I don't  think Sheldon planned to propose in S8.24 either. The thought was in his mind but the idea would have not mattured yet. The reason for his decision to propose in S9.07 was an impulse of the moment, as the breaking up itself and how he was missing badly Amy more than he had never  thought it would be possible he missed, all of this alltogether really disturbed Sheldon immensely. He seeked the only  way he knew that could save him of all that ocean of emotions he was not used to feel : logic and the logical thing was propose her and eventually everything would be all right for them. But life is not easy to anyone and Sheldon learned it in a very bitter way.

Dave kissing Amy moment was like the old Sheldon shutted down , I mean, the moment Sheldon  became a  man who really  needed to grow and learning  to handle with emotional issues as everybody else. It was devastanting in ways to him that Sheldon's mind make a kind of "reebot" about some stuff and the reason imo for the delay of the proposal might be Sheldon only might wish to propose Amy again as he feltin his  heart he would be ready as he was a better man who Amy would marry. As if Amy would refuse, she loves him as much as he loves her.

Shamy proposal surely will be one of the most beautiful and meaningfull  things ever, really can't wait to see it but at same time I will wait all needed time for it feels and sounds just perfect for Amy and Sheldon. It will be worth the wait surely.

About Meemaw, maybe I am in minority here but I think we might see her fixing her bad reaction to Amy, even understandable at time when they met. I know they kind of fixed it before Meemaw left Pasadena but I think it might be better if we coild see another scene between them. Amy really hurt Sheldon and through a grandmother 's eyes, his son was the most hurt. However she should have known from her experience wih her husband that Sheldon had done things in not best way either. That's why I believe it is possible we see Amy and Constance get along well in a scene where we also might see Meemaw has stoped  treating  Sheldon like a child and see them as a grown couple who love each other.

Btw, I would love to hear from Sheldon to Amy why he waited so long to propose. It could be one of their  heartfelt talks that I love so much. As much I think on this, more I wish Sheldon could propose Amy in their bedroom. No, no coitus moments related, lol. In a cute moment as they shared what is in each one hearts

I agree, Sheldon wasn't on the verge of proposing in 8.24, he just had that family ring in his possession and was contemplating marriage. Perhaps, his mother gave it to him when she went to visit for the award Sheldon and Leonard won for their joint work on superfluilds. Obviously, the ring was shown to the audience for adding suspense to the major cliffhanger  the writers were planning and we were left to think that something bigwould have happened that evening. The fight was focused on the word "commitment" for the same reason. Then, in 9.07, Sheldon decided to propose, but for the wrong reason. He still didn't want to deal with his emotions and just wanted a quick way to end his pain, and he thought that proposing to Amy would have been a way to do so. He was not ready for marriage just yet, and probably also Amy wasn't. Both of them had a lot of growing up to make and the way S. 9 progressed and their cohabitation this season probably have helped them in that.

I had no particular problems with Meemaw when the writers introduced her, because I thought her behavior towards Amy was the one of a very overprotective grandmother, she knew Sheldon had suffered very much for the break up and didn't want that to happen again. What I didn't like was in fact the ring revelation. That really was a buzzkill, wasn't it? It has taken away from Amy the surprise of a proposal and left her with all sorts of doubts as for why Sheldon hasn't proposed yet. It's just for this reason that I hope to see an engagement sooner rather than later, probably last season it was still too soon, Shamy were in a good place, but there were still some shadows, as for example the LA which indicated that Sheldon was not exactly ready to live his life with Amy. Now the LA have been addressed, Sheldon and Amy seem very happy to live together and it would not be a huge change for them to get actually married. TBQH, had not Amy knew about the ring for a year now, I wouldn't be that eager for them to get married (apart having a nice wedding, LOL!) because as a matter of fact, they act like a married couple. But Amy knows, so I want her to wear that ring ASAP!

I'm not sure Sheldon still feels about his meemaw the way he used to. She did a terrible thing, pretending to come to see her Moonpie when all the time she only wanted to meet Amy in the flesh and tell her she didn't like her. Whatever nonsense Sheldon told her about the break-up she believed - fair enough if she's that biassed. No doubt he was plausible and didn't admit how he'd behaved.  However, she had no right whatsoever to interfere, and it's not her place to approve or disapprove. For all she knew, Amy would head for the hills again after being subjected to that barrage. Constance was gambling with Sheldon's future happiness and sooner or later a man with Sheldon's intelligence should realise that. 

Why Constance blurted out the injunction not to give Amy the ring, goodness knows. Perhaps she'd realised she'd gone too far and was attempting to retrieve the situation by telling Sheldon to do the opposite of what he should the way Mary described in Zazzy. That's a generous interpretation I think, although not altogether an impossible one. Another is she meant it literally and made a mistake not waiting until Amy was out of earshot. Or, she just wanted to throw a big spanner in the works to see what components conked out. It led to Sheldon's having to tell Amy he had a ring in front of them all, including the old bag who'd just insulted her. What a thing to put any man through, let alone an easily-bewildered man like Sheldon. Poor chap. Disgraceful old woman ! It was kind of Sheldon not to lose all respect for her there and then and call for his Uber to take her right back to the airport. What a change to his world. Small wonder he wanted Amy to cool her jets while he gathered his thoughts. And what a way for Amy to hear about the ring from him. That they both appeased her in consideration for her age and position says a lot for them as a pairing. 

The ring is an elephant in the room now.

I don't think there was any reverse psychology going on, she meant everything she said IMO. Blood runs thicker than water and all that, family loyalty can sometimes blind you to what's going on.

I'll admit at the time a small part of me thought uh oh Amy is going to bolt after that venomous barrage, so glad she didn't obviously! She would have been well within her rights to not take this shit.

Okay...so yesterday my brothers were back on the Shamy are an emotionally abusive relationship train, and my oldest brother thinks Amy's Harry Potter costume surprise was underhanded "because she knew Sheldon wanted to go with her and she went without him—just so she could have that little ace in the hole" Right?! because clearly Amy is just that kind of monster nymphomaniac who only does anything to get something from him. (I am so done with this!) 

However, unlike last time, I didn't let myself get too emotional, I only calmly said I'm happy with the way Shamy are written this season. Also I didn't let this conversation ruin my birthday. I just thought to myself, "I know I have my Sisters (and some brothers) in Shamy here" and on tumblr. We ended having a good time bowling once that topic of conversation dropped. 

There's no point explaining your OTP to outsiders and that's why I wanted to say to you guys, that I'm happy to have joined this forum. 

Back to business, Tuesday is my actual day of birth and so I'm hoping to get a good present from the taping. (Any Shamy goodness would be good for me)

My schedule will finally be different from now on so now I can finally enjoy taping day without stressing about lack of sleep. Too bad though that because of the holiday the taping will fall on the day that my class was moved on! 

As for the bed scene, it could literally be anything. With the train we thought it would be some kind of elaborate Shamy sexcapade but it turned out to be a fantasy tag scene so...
