TBH, I'm really surprised about this proposal, with the Ramona spoiler, I totally didn't see it coming.

But, I have to admit, the proposal gave me a "Sheldon proposed out of his insecurity about their relationship" vibe.

As in: after he understood Ramona's intention, he was worried that someone might do the same thing with Amy, so he needed to seal the deal.

So, now I think there will be 3 possible scenarios:

1. Amy says yes. 

2. After learning what happened with Ramona, Amy pisses off and says no.

3. After learning what happened with Ramona, Amy calms Sheldon down, and talks to him(like Monica did on Friends).

Personally, I prefer the 3rd one. But I think the writers will go with the 1st one.

So, what do you think?

PS: If you think I'm raining on your parade, I'm really sorry. This is not my intention. I just want to discuss this episode and speculate the next one.

No worries from here, I also would prefer Ramona was not involved in someway as she did  as catslyst for proposal. However I am glad Sheldon behaved as he usually does as he had not any intention about Ramona as he now is a sexually active man. He only wants Amy and ever will. He realized with a litle help from Penny that what was lacking from him was kind of showing he is commmited to Amy, he only need to make it official. I dont see any guilt from Sheldon as he was well aware he was not doing anything wrong but he got  it was about time to lose any fear or hesitation and make Amy his fiancée for real. 

Btw, I love to discuss diferent pov. If we all agree with each others, what would be the purpose of discuss?

I agree, it's either be yes right away or they talk it out first and then she accepts.

But Amy being mad at Sheldon or Sheldon proposing because he feels guilty doesn't really fit when the episode went to such lengths establishing that it really isn't Sheldon's fault. The only thing he's guilty of is maybe that he was too naive thinking Ramona would respect his relationship with Amy like any normal person would in that situation. But the moment he realised that something was fishy he clearly told her he had no interest and noped straight out of there when things started to get out of hand. I'm sure Amy would understand.

From reading the spoilers I think Sheldon taking off right away to run to Amy is first and foremost because she's been on his mind the whole time. Amy is his save space. He's missing her terribly and apparently can't shut up about her. And if he's really going straight to the airport without going back home it means he was carrying the ring with him anyway so it doesn't seem like it's completely out of the blue that he'd rush to her to propose. He might have been on the verge to do exactly that once she left and the Ramona situation was just the final straw.

I think you are right she either says yes right away or they talk it out. I can't see her saying flat out no.

She has clearly been on his mind, they have a couple of skype scenes where they say they keep missing each other? Penny asks if he is talking to Amy and he says every morning and every evening I believe on skype? Ramona herself backs it up, that he talks about Amy all the time lol.

So yes that would also explain his reaction.

if that's the case, not the worst idea ever. I mean, the joke is funny, but I was not a fan of that "Don't fall in love for another scientist" sentiment...

Having never been really waiting for a proposal, I'm not that bothered by how it came about. I do understand that the way the catalyst has been set up was a bit random and perhaps not quite what people had in mind and parts of the episode do sound pretty cliche'. But it could very well be that the premiere will have them talk things through, explain Sheldon's mindset and that will make up for it. As in, I'm sure it's been on both their minds for a long time now and maybe it's more that the proposal is the catalyst for that life-long commitment talk than the other way around. Plus, flying across the country on the spot just to propose is a pretty big gesture regardless. 

I do find the fact that they skype twice a day and Sheldon talks about her all the time to be incredibly sweet.

I'm kind of torn, originally wanted something grander but Shamyesque but if this is the way they do it then so be it I just want to see them engaged now as they seem very ready to me to take that next step.

Maybe they can throw an engagement party in 4B down the line lol? They can use their successful brunch as an encouragement to hold one for family and friends? Maybe Amy's family shows up? Her mother?

Agree! Sheldon would not need to say that imo. If it was edited, I will live without that nicely.

About the ring be  on Sheldon's pocket as he decided to go see Amy, maybe I am in minority here but I can see him to have it just in case with him after they made love as they say the temporary good bye. For their Skype calls they were missing each other a lot and imo Sheldon would do it without Ramona issue in horizon. It was only the catalyst but the reaction was going to happen anyway. Surely Amy will understand his motives as he explain all situation. And they have always been fixing their issues since they reunited. So a good talk will fix it and Amy and Sheldon would eventually announce their engagemnet  in first 2-3 episodes of s11, I hope

I am sure this will be better explained in the premiere and/or the post-episode interviews (although those are often horrible, LOL). I also hope that he's going to come clear with Amy about the kiss right away and this won't turn into another Lenny kiss drama where Amy doesn't find out until months or years down the line. It just doesn't suit them as a couple. And I hope that, as upset as Amy might be with Ramona for hitting on Sheldon (let's face it, nobody wouldn't be annoyed by another person hitting on their partners insistently), she won't be angry at Sheldon for it. She should know better than that. 

In any case, I am much more looking forward to 10x23 than the finale. I literally cannot wait for that one.

Sheldon can't lie or keep a secret...so I think he will be honest about what happened.

OMG guys I've had the busiest day here & am just catching up !!!!!
The day as the most amazing start though with these spoilers !!!!!! - proposal - squuuueeeeeeee ! I'm so so happy !
I defiantly think Amy will be a yes, I'm thinking probably then a little chat , but a definite yes ! Sheldon did nothing wrong , unless you count him being a little clueless but that Sheldon , quirks & all.
I was so nervous we'd have a stressful summer but nope it's all fantastic !
I think you guys have covered it all, especially@april ,@mirs1 &@koops so I'll not go on and on !
I've heard 10.23 is amazing too , guys we've been so lucky this season !
So if Amy is only a week or so into her Princeton stay & we pick up 11.1 with her answer etc will it be a flash back or will she stay away for a couple o months or will Sheldon stay with her at Princeton or will Amy come home .......oh the questions !!!! Lol - I can't wait for season 11 !

My guess is 11x01 will pick up that same night, and then either Sheldon's back in Pasadena in episode 2 with Amy coming back in episode 3 or Sheldon stays in NJ for the summer and comes back with her in episode 2 (time jumping the entire summer). Unless the writers decided they have some cool and interesting work related plot for which they need Amy/Shamy to stay at Princeton, I don't think they're going to spend a lot of time on the long distance thing.

I went to bed with no expectations. I don't even like to speculate because my hopes have been dashed too many times (although this season not so much). Now I've woken up and I am in shock. I will not be able to do anything for the rest of the day. Seriously. I sat down to do some work and all I can think of is SHELDON FREAKING PROPOSED!!!!! and it's a bit distracting. I'm kinda in a daze.

Welcome to my world about the bold part! It had never taken me so long for do simple tasks as some I have usually at work like today, lol! I will skip the complex ones and do them tomorrow. I have a special luck as my boss in days like these is always away for some workshop or something alike though!

Omg I´m still in a cloud, I didn´t do any properly minute in work or any task today, the scene come to my mind every single minute since this morning, OMG HE IS PROPOSING!!!!! *sigh* I can´t belive it yet!! 
I told you guys, It was no way that they ended this wonderful season in any other way! *the gold season of shamy*

My bet for 11x01:

that they are gonna back with a "three month before": the exactly moment, she is gonna be like, wtf Sheldon and ask him why, they are gonna have a a sweet and sincere talk and then he is gonna ask her again and, of course, she is gonna say YES!!!! 
Now: And it´s going to start with sheldon frenetic because Amy is back that day, and the rest we will see ^^
 

The thing that i´am not sure if he is gonna tell to their friends or they are gonna wait until Amy is back, I need more time for make my bet in that!

Wow didn't not expect this, also wasn't expecting to see Amy except Skype until season 11. 

I can't see the wedding happening anytime soon. Would not surprise me if its the first episode of season 12, and the start to the final season.

I hope they do another trilogy  of episodes like with Lenny's second wedding being the last 2 episodes of season 9 and first of 10.  So meeting more of Shamy's families.

Finally time to show Amy's family and meet Sheldon's brother.

I know it was not the main purpose of Kevin's IG post but I loved Majim on couch, especially Mayim on robes laughing and Jim's face was priceless! Love how these two get along!
