wowbagger Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Okay, I've only seen a few clips, so I might come in here to babble excitedly some more at a later date, but: Ahem. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (draws breath) EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, that was embarrassing. How about we try for actual words now? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, maybe third time's the charm. You guys have basically hit off all the things I loved about this episode. How effortlessly in sync they are, how casually loving, that tag scene that seriously gives me life, with its echoes of Herb Garden and Cohabitation Experimentation mixed in with the knowing warm sexiness of the 'Thanks, babe' and Sheldon looming over his little lady after dealing and receiving sick burns. So I'll single out one line: 'We're on the same team, but we are in competition'. Because I really think it encapsulates everything that I fell in love with about this couple in the beginning, and everything that this season has nailed about them. They're on the same team, but they're their own people. They're massive show-offs, but in each other they've found the one audience member who completely gets them. And this episode, like many of this show's best, also kinda gets out of its own way and lets you rediscover the couple. Like with Veracity Elasticity, where the tag scene let you enjoy how completely right these two are for each other, without needing to spell it out for you. Happy sigh. I've slagged off the back half of this season before, and I think we can all admit there's been duff spots, but damn, this episode was delightful. littleknee Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 I watched Thursday night’s episode and just loved it so freaking much, so I wanted to weigh in. One of my all time favorites for all the reasons folks have already shared. I love the comfort level and intellectual sparring between these 2. I love how much they challenge each other and how much they are enticed by the mutual challenge. It’s been such a great theme of this season, and I hope it’s what leads to a breaking of the birthday rule. That’s actually the Shamy season finale that I would most like to see because I think it would wrap up a season-long arc. I also find Sheldon’s hip-swiveling walk telling. Not only is it clear that he sees Amy as sexy, but the way he imitated her walking to the bedroom suggestively indicates to me that he’d like to follow A few little tidbits that I loved the most … I absolutely love that it was both of them, not just Sheldon, that felt ground rules were necessary to a successful collaboration. Also I love that they threw those rules out the window (literally and figuratively) and then made new rules to govern the breaking of the original rules. It also eased any reservations I had about their mutual snark. There are guidelines to follow so that no one crosses a line. (like safe words … ha!) The fact that they started off strong, hit a wall of unproductivity, fumbled for a while, fought a bit, and then figured out a way forward where they were challenging each other but in synch was a nice metaphor for their whole relationship. I also loved in the car when Sheldon realized he had a genuine interest in Amy’s work. It’s great that he took an interest, not because he had learned some social rule of feigning excitement in your significant other’s job, but because she genuinely “tickled his intellectual fancy.” I also feel like respect for what Amy does is a key to them having a strong relationship because it’s such an integral part of who she is. A little thing I liked was that the writers made the nose whistling sound Sheldon instead of Amy. I’m not a fan of the frumpy gross Amy trope, so it was refreshing to have them turn that joke on its head. They’ve been much better about it this season! My favorite part of the episode was the tag. The “babe,” and Amy’s smile, was awesome. And that look Sheldon gave Amy at the end was the sexiest I’ve ever seen Sheldon. The way he lurches over her and squints his eyes at her before he takes a sip of his tea … The way he looks at her in general this season is just different, as is the way she has let her guard down with him. There were a few fumbled episodes in the last half of this season, but this was not one of them.
Anita Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 After rewatching the ep one of my favorite things was sheldon understanding the risks for their relationship, on his own. After reading the TR I was afraid It was sheldon taking the snarkiness to the limit and amy explaining him, in a not so caring and loving way the effects it could have in their personal relationship. Just the fact that he acknowledged the option to stop the collaboration for the sake of the relationship shows how much he has grown up. Differences aside it reminded me The Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem

I'd like after tags like this that something powerful physically happened between them as Amy surely is not indifferent to Sheldon when he does like that. I also like to think that the possibility of these two have broken the once year thing mean while and we have not found yet might be on table. A girl can dream when the once in a year thing is not believable as a wish of Sheldon and Amy but more as a writers's thing, lol! mirs1 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 I just really love that Shamy are so quirky and get each other so deeply, that even things that are commonly considered rude insults, for them don't have the usual meaning, but may be used to challenge each other on an intellectual level or as flirting. I've read many reviews of the episode and many of them complain about Shamy's attitude while working together, because they were too nasty and for once they seemed to not enjoy being together. For me that was not the case at all, during the episode they fully enjoyed every second of their collaboration, for them words have a different meaning from the rest of the world, at least in that context, where there was a complete balance between the two of them and they were working as a team, but following their own rules. The tag fully shows all of that: Sheldon was openly flirting using insults and Amy was so proud and giddy he liked her rule (since I guess it was her idea) about calling one "stupid" when they say stupid things. That takes flirting to a whole new level!

The once a year thing was not believable a long time ago, and after watching Season 10, even the casual audiences are not buying anymore. And they are wondering what the hell the writers are thinking. Believe me, I know this for a fact. 22 minutes ago, mirs1 said: I just really love that Shamy are so quirky and get each other so deeply, that even things that are commonly considered rude insults, for them don't have the usual meaning, but may be used to challenge each other on an intellectual level or as flirting. I noticed on some music APP, the reviews about the song "Happy Together", people were saying that the Shamy in the newest episode of TBBT were so sweet and totally in sync. So, to each their own, I guess. Edited April 1, 2017 by snapepans add something

Sheldon and Amy held a bliss face for all experience and when they were being nasty to each other was imo for the sake of challenging each other, like "I love teasing you" intention which they figured out it was helpfull for their cognitive skills in sake of their collaboration . They played together with a white board pen as they showed a happy face and touched each other, like "I cant take my hands from you as you are so precious to me." For who watch tbbt paying attention to all details, shamy relationship is undeniable stronger and bonded than ever. That takes flirting to a whole new level! Absolutely! Lets not forget that before the insults they were playfully screwing around and enjoying each other's company--turning equations into smiley faces, tossing candy into each other's mouths, etc--"So Happy Together". They realized all that goofing around produced white boards of crap. Once they stumbled on to the productive value of their mutual insult banter they realized they could actually get things done! the tag was awesome, and I wouldve never guessed Amy's responsibility for the "stupid questions" rule lol--Sheldon looked kind of proud of her as if she joined the dark side with him. Perfect!
Jedichic98 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Absolutely loved this episode! From Sheldon's hip wiggle, to the shots fired at each other. (Sheldon looked ready to take her in that tag) I think this was a perfect example in balancing the newer couple dynamic, but also the older, friend/intellectual sparring partner dynamic. With the gyroscope and now this new project, there is definitely a stronger science theme here than in some previous seasons. (which makes it infuriating that when there's even a bit of a relationship theme, "the show is dead its never about science anymore") Also today I just re-watched the scene from the emotion detector when Amy comforts Sheldon, and some people in the comments were all "Amy is so annoying to watch" Yes, how dare she support the man she loves in emotional need! What is wrong with her?! (I really should stop reading youtube comments) This season has had a few duds (and judging by recent TRs more not-as-strong episodes are coming) but episodes like the one this week have been really strong. At least from a Shamy and humor standpoint. I'm happy. and I really needed this after the week of school I've had.
Judith Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 I think it was @anicez on tumblr who commented on Shamy's clothes in the tags of Comic Con and Collaboration. Both times Sheldon is wearing a purple-yellow t-shirt combo and Amy's wearing that red vest. Do you guys think this could be significant in any way? According the the t-shirt colour theory the purple stands for love and the yellow for fear so... Sheldon sure wears a lot of purple combined with other colours recently for probably pretty obvious reasons. The yellow though? I have no idea. Maybe they use it for a general feeling of anxiety and tension?? Being "anxious" also has a positive connotation which would certainly fit those scenes. But Idk if that isn't overthinking the whole thing. lol

He took some cold medicines that knocked him down and as a result he didn't remember anything that happened to him the day before. He even ended up in a Country bar and danced with the other patrons there. There are not many details about the episode, I guess there are not many Shamy scenes, but the ones that are there seem nice, at least judging from the promo pics. We should be watching Shamy woking together (in the same day Sheldon goes back and forth between his two work projects), Amy taking care of sick Sheldon (she sings Soft Kitty to him, not my favourite thing ever, but it looks weird enough, since she sings it in German and Mandarine too) and above all, there's a pic of the two of them having breakfast together in their robe. That was one of the biggest wishes our fandom has had even before they started living together, happy that the writers, as they seem to be doing this season, have listened to us, LOL! So, not a monumental Shamy episode per se, but I guess, all in all, we can't complain. As an aside, from the promo of the next episode, when everybody at the bar yells "Sheldon !" it reminded me of How I Met Your Mother, when everyone yells "Swarley !" when Barney walks into the bar LOL ! I think they are going for the Cheers reference(I have not really watched cheers but i think i know that reference)
