Ship Zone [Spoilers] Shamy: Season 10

I have always been a little annoyed at all the times that Sheldon has accused Amy of being the difficult one while not being even a bit aware that he is challenging, especially when talking to MeMaw.  His smile when Amy says she made him a "functional boyfriend" made me so happy.  They're so cute.

Just watched the episode! Loved it 'cos it was really funny and cute and I'm still after all these years digging the Shamy. I'm actually watching season 4 rn and it's so fun to compare that to the new episodes.

A few stray observations though:

1. The pen drop move was HILARIOUS. Oh Shelly.

2. Penny's such a shipper. I love her. Those rose pedals were really taking though. 

3. That voice! Kind of creeped me out, LOL. In a good way though.

4. I'd loooove to read a fanfic about the events that followed that night after the whole sexy dancing.

5. Sheldon wants to be a fun dad.. Awww, they're so married. I know lots of you wouldn't care for a Shamy baby, but it melts my heart just thinking about it and now, after seeing Sheldon soooo excited I know it's in my Top 10 of Shamy dreams. 

6. Deer musk? 

7. I loved their usage of "we" "us" "our". Whenever Sheldon was talking about the cells, he never said it was better than the others because of him. I think that's so much growth on his part. I loved it.

I reeaally liked this episode. It was fun and I felt like Sheldon was still Sheldon, which I guess is always the objective, good or bad. So many cool moments to add to my Shamy log though.

Thank you for such a detailed and lengthy post.   I keep thinking just how functional of a boyfriend Amy has made Sheldon.  He expresses his feelings, apologizes, makes out, allows Amy to touch him, touches her, compromises, has urges, etc.   He has really surpassed all my expectations.

I never thought for one second that Sheldon went into the cohabitation experiment to experiment.  He took living with Amy extremely seriously, and look what it has done to him.  It just makes his using Amy's passion for science to keep going after their first night so much more significant.  As Sheldon said, he knew they would have problems, but they needed the time to work through them.  Thank goodness for his persistence.  No wonder he was so concerned Amy was hiding something.  Perhaps he thought for a moment he had failed her.  Hence his relief when Penny revealed Amy lied because she loves him and wants to be with him.

I feel that if Amy had gone back to her apartment, she wouldn't have remained there long before Sheldon realized his life is not complete without her and went after her.

To your point that Sheldon doesn't feel smothered anymore by having Amy around all the time, I couldn't agree more. In fact, they aren't even at Lenny's sharing a meal with the rest of the group but hosting their own guest, Bernadette.

I had to do a double-take that Howard was sitting in Sheldon's spot.

Sheldon's progression just feels so natural and to hear Amy declare her love for him after she had so many reservations and knowing he is being ridiculous right now just set my heart aflutter.

I want more....

Okay, just watched it a second time...so...

Sheldon and Amy in her lab.  He is so drawn to her mind.  It's so blatant in this episode.  

His glance and then smile at her when Amy says she turned him into a functioning boyfriend...he is so proud of that Amy is acknowledging how far he has come in the relationship.

Typical over the top Sheldon..but is all so telling.  They are still in 4B, he (cluelessy) wants to move forward.  I think Amy wants Sheldon want to want HER, not simply because she is a baby making machine.

What a weird, odd, lovely episode...lets redo 4B and move them forward in their relationship.  They are adorable.

The functional boyfriend line really struck me, especially when i remember what Penny said to him in the Season 9 opener about Amy thinking he was a bad boyfriend hence the break up.

I think he is doing a pretty good job now wouldn't you say? In terms of boyfriend material he has come along leaps and bounds.

They are both so happy and so in love right now.

What I noticed in Sheldon and Amy's apartment in the brain bowl episode

Penny's fridge pictures are gone. Weird to see no pictures on the fridge...Hoping to see some Shamy ones soon.

Sheldon moved his white board across the hall in to new place.

and finally Kunal left a troll on the bookshelf in Amy's and Sheldon's house. I guess a little fun aimed at his new movie with Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.

Slowly but surely becoming the Shamy home.

What an utterly enjoyable episode! Laughed my socks off at Sheldon's antics and Amy's reactions. The way she just ran away after the pencil dropping was hilarious too. And GOOD LORD the flamenco. You sure have some great self control, Amy!

I agree with what most of you all have said here. Sheldon is just confusing his physical desires with the desire to procreate. He just needs to think it through. I am sure he himself will prefer marriage before a baby. 

Having said that, a Shamy wedding and then a baby are the greatest of my fangirl dreams! Just imagine Sheldon trying to cater to a demanding, pregnant Amy. It will be hilarious and super cute! Please, writers, PUHLEEZzz.

Yes, I know what you mean. I can understand of course that it is frustrating when the characters you care about don't have much screen time. We experienced this with Amy for quite some time. Apparently the writers really want to move Shamy to the next level as fast as possible. We don't know if there will be a next season. 

And we still have so many things to explore. So much is still in the dark as far as Amy's family is concerned. Plus of course proposal and wedding. And as far as intimacy is concerned us Shamys are still hilariously happy with little things like a hug or a good night kiss. This little peck on the lips was only the eleventh on-screen Shamy kiss. All in all we saw them kiss in only 8 episodes. So small wonder that this ship is bursting with excitement at every little display of affection these two show.

Honestly: I understand (at least to some degree) the frustration of the Lennys - but I cannot help (and I don't want to!) being deliriously happy with the Shamy development!

I have just seen next episode preview and looking at Bert size, one of tr came to my mind. Sheldon did karate to him as he did once to Leonard when he went to a wedding  with Amy. The difference was that Bert is a huge rock  himself, lol! I feel Sheldon, my hand hurts as I try to imagine that scene! 

Thank goodness that  Amy will look after  her Sheldon

Btw, I really liked in last episode that Amy had never said Sheldon and her just had once coitus when she refused his seducing attempts. We know they havent had it again so far but it was really more natural in their dialogues, I mean, they are more intimate now and seducing is something they would do to each other. It only just need to be for the right reasons. Good move, writers

We haven't been shown whether the discussion about putting coitus 'on the table' when they were more settled ever took place. Either way, it looks as though Sheldon isn't scared of it any more.

When they have got a bigger place and they do have little Rajeshes, I can imagine when they get up in the night Amy'll be measuring their brains and Sheldon will be observing and measuring the contents of every nappy.

Unfortunately this seducing has been very onesided. First it was Amy who tried to seduce Sheldon who was totally oblivious and now it is Sheldon who tries to seduce Amy, but fails as well, because she doesn't want to do it for the purpose of procreation. I hope we get to see them flirting, sending clear signs of sexual willingness that might be only obvious for them, while other people look at them bewildered. 

I hope that the karate chop will not only be mentioned by Sheldon but actually be shown on screen. I already see how Sheldon getting on his toes trying to chop Bert or trying to do the Vulcan grip, while Bert doesn't even notice that Sheldon is there and continues his work. Or Sheldon could jump on Bert's back, one arm wrapped around his neck while he tries to chop Bert with the other hand. And after three hours of trying, Bert turns his head to Sheldon and either says "Oh Sheldon, I haven't noticed that you are there. What are you doing on my back anyway?" or he grabs behind him and pats Sheldon on the shoulder and consoles him "It's ok you tried your best!" or he tries to shoo Sheldon away saying " That's a tenacious fly!  " I could continue the whole day. 

Anyway, Sheldon shouldn't aggravate Bert too much, it's a dangerous thing to do that. It's like fighting with a grizzly Bear. I'm sure once Bert is angry he is a like a human steam roller.

The dropping the rock thing does anyone think this might in a small way go back to what Penny said to him about letting things go? imagine his worries are a pen and then drop to let his anger go but instead this time he tries it with a real life object such as a rock lol?

LOL I can totally see him saying something like "I just wanted to let it go!" between sobs. Though He did say that he wanted to let go anger and dropped a rock on his foot. So he tried Penny's advice but the purpose failed terribly. Poor Shelly! Next time try to drop something lighter, like a feather or a pen.

It was kind of inevitable Geology and Sheldon's view of it was always to come up again and with Bert making more appearances it was a good way to address that. I am so glad the writers resisted the urge to bring up stuff like that at the brunch episode and instead save it for this one.

The whole Sheldon gets jealous, acts of a bit of an ass then comes around has been done before but not with Bert. I could see Bert actually being a good friend to Shamy if the writers allow it.

And maybe the major plus point from this episode really is that Sheldon should not be jealous anymore. Bert seems to make it clear that he has moved on from fancying Amy, a background vibe that could have impacted on any future friendship.

Agree. I believe after last episode we might see more seducing hints from both before the c day again. I trust writers would do that perfectly as everything they have done for shamy so far this season

I agree Jonny, Bert could indeed help Sheldon to pass his jealousy and to help him accept that it is not a sign of weakness or failure that there are others who are more sucessful and that it is an important maturing process to accept that there are indeed people who are as intelligent as him or as sucessful in their job as him. I hope that he accepts this fact and enjoys the joys of life with Amy and is happy for the things he achieved without lamenting for the things he couldn't achieve and envy these people who did. Nevertheless it would be good if he was sucessful in String Theory, because he has been working most of his life on that field, finding answers. Maybe he could ask Amy for help. 

Do you guys think that watching the Ellen DeGeneres show together is the beginning of a new friendship between Sheldon and Bert? It kind of feels like to me.

When I first read the TR for 10.9, my first thought was that, after an episode where Sheldon could have been perceived OOC  because he was going really out of his way to seduce Amy, the writers chickened out a bit and hit us with a "Sheldon is still Sheldon"-kind of episode. So they went with some classics from Sheldon's repertoire, like his hatred for geology, his idea that he is the only one really worth of achievements because "his brain is better than anybody's" and the fact he is not that good in letting things go (so Penny's visualizations about  pens or, in his case, to let a real rock go might have been useful on that regard). The writers tempered this "old-style" episode with Sheldon learning (hopefully) his lesson about professional jealousy, which to me doesn't sound that fresh and new like the previous episode was, TBH. 

The good news, for me, it's that 10.8 is receiving awesome comments among fans, the TBBT Official FB page is full of people saying the episode was very funny and Sheldon in particular was very funny. I've checked and only very few people made comments about how OOC all of that was. I'm very happy and relieved about that, and I hope the writers can continue to show us Shamy progressing in the bold way they have done this season.
