to realize what he wanted to do.
