I did not think of the ring as I saw this scene but I must confess I can see the proposal happening in  a moment like this: both alone as Sheldon might make a list of reasons why he loves Amy and why they must spend the rest of their lives together. Then they would annouce the event to their friends.

Writers, come on! :)

I wonder how they share the house chores. I't seems  amy makes the meals

I feel like they both cook! Sheldon has shown to cook here and there, like with the brunch ep. And he seems to be good at it. I can picture Amy going and running errands, buying groceries. Sheldon probably does all the laundry and cleans. Obviously I've thought about this too much. :p

IDK.  Did you draw a picture of these thoughts?

The laughs track is something very annoying imo. If I could I would remove it from the shows I watch. The DVD discs should have an option for we remove it as they have to remove subtitles if we want. The laughing in that quote about Amy's dad was baffling indeed. It is funny that if we sycronize the time between laughs in the show, we heard them every 10-15 seconds?  It is non sense, we laugh when we thought it was funny, right? But the show has pauses as the actors say their lines for the laughs being inserted at final version. Oh well there are not perfection about tv shows , lol! But without the laughs track could almost reach perfection :)

It's a live audience and it's an integral part of the show. Like as if you were sitting in a theatre. If you simply cut out all the laughter you'd end up with a lot of awkward pauses and weird timing cause the show was recorded with the audience and the actors adjust their performance to the reactions.

There are shows that are recorded without a live audience and then add laughter later (I think that was the case with How I Met Your Mother) and I think taking out the laughter altogether could work with them. But with shows like TBBT it's not a good idea simply due to the way it's recorded.

Personally, I barely notice the audience anymore.

My phone is crazy, the post was gone! But I reposted it. Sorry...

You are right, I was only rambling about what I would like about it. But yeah, it is impossible for a show like tbbt.

I wish I could barely notice the laughs like you though.

So I have rewatched the episode a few more times and there are two things I enjoyed that I would like to share:

- Shamy has been redecorating  every room of 4B. Even the fridge has papers of them that look like lists of stuff hanging there and there is a paper which seem a scientifical article as the image on it seems an image from something from celular components. It is now their place for real :)

-Sheldon sugested to Howard to keep filing Bernie with babies. Sheldon sugesting Howard to keep having sex? Good lord, Sheldon definitely became a grown man, lol! Amy, good job, girl! :icon_cheesygrin:

Just watched the episode guys!

I really liked it. I thought it was funny and the Shamy moments were so cute.

When Sheldon was checking the phone to see what emotions Lenny were experiencing, Amy almost had to tip toe to see the screen and it struck me for the first time in a long time, that height difference! I love it!

I thought the bedroom scene was so cute and adorable. To me, the best Shamy moments are the sweet and tender ones they have when they're all alone.

When it's just them, I feel like they can have these honest and open conversations about everything and anything. I can't really see that for the other couples on the show, so in that regard, on an emotional level Shamy's just the best.

Didn't think Sheldon was being mean when he called Amy a sad sack, plus he did apologize. Amy's reaction to him telling her she looked weird without the glasses gave me the impression that she felt the same way, which is good.

Key word of this this episode is unity.

Shamy were a united front. Loved how they both got annoyed at all the little digs their friends kept making. I've never seen them so in sync, so that's good.

Final thoughts on the ep is that it was really sweet from a Shamy perspective and I can just see this as being the foundation for bigger things to come.

Okay so I watched it again...You have all expressed so many of my thoughts....so just some of my random thoughts...

S/A could not be more in sync.  When I watched the 2nd time I focused on them as a pair and it was quite astounding to watch.

The scene in the bedroom was just perfect.  I actually loved Sheldon's line about her putting her glasses back on. She didn't look like "his Amy" without them.  Him snuggling up to her pillow, him lifting his head slightly to accept her kiss on his cheek.  It was such a lovely moment.

I'm still struggling with Amy's reference to her Dad, I just can't decide what that meant.  I thought that it might be telling that Sheldon didn't question that remark, that maybe he knows something about her Dad that we don't know.  I'm really not sure.

Is anyone besides me bugged that Sheldon has now been on their bed, more than once, with his shoes on!  I was not raised in a household that was concerned about people having shoes on in the house (I know some people are) BUT...we never, ever put our feet up on a bed with shoes on. Sheldon doing that surprises me.

Anyway, that's all I've got...lovely Shamy episode.  I wish I felt as good about the Lenny & Raj story lines.

I was actually kind of bothered by him saying she looks weird without glasses. I mean, she wasn't wearing glass when they slept together the first time. Did he think she looked weird then?

I don't think he was looking in her eyes at the time.

I've thought about it ever since Amy came home with shopping that included a raw aubergine. Obviously even without a proper kitchen she'll cook from scratch. Sheldon can cook out of packets and make salads. Neither of them is averse to going out for meals, bringing in take-aways or ordering food delivered, so they have a home-cooked meal sometimes and a pre-made one on other nights. Sheldon is obsessive about laundry so I expect he does it for both of them. I don't suppose either of them lets the place get very untidy or dirty. They probably keep it clean and tidy as they go along.

When Sheldon runs out of the room and lies down to go to sleep, I don't think he ever stops to take off his shoes. We usually see him run and then somebody go in to talk to him when he's already lying down. In his old room his feet would have hung over the edge of the bed, so shoes wouldn't have mattered. I'm waiting for the day when Amy is cheesed off or riled up and wants to storm out but can't do so because Sheldon is already hogging the only bedroom in a sulk. She's the one who's always had her own place to go to at the end of the day. It could be one of these occasions will lead to their getting a house or a bigger apartment.

Obnoxious Amy used to be a female Sheldon. Possibly Amy's father used to tell her he was proud of her back in her robotic days whenever she did consider others for a change and she's saying what her father said. Or perhaps Amy took after her father and he's never evolved like she and Sheldon have, so she's proud of Sheldon for doing what her father couldn't.

Loved to know your thoughts about the episode, as usual.

And that possibility (bold) you mentioned is very interesting. I like the feeling it invokes on me as shipper as Sheldon and Amy have talked about many things from their background before they met. It is a level of intimacy that I really hope they have and that scene might have revealed a bit of that. :)

I like to think of that too. Sheldon must already have known Amy's grandma had died, that she had a turkey neck and that Amy missed her. He wouldn't have guessed all that in such a short time.

I see Sheldon being a great baker. No Raj, but who is? We have seen him do homemade bread for Penny going way back, Lemon Bars for Leonard.  Amy seems to cook more actual meals. I do remember him getting both himself and penny food poisoning trying to make Swiss food. Lol.  Also, I bet his ability to follow a recipe with exactly correct measurements must be meticulous ...I think this would lend it's self nicely to baking.

Well...Shamy have been together for six years, I think it's safe to say they know about their family history and they have talked about their relationship with their parents and what possibly went wrong there. The problem is that we as viewers don't know anything about Amy's conversations with Sheldon about those matters, LOL!

As for Amy's line about her dad, after having re-watched the episode, I think it has to do with all those daddy or mummy issues that the writers are so keen of. Amy said "You knew you hurt my feelings and I'm proud of you for reasons that I'm sure have something to do with my father"; IMO it means that it's quite odd to be proud of a person who has just hurt your feelings and that might be explained with a distorted father-daughter relationship. Just trying to find a sense to a very convoluted line, though!

They have been together for 6 years indeed but before their breaking up they were not so connected, know what I mean?

And there is the evolution of Sheldon emotionaly as now Amy is able to talk to him about her issues  without his unsensitive remarks. He even is supportive about her.

That's  what I meant to say when I said about how is warm to my heart seeing shamy having heart talks on screen and getting by hints that they also have them often off screen. :)

It would make more sense to me if he had thought it that first time (without saying it, even him can't be so insensitive), than now.  I understand the feeling, when you are used to see a person with glasses always, the first time you see her without them looks weird, it happened to me when my coworker begun to use contact lenses, but at this point he has seen her without glasses enough times to get used to it, It shoudn't look weird anymore.

I think Sheldon  said Amy was weird without glasses as something harmless, as she had just said she doesnt see well without them. Many people who wear glasses heard that from their SO  in a playful way. He had just said to her he loved her the way she is too. Weird included, it was implied imo. :)

@Anita, I edited the post because I wrote "harmfull" instead "harmless". Sleepy brain, sorry.

I think Sheldon is used to see Amy without glasses when she goes to bed, because of course you don't sleep (or have sex) with your glasses on. This time she took her glasses off at an unusual time, to prove a point and not for her own comfort, so probably that's why he noticed it and found it weird.

if I'm honest, I hadn't given a second thougt to the line, I don't think it holds a meaning, it's the writters way to add humour in a emotional scene. It has been serenaded214 post who made me think about it.

Probably I'm just speaking from my own experience, but you know...family background talks are one of the first "deep" subjects of conversation I have with my SO, and relatively early in the relationship. That's why I'm not convinced  it is something Shamy are discussing about just recently after they made up. Probably that was not at the very beginning, because at that point Amy was too robotic and probably even less in touch with her emotions than Sheldon was. But I think it happened at some point along the way.

I know where do you came from because to me things about family background work in same way with my SO. I was only saying that I think shamy deepened their talks later than most of couples due their robotic behavior in beginning of their relationship. Course they talked about things but after they reunited and started to live together I think it deepened. Sheldon dated Amy for  long time without behaving as a true boyfriend and it s from there my feeling that  they started to talk more intimately about their background after they reunited and later started to share a place. Maybe this is only a feeling of mine, course for much I believe in it   it doesnt make it canon.  Just my thoughts :)
