[Spoilers] Shamy: Season 10

It's still hard for me to imagine Ramona aggressively pursuing Sheldon for romance after the way her story went years ago. Aggressively pursuing him for help on something she's working on would make so much more sense.

ah nuts. I don't think anything is going to happen, but I maintain - what a disappointing screwing over of the entertainingly ambitious Ramona. Poopie. Ah well, I suppose the showrunners used up their I Can Feminist cred with their surprisingly thoughtful and nuanced depiction of bernie's pregnancy and parenthood for howardette so far...

I'm still holding out hope that she's "aggressively pursuing" him for science.

To be fair we don't know how or why she's pursuing him, yet. After all Molaro calls Ramona "brilliant" and evokes a comparison to a competitive athlete. So while there's certainly an association with romance in the setup it could just still be her being after some scientific goal. After all that was the twist last time.

Honest question... why would Sheldon not be smart enough to realize Ramona is pursuing him for science? Sheldon has a list of his enemies and holds major grudges. When she suggested they share credit in S2, he told her to get out and we never saw her again. Amy is going to leave, she's going to return, and he's going to be blissfully unaware that she's pursuing him for science? That's what he remembers about her and what he would be suspicious of. In fact, I feel that would be a huge inconsistency to Sheldon's character. If anything, he would be allowing her to work with him despite her former blunder.

On the other hand, Ramona did say he was cute in S2. It may have been driven by science, but she had a crush.

That really depends on her exact goals and method to aquire them. Last time she wanted credit, this time it could be something else.  Last time she brute-forced her way into Sheldon's life in the name of science and ended up isolating him socially. This time her approach could be more subtle. If she gives Sheldon the idea that her crazy days are over and is now just a colleague who needs his advice / help / whatever I can see him not picking up on any manipulation.

TBH, I associate "oblivious" Sheldon mostly to sexual things. So I think Ramona will try the card of the colleague who seek help/collaboration on a project but will indeed hit on him. I can see Sheldon being really clueless and unconsciously encouraging her (in a totally innocent way, obviously) until the truth comes out because she makes a more aggressive move. Maybe that's the moment when Amy comes back for a brief visit. I just hope whatever misunderstanding we have is solved right away, that would be the dumbest cliffhanger ever!

What we know so far.... Sheldon being clueless, the gang being concerned & Ramona in hot pursuit.....while I hate the thought of this storyline - it has the potential to be over in one episode , also hopefully fueling Sheldon's realisation that Amy truely is the only one for him, I really want her to come back and defend her relationship to Ramona & kick her ass or have Sheldon take off to his vixen..... I wonder what the other plot will be in the finale ? Surely the Ramona one isn't going to dominate the whole episode ?

Right. I think it's obvious that she'll be in pursuit of science no matter how this all plays out, but how she's going to convince him to trust her and how he's going to stay oblivious is the road block I have. Molaro hinted that she was going to be aggressively pursuing what she wants. If what she wants is science related, I don't think it would take long for Sheldon to notice and tell her to get out again. If it's romance, we know he isn't going to notice because he isn't going to care. That is the important part.

I also don't think his friends are going to notice that Ramona is using him for science and worry about it, so at the very least, they are going to misunderstand her motives and assume she's a threat to Amy. That brings us back to the cheating storyline. It's my belief that this will be an underlining issue no matter how they get there or what the outcome will be.

In the shamy's pre break up relationship i could see ramona threating the relationship, not in a romantic way, but convicing sheldon the romantic distraction are getting him away from the nobel prize. Sheldon breaking up with amy with his head filled of lies it could have been plausible in the past, he tried over a table. But now, post break up sheldon knows what he risks losing, so she can manipulate him, for whatever reason she has,  using science, he may be oblivius, unaware, but I think that in the second he realizes what is happening, by himself or with  help, he is going to react

Well my hope still lives on all that non sense  Ramona flirting with clueless  Sheldon potencial storyline be fixed by the end of the 10.24. Another cliffanger for shamy from same cruelity level like s8 would be too much after a shamy season like this. Also it would be such another mean season finale gift from writers to us. Suddenly wednesday morning might be not so exciting as I was thinking in first hand it would be. I am sorry I am not contributing with anything useful but I really dont know what I should think until all true came out.

Tbh I'm not thrilled about the idea that Amy comes home for a visit just to witness some questionable situation between Sheldon and Ramona. Why get her out of town just to have her back immediately??? That doesn't make much sense to me. I rather have Sheldon flee to Princeton once Ramona's pursuit becomes too aggressive.

It would be "cruel" for us to spend the hiatus waiting to see what happens, but pretty sure it's the kind of things that get resolved within the first 5 minutes in the season premiere and swept under the rug.

Sheldon realized Ramona intentions by himself and flee to Princeton  to see Amy would be the best option indeed. Maybe this is part of the conclusion of the storyline, if it conclued in one single episode.

Me too, but if the writers are going for an easy TV trope, that's exactly what will happens...

Yeah but those 5 minutes would take a few months of anxiety. Hope really as I have said the storyline lasts for one single episode.

Defiantly this would be my preferred outcome as well, plus I think the most fitting with the story the writers have created for these two all season , they are each other's one & only !
If they want to do this & have drama I could see Amy misunderstanding what's gone on or being mislead by the gang or Ramona herself & Sheldon dropping everything & going to Amy to ensure she knows the truth, cliffhanger could be him leaving ( but only we know it's to go to Amy ) & Amy heartbroken thinking he's not missing her but instead enjoying Ramona's company, but we the audience know the truth & that he's headed to Amy....possibly with the ring - leaving a big pull for season 11 ??

Back in Season two, the Ramona he kicked out was a overly-controlling  wide-eyed grad student.  I don't think Sheldon ending up holding a grudge against her, he simply dismissed her from his life.

Current day Ramona, as described to us, is a brilliant PhD, a peer.  I think that she could easily weasel her back into Sheldon's world by apologizing for her earlier behavior, explaining how much she has grown up, sharing her work with him, while flattering him about his own.  Not a lot of people around Sheldon flatter him, with Amy gone, he would probably eat it up.

I agree. A person walking in just at the most inopportune moment is another of my lesser favorite sit-com/soap opera tropes. Not that it doesn't occasionally happen in real life, but it usually feels manufactured. I bit my tongue during the Sheldon walks in just while Amy is kissing/about to kiss Dave (twice), but I don't fancy a revisit of that scenario in reverse, even if it is just a misunderstanding. I'm hoping they don't go that route though. I wouldn't mind Sheldon ending up at Princeton.

I'm not sure I want the ring to come up in the middle of whatever misunderstanding Ramona is up to. It would imply that Sheldon needs to be on the verge of "loosing" Amy to make a big gesture. That perhaps might have been true in the past (and to me it didn't ring 100% true even then) but now it's not the case for sure...

I have a feeling none of us are going to correctly guess how this episode will end. Maybe Amy comes home because she has a surprise for Sheldon and when she sees Ramona and what the other's are worried about, she surprises all of us by knowing and trusting Sheldon, shrugging it off. Maybe she knows Sheldon isn't behind it and they both tell her to get out.

I always saw this Ramona threat as distraction from the real cliffhanger but nobody likes the idea of a pregnancy or a scare and nobody believes an engagement will take place. My friend suggested that we'll see a replay of the S8 finale with Shamy on Skype as the tag scene, but this time, he pulls out the ring and proposes. I mean... anything can happen. I just don't think the cliffhanger will consist of us being pissed because Sheldon may have cheated.

Molaro is hinting trouble for  both couples, a posible break up for lenny and the ramona thing for shamy. One of them has to be resolved and the other has to be the cliffhanger

So....a woman who Sheldon hasn't seen in 8 years, who he ordered out of his apartment the last time he saw her,  suddenly shows up to aggressively pursue him while his girlfriend of 7 years is conveniently away at Princeton!!....Good grief!!

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh here but I hope it plays out better than it sounds!!

I know Skype has played a big part in their lives, but I don't think they would have a proposal that way. I would rather see a face to face one.

BUT let's go with your idea for a second. I think a better way would be perhaps for Sheldon to have snuck something in her luggage or left a gift with the ring inside it. They obviously have a conversation on skype, he mentions the gift or item he snuck in. She opens it, sees the ring and then he says something beautiful and romantic and asks her to marry him. That way she would have the ring with her whilst she is away.

But like I said I would much prefer something face to face. I am thinking Season 11 it happens, no clue exactly when.

Season 8 he pulls the ring out and asks "Well, Gollum, you’re an expert on rings. What do I do with this one?"

Season 10 he pulls the ring out and runs out the door.
