Here's hoping Leonard and Penny realize they were happier across the hall and think it's weird Sheldon still has turf where they live.

And, seriously, in what world would Sheldon be content sleeping on Penny's mattress on a permanent basis?

I'd be very surprised if there is a new change i 4A/4B arrangements. In all fairness, I clearly didn't see that coming and, before it happened, I also thought I wouldn't have liked it. But, quite frankly, I find 4B really suits Shamy. It's not just Sheldon's own place, it's their place now, so they can build it as they like it, and the decorators are already having a ball with all the easter eggs they from their old apartments they have put here and there for hard-core fans to discover. I can see that some fans are still not used to it but, as @April said some days ago, I think one of the reasons the writers had Raj moving in 4A is clearly to close the door to Sheldon to return there.

Oh sweety, I think that train has left the station quite some time ago now. There's zero indication that Lenny want 4B now - unless you think Raj suddenly makes them want to flee the place (which I don't think is what the writers will be going for).

Of all the things Sheldon has done that people thought he'd never do sleeping in Penny's bed doesn't even crack the top 10, especially now that they've changed the bedding. So I'm not sure what's the issue here??

I know the decision felt a bit alien at the time and might still do for some especially when Sheldon was the one to move into 4A in the first place but it worked out for the best. They get to go and hang with their friends in 4A but if they want some alone time they can go back to 4B. Also I have no doubt in my mind Amy would have had a rougher time of adjustment trying to live in 4A and stand up against things like a bathroom schedule, thermostats etc and who knows maybe the experiment might have failed because of that?

I wouldn't want them in 4A, there would be a good chance Sheldon will slip into old bad routines or habits. Hell even if Lenny decided to move out of the building entirely I would have concerns about them moving into 4A. Sure there is an assumption it would be different now that they know they can live together and they have their own routine now but there is a clear danger imo of slipping into old habits with Sheldon.

I vehemently wanted them in 4A at the time until it was clear that 4B was the real prize on offer here. No I like where they are.

Count me in as one who didn't see the move to 4B coming and surely didn't expect it to be permanent, but now I love seeing the two of them living there being all couply and domesticated!!

Like others have said what I'd love to see now is them shopping for new furniture namely a couch and a bed (or at the very least a new headboard!! )

Agreed especially on the couch, though it wouldn't surprise me if they don't change it as much as we would like. IIRC the last interview I read from Molaro talking about the LA changes and decorations starting to move around was that they weren't going to make big changes as both 4A and 4B are seen as iconic. Does that include the sofa? Perhaps even the actual bed/headboard? Granted this interview was some time ago and perhaps before there had been any serious discussions about a two season renewal.

I would personally change a lot about the living room, but I don't think they will.

I wouldn't change it. It is an iconic set. It gives familiarity and comfort to the viewers. Shamy's blue couch is as memorable as the leather one of Lenny's. Both are important to maintaining these sets. For a show like this why would you re-do everything?

I could totally see that they wouldn't want to change anything if it's only for, say, a handful of episodes when it could be that S10 was the end of the road.

Though now with two more years? I think that's enough to justify being a bit braver with the redecoration. They can still have the same basic setup - two seater plus a chair - but keep it more in line with Shamy's style. The last episode they taped had that little redecoration subplot so it look like they're still not done with it? Fingers crossed! :D

I love that Shamy live in 4b. It forces Sheldon to keep growing. I fear that if they had two bedrooms Sheldon would force Amy to sleep in secondary room without giving it an extra thought.he is being pushed outside his comfort zone while still having the comfort of knowing 4A and Lenny are right there. I think it will interesting when Raj is right across the hall as well. Will force Sheldon to grow closers to Amy...

To be fair to Sheldon: I don't think he would force Amy to sleep in the second room if they moved back into 4A for whatever contrived reason. There was a huge fear prior to 10x04 that this would be the case should they ever attempt to live together in 4A. But not only was Sheldon the one pushing the 4B idea, thus indicating he doesn't have as big of a hangup about sharing a bed with Amy as people thought he would, but he was also shown to be pretty comfortable in their bed scenes together. I mean, the first night he was the one who got more sleep and he even seems to enjoy when Amy snuggles up to him. So no, I don't believe for a moment that he would stop sharing a bed with Amy just because there's another bedroom at their disposal.

Just a lingering fear I guess on my part. I love them living together and learning how to make it work. Is the hang up because it was Penny's place first so she should have it? I guess I don't care what apt they have as long as no going backwards in the relationship. And as long as they mostly leave the sets alone...I also think that perhaps some Lenny fans might not like that as they might see it as them being pushed out of the main apt and further away from center of the show. Don't kill me. I am just wondering about that. I may be wayyyy off base.

The brown leather couch is way more of an icon item and with Penny's stuff still in 4B, it's obviously causing some fans to question the whole LA.  And with 2 more seasons (if things go well with M & M's contract, fingers crossed), I can see them changing the living room of 4B to suit Shamy's taste.  It's not Penny's place anymore so why should it continue to look as if she's coming back?

I believe among the things that might have  been bought by Sheldon and Amy for they use in 4 B might be a new matress whose matress specifications would please both. They indeed sleep on old Penny's bed yet but the mattress might have been other. Personally I dont need to see them buying one on screen because  they might have done it. It is an intimate household iten that I see both caring for having one used only by themselves.

A couple is happier in a place both are able to be together. Furniture, dishes, sofas , desks, they dont make people happier, they are just stuff. As long as both may enjoy these household itens, everything is fine. If they had the need to get new ones, they would be able to take care about that as soon as possible for them.

And last but not least, the stuff Sheldon left behind in 4 A surely is not anything he could not live confortable without it. People when start to live with their SO in their own place usual don't need to have everything they had  until the time they started to live with the other. Maybe we might see soon what Sheldon would do about his stuff is still in 4A as lenny would want Sheldon old room for they use the way they wanted.

Personally  I hope we can see shamy getting at least a new sofa and a new bed. I dont see the whole decoration of both apartments being changed because the sets would loose a bit of their charisma and it would not be good for the show, especially in 4A, the show core. One litle change here, other bigger there and in end we could see the couples redecorated their places in their own way but the iconic stuff can be recognized there.

Fair point . LOL Though Howard went to space and came back and everything was still fine.

I don't think it was fine. I don't see fine as quite the right word. He harped on it until everyone was disgusted with him and to me that's not fine. It led to some good comedy, but some of it was also tedious. I so wished they had played up the angle of a nerd becoming a hero more. But then they couldn't have had the horrible robot going to first base at the ball field, I guess.

i agree with you on Shamy going back to Sheldon and Leonard's place they already love penny's place and Raj has Sheldon bed and Lenny like the place with out Sheldon in it they can't go back to seasons past and Sheldon sleeping on penny's mattress is not gonna be a problem they already had sex on it i mean it's already has Shamy sexy time on it it's theirs now like @April said they don't need a mattress they have one i do think they should get a new couch though penny's is not right for them. as for Sheldon getting his  room back that is not gonna happen he left that when he chose to live with Amy but i am MORE worried about this damn proposal WHEN IS IS GONNA HAPPEN I NEED SPOILERS PEOPLE lol

I guess what was meant as fine was the kind of cliffhanger. Someone correct me please, if I am wrong about this.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Howard went to space and got back without any major drama. Sure, they used it to mine some comedy out of it and the way things go is usually to put the characters through some unfortunate situations but even that wasn't anything terrible and it got us some great stories for Howard, imho.

So if we'd get something like that with Amy - a science project with some long lasting plot ideas and character growth - sign me up! Of course I'm well aware that for the sake of comedy some things won't go smoothly and will be a challenge for Amy (and maybe even Sheldon) as a character but that just makes me like the idea more. lol

That's how I interpreted...

It's true that the writers have often used as a sort cliffhanger the fact some character or the other left, so probably it is getting old as a plot device. Anyway, it's pretty common for scientists to spend some time working with colleagues in other institutions or doing expeditions, if they are useful in their field of interest, so I  can understand why the writers used that as a cliffhanger on 3 occasions (S. 2, 5, 6 finale) and I'd be not surprised if they use it again. When Sheldon left on his train adventure in S. 7 it wasn't that bad as a cliffhanger either. I understand it left Shamy shippers dreading the worst the whole summer, but basically Sheldon returned home in S. 8 premiere and actually nothing happened. Ironically, the worst cliffhanger ever for Shamy happened when both of them stayed in Pasadena living a few miles away from each other...

I laughed so hard that when Amy suggested to redecorate the first thing Sheldon wanted to get rid of was that awful couch. Come on, Shelly, don't give up! Be assertive and throw that thing out!! LOL

I'd be ok for that if it doesn't involve Sheldon complaining somehow he is left alone the whole summer or Amy wondering if she has to go or not. I mean, they are both scientists, Sheldon knows what the it entails, Amy loves her job, so it should be not a big deal to be apart for a few months. I'd love to see some advancements in Amy's career and her having a plot on her own, when for a change Sheldon has just a supporting role.

Indeed! It was so powerfull that the simple mention of it is still painfull for my shipper heart.

Anyway...

I would sign up with my eyes closed, lol! That kind of challenge seeems so great as it might be written as a plotline! Shamy now go through all challenges for the love they feel for each other, so I would not be worried and I'd love to see a great plotline for them side by side with their engangement :)

I would be ok with it too but with 2 conditions ( like the writers are going to listen to me haha !!)..........
1- it's a short stay away which Sheldon could go visit, so that in my summer hiatus imagination they can see each other !!!
2- they get them engaged first so my wee shipper heart can see them super happy before the season ends !

I think spending some time apart even for an understandable reason can be a challenge for them now that they're so close and I would certainly enjoy if the show explored that a bit. Of course I'd want for Sheldon to put on his big boy pants and support Amy in whatever science project she signed on. Even though he sometimes mocks Amy's field of study he also admires her mind above everything else so I think he can easily be persuaded ("For science!" lol).

Anyway, that was just an idea I was throwing around who knows what the writers will do with the rest of the season!?

I want to see that so badly! We have had great Amy supporting Sheldon scenes but we need to see also Sheldon supporting Amy in most important moments for her ! And also Amy standing for Sheldon as gang tries to mock him. I have so many ideas for these two that would be a nice written report for sending to writers , lol!

BTW, Sheldon is friends now with a geologist, a science he did not respect at past, a big growth step from him. I think he now sees Biology and Neurobiology as meaning full sciences and also be proud of how Amy is so good in her job :)

A good part of the show's humor - right from the beginning - has been derived from taking Sheldon out of his comfort zone and pushing his buttons. This could be a version of that.
