I know I haven't posted here in a while but hi again! Almost that time again for a new season!!!! Can't wait! Does anybody know when the first taping of Season 10 is? Someone mentioned the table read is next week... Does this mean we will get Bill Prady's usual teaser pic of the script cover?

First taping is Aug 16th! :D

cause Amy's face looks like she's wondering for a second if that isn't too soon cause whatever they did will hold her for long while.

If you recall, just shaking hands with Zack held her for a while, so a few hours of lovemaking should hold her for quite some time. :icon_biggrin:

I was referring to Leonard's nightmare Serena.

I don't think it was all that bad.

It certainly wasn't as bad, as the last scene of 8.24

That was just the most heartbreaking scene I've ever seen in a Sitcom.

I thought 9.07, his seeing Amy get kissed, was pretty rough.  Mom had a devastating scene where Anna Faris' character finds out one of the addicts she was mentoring killed herself, after Faris's character blew off a phone call the addict had made.  They have been several others in Mom.  MASH has had several, the most memorable for me was when they killed off Henry Blake.

Far sadder was when Niles found out Daphne was falling for Donny, the divorce lawyer who was about to set Niles free to court her.

In that Skyping Amy did after all remind Sheldon she loved him. She was clearly unhappy but there was hope for us that she could come to the conclusion Sheldon was what she wanted. We didn't know Sheldon had got it all round his neck until the next season.

That kiss was nothing, silly Sheldon. It was such a little peck it could have been her cousin or a friend from work. He just assumed it was a date based on nothing. Faint heart never won fair lady. Sheldon should have followed Amy in and got down on one knee if he was really committed. He'd seen enough movies to know by such a non-kiss she wasn't in a serious relationship yet.

RIP Henry Blake. Loved Colonel Sherman Potter who was a better commander, but Henry...well, he was really special...

Oh, I don't blame you ! That one is awful. I fast-forward over that too.

You fast forward the nightmare kiss scene (which wasn't even real) but you don't mind watching Amy kissing Dave ? ..Although to be fair, I didn't get the point of the makeout in 9.2 either  lol.

Amy said herself the most Dave had given her was a little peck on the lips, which we didn't even see. I didn't mind the attempts on her couch because I knew the Coopervalry was on its way.

@April - wow just wow !!! Amazing analysis , I love your take on all of this it makes so much sense .

i love how you always see reason and are so enthusiastic - can't wait for season 10. I agree this cute couple are in a wonderful place and we have lots to look forward too with them :)

Thank you for taking the time to watch & review for us - season 10 I'm ready !!!!!!

Happy to hear you enjoyed my posts!!! I'm cracking up at how huge they got over time but looking at the big picture it's a sign of how wonderful the character development for Sheldon and Amy just kept building and building. It was great to re-watch the show with that focus - especially in preparation for S10. <3

Thank you @April for the review, I'm shamefully behind with my re-watch, LOL!! I like the fact that, as you said, watching the episodes back to back gives more sense to everything.  From your review it looks like in S. 9 what makes Shamy unique sparked so bright. After the very dark first half of the season, we got a lot of goofy Skype-calls, FwF, the tag in the Cabin episode, all the things that made me fell in love with my ship. Anyway, the first half of the season gave also the possibility to the two characters and to the couple to grow, they are not perfect, of course, and sometimes both of them return to the old patterns, but they are in a very good place right now. I also like that this season IMO we got the deepest insight in Sheldon's mind ever, sometimes I think this season was kind of a psychotherapy for him; he realized some of his coping mechanisms weren't as successful has he thought and tried to change them, he spoke about his childhood traumas with birthdays,  he admitted his hoarding issues, we knew about his synesthesia, and of course he decided by his own, with no pressure whatsoever, he was ready for sex. Funnily enough, Amy is involved in a way or the other in almost all those epiphanies. I'm so ready for S. 10!

LOL when I started out with my rewatch you were like 3 seasons ahead of me!

1st bold: Yeah, absolutely! I mean on this forum we're often complaining about the things the writers didn't do after 9x11 and I'm as frustrated as the next Shamy fan that they're still so coy about the physical side of their relationship. But what they did do instead was wonderful! The post 9x11 Shamy stories we got were busy showing this new chapter in their quirky romance.

2nd bold: OMG YES! I love it when the show does that. We've known for a long time that Sheldon's brain is processing information and emotions very differently and episodes like Spock or Sales Call or Solder gave us more insights about the why and how.

Yes, what they did on that respect was wonderful, but sometimes I think it was made out of "fear". Molaro himself said he was pretty nervous about 9.11, so IMO the writers in the second half of the season decided to focus on the fact that "Sheldon is still Sheldon" and "Shamy are still Shamy", so that they deepened their emotional bond and gave us some  quite Shamy-esque episodes. That was amazing, I enjoyed the second half of the season (up to 9.20, after that there were some pretty awkward moments); but, since I'm a  needy baby, greedy baby,  now it's time to focus also on real developments for the couple (bring the ring back, writers!!!) and on addressing the physical part of the relationship.

Oh yeah, absolutely. But at the same time I do think this was an immensely important step for them to restore their emotional bond which definitely keeps my disappointment during the second half of the season over the ring or the physical intimacy down. The breakup was hard on both of them and some things even turned quite ugly so I'm very happy that the writers took the time and addressed a lot of issues.

Like, take them doing FwF on Valentine's day as an example. On one hand it was important to have them do another episode together after Sheldon used it as a tool for revenge earlier in the season. Now it's their baby again - even emphasised with the new title. lol Likewise, while Sheldon was angrily ranting about the separation in the earlier episode he's now talking about how the breakup was for the better. On the other hand I think having this take place on Valentine's day shows Amy's growth as well since she isn't insisting on anything typically romantic like she would have in past years. I mean, it probably still was Sheldon's idea but overall she seems to be rather excited about doing this with him.

And I think a lot of the post-9x11 stories work like that with them mending past wounds and restoring/improving their bond. I don't think one or two episodes alone would have done the trick so I'm more than okay with that being the general theme for them in the second half of the season.

Meanwhile I also managed to put together my top 10 for Tensor's best of Shamy poll:

1. 9x11: Scene in Amy's bedroom "We can find out together"
2. 9x10: Reunion at Amy's door "Kiss her, you brilliant fool!"
3. 8x20: Date night fun in Fort Cozy McBlanket "You got yourself a sleepover!"
4. 6x23: Talk & DnD in Sheldon's room "What we have is extremely intimate."
5. 8x08: Scene in front of Sheldon's room "The only conclusion was love."
6. 7x15: The train kiss "Well, if you want romance, then let's have romance!"
7. 5x08: They agree to cuddle on the couch "Oh boy."
8. 5x23: Amy working her neuro-biological bag of tricks "We should do this more often-- uh oh."
9. 4x20: They discuss their experiment at the kitchen island "You're a vixen, Amy Farrah Fowler!"
10. 9x20: The tag "Never have I ever..."

The final list is mostly me following my gut instinct cause I have such a hard time ranking these lists and I could have probably spend another eternity sorting this but whatever let's go with this one! I tried to spread it a bit and keep it to one moment per episode to have a nice mix.

By the looks of the lists posted so far and from what Tensor has said the final reveal is going to be interesting. We all seem to have very different lists though to be fair there have been a lot of great Shamy moments and getting them down to 10 is difficult.

TBH, I was never a big fan of Daphne. I preferred Roz.

It was pretty sad, that Frasier and Roz didn't end up together. :(

I think the point was, Leonard felt bad about kissing the girl on the ship, and, as a result, he dreamed of Penny doing the same thing to him, but with Sheldon.

I think we did see the peck on the lips.

I believe it was the kiss Sheldon witnessed, in Spock Resonance.

Ok, everyone, if you haven't sent me your list of your top ten Shamy moments, and you wish to, you have about one more day.  List them in order with number one as your favorite, send it to me in a PM with Shamy10 as the subject.  It can be a moment with only one of them (think Sheldon's "She is not for you").  Any PMs that arrive before I wake up on Saturday, will be included.  I'll start putting them up, one a day, starting with number 10, on Sunday, the 7th.  With the number one moment going up on Tuesday, the 16th, the night of the first taping.

Been thinking about the rumored Spockumentary return episode they are thinking of doing in Season 10. Is it possible that Sheldon is perhaps reluctant to see it? Maybe that is the storyline he is reluctant to see it and Amy wonders why, perhaps asking Leonard and Penny why but they won't say. Kind of like a Solder Excursion moment, it's a display of a vulnerability and Sheldon is reluctant for it to be on display.

I personally don't have confidence on the spockumentary coming def into play.  Steve made it clear at Comic-Con it was coming to life in Real Life and possiley the Sheldon plot will be mentioned in the real spockumentary.

That being said, I think seeing it would be incrediably difficult for both of them, Amy first hand seeing how hurt & vunerable he was.  But at this point its not necessary.

Of course, there's always the possibility of ideas getting axed and Molaro prefaced his statement that this isn't fixed, yet. But the way he brought it up out of the blue makes me think that he has a story in mind that he really wants to tell with that. I mean, a fan just asked if they plan for more Star Trek stuff in the show in general and they could have just as easily picked the 50th anniversary, or the latest movie, or the upcoming show - but Molaro immediately went to the Spockumentary: "... in the world of Big Bang Theory, I figured, that movie is also going to come out, so maybe when the Spock documentary comes out that Sheldon is apparently in something will happen." Idk, he sounds pretty excited about that idea.

Depends on how its edited, I think. I also have no need to see him yelling at Penny and I agree it's not necessary for Amy either cause she already knows the breakup was hard on him. What I would like her to see though would be his accounts on how he started to emulate Spock as a coping mechanism cause it explains a lot about why he is the way he is and that kind of understanding might help her in their relationship.

Of course if the writers go down that road it has to be handled delicately - but in the past they've already proved to be able to do that.

I also keep thinking about what path they go down with that idea. I agree, it might be possible that Sheldon might be reluctant to see it or not wanting Amy to see it either. As said above, it kinda depends on how they edit his parts. Will all of it be in it? Then the story could be about Sheldon being worried about how his interview part will come across. Will they mostly go for the more upbeat fun parts? It could lead to the ring coming back into play and maybe even a proposal. Will they concentrate on the Spock parts (which would make the most sense for the documentary)? That would be perfect for a tender character focussed story.

Finally submitted my top 10 list, choosing from 17-18 Shamy moments that came to my head right away when I started thinking of fav moments (I decided that if I go through all episodes writing down all my fav moments it would be more than a hundred and it would be nearly impossible to narrow it down to 10) and I was surprised to see that at least half of them were from season 9!
It made me realize again how amazing last season actually was and how much we got from it <3
Some of the Shamy moments that used to be my fav in other seasons now seem so insignificant after s9 aired, or much less significant, I mean in a good way, cause Sheldon's grown so much and now small sweet gestures on his part don't strike me as unusual anymore
