I have a feeling that if Sheldon proposes this season it will likely be towards the end of the season. I hope the writers surprise us though! I really don't want to wait until sometime in season 11 for the proposal. We've known about this ring for so long now. Sheldon needs to stop dragging his feet! Lol

Yeah, I know a lot of folks are concerned that the proposal will be delayed because of the delay and all, but I'm pretty certain it will still happen this season. Unless Sheldon has a specific date or event in mind where he will want to propose, I really don't know what's keeping him waiting! We know he wants to marry her. So slap that ring on her finger, son!

Yes, I don´t want to wait other season neither, or worse, that the writers start to tricking us with romantic dates or specials moments that looks like it can be the proposal time but end with not ring at all!

As I've said before, I think their anniversary might be a good choice,  especially now that their first date has been brought up again. It would also be a nice bookend to 8x24 where the ring was introduced but everything was falling apart - now two years later they're closer than ever and the ring finally ends up where it's meant to be. Or something like that...

It has to happen sooner rather than later. I understand the delay after the break up, they were not ready, but at this point there are no reason for it they are almost married already

17 November will be 6 years since they moved from the status of "boy-slash-friend-slash-girl-slash-friend", and became "Sheldon Lee Cooper, here and after known as the boyfriend, and Amy Farrah Fowler, here and after known as the girlfriend."

I can't see any particular relevance to the 6 year anniversary, or indeed the 7 year anniversary, coming up next year.

Ummm I don't really know why part of my post was hidden lol. It was so vague that I could have meant that this thread is my happy place that I come to to deal with crap in my personal life. And I didn't even vaguely mention any other member. 

But I'm not gonna pollute this thread with nonsense lol. I agree that Shamy are practically married already so any delay to their engagement would be pretty silly. Their 7 year anniversary sounds good to me.

Actually it would be in the S10 finale!

in 8.24 they talked about how they were celebrating their 5 year anniversary, so obviously they work from their first date in 3.23.

I think the proposal will happen this season. A proposal from Sheldon to Amy would not be a cliffhanger, we all kind of know what her answer would be, so I am starting to think that it might not happen in the season finale. I also think that the proposal will not be tied to any significant date in their relationship.  Sheldon planned that once and it failed miserably, so he might be gun shy about that sort of planning.

I can see it happening in the penultimate episode, building excitement for the finale...building continued interest in the show for two additional seasons.

Also, we've had several very strong Shamy episodes that were penultimate episodes as opposed to finale episodes.

For the Season 10 finale, I think they are going to cliffhanger, big time.

I actually agree so much with this. With the bold part - I've honestly wondered if the reason Sheldon is waiting to propose is because he got burned so badly the last time he was getting ready to propose. Which reminds me:

- How exactly was he planning to propose last time?? Was he going to do it during their date in 8.24? Was his line about committing to watching The Flash TV show his way of seguing into that conversation? (think about it: Amy asking "Can you believe we've been together 5 years?" is the perfect lead up question to asking her to marry him) Did Sheldon ask Mary for the ring, or did Mary give it him, and it inspired him to want to propose? I still have so many questions that will never be answered lol.

I know it's likely that Sheldon simply hasn't proposed because the writers haven't found the perfect time just yet. But it doesn't make you wonder if he's a little gun shy like Vonmar mentioned. That's why I really think when the time comes, it will be unplanned, unexpected, and might even fly out of Sheldon's mouth before he even realizes it.

There might not even be an actual proposal scene. It might just be got around to in conversation like it was between Leonard and Penny in the end.

I wonder if the memaw debacle  have something to do with the delay, that episode was awful and in my opinion It tainted the future proposal with that ring a little. The romanticism of the  familiar heirloom lost its significance when memaw said she didn't want it to be in amy's finger.

They are still taking it in steps, or at least Sheldon is. The whole idea of their moving in together was to see if they could cope with each other in a living environment. Sheldon was definitely ready to give that a try. Then he got comfortable moving away from Lenny  permanently and in with Amy. I think Sheldon needs some development time yet before he sees them both, especially himself, as spouse material. He envisages his future married with kids but hasn't quite morphed into his future self yet.

I understand your opinion on this. However imo Meemaw reaction gave a sense of shamy aganst the world that I realy enjoyed. Maybe we might see oneday a different reaction from her to Amy as she would be introduced to his family as his fiancée . After all Amy surely will be Sheldon's wife and Constance really might see they meant to each other and she was unfair to Amy.

I've been envisaging it as somehow they are talking about Meemaw  or feelings about her visit and the conversation moves to the ring. Sheldon makes a point something along the lines you suggest, Anita, and tells Amy he sent it back  to be saved for his nephew. Amy says, ' I want a new one anyway.' Sheldon wants to go to the jeweller's to get one that matches the tiara and they both suddenly realise what they've done.

I think Sheldon might have equipped 4B of a safe wall, in secret. He would not leave none of his most valuable things in 4A, as all his most precious things and person are in 4B.
