I wanna wish a very  Happy New Year to all the Shamy fans ! Hope you get to celebrate the new year with your loved ones . It is still few hours before New Year, where I live but I am gonna be out tonight and probably be very tipsy later, so I'm posting now Lol. I don't post as much as some of you but I really enjoy reading your thoughtful analysis , nuance and overall positivity.

Here are some of my favorite Shamy moments of 2016, including a few from season 9 :giveheart:

Just got back from our Holiday Cruise, and am busy doing laundry before going out to watch football tonight (Go Buckeyes!), so I figured I would drop by to say Happy New Year, Shamies!
BTW- played a LOT of trivia this week... our team name?  Bazinga!, of course!

Happy New Year Shamyland! I'm a bit late (in any possible time zone, I guess...) for toasting to a wonderful 2017 for all of us, but it's always time to open a bottle of champagne! I hope this new year will bring us all joy and will be full of Shamy feels!

So we are in a new brand year, for we  still do our best in our lives! Whoo! :icon_cheesygrin: Happy 2017 , shamy friends!

So last night the scenario in 4 b might be something like this, but I bet this time Sheldon helped with the dishes, lol!

Maybe Amy had a private dance too! The girl deserved it! *sighs*

Well, we hope our Sheldon and Amy had fun before the celebration knocked them down, lol!

With regards to the upcoming episode: Do we know when it takes place? Before or after New Year's? Cause Shamy are supposed to just be back from Texas which makes me wonder if they stayed there for over a week and celebrated New Year's there??

In tr was mentioned lenny was taking off the Christmas decorations when shamy came back, was it or am  I wrong? Dont remember well...

Maybe shamy spent the new year's in Texas and the Sheldon "rebelion "happened after Christmas's.

I was wondering that too...Lenny are taking off the Christmas decorations, do we know when Americans do that? I'm assuming, based on the good share in Christmas movies I've watched in my life, after NYE, but I'm not really sure...

Yes, they were just taking them off. I know the tradition usually is to take them down at Jan 6th or maybe at some convenient day between New Year's and Jan 6th. The episode airs Jan 5th so it would fit with that convention if air-date = TBBT time.

Of course we could also assume Lenny were taking them down early because Sheldon doesn't like Christmas but... after the whole pregnancy timeline issues when it comes to trying to explain away these things I'm a bit like:

I know many people who take down their tree and decorations on New Years Day.  Many others (me included) wait until after Little Christmas (also know as The Feast of the Epiphany or Three Kings Day) which is January 6th.....

Agree! That gif expresses it perfectly :icon_cheesygrin:

However as Sheldon doesn't live anymore in 4 A, the lenny decorations would not bother him, I guess. Maybe the time line this time only has a day of difference for 6 th January and they were taking the decorations off for the convention. :)

I have a strong feeling that Sheldon would be a "take the decorations down on New Years Day" sort of person.  Take the "don't you maniacs own a calendar" line.  It's not December anymore so Christmas is over...time to move on.

From what we know I had just assumed that the 4A meet up in this episode where they reflect on what each couple experienced takes place in early January. Probably like you and others have said around the time when decorations usually come down. It would be a Lenny kind of thing to do for them to leave decorations up a couple of days after they are usually brought down and Sheldon coming up with some historical factoid about when they should lol. But I guess we shall see.

Lenny do go out to get their own Christmas tree so you would assume that would have been before Christmas Eve or Day. Shamy must have been away then otherwise they would have seen it being carried up the stairs/heard the noise as it crushed Leonard had they been there.

To be fair: Sheldon is the "Don't put up decorations in the first place." sort of person so he could just as well start complaining on Dec 27th. LOL

From what I understand from the TR Lenny ask Shamy about Christmas before H/B/R/S + Halley arrive - so I got the vibe that this is the first time they met up after the holidays. And Shamy certainly would have been away since probably at least the day before Christmas (Idk when exactly that meal with Mary is supposed to take place... Christmas eve? Christmas day??).

Anyway, my inquiry was mostly because I was curious where Shamy would have spent New Year's and Texas seems like a possible option.

It could be one of those questions that we will never know an answer to unless the dialogue specifically provides one, if they say they spent the holidays in Texas then that is pretty broad lol. I guess we will know in 4 days time. :icon_wink:

Oh, Thank you....In my Country traditionally we take everything off on "Little Christmas" (or, as we call it, Epiphany). It is a festive day for us and, apart of the religious meaning of the Three Kings that visited baby Jesus,  kids get gifts, usually small toys or stockings full of candies if they have been "good kids" or sweet coal if they have been "bad kids" during the year, from an old lady, called Befana (it's "our" version of Santa Claus, I guess, but kids around here believe in Santa too...) which travels the world riding a broom. Not sure if this is a "thing" also elsewhere, or if it's just an Italian tradition.

I also think that the episode will take place a couple of days after NYE and Shamy spent NYE in Texas. As for when his tantrums and rebellion happened, I'm guessing on a non festive day, probably on the 23rd, because they were eating (take-away??) hamburgers in the promo-pics, pretty sure Mary cooks something more traditional for Christmas.

I want a NYE episode with a party for all the gang and with Shamy toasting to the New Year so badly!! Every year I hope for something like that...Who's with me? Shall we start a petition right away? I'm confident that there will be S. 11, so there's still some time... It would be so nice to see them together celebrating the New Year!

In my country we take everythig off on "Little Christmas" too, although the kids open their gifts in Christmas Eve by midnight or in Christmas day morning. In my family we have always opened the gifts by midnight of Christmas Eve, tradition we are keeping with my 5 years old niece.

Oh well spotted! Yeah they seemed to be eating take away and Mary is not woman of eating fast food on Christmas time!

I want so badly a NYE episode too,  feel you pain, lol! Maybe next season we have our wish coming true! :)

BTW, did you notice shamy is holding hands before Sheldon got his ear pierced in one of promo photos? I am so melted here, love these two!
