Seems reasonable. They mention more stuff they do off camera than anyone else: going to the zoo, learning to drive, going ice skating, watching French films, listening to music, deciding to play tricks on people, discussing papers, supermarket shopping, reviewing the relationship agreement and even the 'fight' Sheldon referred to ('Amy had a fight, I was perfectly reasonable' )  which led to the tiara purchase.

However, Amy mentioned signing a non-disclosure agreement 'before we slept together' as if it had only happened once. She didn't put it in any context such as 'the first time', or 'on my birthday' or even 'every time'. The use of the past-historic tense makes me think. I wonder why the writers slipped that line in ?

We don't see Amy horny and complaining much any more though. She's given up suggesting they live together - that we've heard anyway  - and her hair is getting curlier.  I think he probably  went round to her place after the Skype conversation on his new computer, for instance, and they surely shared a room at the Big Bear cabin.  Their off-camera life is quite a varied one, which suggests they do sleep together when it suits them.

Hi, I may be late to the party but here are my predictions.....

Question 1 - During Season 10 do you think Shamy will have sex again? OMG YES!  Sooo much comedy and sweet shamy moments potential here, the writers would have to be crazy to squander it! IMO

Question 2 - Do you think Shamy will get engaged during Season 10? NO....lol see question 3 answer.

Question 3- Do you think Shamy will get married during Season 10? YES!.....lol......I am going to go out on a dreamer's limb and say they skip an engagement and go straight to getting married!  No sense dragging things out once they make up there minds.

Question 4 - Do you think Shamy will live together in some arrangement during Season 10? Yes....maybe trial runs, maybe many sleepovers....lots of possibilities.....who knows, maybe Amy's lease coming up will play a role in helping change the living arrangements?....but with these two i have learned to expect the unexpected.

Please send a PM, with the subject "Shamy10".  I need the season and episode number, and your top ten moments, in order, with your top moment at number one.  Yes, you can chose a moment where there is only one of them (Sheldon Chopping Leonard's neck for example) and you can choose multiple moments from an episode (Them talking before and after coitus are different moments, for example.) 

Currently, it's interesting how it is turning out.   I have eight votes, and there are six different top moments and seven different second place moments.  For Lenny, I also have eight, but there are seven different top moments, and only four second place moments.   The top three moments, in both camps, have seven votes.

I don't know how intentional that was but my personal take on it was that they wanted to connect 9x11 and 9x20 in some way by establishing that both events are something exclusive and private between just the two of them.

The last thing I remember Molaro saying about this was that Sheldon was still sticking to their birthday agreement but that was months ago by now so who knows what their current position on the matter is. If they're still working with that premise though the big upside I can see about that is that they might want to do a variation of the "Sheldon fails to stick to his plan" type of episode that most of us wanted anyway after 9x11. There's so much comedic potential in that!

I'm already disappointed because of that pathetic unbelievably stupid ass joke.  A lot of fans find Opening night perfect but I don't because of that one very tainted line.  I already know it's possible but theres still too many clues that can make them believably go either way.

Last week on the comic-con panel they said they'd been saving that line for years. They'd intended to use it for some annual event but hadn't decided it would be on Amy's birthday until this season. That meant to me that the line wasn't all that significant, just something to get a laugh out of one of those odd things Sheldon says.

Exactly.  I think it's going to end up being a throw away line that was pointless.  I didn't think it was funny and frankly it didn't make any sense in this instance. 

When Sheldon "likes" something, he tends to go overboard with it.  But with this, even though he likes it, even likes it more than he thought he would, he's going to do it only once a year?  How stupid!!

Yeah, that one line isn't my favourite joke either and I'm a bit annoyed that Molaro likes it so much. Jeez. But it isn't ruining anything for me either. However I do think it would be a lot funnier in hindsight when they'd have a "Sheldon fails to stick to his plan" scenario. There's nothing funny about making that once a year agreement and sticking to it without even the slighted struggle.

Yep, they refrained from a lot of obvious jokes with the gang which makes me wonder how much the gang know or don't know about Shamy's sex life or lack thereof. I mean, it could be that after years and years of ridicule the writers are just done with these kinds of jokes because they're not that funny to them anymore or whatever. But for better or for worse they could be an indicator about what happens or doesn't happen off screen so the absence feels weirdly suspicious.

Then again, maybe we're just over thinking this. lol

I didn't take the line that seriously, I just saw it as an easy gag to remind the audience this is still Sheldon Cooper and he comes out with stuff like this. Of course if it turns out that Amy's birthday is the only time they have sex then I will be disappointed as I don't think their relationship longer term will take that.

Going off on a slightly related tangent looking at their life as if it was real, they both mentioned having children and more than one so if they do indeed want to kids some day it's going to have to happen more than one day a year.

Now If I was a writer I would in keeping with character growth and evolution turn the whole sex thing from a big event thing to a normal couple activity. It would show more growth in the characters and also provide some interesting storylines.

Picture something like this (and I have suggested something similar like this before) they have a scene with Lenny around their much criticized kitchen island making breakfast and Amy walks into the kitchen area wearing one of her nighties (remember she has more than one night bag stashed in the apartment lol) or one of Sheldon's t-shirts. Cue some funny dialogue and looks between Lenny and Amy, Amy has a bite to eat and then goes to the bathroom and meets Sheldon on the way to the kitchen area they have a brief kiss (or some awkwardly clearly in love moment like a smile) and Sheldon goes into the Kitchen. Cue more funny dialogue and looks, Leonard does his famous "You dog!" line and then Sheldon says something like "Kolinahr is just too hard, what has that vixen done to me".

My answers - I know I'm a bit late ! 

1- Yes, I think they'll have sex again,  and hope it's down to Sheldon not wanting to wait - or that we find out they've been at it all along , thinking it's their secret , but the gangs onto them !

2 - Engagement season 10. Yes !! , I've said this before , I think it's been so long since we first saw the ring and it'll be soon ( hopefully ) - I need closure , I'm a bit like Sheldon that way lol !

3 - No, unless it's the last season.

4 - Maybe , but I defiantly think they will have sleepovers, does that count ? I don't think they'll move in fully unless it's the last season !

me too and I think it has been only at Amy's for the sake of privacy. It would be funny if Amy tries to get fresh with him in 4A and he points out that those kinds of amorous activities are to be done in the privacy of 314 only but Amy points out that they would be completely alone since Lenny are out of town. Sheldon sees her logic and grabs her hand leading her to his bedroom.     ( yeah yeah yeah... a girl can dream, can't she??? )

It doesn't have to be a throaway line. Depending on where they decide to go with this plot, it could:

a) be easily twisted by the writers so that it was Sheldon being too literal (it wouldn't be the first time).

b  ) be used as the beginning of a plot about how Sheldon changes his mind about the "next birthday" part because he can't wait until then (which should have happened 3-4 eps after 9.11 and will be hard to pull off now since they will have to answer questions like "Why now, after almost a year?"***).

c) mean that yes, Sheldon intends for them to have sex once a year, to which Amy heartily agreed anyway ("Works for me!") so that will be the end of that. Of course, that would open up a whole other can of worms and would make all the previous years' developments (and to a certain point teasing of the fans) pointless.

Amy: I do know what that’s like. I really do.

 

This line kind of makes me think that they have done it again.  Because the time they had sex was somewhat planned and not a spontaneous thing.

This is exactly why I don't think they can stick to their "once a year" joke.  And seriously?  Amy would continue to be okay with that?  I'd call BS on that.  No woman would agree to that for the entire year.

This is just one of the many things that tell me they've been doing it since Opening Night because that was NOT a "spontaneous thing."  Hell, they both knew it was going to happen before Sheldon even got there!  AND at some point between them kissing on the couch and Sheldon sitting on Amy's bed looking around, they had to STOP and write up a NDA and sign it.  That's NOT spontaneous!!
