I love Amy even more after 10x18. Because nobody messes with her and with her Sheldon and she makes always her point! *fangirl mode on*

And as they look at each other, they know nobody messes with them !

Can't already wait for next episode! *sigh *

That´s right! No matter what people throw Sheldon in the face, as long as he has Amy who covers his back, he can face it.

And no Beverly will unsettle them! Stay back dragon lady! :dwarf:

On my day off, I decided to make this.

I hope I've included everyone. If I didn't, forgive me, but I saved the file, LOL... I could still add you.

I think this encapsulates us. We're crazy and fun and sometimes we're weird, but we're always together (even when we're fighting!).

I just love you guys... out of all the corners of the Internet, I stumbled onto this one and met some incredible people. Tomorrow marks 2 years of me in this thread, and I just love it here.

BTW, FYI - I'm never leaving this place!

That is so lovely! :giveheart:

Very well done Riley7!

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am honestly fed up with it too, and Leonard's current snark in particular. The medication jokes aren't funny at all, and I do agree that Sheldon right now is for the most part a sweetheart and doesn't deserve all these jabs. Especially when he's said far worse things in the past with less consequences. I'm just saying that I was surprised re-watching the early seasons how common those jabs were even back then. That we talk a lot now about people getting meaner but actually even back then they were. There were a lot of jokes when Sheldon wasn't around about how much the guys enjoyed not having him around and tried their best not to have him around. And even back then it was clear that Sheldon often couldn't help it, although we were missing the part where he tries to work on it as much as he does now. And the fact that Sheldon was less aware of the jabs back in the day doesn't make it better, IMO, because regardless of whether he's aware or not, it doesn't reflect well on the other characters. Amy's literally the only character who's never mocked him or taken jabs at him. I guess I just wish the show called them out on it for once, and pointed out how, although these are comments and jabs people do make in real life too and they don't always mean to be cruel, it's not a cool thing to do.

Personally there are two differences for me:

1. The tone is different. How many times did you see comments like that in the past but then got a cheeky grin or a sarcastic smile on their face when they said something like that? Last night in the most recent example those comments going up the stairs had none of that, therefore to me it felt less snarky, taking the piss banter and more mean or nasty. Did anyone notice any sarcasm or cheeky playfulness in Leonard last night in that scene? Because I sure fucking didn't.

2. Sheldon is more aware of it clearly. I can think of many times where he barely showed a flicker of a reaction to those snarky comments, these days you can actually see annoyance or anger in him because I believe he more aware. I think they are lucky he is so meek, because a lot of people wouldn't stand for it.

I have watched every episode more than once so I know none of them are angels, they all enjoy ribbing each other and being snarky. But it felt a lot more playful back then (with the occasional time when it clearly wasn't), recently and this is just my opinion it feels way way different. I think it's a writing change for sure, and writers get rid of those fucking recurring drugging/medication jokes.

Yeah i agree. And it is not just Leonard.  You still have Howard or Bernadette mock Sheldon as being a life mistake made by Amy, even  AFTER the fact that Sheldon agreed to give 25 % of his earnings to Howard's child . Wouldn't you expect them to be nicer?  That joke felt a bit out of place IMO.

Having said that, there have been episodes where they balanced friendship with the jabs very nicely IMO. there was that episode where the guys got Sheldon's back and helped him with a revenge foam prank on Kripke. They still ribbed on each other but it was all cheeky and fun IMO. That time when Sheldon comforted Leonard when Leslie dumped him ?   Leonard got cheered up by the Sheldon's  Comic Con suggestion . And that time when Sheldon asked Leonard to open the asparagus jar to impress Stephanie ?  Leonard actually bought Sheldon's idea , and they both end up making those funny noises to open the jar. Leonard did seem just as much of a dork as Sheldon in those scenes and on some level they both understood each other.

There was also the episode where Sheldon, really wants to help Penny but he says, "Lets just assume everything you have done up to now is wrong" .  Penny also stumps him by asking "Who's Radiohead ?". I thought that exchange was quite playful and funny too. But there definitely are certain times when  the delivery is off and it just comes off harsher, particularly after how much Sheldon has changed.

That Shelnard hug when Prof Proton died ? The guys'  fight over the LOTR prop ? despite the fights, I could still see in those scenes, that they all had, on some level,  an affection and understanding with each other.

Ok..just watched the newest episode again...(as always, I apologize if I am repeating things that have already been said)

The way that Amy gets him to tell her what is bothering him...she is so gentle.  After the scene walking up the stairs, when they enter 4B she says "Talk to me, what's going on".  Later in bed, when he can't sleep, she wakes up and says "Are you okay?...what's wrong?"

His cheeky grin when they are talking about the anniversary gift..."You said "surprise me".  Amy, this isn't your first rodeo, you should know better...lol

Cinnamon is an "attack Tribble"...nice Star Trek reference. I want Sheldon and Cinnamon to become friends.

Finally when Stuart bursts into H/B bedroom with his bat, it's a Walking Dead shout out.  My son noticed..Negan's barbed wire wrapped baseball bat that he calls Lucille.  I don't watch TWD, but my son does and he rewound TBBT twice to be sure. He thought that it was pretty funny that the physically weakest character on TBBT was brandishing such a violent weapon from TWD world.

Anyway, love Shamy in this episode.  Can't wait to see what is in store for the remaining Season 10 episodes.

Yes I loved Amy's softness too and the "talk to me " just made me feel this is what they do now when either is sad / upset -they calmly talk it through !
Oh the feels !!

She perfectly understood that his love for preparedness and the necessity for a plan B in every situation has nothing to do with her personally, it's just what he needs to function in life. I wished she would have appreciated more the fact she is the "dessert" in the case of an apocalypse, but the way Mayim delivered the line was so funny!

Yeah, that was great! I liked how Sheldon recognized the truth of Amy’s explanation and that he was immediately calmed by it. Wanting to have a plan B for every situation does not mean that he considers that situation to be likely in any way. The order that he would eat his friends in the event of an apocalypse is an absurd scenario, but that was his first thought as an example. It seems that he finds the idea of needing an ‘escape hatch’ from his relationship to be pretty darn improbable if that’s the comparison that springs to his mind.

Although that gift to Amy was not a nice surprise, I loved Sheldon 's grin in that scene. Because it reminded me how this guy did not even know how to smile before he met Amy and he did not also know to do something for the pleasure  of doing a prank to someone as it would make him to have fun , not as something he would show his superior intelect. Amy said for Sheldon surprised her and he did it literally, lol! These two! <3

Exactly ! I totally agree and think that's exactly why the writers chose that as a comparison :)

And he celebrates an anniversary now. Would that be remembering the preevening of their first meeting forced by Raj and Howard and Amy's mother, or the time when they went on their first arranged 'date' that Sheldon asked Amy out on that Penny took them to,  - or even the interrupted date with Dave when they made up ? I wonder what presents Amy gives Sheldon ?

I haven't seen this episode yet, but I can't wait to see how it plays out.

On the gift thing, Amy shouldn't be too upset, she did say "surprise me" and he did! Clearer next time girl!

Also, what this tells me is if she'd say something 'romantic', he would've bought something romantic... But she's smart, she'll figure it out.

I just love these two. I can't wait for the next episode, it sounds like fun! Of course, our friends the Lenny's aren't having the greatest time... I don't think we should flaunt our happiness over there in the Discussion thread.

Save it for home. =)

Hi, everyone! Loooooong-time shipper/lurker here. I've hemmed and hawed over joining this forum for a long time, but here I am! I see that the Shamy thread is indeed a happy place, as it should be since our babies have been so adorable!

Someone had noted recently how Sheldon has been sitting on both sides of the couch in 4B, and the more I think about it, the more I like that. Although he still has his spot in 4A in some capacity, the fact that he doesn't have a designated spot in 4B shows that he doesn't NEED one to feel secure there. Amy is his security now. She is his spot (I swear if he says this when he proposes my fangirling level will go through the roof!). I just think it screams how comfortable he is being there, and I love that. :icon_cheesygrin:

And welcome to forum! Hope you get around for we speak  to you about the show and about our adorable couple :)

He never had his spot even in Amy's old apartment, nor ever made a fuss about where to sit there as it happened for Penny's or Raj's apartment. I guess his spot with Amy is wherever she is..,

Welcome to the forum, I hope you have fun here!

Hello Anglophile79 and welcome to the forum! :bye:

That would be great if he said that to her. I would also love if he sat on the couch and when Amy passes by, he would grab her by the arm and pull her on his lap to cuddle or to propose to her.

Happy birthday @Jonny! Hope you have a great day!
