However, it wasn't just the driving Sheldon wanted - he wanted her with him sleeping in the carabouse. And she did get to see him ( we hope ) in real life fulfilling her daydream. She was pretty willing to put her foot down to get there earlier. I think she should have chosen a fairer example. Just a little bit of storyline recency bias. She may have really been grumbling about it (for example how early it was in the morning when they set off - which we didn't see), but the daydream might have changed all that lol. On the innuendo thing I like seeing Shamy being flirty or suggestive with each other and wouldn't want to see it go, just really want to see (or an indication) of some kind of pay off sometimes from it. I mean, for years, Sheldon has many interesting traits, some people love them, some people hate them, people are different, that's OK. But now the writers told us Sheldon CAN drive, people who hate him now can put this in that "selfish" category, I'm not saying I don't think he is selfish, and I indeed have mixed feelings about Sheldon sometimes, but I absolutely LOVE the trait that "he can't drive, so people have to chauffeur him around", I think this fits his character very much, not to mention we already got a very funny and classic episode evolving around this. But, just like the three knock habit(which I LOVE too by the way, and I don't care that cliche and Psychological shadow explanation AT ALL), the writers took this away as well. I mean, I don't get it, why would the writers do this? There are NO up side in both cases, people who hate his traits can still hate him, now with this brand new "evidence"; people who love his traits just are disappointed with all this. Now, I still think that Sheldon is the writers' favourite character, but I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I feel the writers just hurt him so deeply. I'm not sure that there's that much new about it. They already had him tell Leonard that he can drive 2 years ago because Amy taught him and his reasoning then was part that he's not a secure driver and part his rather thinly veiled selfishness (twisting this as "compromising"). The only thing new is that he's admitting to Amy that he actually got his licence.

To add another example: We saw Sheldon referring in 10x01 to their courtship as "remarkably slow" which, as you point out, really stands out from Sheldon's comments he would make in the past that were more along the lines of "everything is happening so fast!!!" Seeing how shortly after 10x01 things changed dramatically we might be looking at something similarly here. Or at least I hope we are. I'm really curious about the next taping now. I didn't dare to hope that this might be *the* episode, then again it's exactly the kind of thing Jim would love to tease us about! So who knows? Anyway, as I've said plenty of times in the past days I also think that both are ready and willing to take their physical relationship further and it might just turn out that since this is new for both of them neither wanted to make the first step. Like, Sheldon waits for Amy to say something cause she took coitus off the table when they moved in together and later stuck to her guns when he tried to seduce her, and maybe Amy waits for Sheldon to say something cause she's just so used to be patient with him or whatever. Thinking about it could be hilarious when they end up being all "Why didn't you say something!?" - "Why didn't you say something!??" LOL Yes exactly! He's always talked about how fast their relationship has moved and all of a sudden this season (where, arguably, it has moved faster than it ever has) he's saying it's extremely slow? Oh Sheldon, you nut. Yeah, I'm trying to err to the side of caution with the next taping! Because even if it LOOKS like the exact type of situation where coitus could be addressed, it is extremely likely that it's not the case and it's a different kind of bed scene. However, I'm stoked no matter what for another bed scene. :D And both Jim and Mayim seem pretty stoked for it as well! I also wanted to add that I really liked Shamy in this episode. Their date scene felt like the date of a seasoned couple who had been together for a really long time. I mean, they have. But more and more I'm seeing the maturity in their relationship, and how them being together is totally the new normal with no danger whatsoever of that changing. Even their fight felt very mature, especially the making up part. I liked how it segued so seamlessly from Amy being mad into her teasing him about having his own secrets. And I also liked how Sheldon took full responsibility of his actions and completely understood his wrongdoing and didn't try to make any excuses. This is a very different Sheldon from past seasons, where he just completely wouldn't have gotten what he did wrong. And I totally got major feels seeing their names together on that white board. They are very much a unit now. I even like the idea of them being the "it" couple at the university, even if it means people are gossiping. I just got very strong "it's us verses the world" vibes from this episode, and I really liked it.

I love those teasing moments when they are mutual and there is no "bazinga" attached, like for example the tag in the cabin episode or when Sheldon said "don't make me randy" when he arranged the surprise-brunch for Amy. The one in the promo is charming, if you take it as it is, it's clear that Sheldon is more aware of what he is doing (it also helps that Jim was about to crack during all the scene but was very good at controlling himself and that gave his acting a different intensity) and for sure in it doesn't give me at all a "desperate" Amy-vibe. Anyway, after so many scenes of this kind, I'm just annoyed that the writers find the joke funny, when Shamy best and funniest moments are to me the ones where they are on the same wavelength. RoRo
Ill write more later on what I thought of the episode but 2 things stand out to me. First they had a fight and neither of them left to sleep elsewhere. Second I think there was a missed opportunity for make up makeout/sex. just sayin

Jonny
I will say I also found the way Amy said 'Why are they naughty?' very flirty and kind of cute. Like she thought she was about to coax out of Sheldon something potentially dirty lol. The 'please' also was kind of cute as well. If it was the case (listen writers!) of who would take first step, it would make so much sense and it would be sound so them, as Sheldon is not an expert reading emotions and Amy sometimes might wait too much for having sure he is confortable about some things in their relationship and intimacy is yet something that might put our Shelley not so confortable for taking the lead. BTW, I have to thank you and @Maddie for your posts as they helped my heart get more peaceful about the possible tension in shamy sexual life at moment. And if we could see a moment between them as the tension was too much and they said at same time they would want to make love, oh my friends, I would squee like a mad here, I must confess , lol! Later I will rewatch the episode a few more times and enjoy again the things I loved and understand even better what I was a bit hesitant about. I will be very anxious for next taping. Because that majim's photo , just wow! It could mean the usual shamy goodness as their bedroom scenes are usual great ones but it also could mean something more revolutionary in shamy's nest! Oh boy, this show kills me of feelings! <

2L344
Last night's episode was fine, not spectacular but not bad either. I enjoyed the opening better than most of you I suspect-- I enjoy the simple no-drama antics of the gang, and Raj playing that game with everyone chiming in (and Penny offering a wager) was fun. The Shamy scenes had me pondering things more than anything else. How did Shamy's sex life come up at Caltech that had Sheldon sharing details? Was he bragging (like his drunk call to Hawking when he bragged about kissing girls now) or was he disappointed in the once-a-year thing, or did someone ask and he merely answered without giving any thought to it? And just how did Sheldon get a license without owning a car to take the driving test?? He cant rent one without a license, DMV wont provide him with one, and I assume he didnt borrow one from any of the usual suspects since it was a secret. Dumb question to ponder lol, but I did. The episode also for me was a reminder that as much progress that Shamy have made they still stumble. In this case Sheldon continues to struggle with social norms, like exercising descretion and respecting boundaries. He did a good job of reflecting and offering a sincere apology. And in Amy's case I saw her justifiable anger transform into brooding pout mode that had her retreating to the bedroom. She knows how much Sheldon struggles with these things (just had an episode with him using an emotion detector that ends with him disappointed in himself). To me (and I know a lot of folks will disagree because Amy was justified in being pissed) Amy couldve taken a deep breath when she got home and talked with Sheldon. Instead she did her old school "storm off because you hurt me" impression. To her credit she bounced back fast enough once Sheldon offered his apology. All in all it was an okay episode that had its moments for me. Edited February 17, 2017 by 2L344

Genitals mean Amy Farrah Fowler is the only woman with that restricted acess, so a faithfull boyfriend. Bathroom schedule means stepping into most intimate level of him Love life means Amy is the love of Sheldon Cooper's life. Could they be more married for life? <3 And imo in the zone of Sheldon's secret thoughts is two more things : naughty thoughts about his girlfriend he has been holding for a chance he would have ( we already knew he would, lol) and a certain ring for propose Amy to share his life with . He is not ready for that, probably the driving licence secret saved him of talking about it yet. Going to rewatching the episode. Glorious free friday nights!
