I was wondering the same thing and hoping that you are right.  Perhaps a flashback to their time together on the train, especially if a proposal's in the offing? I don't know if this is meant to be the Valentine's Day episode or not, but if this is the lead-in to either V-Day or Sheldon's birthday, I could see this trip with Amy as what finally pushes Sheldon to get the ring box out of the safe.  Actually, I could totally see him asking Amy, on his birthday, to give him the gift of marrying him.

So I need to say that I'm very happy with this episode, for one part it's a very crucial thing to know the feelings of the girls! (The ShAmy part) the ring, of course, if we think of it a lot just imagine Amy, If were me, I can't imagine knowing for almost a year that my boyfriend had a ring but the proposal never comes up (so hard for her). I think this is a way from the writers to show us that the proposal it's coming and I think that Sheldon is going to give us a clue in the next episodes! 

other scene, Amy looks hot for go to a party? Woo I can't wait to see her, Mayim it's a very pretty woman and she will be amazing with good clothes.  

And the tag scene of course, it's this a dream? OMG Jim it's working out very hard so I can imagine what is going on under that's flash t shirts!! Woo!  Can't wait to see Amy's face looking to a hot Sheldon! 

 

And the last, I know we all had a lot of theories since the Instagram photo about the train and anyone was very close to the reality but anyway I'm so happy because they look very happy together, more and more intimate and close, and that's the important thing, the proposal may can't come but for me they are already a happy married couple

We had a great time last night!

It wasn't really a Shamy episode - until the tag at the end, but it was funny! Leonard and Howard wanted to get Sheldon out of the way so they could work on their government contract in peace, so Leonard gave him tickets to go on a 'train experience' weekend! He was obviously very excited about this and left them alone to 'become an engineer' ("But a train engineer, not a goofy one like you are!"). The problem was, they needed his help...the Shamy moment comes at the end when Sheldon and Amy are on their way to the train, and she imagines him there shovelling coal with no shirt and then takes her water and pours it over himself, flicking his hair like a shampoo advert!

I wonder what Amy was talking about when she entered 4b and said "He finally used it". 

I wouldn't hold my breath about a continuation of the train visit in the next episode. It would be nice but I doubt it. I was hoping that this would be the Valentine's episode with a proposal, and with the title and the train visit it sounded perfect. Anyway, I'll put my hopes on the next one. I still think an engagement is coming soon, especially now that Sheldon has told Mary they live together (or that Sheldon knows that Mary knows).

I was under the impression that Amy already knew about the train outing gift that Leonard had for Sheldon.  I got the feeling that Leonard has been holding on to it for awhile, kind of a "use in case of emergency" sort of thing.  So when Sheldon told her about it, she was remarking on the fact the Leonard had finally pulled the trigger and had given it to Sheldon.

I loved Amy in the sneak peek at 4B! First she wants to point out she is the one hosting girls nights now, she hasn't really gotten over the "popular girl" phase, has she?, LOL! Then, and above all, she gushes over Sheldon as she was at the beginning of their relationship; she is "dating Sheldon Cooper", but now she has really something to gush about! The line about the fact Sheldon is like her College boyfriend, except that he is actually real is both sweet and sad! I really liked that part!

I really liked that part too. It 's sad Amy and Sheldon had not so many things other teens had in their time but at same time I am very glad that they are now living these things in best way. It is never late to find hapiness and our couple is so happy now! Listen to Sheldon's laugh now and look at that bright Amy's smile as she was talking with girls! 

And later we have shamy passionate kiss!

Wow, the next few episodes sound really great and I can't wait to see how it all plays out on screen.

 

I can't wait for the new episode, as always, I'll be seeing it a little bit later, so I'll be relying on your lengthy  posts and pics and gifs and stuff (which is always fun).

 

I read the TR on Tumblr and of course I'm all about shirtless JP, but as for the rest of the episode, I have more questions than answers.

 

1. I read Amy looked hot? I wish someone could define that for me 'cos my mind is all over the place with that one. It's been on my wishlist since forever for her to dress even just a little better, even if it was just once. 

 

2. Amy gets weepy when she talks about the elusive engagement? That's kind of sad, cos I know if I knew my partner had a ring and we were living together, sharing a bed, a space, having fun together and engaging (if only once) in intercourse, I would expect an engagement. Otherwise I would think I was doing something wrong and I'd start second guessing everything I'm doing. But that's just me. Hopefully Sheldon pops the question or they talk about it and decide what's the best way to go forward. I want them both to be happy at the end of the day.

 

Anyway, I'll be daydreaming about the next few eps and refreshing constantly tomorrow morning to see what went down.

Amy surely would think about those things you mentioned. However she knows Sheldon very well and one of the things she learnt about him all these years of relationship was she would wait for he was ready for some things.  And the way Sheldon had progressed about compromise, he had envolved physically and emotionally  with her lately has been in a positive and progressive way, I mean, Amy knows he is getting there eventually and soon for all things they have accomplished lately. Amy was not herself ready for such step in their lives before they reunited and it has been a mutual learning together for one day they naturally marry each other.

Amy is an inteligent and sensitive woman and she knows she is loved by her Sheldon as much as she loves him. It is only a question of a ring on her finger officialy because in their hearts and souls they are bonded for real . A ceremony is only for share in an official way with family and friends.  Amy knows the waiting will be worth

I actually don't think Amy's unhappy about her relationship or at the, excuse me, warp speed at which it has moved in this season. The girl was gushing about Sheldon and how amazing and honeymoony it all is not so long ago. I am guessing (hoping?) that the way it will play out in the episode is that she wanted to join in with the girl-talk of bitching about your relationship. And of course the showrunners wanted to make that cutting-edge lactation joke. Which - at least the show is implicitly rebuking Amy and Penny for being babies there, I suppose? Yeesh.

As to the engagement: Amy's been putting plenty of brakes on the relationship (particularly sexual) in this season. She took coitus off the table at the time of cohabitation. She fled from Sheldon The Seducer. Painting her as pining and waiting and hoping for a sign from her aloof tormentor just for the sake of the lactation joke is just...well, @April reminded me that these writers are slags for a cheap gag. And it is very true. 

But even if you think Amy's frustrated at not being engaged yet (at which, may I remind everyone, there has been no sign otherwise this season): she could ask him. This being Two Thousand and Seventeen of years in this our Common Era.  Waiting to be asked suggests that you're not interested in the outcome, but that you want a validation of your worth as a romantic object or whatever. And eesh, I suppose that's consistent with Amy. But even so? Dude, Sheldon has been bending over backwards this season to work past his boundary issues for you. He's shown he wants you multiple times. He organised brunch (brunch!) and cooked and laid the table for you. You cannot be in doubt that he wants you. If you ever were - again, Amy on-screen has never been shown as doubting her own romantic or sexual worth, and good for her.

Ah well. At least Amy geeks out about Renaissance dancing. That's something to look forward to.

Totally agree, @wowbagger!

I don't think the scene is to show that Amy is generally unhappy. What Penny does is what we would call here "jammern auf hohem Niveau" (meaning complaining for the sake of it even though everything is fine) and Amy is joining in to get to the joke. But the rest of the season she's been shown to be very very happy with how things have been progressing to the point of being able to brag about him in front of her married friends for whom that ring on their finger didn't exactly improve their relationships. And by the end of the same episode she's eager to get to that train thing with Sheldon cause she found a way for how she could enjoy that, too. LOL

Point being, Amy should be allowed to have her little weak moments where she shows that she's still yearning for progress in the relationship even though they are in a good place now. You want the audience to root for them to get to the next big milestone and a reminder that the ring is still out there and Amy still wants it certainly isn't the worst decision after, as said above, Amy was the one who put on the brakes a few times this season. So she's ready and willing to go further, good to know.

Yeah loved that bit of the sneak peek, saw a bit of the old school Amy there.

As outside observers we all know things are going great between them right now, but Amy also acknowledging that to the girls is also great to see. Positively gushing about Sheldon like the old times but clearly for more substantial reasons now.

Happy to hear that Sheldon is asking her about her day, I used to bang my head at times during their early relationship when he showed no real interest. Of course it led to some nice moments like the tiara, but I much prefer this Sheldon 2.0, one that cares more, even the smaller things.

And we still have the passionate kiss, miss you/no I will miss you more and the flirty hello when they meet up at the spa to look forward to!

True! Amy's smile as she said Sheldon asks for her day was the cutest ever! Sheldon 2.0 could get the award of best caring boyfriend, I am so happy for Amy and for him, who has been doing a great job as he express better himself about emotions and he's still improving! I wish we could see one of those "how was your day" talks, as they were preparing for sleep or were having dinner. The possibilities for shamy lovely moments are now tending to infinite. Like how much they miss each other if they were apart

Oh, I agree that Amy, as she often does when she is with her girlfriends, wanted just to join the "grown ups" club, and in particular, this time, its "let's complain about our relationships" sub-section; thanks goodness Bernie reminded her and Penny that that was the "Girls wanna have fun" sub-section. She has been shown to be very happy this season and actually in few episodes her relationship has grown as it hadn't done in six years. I guess that was just a reminders to the audience that the ring is still out there, we are just very lucky the writers have done that only a couple of times this season, I thought they would have teased us much more than this on the subject...

I'm not really sure, though, that the way the writers have handled the ring allows Amy to ask him, if she really feels frustrated by the situation (again, I don't think she is frustrated at all). I mean, had she not known about the ring, that would have even been my favourite outcome, but the sad truth is she knows Sheldon has a ring and she knows that at the moment he has decided, for whatever reason, to not pop the question. Doing that herself could be interpreted as putting pressure on Sheldon or pushing him towards something he is not ready for just yet. In this situation, she might feel compelled to wait, not for validation, but for her mate to be 100% sure.

Yeah they were all having something to complain about when it came to progress in that discussion and Amy wanted to chip in with something related to her life.

I do think it's likely that she has been thinking about the ring and wanting to get engaged, but I don't think there is any major frustration though that it hasn't happened yet. She's not going to push, but could I see her perhaps talking more about it to Penny or Bernadette at some point the longer it drags on. What if there is no proposal yet and we are quite a way into Season 11? In their universe never mind ours that is a long time between knowing about the ring and an actual engagement. It's unlikely in my view that it doesn't happen this season but you just never know.

Would she propose? I get the impression she wants Sheldon to do it and not the other way around. Not that there is anything wrong with a woman proposing before someone thinks I am playing to a stereotype here. And like @mirs1 said with the way the ring was revealed makes it more difficult for Amy to broach the subject or even propose.

I'm a hardcore feminist and all that jazz, and I think women should propose more if they want to. But in this circumstance, I really hope it's Sheldon who proposes. Amy is very much a progressive woman, but she still likes traditional practices such as the man proposing to the woman, and that's totally in her right.

I think it is also right for them since Sheldon has more difficulties with changes so allowing him to decide when he is ready for it seems to be a good choice. However since it's Sheldon we are talking about, it would have been nice to have someone talk to him about it and see what he thinks, maybe he is afraid it will ruin what they currently have. If Amy is afraid to ask him herself (and I would understand that, they are in a great place but this is sensitive) she can ask Leonard to sniff around, he can have heart to heart with Sheldon. I believe Leonard and Amy got a little closer now that they're neighbors and she is living with his former hard-to-live-with roommate. If she is not comfortable with that she can also ask Penny to talk to Sheldon.

I agree, Amy is not frustrated at all with their presente moment of her and Sheldon's relationship. I 'd say she has never been so happy before and as I have said it is so clear as she speaks about Sheldon. The same from Sheldon's side, and I believe Amy would like Sheldon who would propose but I believe she would be woman for doing that, as Amy is very into equality and is determined enough to seak the things she wishes for. The writers will make the proposal soemthing really especial, the waiting is will be so worth for us and for shamy, lol!

Meanwhile, there is this kiss that I know I will grin like mad when I watch it tomorrow's Dawn, lol!

I would be all day if I could  gushing over about shamy....There is always someting for say about them that has not been said before, isn't it?
