wow... that's a lot to process. I feel good about some of the stuff I read, but I'm concerned about Amy leaving for the whole summer. The coitus thing is good though... I have strongly mixed feelings.

Is it me or it looks like Amy is younger and thinner? Also, I think this vest really suits her.

Mayim in RL has lost some weight and I suspect the costumes department had to buy Amy a new wardrobe for that. Storywise that was explained with her dresses being damaged during the flood at her old apartment. They have choose something a bit fancier, it's still Amy's style, of course, but somehow more fitting and with less clashing colours. There are some missteps along the way, like her beige cardigans, but I think when there are cute Shamy scenes she is dressed better than she used to in previous seasons.

Sure, if she doesn't sign a new deal then i guess they could use this Princeton storyline as a way to write her out.

I haven't seen the episode, but from what I've read about it, it sounds very much like a fanfic I read (apologies to the author for forgetting who wrote it), where Amy is offered a job in France (iirc Paris), and Sheldon tells her it's a fantastic opportunity, which she can't/mustn't pass up.

Just as she's about to board the aeroplane, Sheldon (at Penny's urging) goes after her, and catches her just as she's about to board the flight.

ETA: I love the way Amy dresses. It's so "I'll dress how I want, and to hell with fashion and societal opinions."

"What happened to Penny's couch?"

"It fell out of the window. Accidentally. And then a truck drove over it. And then it exploded."

We did that with a coffee machine at an office where I worked.  We even photographed the unfortunate event for our boss, who was out of town when the tragedy occurred.

He doesn't fit on the couch.  He doesn't fit in the bed.

The most wanted shamy shopping household itens wishlist  imo : a couch and a bed. Hope seasons 11 and 12 could bring them for our couple. Sheldon  deserve a big bed after 10 years sleeping on short ones!

Couch talk! Much prefer that over finale fears and the return of the maniac lol.

Aesthetically I don't like the look of it, it's just not very them. Also from a functionality and comfort level point of view it doesn't look comfortable, especially for Sheldon who is way too tall and now 'buff' as the female audience tell me including my sister lol.

Maybe if they won't get rid of the shape or the frame they could get it reupholstered?

It would be better to just get a new couch. Or better yet, drag Amy's living room furniture out of storage and bring it to there.

DNA of the show Kathy, DNA of the show lol

Last interview I saw said they wouldn't really be making any major further changes (would the couch come under that?). I would guess it is seen as a pretty iconic piece of furniture and had its moments on the show though not as much as the couch in 4A clearly.

I guess they have laid the groundwork to replace it, Sheldon did say he didn't like it and yet he still sits on it and hasn't mentioned it since lol.

They gotta get rid of that god aweful chair too.  Looks like all the colors got together, had a party and threw up all over a weirdly shaped white chair.

Well said. The 'Show DNA' is like their go to excuse lol. I kind of understood when they said that for the living changes, but for some decorations? That excuse won't fly with me lol.

I think decorating a place and adjusting it to your tastes makes it even more feel like your home and it's like a natural thing to do (kind of weird and unrealistic if you don't right?). With all that stuff still around it can at times feel like just renting it off a friend lol. They have done a good job with placing both Sheldon and Amy's belongings around the place and the bedroom looks more to their taste (would look even better with a new bed/headboard IMO).

I would get rid of the couch (maybe it could go in a gaming room in 4A should they actually do it?), some of the other furniture, new lick of paint here and there as well.

Cannot wait for info from Tuesday's final season 10 taping. This speculation is killing me. Lol. Hoping and praying for no drama. Reading some of your posts makes me feel better but I keep having these sneaky little doubts!  Hurry up Tuesday.

On on another note I can't believe we are at the end of season 10. Two more seasons! :) And only two more seasons  :(

Are we absolutely sure, that there's only two more seasons?

I would say it's very likely, but who knows. Maybe ratings hold up well (compared to their rivals, or that other CBS shows flop and so they still want to keep this one going) and they are tempted to do one more final season. Something to not really think about I guess until Season 12, we will find out during that season if this is the end or not.

Yeah they'd need a ratings miracle to go beyond S12 cause with the current developments of ratings drops across the board there won't be much left to justify the production costs.

YES PLEASE GET RID OF THAT COUCH! Good Lord. Look, I understand iconic sets and all, but it's no longer Penny's apartment. The furniture needs to fit the current tenants, and that couch and flowery cushions and clashes of color is just not Shamy. I agree that at the very least they could get rid of the cushions. I mean, it's ridiculous that they think that people will quit watching the show because that couch is gone. It's not like it's Sheldon's spot, ffs. The bed is fine. It's small, yes, but you don't really notice it much.

Have the ratings dropped? I haven't really been paying attention. I'm not surprised though. 10 years is a long long time for a show to keep up those ratings. People tend to move on, sooner or later. If they can keep up writing Shamy like they have this season, I'll happily watch another couple of seasons. But, as much as I'll miss it, better wrapping it up while it's still doing well than getting cancelled.

Add my name to the list of those wanting to see the back of that couch! Every time I see Sheldon sitting on it all I can think is " you poor thing..you look so uncomfortable!! "

Sometimes he struggles to get off it too. I always wonder if that's the direction for the part or if Jim has a bad back.

Have you seen the IG videos of Jim pulling the weight sled, there's nothing wrong with his back.

I think it is because the couch is so low to the ground and has such a short back, that it can make it difficult for someone as tall as Jim to gracefully get up.

Yep, I have seen Jim pulling that sled. 1,001 times. Nope. Nothing wrong with that back. Or legs, or butt, or arms or...

 :girlsigh:

Hey I am not sure if this is the correct place to mention this. Any of you fan fiction writers want to write about Shamy and the summer. It could include many of the fantastic ideas from above/previous pages. I will need some summer Shamy...just a thought. I would totally read it.

Story time!

Back in season 7 (back in my non-spoiled days) I saw the 7x15 kiss—and again, I wasn't spoiled so I didn't see it coming. My reaction was that of someone having some sort of breakdown I was so happy. Directly after the episode the promo for 7x16 came up. where the announcer said Shamy might be ending and very conveniently left out everything about the table. I spent that entire week panicked that something might happen, and angry at the writers for throwing a wrench in after something that good happens. The actual episode comes around and I realize it was nothing.

What little information we have about the finale, points to the same thing happening. It's the end of 10x23 you (the viewer) are feeling good the once a year joke is over (no one will miss it) and the promo for the finale "Next Thursday! With Amy away, does Sheldon's former flame come back to play?" or some other bull crap comes on. You're confused and angry at the writers for messing up Shamy after something that good happens so of course you have to watch the finale. Just to see how it all plays out.

I'm taking TV workshop this semester and one of things we learned is how to make elevator pitches and synopses for episodes with the job to give a basic outline to interest the viewer. To get you to watch, and that's it.

I remind myself of  the 7x16 scare whenever I see ambiguous information like the one we have. Just got to keep reminding ourselves the only goal the people have behind TBBT have on their minds right now, is to ensure people will tune in. Speculation is harmless of course, but just remember this little story.

Back to your couch talk. (I hate that thing too)

The ratings for nearly everything on television have dropped, so, TBBT still leads in its category. Even the NFL has had significant ratings declines.

And, at this point, TBBT is also competing with itself in that it is syndicated in nearly all major markets.  I get an hour at ten o'clock every night and two hours on Sunday nights 8-10.

And I've pushed a car.  While he does well pulling/pushing a weight sled, I see folks doing it regularly at my gym.  It's not as tough as doing free weights and difficulty is also a function of what kind of surface the sled is on.

This Ramona thing is just really weird to me. I agree with that shipper (sorry, forgot who) who said that having Sheldon cheat on Amy would be ruining his character. I also don't think he's gonna cheat on Amy with Ramona. But if the writers make it seem that way... it's gonna be one hell of a summer break!

I'm trying to be positive, but I have this bugging feeling that just won't go away. They certainly won't ruin our favorite couple, right? I read the part where they have coitus, but that even cheer me up cos the stupid feeling is just too urgh... I can't be the only one.

I, too, would like to join the New Couch For Shamy Club! And yes, if Amy's furniture is in storage, it makes zero sense for her to pay a storage fee every month when they could just move it into 4B. If Penny still wants to keep her furniture, then she needs to put that in storage herself. However, was there any mention in 10.04 that her furniture had been damaged from the flooding? I can't remember, but if not then it really doesn't make sense. This is something that bugs me on tv sometimes. Why would you not want all your stuff with you? Anyway, regardless of the state of Amy's furniture, they should pick out something together that suits both of them.

And in regards to 10.23, a new thing I've gotten curious about is what Amy's reaction is to Sheldon's "don't fall in love with any scientists" line. Does she roll her eyes because it sounds so ridiculous? Does she actually tell him that's ridiculous? Or maybe just says, "I won't" with a reassuring little peck? It's all got me very speculative!
