In the stairwell scene, it is even better, she just left him the space to think and to realize what he wanted to do. yep he needed to make this choice on his own and that he did. Our girl put no pressure. Its so beautiful!

heres2U
I am still reeling from the episode last night. I had to sneak upstairs to rewatch it a few times (I certainly don't want my family to think I'm obsessed or anything . ) It's really cool that the critics are loving this episode. They are repeating some of the same things you guys have written. You guys ROCK Part of the beauty of this episode is that it completely caught me off guard. I mean, obviously I'm spoiled and had read the TR. But I didn't expect to get so emotional (that hallway scene OMG!!!!). I was looking at this episode as sort of a filler, just to get to 10:8. Boy, was I wrong. Best episode in a long, long time!
Judith
I don't know what else to add without being repetitive here. The episode was perfect from beginning to end. - Did you guys catch the suggestiveness of the moves Shamy were making during the FotM song in the beginning? LOL - I loved how effortlessly Sheldon said that he loves Amy and likes living with her. - Also loved the bed scenes and the kiss! And Amy being sassy even in Sheldon's subconscious. - I'm in awe of the hallway scene and have no words to describe it lol. It was the perfect way to resolve Sheldon's "dilemma" (was it really a dilemma?). He just waltzed into 4b in the end like it was nothing, because he belongs wherever Amy is! Seriously, what has that woman done to him? And the dialogue and the acting, the way Sheldon kept responding to Amy...This kind of scenes with her is when he's at his most profound. As for the eggplant, well...message received Yeah, I liked this episode more than I thought I would. It's one of my favourites now, and that hallway scene will definitely go in my top ten. 1 hour ago, Jonny said: Me too and I am also planning a third watch later tonight. What did everyone think about Amy's reaction when Sheldon told her more or less he was on the same page? I couldn't stop laughing at that bit when Penny told her to act cool and not get overexcited in Ubbi Dubbi lol. So many great moments in this episode. I thought Amy's reaction was sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. No wonder she lied to Sheldon about her apartment. Also Penny's "Amy be cool" was very sweet. She has her back and is protective of her, as we saw here.

littleknee
So this was one of my favorite episodes probably ever. I can’t say enough good things about it. I haven’t read everyone’s responses yet so apologies for repetition but wow! I was so impressed and wanted to share random thoughts. Aside from the hallway scene – one of my favorite scenes is right after Amy admits to lying to Sheldon. When she’s talking to Bernie & Howard, he stands behind her and can’t take his eyes off of her. He’s hurt (because he loves her) but also touched – all the emotions he talks about in the cafeteria are so plainly registered on his face. There’s such tension and weight to that whole scene. When they turn toward each other and Amy apologizes, it’s like you can feel the energy between them. I love how the gang is supportive of them throughout the episode and recognize how much they love each other and how right they are for each other. I love that at the beginning Leonard wants to watch FWF because it’s cute to see how in love they are (Yay for shipper Leonard! And a nice antidote to his disinterest and casting off of Sheldon lately) But mostly you can feel their support in the living room scene. It’s like the opposite of the D&D episode. The gang is gathered during a Shamy crisis … instead of dismissing or making fun of their relationship, they recognize, support and celebrate it. Then the scene in the comic book store just confirms it all even more … and it’s always nice to get a resounding confirmation of how much Sheldon loves Amy in front of other people The attention Sheldon pays Amy throughout this episode is so fantastic. Up until the beginning of this season even, there was a dismissiveness that Sheldon showed to Amy – particularly in group settings. I’ve noticed that he sometimes seems to ignore Amy’s presence and address Leonard and Penny first. He often saves his affection for her for when they are alone. But when they are all in that living room together during this episode, it’s like they are the only people there. I also LOVE how they wrote Amy. In my mind, she has been an underused goldmine in recent seasons – particularly last year. Here, she was complex and nuanced and funny and brainy. I thought Mayim’s portrayal of Amy’s bad lying (kind of like her bad acting) was amazing. The scene in the hall with Penny and the dry wall cracked me up! Sure, if we’re talking in-universe, it’s a bummer that Amy felt she had to lie … but I’m glad they let her be a flawed character and have to genuinely apologize. I’m glad they let Sheldon be the one who is transgressed against and have to forgive. To be clear, this is not because I’m not an Amy fan. I’m a HUGE Amy fan. The best characters are flawed ones. I just want them to be willing to delve into her complexity. Having Sheldon be more of the straight man was an awesome change of pace. They really are willing to go new routes this season. The scene in the hallway was kind of beautiful. I’m sure it’s been talked to death already but what struck me was that it felt so weighty and weightless at the same time. It was like a scene from an existential play. I really felt the intensity of Sheldon’s crisis and how effortlessly Amy brought him back down to earth because of how right they are together and how much they love each other. I forgot the writers had this kind of thing in them. It’s like they are creatively reborn. I bet they’re enjoying this season as much as we are There were also little nuances spread throughout the episode that I just loved: How casual Sheldon and Amy were when they were discussing food like a sweet domestic couple (no more Thai food happening on a specific night). How excited they both seemed (before Sheldon freaked out) about the openness of their future together. How effortlessly Amy comforts, touches, cuddles and kisses Sheldon. The goodnight kiss (awwwww). How relaxed Sheldon was sitting on the couch at the end. He really did have to change his entire life for this pseudo move and that’s HUGE. The writing was also amazing in general. I loved the callbacks to both Klingon and Ubbi Dubbi. “Damnit,” … “Amy, be cool.” They used the whole cast so seamlessly together. The plot in general seemed so organic to the characters rather than manufactured drama to advance plot and character development. The best thing to me is when the seams become invisible and I can just feel transported to the characters’ world and this episode really delivered. Sylphadora
I just watched the episode and it's so good. Here's the Shamy goodness I loved: - Amy changing the subject and Sheldon falling for it even if he found her behaviour suspicious, lol - Sheldon not only noticing that something was off with Amy, but also being genuinely worried about her to the point he wouldn't even sleep or eat - Sheldon not making a big deal out of Amy lying to him once she apologized - Sheldon puckering up for the good-night kiss like it's so second nature - Of course, the 2001: A Space Odyssey lullaby - 'That's my girl,' even if it was just a dream sequence - Sheldon so openly admitting his love for Amy and how much he enjoys living with her (comic book store scene) - Amy outsmarting Sheldon and him finally choosing 4B without even realising it - Sheldon so settled in his new apartment at the tag scene I think I just listed every single Shamy scene, lol I have a question... Has Sheldon dropped his dinner schedule, too? I couldn't believe it when Amy asked him what he fancied for dinner. Since when is he OK with choosing dinner at the moment? I can't believe this is the same guy who was so against anything-can-happen-Thursday He's changed so much! I also liked how Howard and Raj wrote an opening theme for FwF despite knowing it's not the most popular show. I love it when they show with actions that they do care and that they are actually very good friends with Sheldon even if he can be a pain in the ass. And they are big Shamy shippers, too I liked how Raj point-blank asked Sheldon if he did want to keep living with Amy, but my special mention goes to Howard - I loved how he tried helping Sheldon figure out if he wanted to live with Amy by saying 'it's not complicated!' and asking the right questions: 'Do you love Amy?' and 'Do you enjoy living with Amy?' I like love-coach Howard! Edited November 4, 2016 by Sylphadora

First one of them to get married and will be the first one to become a parent out of the guys. You still see the old Howard at times and his snark is just as effective as anybody's on the show but there are times where his maturity and wisdom shines. I actually really enjoy the Howard/Sheldon interactions a lot, not the jokes necessarily but like I said when they have a rare moment consoling each other moment or providing some advice. For all the shit these guys give each other at times and all the mickey taking they do still have each other's back. On a side note whoever wrote this line take a bow: AMY: Thank you for understanding. SHELDON: Hey I get it, everybody wants to spend more time with me. I’m like a man made of sugar in a world of ants. Edited November 4, 2016 by Jonny

Instead, he was like, "I don't know, we could eat Thai food close to your apartment." There's even appearance of growth in these tiny little things, and that's such good writing. But yes, you hit the nail on the head when you said the hallway scene was both so weighty and weightless at the same time. Like it's a really hard decision but it's not. It's kind of a paradox, but makes total sense when you take into account both Sheldon's extreme aversion to change and his trust and love for Amy. spidergirl
There is something I would like to talk about yet from this brilliant episode : the boys friendship. It has been great after 10 seasons as we can feel that those men are bonded forever, like they were relatives.I mean, they are bickering most of time but they really care for each other and that is so beautiful. Their interactions as they talked about each other personal issues were really well written in this episode, it reminds us of how they have been growing together, changing their lives but they always have time for doing things together and for helping each other as everytime they need it. I especially loved three scenes of them: 1) Leonard and Sheldon. I really loved how Leonard had to tell to Sheldon Amy's lie as he got worried for his buddy that wasnt eating and sleeping well of worry for his girlfriend. Leonard usually made sarcastic remarks about Sheldon but when he senses that Sheldon is not well for some reason, Leonard does something for fixing it and that is what means true friendhip. Looking foward to see more of their interactions as they are in a new chapter of their lives, one married and the other almost be. 2) Raj asking Sheldon about his and Amy cohabitation experience. I love how Raj and Howard always remind us that they were who helped Sheldon to get his perfect match in romance field. I really liked as Raj was concerned about the impact of the Amy's white lie in his friends 's relationship. About Howards's advices, well, as Leonard hinted , they should not be followed, lol! 3)The boys at comic store. This episode really had the best of classic tbbt episodes scenarios and the comic store is always perfect for more serious talks among the boys. That sequence of questions they did to Sheldon for helping him to figure out that was simple for him to make a choice about la because Sheldon loves Amy was so sweet ans caring. If we will see Sheldon and Amy's wedding ceremony on the show, I'd want to see a Raj and a Howard speech about the day they helped Sheldon to became a real man, lol! BTW, I have noticed as I have watched the episode for the fouth time that Amy has on her nightstand a magazine . Maybe something about Neurobiology. Cant wait to see more of shamy stuff in 4B. He can be snarky and do not-so-good stuff like hide things from his wife and friends to have 'leverage' on them should he need it in the future, but deep down he's a sweetheart and really cares. He never lets his friends down even if he makes fun of them, like when he made Sheldon do all his chores in exchange for giving his research to Stephen Hawking, and then we found out that he had given his research to Hawking three days earlier, as if he was planning on doing it all along no matter what Sheldon had done. 2 hours ago, Jonny said: I actually really enjoy the Howard/Sheldon interactions a lot, not the jokes necessarily but like I said when they have a rare moment consoling each other moment or providing some advice. For all that the show has relied on Sheldon demeaning Howard's profession and lack of a PhD, I really enjoyed the episodes with Sheldon & Howard's heart-to-hearts, like the one on the plane or when Sheldon had to write a clause in their contract specifying that he would not make fun of Howard anymore. I hope we get more like those! Forgot to mention! When I first read the taping report and the spoilers, I first thought that Leonard was disloyal to Amy blabbing her lie to Sheldon like that without even confronting her first like Penny did, but after watching the episode I actually felt grateful to Leonard. He was the one who noticed Sheldon was not OK and asked him about it. He learnt that the thought of Amy being in trouble was making Sheldon really worried about her, but he knew that she was really OK and Sheldon had nothing to worry about in that regard, so he put him out of his misery. He just wanted to reassure him. That's actually kind of sweet. He's a good friend.
vonmar
I like to watch twice before commenting.....so This episode was a perfect mix of group and solo stories. The whole living together experiment has exceeded my wildest dreams! I am more convinced than ever that Shamy will end up in 4B. The set decorators would have a field day re-doing that apartment for Shamy. Bring in Amy's couch with the afghan draped over the back, tone down the colors, bring in Amy's bigger bed. They can do so much with that set, out of sight lines, fudging the apartment size. That hallway scene...perfectly written and acted. Then the comments about how many significant BBT scenes take place there. It is really a bridge for many things that happen on this show. IMHO...excellent episode..a huge step forward. Riley7
I just watched the episode and I really liked it. It was funny and there was something genuine about it. But of course we're here to talk about our favorite couple, so let's see... 1. FwF's new name (I know it's not that new) really is catchy. The song not so much, but I can't hate FOTM. Any episode with fwf is a good one. Penny's news line was hilarious. 2. I always said Raj is a huge Shamy shipper. Totes one of us with his pretty blunt questions. My heart kind of melted when Sheldon said he loved Amy so easily, 'cos then I think about Prom and all fuss and then Earworm and all the fuss. I didn't mind the fuss, but I guess an "I love you" randomly will just always be better imo. 3. Awwww, good night kiss. Have to agree with everybody else. That's happening every night. How can it not? No hug today, but I can do with a nice peck on the lips. Also, loved that dream sequence. Oh Shelly, pillow breathing? (extra fact) while streaming this, the image froze and that kiss bed scene reloaded. So I got to see it twice without having to watch it again and again like some weirdo... although I've watched the episode 3 times already... #forscience.) 4. I did think Amy's apology was heartfelt and sincere. Although I don't like Shamy in a setup like that. I like for them to figure out their problems and solutions on their own. I guess because it's always been that way and I've gotten use to it. They've always been the couple the gang knew the least of and now it's like they're government owned! 5. Maybe it's my age, but I didn't get the hallway scene at first. I mean, I got it, but I didn't quite understand why so many of you loved that scene. When I watched it a second time I teared up a little. In one brief moment, every single Shamy scene that's ever taken place in between those two apartments flashed before my eyes. And I realized how far they've come as a couple and I couldn't help see the beauty in it. It was sad, but in the most wonderful way. Some random thoughts Sheldon's sex dungeon dream was so out of left field... how's that his first thought? This season's just been very funny. And I love how it's been like 7 episodes and no "funny" pseudo insult thrown Amy's way. I've been trying to figure out what Mayim's best season was so far (it's always been 6 for me, for some reason), but season 10's been great for her, from a comedy perspective. I live for her bad acting in fwf. I'd say it was a good episode. I kind of feel more mature after watching it, if that even makes sense. I just really enjoyed it. Season 10 is the best! jenafan
18 hours ago, Listgirl said: However the Hall scene: you can feel the weight of it as Sheldon reaches the top of the stairs. The balance; him alone with a door either side offering the same comfortable life however one is safe and familiar the other new and unfamiliar. Amy appears and gets it instantly and makes to leave by disappearing into 4B. We get the philosophical idea line again. Always used by Sheldon to help with anyone with a tough decision but instead of the 'Shrodingers coitus' idea which needs an explanation by Sheldon, Amy understands the dilemma and the reference and can expand on it and offer something new. As she does this she offers him the eggplant, a newly adopted symbol of sex/wanting sex. This is the extra she can offer over life in 4a but it's delivered calmly and sensitively. Amy wants him to be 'hungry' for nothing in life. She then leaves and the scales are rebalanced for a second but the tipping point has gone he now has the eggplant and also due to the science talk the balance is off the scales tip and he walks without a backwards glance, in the end, into 4B. So clever and so full of symbolism. I just absolutely love your analysis here and 100% agree. Amy can offer Sheldon so much more than his former creature comforts and companionship with Leonard. Unlike the guys who were unable to assist Sheldon with making a decision, here comes his girl to give him all the answers he needs just by being herself. I love the way she just leaves the door open, and he walks right on in and shuts it behind him. 18 hours ago, April said: Sheldon leaving 4A isn't handled casually - it's a big decision for him, crippling to a point as per his philosophical analogy. And along comes Amy and saves him by being patient and understanding as she always is. And she only wants his best and not let him starve while he ponders his decision so she gives him some food - literally in form of the eggplant but also figurative "food for thought" (hehe) by effortlessly conversing of that philosophical topic with him. And that's when his decision is made. When he follows her into 4B it feels both monumental but also natural because they're perfect for each other!! <3 - And I'm so sorry to drag this beautiful scene into the dirt but, they could have let Amy give him any other food item and yet they opted for the goddamn eggplant. While they're having a stimulating debate and we all know what that does to Sheldon. I mean, seriously writers. I just... I absolutely love and look forward to your delightful summaries at the end of each episode. What you shared here was done with such brilliance. I understood the significance of the eggplant as a phallic symbol, but I didn't think to associate it with the mental stimulation he gets from Amy that not only makes him all randy for her but gives him the intellectual attention he desperately craves. 12 minutes ago, Riley7 said: Sheldon's sex dungeon dream was so out of left field... how's that his first thought I may be stretching it a bit but: 1. Leonard mentioned turning his room into a game room. Bondage is considered a game between adults who partake. 4. Sheldon has pent up urges and sex on the brain. 5. It's the worst case scenario his mind can conjure up of what his room would become. spidergirl
Our dreams may have elements of what we lived or talked in recent days but most of times they dont make much sense. But usually they are kind of puzzle of our emotions and memories, old or recent. About Sheldon's dream I think @jenafan options made really sense. I'd like to ad that Sassy Amy was in the dream, that I think Sheldon likes that side of her and the way he said "That's my girl", which reflects that he thinks all the time that Amy is really his girl and he said it with a satisfied tone. My sentiments exactly. I would like to add something about Amy that I haven't seen addressed yet. Her lying, and explanation/apology, mirrored the Valentines/Train episode. Her mannerisms and voice were exactly the same as they were on the train, when she blurted that she wanted romance and didn't know how to go about it without deceiving him. She was caught out once again for lying to Sheldon for loving him so much and just wanting something romantic from him (a Valentines date, living together), and this time instead of Sheldon reacting with anger, fear, and petulance, he reacted maturely. He was flattered that her lies were because she wants to be with him, not because she wants to deceive him. And he accepted her apology graciously. Don't get me wrong; I love what happened on the train, as it resulted in Sheldon finally accepting his attraction to Amy. But it took him another two seasons to begin treating her with any kind of tenderness. She had waited so long for this, that I cannot fault her for being scared and lying out of that fear. Sure, their relationship has grown and lying is no longer a good road to go down, but old habits die hard when you're in love with Sheldon Cooper. I think a part of her will always worry that he's a flight risk. Also in the hallway scene, her voice is so resigned when she says I understand. She doesn't push him, because she truly respects him and understands his fears. It was beautiful to watch, knowing that Amy was aware he may still need time. It was precisely that berth she gave him that allowed him to finally choose her. Mary Cooper said it best: You've got to take your time with Sheldon. I thought it was a throwaway line that was put in there as a setup for Leonard so he could tell his best friend what was was going on. He showed some concern when he heard Bernadette tell him and Penny the truth about Amy's apartment. At the cafeteria you could tell Leonard was worried about him when Sheldon was telling them he noticed something isn't quite right but he tried to get him to relax. Then obviously the line about struggling to eat or sleep because of worry was the breaking point, he couldn't see his friend in distress any longer. The Shelnard bromance was in full force in that episode. If he was genuinely not eating or sleeping and Amy saw this then I think she would have told him, but then there would have been no story... Yeah, they've really really brought that connection to the forefront with that cohabitation experiment. I mean, as shippers we've kinda seen the signs for ages but right now the show is hitting the general audience over the head with it for everyone who didn't get the memo. Sheldon and Amy are incredibly compatible intellectually and their emotional and physical bond is a result of that - a true romance of the minds. I've said it before and I'll happily say it again: With this story line we've finally come full circle and brought back a lot of the intellectualism between them that sadly had to take the back-burner in times when the writing concentrated on developing their emotional and physical intimacy. But now that this is sorted out after their breakup that resulted in both appreciating what they have in the other, they have finally reached a state of equilibrium where all of these parts that make up their complex relationship are given equal opportunity to shine and their intellectual rapport is now explicitly linked to their emotional and physical closeness. Imo is really much better than having a talk based on useless or gossip stuff, which for me is pure waste of time, lol! Besides, if the man can dance and say smart things...Amy , you lucky girl! rice sheldon
Speaking of dreams, I had a rather nice dream last night. TBBT did do some kind of Halloween-themed episode where the gang went to some kind of party in a really nice house. Sheldon and Amy were dressed up as what looked like Darcy and Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice. At first I was confused as to why Sheldon actually let that happen... But then he whisked her away to another room, where he sat her down on the couch and proposed to her. Amy started crying and they kissed and it was really really nice. And then I came onto the forum to talk to you guys about the episode and everyone had made pictures of the proposal and quotes from it as their signatures and stuff, and you all were so happy. And then I woke up and realized it was just a dream. Damn.
