Sunday evening is my tbbt rerun  time on tv as I have told you. I have rewatched earlier "The Locomotive Manipulation". I don’t  know how many times I have watched this episode so far as it is one of my shamy favourites and it is incredible the sensation of butterflies on stomach it gives me everytime I see Sheldon kissing Amy on train. I wonder which shamy biggest moment might happen in next taping. Or in taping after. Or...

Can't help myself, one part of my brain is overloaded with possible shamy scenes before season ends. I know, lol!

Spidey, be cool! :icon_cheesygrin:

I know this was just perfect and totally unexpected! It will always be a special moment for me. Totally magic!

It was brilliant delivered by Jim and Mayim!

I know what you mean, I´ve already created a season 11 in my head and I`m currently doing a rerun of it. I´m currently at episode 11x18 "The Tepee Occurrence Renunciation". I guess I don´t have to say more as the title speaks for itself. :icon_cheesygrin:

So, I need a new episode ASAP otherwise I loose my wits. LOL

I´ve seen the new clip and boy Sheldon knows how to move his hips. :icon_redface:

Oh, I see, I was wondering too what "flu" might mean in different countries. Anyway, in that specific instance, if I remember correctly, "flu" was the right term for Jim, he had also fever, and all the jazz connected with what I usually mean with "flu"...

In UK 'flu' is short for influenza. It kills people in tens of thousands here every year, and puts even more in hospital in a bad year, despite vaccinations being widely available free of charge to vulnerable groups and essential personnel. It can lead to serious complications too, and bring about dangerous secondary infections. Anyone who's ever had it knows you can't get up and go to work with it. You can't even turn yourself over in bed at first. No way did Jim have what Mayim, a scientist, called 'full-blown flu' in the true sense of the word. That's what muddled me. In 1919 more people, especially the young and healthy, died from flu than fell in the whole of the 1914 - 1918 World War.

We have a nickname here for men with a cold who call it flu - 'man flu' because women just carry on. Many viruses produce aches and pains, fever, dizziness, headache, wobbly legs with coughing and sneezing. Jim could have had one of those, poor chap. Most of us if we had that would say we had a virus, or flu-like illness, although yes, it's known for some people, even women, :) to call a bad cold 'flu'. The fact that the sufferer was able to force herself or himself to  get up and speak about it would be a sign it wasn't flu. It doesn't mean these things are all trivial. Some can turn nasty and leave long-lasting effects. Doctors say they have a way of knowing if the sick person really has flu : the doctor puts the winning lottery ticket in the middle of the floor. If the patient can get out of bed and crawl towards it, the illness is not flu.Not even an actor who really had flu, however much 'the show must go on' was bred into him could really get up and onto the stage.

Anyway, we don't need to talk about these issues any more - we have a preview already up, a taping tomorrow, possibly some sneak peeks to come and an episode on Thursday. Hooray !  So,, we can get back to discussing more important life and death matters.

Good to get a promo, feels like an age since we last got one!

Sure does ! It's been over a fortnight. How are we going to get through the months from early  May to the first TR in late August ?

I'm sorry to be so pedantic: But a lot of this seems not quite accurate and somewhat hyperbolic. The seriousness of symptoms depends a lot on the individual person and the specific strain of Influenza they're infected with. As already said: There are plenty of mild cases where the infected person doesn't experience all symptoms or where the symptoms are not as severe and far from life threatening. Not every case is the Spanish Flu.

And there are proper tests to determine whether or not someone is infected with an influenza virus - doctor's humour is not a good diagnostic method.

Love it! The Shamy part is so funny! There is everything I like of S. 10 Shamy/Sheldon/Amy: sassy Amy who strikes back when Sheldon gets nasty, Sheldon's hips movement (which is quite suggestive, can't wait to see the whole thing...) and, more important, for some weird reason finding out that it's Sheldon who wrote the smily faces on the board makes me smily too! Oh...and I also love that WFT face Amy makes about the hips movement, she is in "scientist"-mode,  and when she's all business nothing can distract her...

Dont understand why Amy  being straight faced, focussed  and not being distracted by Sheldon and being in serious mode as you put it is a good thing  yet everyone likes it when  Sheldon is distracted and giggly and silly.

Well, I can only speak for myself. I like that because Amy is constantly accused of being a poor frustrated girl, obsessed by sex and bound to never get some (or to get some just once a year), so when she shows with her actions that's not the case, I'm  happy about it.

From Amy 's side , I share @mirs1 opinion about Amy and sex. About giggly Sheldon, after seeing him for years in serious mode , I am happy he can relax to the point he can smile and giggle about things he was used to not think  even about them.

It's an autoharp! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoharp

I love that they found a new instrument for Mayim to play!

These promo pics are ridiculously cute. <3

Also, omg that couch is so old and fugly. Someone please take it outside and burn that thing down. Or at least buy a neat cover so I don't have to see those stains from god knows what. Yikes.

Maybe Sheldon went to that bar to try and take his mind off of the two projects? Though that sounds a bit weird for him but why not?

I'm thinking that maybe the bar scene with the line dancing was a hallucination that Sheldon had.

Ooh the one with him in the blue dressing gown, standing by the kettle - he looks so vulnerable I want to pick him off the page and give him a cuddle.

Me too! Surely Amy cuddled him on bed that night!

Depends what's wrong with him. If it's something catching she wouldn't want to cuddle him. Now's the time to discover whether his behaviour when sick has improved, or whether she'll be suddenly called to a conference out of town.

Agree.  I dont know more than you all do,  course, but for the avaiable photos, Sheldon’s behavior as he got sick might have improved. And besides, Amy doesnt put up with his non sense anymore.

I'm getting the feeling that he is suffering from extreme exhaustion, rather than a contagious illness.

The summary provided also points towards him being overworked and exhausted so I think that might just be it.

As an aside: I'm delighted that the collaboration with Amy is part of the story (even though it's part of the reason that it causes him too much stress).

I wonder if they ultimately come to a conclusion to stop working together? Would be a shame but if he is struggling to work two major projects at the same time then I could totally see Amy putting her boyfriend's health above their project and rightly so if it is making him ill.
