No news?

I heard jim parsons say they were shooting video games scene today. COULD mean girls and boys night...he also added he does not play video games himself. Shooting the scenes can be challenging , because he must pretend to play at such a high level and fake the movements so much that he is not so familiar with.

Oh man my brains in overdrive after some great BTS pics with lots of the cast !! I wonder if as you guys are saying it's maybe a girls/boys plot ( I think some said our captain mentioned video games ?) with obviously some lovely Lenny ( great news for the Lennies , it's been a while coming ) and then of course we know we have a bed scene for Shamy so that's exciting :) !!
Are we on a break now for a couple of weeks I keep losing track lol - is the next tape the 18th ?

After the spoilers Martin gave us, I think it won't be a classical boys/girls episode, but there will be a couple of scenes with the girls and the boys apart, probably the girls at the bar and the boys at the Comics Book store and then home playing video-games, as the old good times LOL!, speaking about Zach's job offer to Penny. Probably Penny asks the girls for advise to and Leonard does the same with the guys. Very curious to know more details, though.

As for us...BED SCENE!!!! that is always exciting, I can't wait for it! And, yes, now there's a little hiatus and then the last two episodes will be taped. TBH, I had low expectations for today episode, I half expected little Shamy in it. It will be far more difficult to keep my expectation low when they tape 10.23 and, if nothing happens in that episode, 10.24. I'm getting nervous for the season finale, Shamy engagement is still up in the air and, you know, after 8.24, the word cliffhanger scares the crap out of me!

I got so damaged as shipper when shamy broke up at s8e24 that I dont put any chance in my mind of happening something as serious as it was to them in s10 finale. And the worst was I suffered in silence as I didn't have this thread for sharing my thoughts at that time!!

Totally sync with @Jonny about shamy proposal. E23 maybe the episode for that happening. Then drama free for them as imo the drama this time might affect other characters. I believe shamy breaking up was dramatic enough for them that they deserve now all peace of mind for enjoy their hapiness as couple.

OMG !! I'm totally on board with the proposal 10.23 & them in the background of finale !!!
I'm telling you the drama of 8.24 traumatised me !!!!! BUT I do think / hope it can't surely be Shamy's turn for a cliffhanger that would upset us, as we had drama and upset in season 7 & 8 finale ! And boy was season 8 finale awful ! Although drama they have to help/deal with I could get, for example drama involving one of the other couples or an individual or say Meemaw takes ill...... something that doesn't threaten them being together but does mean drama that they will get through as a team, am I making sense or just going on and on lol !! Boy does season end make me jittery - what did they do to us with 8.24 !!!!!

I don't know about an engagement at this point...Maybe 10.24 but who knows?

Also it's exciting to not be spoiled about Shamy when we know there'll be a bed scene. We weren't spoiled about the hallway scene either and that was such a great surprise. It's just the suffering in between :icon_cheesygrin:

Next week is Passover so I guess this is why they won't be taping, at least this year (I weren't in the forum in previous years) they didn't tape in any if the jewish holidays, which makes sense because there are a lot of jewish people in this production.

If there will be a cliffhanger involving their relationship, maybe it will be Amy wondering why he hasn't proposed yet and Sheldon planning a proposal with the help of the guys/the gang/Lenny/Leonard? A little like Monica and Chandler in Friends. I would prefer no drama for them but if there will be some I prefer something that could be easily fixed in the season opener.

They have taped on Jewish holidays before and Mayim has usually pre-taped her scenes(episode 23 of season 7: Gorilla Dissolution, comes to mind). She was in the opening scene only. And it really is only the first night of the holiday that matters the most for some of them. She can tape during, she just usually doesn't on the first nights. Not that it really matters but it is lucky that they have off on Passover this year for sure so maybe we can get that proposal in episode 23. Although I must say I don't expect a proposal at all at this point since they seem to be in a great place.

I think there won't be any drama with them or hopefully anyone. I would much prefer an ending like last season where the only drama was the parents and honestly who cared.

In the past years there have been tapings on Passover. TPTB try to accommodate Mayim and the other observant jews in the cast and crew, but scheduling a taping involves so many factors that they can't always do that. With Mayim, they try to give her a "light" episode during high Holidays, but it isn't always the case.  For example most of the episodes in the LA-arc were taped last fall during high Jewish festivities, and Mayim had to be there. Last year, instead, in 9.7, which was also taped during a Jewish holiday, she only pre-taped a 10-seconds scene.

I'm saying that for a while, now. A "happy" cliffhanger for Shamy would be that we know Sheldon is on the verge to propose and we wait the whole summer to actually watch how he does that.

Am I out of step with the parade to think it's odd that we [includes myself] all think that Sheldon proposing is the only option here?

What century are we in?

I would have nothing against Amy proposing herself, except that she already knows Sheldon has a ring and he is contemplating marriage. If she proposes now, it's like pushing him for something he is obviously not  ready for (otherwise he would have already done that).

If she actually made the proposal I would be fine with that.

With her already knowing about the ring therefore Sheldon possibly having thoughts about popping the question it makes more sense that Sheldon does it. Plus she strikes me as a person that would want some old school traditional romantic proposal involving Sheldon going down on one knee and asking her.

Longer it drags out the more likely she might propose imo.

I agree, him having the ring makes it more likely she is waiting. I just hope they don't drag it out for two more seasons. It makes no sense to me. Plus he knows she wants to marry him. I don't know how much more she could have said in the last episode when she said, when I was younger I wanted to marry the gorilla in Goodnight Gorilla. She basically said, that is what I wanted then, now I want you, but sometimes I wonder why.

He needs to ask her soon.

My fear is if they drag it out much longer then the writers won't be able to resist having an episode of drama when she gets fed up of waiting and brings it up with Sheldon. I don't think any of us want that, we want a smooth eventual proposal.

If Amy deserves a proposal, Sheldon also deserves a right to not being ready to propose. If he has his own reasons, they need to be respected. . Im okay if they have an honest discussion,  and Amy is shown to be actually understanding of what his reasons/issues for hesitating are.

They have been having so many meaningful pillow talks and getting better at communication ......so why not.

I think the problem is that we don't really know what's going on in his head regarding marriage. We can speculate about the reasons but so far we haven't gotten a concrete answer. Heck, we don't even know if he is actually "not ready" - maybe he just waits for a certain date or simply forgot about it while he's blissfully living with Amy now?? Time flies when you're having fun and marriage is not necessarily a pressing matter in this day and age.

So yeah, getting a peek behind the curtain here would be nice.

Not sure I trust the writers on this issue to bring it up that way. I think it would be drama based, but that's just a guess about a scenario that may or may not happen. Every character has a drama quota to fill, I think a story like that could be used to fill it.

I would rather see it happen in one of these next two tapings with both clearly ready.

No...are you suggesting Amy propose or them getting married is not really needed these days?  I agree both of those reasons. That would be great if Amy proposed. If no marriage is needed for them to be happy this is great also. They seem to be flourishing without a certificate. This said  I think Amy would be disappointed with not getting married at least at some point. Interesting to think about how Sheldon would react in that situation...

I think it was made pretty clear in the episode earlier this season that Amy has a desire to get married. Like others have said they act like they are married anyway but Amy clearly wants it to happen. I think unless she says otherwise or that priorities have changed you have to assume that is what she wants.

As @mirs1 pointed out: They don't always work around the Jewish holidays. I remember last year were a couple of important Jewish holidays with working restrictions for three taping nights in a row and we were all speculating how they'll reduce Amy's role in the episodes and then the LA arc happened and they powered through it with full force - all of them Shamy heavy episodes where Mayim had a lot to do.

They won't be taping next week simply because they usually tape two weeks in a row, then pause for one week, then the next two tapings, then another pause etc etc. Sometimes you get a third taping wedged into the schedule somewhere or one taping is singled out, but that's about it.

My best guess (which is a very bad guess) is that the finale won't have a lot to do with Shamy. The showrunners have two more seasons and plenty of mileage to get out of that proposal, if it were to happen. And I am on record as being one of the nutters who would be perfectly happy if the Shamy were to just get married offscreen in between flag conventions, partnered harpsichord singalongs and their new scientific breakthrough. That said, the show's actually been really good about Shamy's milestones, so I'm sure the proposal itself will be charming and I'll enjoy it a lot. Can't answer for the buildup or aftermath, though....

Well, for all we know the first half of S11 will be Shamy galore with its stories like it's been during the past two years and the proposal would fit into that nicely. But dear loard, I hope it's not "Sheldon proposes on Amy's birthday" or something... ughhhh
