Yes I have become a Bert and Amy shipper. LOL. I just found it funny that at the party he kicked both girls out because he was in love with them both but when Sheldon brags about having her, knowing he liked her, he was like I can do better. He probably can no doubt but we love Amy and no one can do better than her. But Sheldon has her so there.....Bert.

I agree with you....I hope he finds someone just for him. I like Bert's character the way they are writing him so he deserves someone nice.

I think it's primarily there to 1) have a trigger for Sheldon punching him and 2) show that all that fame did get to his head after all.

But like @Jonny said, at least he's not pining after Amy anymore. LOL

Actually, no one got to Sheldon. Leonard tried first, then Amy, then Penny...but at the end he said something insulting about Bert again. The next day he apparently has changed his mind which prompts Leonard to say that he did it on his own. Then Bert mentioned Howard, who started it all all over again. Then ultimately it was Stephen Hawking who got to him.

Just wanted to drop in to say that I quite liked last episode. I laughed quite a bit at Sheldon's antics because I always love when they give him the chance to go over the top and exaggerate a situation, and seeing everyone's reactions to him are great. This has been a staple of the show since the beginning - Sheldon is over the top and dramatic and everyone reacts - and I think it will continue to be.

I think sometimes you just have to view an episode not as a shipper and not as someone looking for a lot of character or plot development, and just view it as a funny episode. The writers love to sprinkle these little one-and-done funny episodes amidst big arcing plots, and I don't think they really intend for the audience to get their giant magnifying glasses out to analyze these little throw away lines. But as hardcore shippers, we can't exactly help that, can we. :D

That being said, I do think there was a bit of character development for both Sheldon and Amy here. Most has been already covered, but they did show growth in Sheldon trying to move past his jealousy. And, like others have mentioned, Amy has really come into her own as well. I love that we saw her being so caring towards Sheldon, nursing his wounds, but she doesn't tolerate his nonsense so much anymore.

I did not like the group making fun of Penny's short hair at all, however. I think it's because I too cut my hair super short, and I also got a lot of flak for it, and when it's coming from your friends it really hurts. And I'm such a huge proponent of not criticizing people for how they look, dress, or how they wear their hair or makeup. But I know that's just a personal thing.

I also did not like Raj's comment, either. I'm already not liking his character much at all anymore, because I think he's a misogynist, shallow, douche basically. Haha. But I just thought what he said was rude as hell and has 100% to do with the fact that he doesn't view Amy as "hot" like he does Penny and Bernadette. And I think he considers any relationship that Sheldon is in not a "real" one for whatever reason. But Raj can't keep a girl, so what does he know, lol. However, like Kerry mentioned, I do like that we got to see Sheldon give him a hard glare after he said that. He truly is protective as hell over his relationship with Amy, and if I can choose my favorite takeaway from this episode, it's probably that.

Spidergirl, as soon as the episode is available at CBS, gifs or gifsets are allowed.  The reason we don't allow gifs before that is simply it's not officially available. Any gif would have had to come from either an illegal streaming site or illegally copied off of the broadcast.

Overall not my favourite episode this season - after the brilliance of the last couple of episodes going all out with the cohabitation experiment and everything this retreat to "Sheldon is still Sheldon" felt like a let down. But it's not the worst serving either and I found enough stuff to like about it.

- First I should probably preface this by saying that I'm not one of those people who are mad when a show is revisiting certain themes. Sheldon having issues with his jealousy is part of his character and having this trait resurface every now and then is just character continuity. It's a bit absurd to me to expect the writers to never use that again after having done it in an episode in the past. It's a long running show and coming back to certain themes is only natural.

- So with that in mind I like that the writers put a new spin on it and instead of simply have Sheldon be jealous the story is about Sheldon dealing with his jealousy and trying to overcome it which I don't think they have done before. It also fits rather nicely with the post-breakup theme of Sheldon being more self aware and trying to deal with his emotions better and become a better person. Only time will tell whether or not this lesson will stick. But for his health's sake I hope it does. Poor Shelly hobbling through the episode like a wounded bunny had me going back and forth between "Aww poor thing!" and LMAO (Excellent work here by Jim as per usual!)

- This was very light on Shamy as expected. Loved the little titbit from their night in 9x11 (communication in bed is important! lol). Loved Amy being so caring about her poor injured cuddles. Loved the little hand holding. Loved that their relationship is basically heralded as the best thing that's happened to Sheldon. Loved that he's willing to fight anyone over this (not endorsing violence but the sentiment, just to be clear).

- It's a bit annoying that that one scene really played out as Penny only being able to get him out of his funk (the TR kinda felt a bit different, but that's always the danger) but it felt very mothering him (like when Mary is fed up with Sheldon) and I liked that Amy isn't swallowing her annoyance, if nothing else because it tells me the show very aware of what it's doing here.

- In general like @mirs1 said in the other thread a lot of the jokes felt very "meta" and I liked that.

- Loved Amy's sassy remarks sprinkled through all of this. Mayim's delivery was spot on! And we even got a cameo of Science Amy! <3

- Last but not least, I've been talking about it since we knew Bert would show up at the brunch and I didn't get it then but now finally I got my wish of having a "Sheldon stares angry at the friendly giant" scene. YAY! I'm so so sorry, I guess I have such a stupid sense of humour but seeing Sheldon who looks like this huge built guy next to the rest of the usual cast hobble up to Bert who is so much bigger and trying to assert his superiority thanks to having Amy by having to stare up to him made me laugh so much. Idk why I find this so funny but I'm happy that I got it. LOL

So yeah, I felt well entertained overall!

Agree with this. When in time to come we look back at all the seasons, I bet this episode will be seen as a milestone rather than a filler or time-waster. I think it shop-windowed well how far Sheldon's personality has matured beyond his relationship with Amy. He's not just a better boyfriend, but a better understander of himself and how far his attitude and behaviour affects others in general. He now accepts that his jealousy is not a positive thing. We're shown he no longer believes it's wrong for other people to have something he hasn't got, even when it feels like it . He sees there's no point to being a dog in a manger : the penny drops. Bert is not a rival. He's not blocking Sheldon in any way. He's not taken anything from him. Sheldon realises his feelings make no sense and he's open about them and wants to get them under his control. His injury came from wanting to let his feelings go. Earlier Sheldon would have embraced those feelings because he'd have believed it was right and proper to have them. This Sheldon is the same man at first but then we see how his whole attitude  has turned turtle. He treats Bert as a person worth talking to, not an unnecessary being to be looked down on and he's got another friend as a result. Bert reminded Sheldon he was top of his own field and had much to be grateful for. He was as helpful as Penny in his own way.

Just watched again, my random thoughts....

For a season that seems to be constantly moving things forward, this felt very "disconnected". I didn't notice any changes to 4A, we didn't see 4B, there was no indicators of where we are in BBT time.   It's like they just dropped this episode into the middle of the storytelling.  I didn't think it was bad, it just felt "odd".

Expanding on my first comment, I got a real Professor Proton "appreciate them" vibe from this.  

I loved that every time Sheldon injured himself, it was Amy that took care of him.  Awwww to the casual hand holding.

I laughed hard at Sheldon reading Bert's paper and Amy's comment about coitus.  Johnny's reaction as Leonard was priceless.

Glad to see Kripke back, of course it took his sicko reaction to the Hawking toy to wake Howard up.

And the Hawking appearance, leave it to Leonard to come up with the idea to the have him advise Sheldon....buddies no mater what.

Lacking spoilers is tough..I just not used to it.  Can't wait to see what happens next.

The photos were already there in 10x08.

Judging by the title I guess the real big changes will come with 10x10. 10x09 appears to be a bit of a breather episode with regards to all those changes in LAs going on.

Agree. After watching 10.09 more carefully for details that I missed for the first view, I ' ve noticed   among other  details  , the photos you  were talking about.

Although the episode have not mentions about most recent changes about la and shamy relationship after that  epic seducing  Amy episode , the viewer can sense big changes were ahead and more is coming indeed.

Like  Sheldon was on his spot but he doesnt care anymore  if Amy is sit on his "shadow". She was really very close to his space on that couch and that hand-holding so casual and warm mean indeed those two are ready for sharing everything in their lives, I mean, that sense of "my home is where you are" and "My body is mine and yours too", you know what I mean?

The other detail that imo shows that next episodes might  be really huge about Shamy was how Sheldon went by himself about his jealous for Bert sucess. Sheldon fixed the issue by himself without his friends or girlfriend tried to fix his mess, even this time he listened to them , especially Leonard  and Sheldon injured more himself than he did damages to someone else.

I really loved Amy 's behavior  for all Sheldon jealousy  issue. She showed he was overeating, she adviced him to get his own opinion about Bert's paper and she was there for him , as he needed help  with his injuries. Otherwise, Sheldon knew he would fix it by himself  as those feelings  would not make sense and he reallly did not try that someone  took charge of the situation for him, as he did many times at past.

I believe this subtles changes of behavior  might be related with the decision  of propose Amy soon. Sheldon  shows signs that his mind is able to rationalize now not only about his work but also about things feelings  related and he has been realising that  Amy is really with him whatever happens or wherever they  are. The ghost of breaking up is really dead by now and those two might change their bedtime dynamic  as soon as they  have their belogings in  4B and Sheldon and Lenny take care of the division of comum belogings.

Can't wait for next weeks. I just only hope that by the time of show hiatus  we would not be living a huge cliffhanger about shamy storyline. My heart would not take that well, lol!

I don't think they will have a proposal until Shamy has had coitus again. I just think that's something important that they have to revisit before they can make that kind of commitment. 

There's gonna be some kind of flag convention, right? I would place my bets on a proposal occurring in that episode. 

I really hope coitus 2.0 doesn't happen alongside the birth of Howardette's baby but it's looking like that may happen. Who knows? 

I'm just glad they are gonna be finalizing Shamy's move to 4B and that Bernadette is finally going into labor. I wonder how often we will actually see this child.

So grateful for the spoilers , I'm really no good at being spoiler free !!! I'm liking the sound of this next ep, not much actual Shamy by the sounds of things but I love the fact we're now making progress with sorting everything into the two apartments and Shamy will finally have their wee love nest with all their things awwwww !!!!

Onto my next question - do we know a broadcast schedule for December ? I think I'm right that next ep is 1st Dec, and that's 10.10, do you think we might get 10.11 & 10.12 before the break for holidays ?? My thinking being if 10.10&10.11 deal with the birth and are late Oct , will we get a December ep before holidays ???? ( you know I'm wondering for Shamy sexy time reasons !!!! btw I do wonder if the writers will tie in Seduction Sheldon wanting a baby ep with him then seeing howardette's baby and then have him realise that he just wants to make love to Amy not make babies with Amy ?!! could be funny ?!!)  or will 10.12 be January therefore a pos New Years ep ??

kbp - in answer to your question - I was thinking coitus Mark 2 & engagement would come together ?!!!! But I also liked the flag convention idea so know idk lol - I'm just enjoying the ride - loving season 10 so much so far eeeeeekkkkk !!!

I was also impressed by the fact that, to take his fight with Leonard to the next level, he just rented his old room to somebody else, he didn't even think to, I don't know, sleep there from time to time or using it as a office for himself. The new LA are permanent and there's no coming back, I'm sure the next time we see 4B there will be some subtle changes in it. It will be a fun game to spot Sheldon's and Amy's things in it.

I think it's more likely that 10.11 airs on December 15th.  10.12 will be filmed on December 6 th, so they should have less than 10 days for the editing, the promo, and everything. Still possible, but it could be a very short call.

TBBT have never aired three episodes in December.  Not counting season 1 (due to the writers strike when there were no episodes aired), out of the remaining eight seasons, there have been six seasons that have two episodes in December, and two seasons where there was only one episode.    Season two (2008), is exactly like 2016, date wise.    That year, new episodes were skipped on Thanksgiving (Nov 24) and the next Thursday (Dec 1)  There were shows on December 8 and December 15.  

To me, that would mean 10.10 and 10.11 will more than likely air on the 8th and 15th.  It's late and I'll go ahead and put the air dates for December, for each season in the ratings thread tomorrow.  So if anyone want to look, it should be up sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. 

As mirs mentioned, while they could get 10.12 on the air, and they have done it before, they generally don't like to do that, in case there is a problem somewhere.  Nine days, from the end of the taping,  are needed to get the post-production finished and the completed episode sent to the network for broadcast.

Tensor, I think in the articles announcing  Christopher Lloyd's presence in the show, it was written he will appear in the episode airing on December 1st. It's not an official statement from CBS, I guess, but probably that's the airing date the journalists were told.

Depends on how they write the labour - it can take pretty long for a first timer like Bernie to deliver the baby. Sometimes the water breaks a day or so before contractions begin so there could be a situation where "Team Baby" is sent home again waiting for contractions to start which could be funny. Labour itself can last something between 10 and 20 hours for first time moms. So they could easily have the PALS do something else while Howard takes care of Bernie and Raj/Stuart take care of Howard and keep the rest of the gang up to date. There's really no use having everyone hang out at the hospital all day.

So far for the PALS everything seems to develop towards some sort of end point for the change of the LAs. I don't know if we'll already be seeing big changes in the sets but there could be some more progress regardless. Maybe after Leonard defiled the old 4A flag Shamy go shopping for a new flag to finally declare 4B their own by marking their territory. One small step for a couple, a huge leap for Shamykind! And then they mark their territory in other ways...

Anyway... yeah, the thing is if Coitus 2.0 doesn't happen then Molaro will have to face an outrage. People have been patiently waiting for a year so there are expectations. The only way out of this is if this episode has something equally satisfying for the audience. I don't know if the LA transition coming to an end would be it cause we've been dealing with that for a few episodes now. Proposal? Eh, I don't really care about that right now but that might just be me. I wouldn't hate it but I'm not exactly rooting for it to happen right now either.
