Speaking of dreams, I had a rather nice dream last night. TBBT did do some kind of Halloween-themed episode where the gang went to some kind of party in a really nice house. Sheldon and Amy were dressed up as what looked like Darcy and Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice. At first I was confused as to why Sheldon actually let that happen... But then he whisked her away to another room, where he sat her down on the couch and proposed to her. Amy started crying and they kissed and it was really really nice.

And then I came onto the forum to talk to you guys about the episode and everyone had made pictures of the proposal and quotes from it as their signatures and stuff, and you all were so happy.

And then I woke up and realized it was just a dream. Damn.

Nice dream! :)

Amy loves "Pride and Prejudice" so it might be a nice scenario for the proposal. Sheldon had read the book once, even in that time it was not for please Amy,lol!

Guys, there is a new snippet from Ep 8 where Sheldon says something like above to Amy:

"We'll lock that door, lower our pants a bit and make a baby!"

Amy's face is priceless!

Go to see it! :icon_cheesygrin:

Thanks for the tip!

OMG This episode is already killing me and I've barely seen a few snippets from the promos. JFC Sheldon! LOL

Yeah I just saw that, looks like it will be a very funny episode and interesting to see Sheldon acting so differently/OTT because of his sexual urges going through the roof right now. Sheldon goes way too far on a lot of things lol so him doing that now with the subject of sex will be interesting.

I must confess something about ep 8 that maybe I am in minority here. It has been very funny to know the spoilers and see the promos etc but I am a bit afraid of how everything of this seductive Sheldon migth work on screen when we see the complete episode . Okay we know Sheldon gets randy with science stuff/talk, we know that the proximity between Amy and him as they live together  and they get know each other better as they get more intimate is puting him on the edge of sexual tension but the making a baby porpose,  hum. Even for science motives, which Sheldon said when he met Amy that would make it, now it is different because he wants to do it like he says like mums and dads do.

Surely the whole thing may make sense, especially for Amy turned him down as it would be expexted for making a baby is not a reason for sudenly he wants to have coitus ,when he seemed okay with the coitus off the table for a while. After all they only had it once and they were handling with it at least confortably before they started to live together.

Maybe I am thinking too much and the whole thing might seem simpler and more logical on screen. Sorry the rambling about this :)

I wouldn't worry too much about it and you are the not the only one who has or has had some reservations.

You have to remember that the sneak peak trailer doesn't really portray much of the story at all it's just there to grab attention. I mean if I just saw that trailer and knew nothing about the episode then I would be going into this episode so apprehensive. I mean just look at Amy's reaction, there are shades of 'Love Spell Potential' there with Amy looking really uncomfortable and embarrassed in front of other people and her line of you are being ridiculous and then storming out of 4A. If you knew nothing about that episode you would be laughing your ass off at Sheldon's seduction attempts but then also you could be naturally a bit worried.

Luckily some kind and generous souls have provided us with some thoughts as they saw in person the episode and provided some fantastic detailed information from the taping. So we know a lot more about this episode than we would do but even then it can look a bit different on screen as they do tweak stuff and film multiple dialogue takes in particular.

The whole gist of this episode is simple really, Sheldon is struggling to cope with these increasing sexual urges and just goes so over the top like he does with pretty much anything he is not sure how to deal with or respond to. But then usually when he has his meltdown or reached the high point of ridiculousness he manages to process what exactly he is experiencing and tones it down. So I think it's fine for a week that he acts like this, let him get it out of his system and then I have no doubt a more measured approach going forward will happen when they do finally address their sex life.

I think overall this is just one of those episodes you have to fully watch maybe a couple of times, I am expecting some backlash towards it but the best thing to do is just go into it with an open mind.

But if anyone doesn't like a particular aspect of this episode then my advice would be don't suppress it (I know, easier said than done), we have a great community around here especially on the Shamy thread where we can discuss the episodes both positively and also some of the negatives if that's what you honestly feel and you will still get the support from your fellow Shamy's. Don't be afraid to post, be honest and you never know someone may change your mind with a quality post or argument, I know that from personal experience lol.

Thanks so much for your thoughts about my post,@jonny. It was really helpful :)

I will follow your advices. You all have been noticing that I love to share my thoughts about shamy and about the show, that I love to be playful about some things about them but sometimes I get a bit insecure about expressing my worries because I know sometimes my posts  are difficult to read for typos or grammar mistakes. I have only had english lessons in high school and english notions for techinical careers ( lab workers, engeneers , biologists when I was on University. Course movies and tv have helped me too but I have been checking a grammar book for make things  easier for you all here, who are so nice. That 's why I have never had any fear of be honest here. Well , I am always honest in my life, for better and for worse.

Back to topic, this episode might surely be one of the funiest of the season.About my fears, I will let you know what I think after it aired , as usual :)

Just wondering what did you all make of the line when Amy and Sheldon are talking about where they could live just before he starts to overthink it all and Amy says this:

'It's kind of exciting, we could do whatever we want'.

I think 4B is the place they are now going to stay in, in terms of the show dynamic it makes sense that Shamy especially Sheldon is around Lenny. But this line came after they were talking about perhaps moving into a new place entirely.

Just a throwaway line most likely? Or would Amy actually like a new house, a la Howardette? Do you think the show could pull off something like that if they chose to go in that direction? It certainly wouldn't happen in Season 10 if it was an actual possibility.

Amy hinted very strongly in the Tenure episode she wanted Sheldon to buy a house to raise a family in. Sheldon in 07x24 envisioned the idea although  it scared him at the time. I've always thought the show could do it, with Lenny by coincidence moving into one nearby. Wyatt said he wanted his grandchildren to grow up in a house without wheels.:)

Do colleges in US universities have houses in the grounds for some of the staff  ? Sheldon has  to teach in his post as Junior Professor.

The full gang could meet for meals etc in whosever house has the sofa with the spot.

The Caltech website says the university has 90 properties available for faculty, but it appears that these are primarily for New or Visiting Faculty.

I think when Amy says that they can do whatever they want, she isn't going to limit them to 314, 4A, or 4B.  So, I think we have to wait and see.  I would think a new house would be a wonderful wedding gift to each other.

Assuming they use the first half of S10 to prepare for the worst case scenario so that they can wrap up the show with a nice bow at the end of S10 if necessary this line and the whole musing of them moving away could be used as a setup for exactly that. Idk why but somehow I always felt the show should end with Lenny and/or Sheldon (well now Shamy) moving out of the building (and thus make a nice bookend to Penny moving in at the beginning of the show) - with the last gag being obviously as they leave the lobby for the last time handymen arrive to start repairing the elevator! lol

But since they didn't make a concrete plan in that scene the writers could use the vagueness to stall that particular idea for one or two more years should the show go to S11 or S12. Idk how likely they're willing to completely abandon the 4A/B sets in favour of what? A joined house for Lenny and Shamy? Hmm...

I think that they will keep S/A in 4B and L/P in 4A until the series finale.  The S/L/P interactions are core to the show.  If they move S/A away, they become too much like H/B/R characters who only interact with the others at work, the comic book store, group dinners etc.  I really think that they need to keep the "new neighbors are weird" dynamic .

I have predicted before that i can see a time jump at the very end of the series finale where we see them all gathered together with all of their "smart and beautiful" babies.

Yeah, exactly. Splitting up the characters even further won't do the show any good so they'd have to find a way to keep the PALS close together. The easiest way to do that is to keep them in 4A/B. Right now that "the new neighbours are weird" dynamic proved to be a breeze of fresh air so I'd be happy to see that explored for a while longer.

I think it's the correct outcome for the show as well, I just wonder with that line like with any piece of dialogue on the show if it's indicating something potentially further down the line or not. I believe it's just one of those throwaway ones, you have Sheldon sounding quite sensible Amy buying into some of the possibilities and saying ooh this could be exciting and then Sheldon starts to freak out a bit about smokers in the building, pets, mold etc.

I don't know how "true" in any way the rumors are about Kaley & Johnny not coming back (for whatever reasons) for more seasons but IF it is, has anyone thought of a possible spin off with Shamy?  That's what I thought of when I heard their pillow talk about where to live.

Yeah, as said further up it seems to be one of those lines that could indicate that the characters will move on from their current LAs at some point in the future - but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen any time soon. So right now Sheldon is freaking out about the possibilities. But if the writers want to they can easily have him come around to the idea of settling down with Amy in a house towards the end of the show.

Having seen many of those headlines I'm pretty sure those rumours are a whole lot of BS so I don't really think a Shamy spin off is in the works.

But I've seen other people muse about it so you're not alone with that idea.

I would watch the shit out of it, but I don't think it would happen. A show centered around them would be very different, perhaps still a sitcom but maybe something with a bit more drama? I dunno. I have no doubt as actors they could pull it off (they have amazing chemistry) but for this hypothetical show I would have to see what the premise would be behind it and who was involved.

More seasons with the current setup is definitely what I want to see, and hopefully everyone is on board. :)

If it came to a spin-off rather than more seasons I think Shamy would stand the best chance of succeeding. I can imagine any of them could do well given the right writers and a lot of support. Four pilot seasons running concurrently would bring in a few dollars I imagine. Shamy and Lenny in the US, Raj and whoever his wife is in Cambridge, and Howardette on a remote Scottish Island doing secret work for UK and US governments or the UN.

Of course we'd get crossovers with Skype etc.

What about a detective series ? Shamy solving crimes in offbeat ways using logic and scientific ideas when the police and forensic teams are baffled.

I really doubt we will see any spin offs.  They've all done really well, financially from TBBT and have spent their off time doing movies, voice work, producing, plays, etc.  Plus, they have to shake off the characters they have created in order to do more/other types of work.  Especially Jim, Sheldon is now iconic, but I think he has been making strides to do that in the off season projects he has been choosing.

I feel you. The way Amy acts in the promo just leaves me the impression that she's a bit upset. It's like something that's serious and precious to her gets turned into a joke... But luckily, usually the promo tells us nothing! For example, if we didn't read 1005 TR, we might have thought Shamy broke up from the tone of the promo.

I'm pretty sure 1008 will be HILARIOUS. I just hope it is also a build up for upcoming coitus 2.0, also coitus 2.0 can be as perfect as 1007.
