This particular scene did not make my top ten. Don't get me wrong I loved it. I really did. I enjoyed Sheldon waking Amy up and giving her the brain image gift more. This was sweet and touching for me. I loved that he was thinking of her during the MRI to light up that certain part of the brain.

I think this was officially my number 11 :).

I thought it was a brilliant move of the writers to tie their love for each other's mind to their new more intimate relationship in S10.

I think it's also pointing to Amy's character growth post-breakup. We've talked plenty about Sheldon's already but Amy had her arc, too, that in the end let her appreciate Sheldon as he is and letting go of those ill-conceived notions of what their romance has to look like and all that. Instead of chasing after some ill-fitting ideal she's now embracing their relationship with all its quirks and the sheer joy of having this connection with Sheldon that she doesn't have with anybody else. And while there have been a few episodes in S9 pointing into that direction there have been a ton more in S10 and her engaging in these intellectual flirts with such gusto is one of those signs.

This pararaph addresses brilliantly the oft-made criticism that when Shamy made up in S9 the writers let them do so with no discussion of the issues that had split them up, nor any promise of change.  I never thought they needed any of that  to kick off Shamy 2.0. To me the explanation has hitherto  been Amy's statement  of  her gestalt in the aquarium when she missed the game-playing.  (I wonder what they talked about or played in the car going back ? ) The dating experiences she'd had since breaking up might possibly have shown her there were options out there in terms of better attention, better romance, better being treated as a woman, but that compared with what Sheldon could give her, 'better' was boring and inadequate. Whatever else she didn't have with Sheldon, she could certainly have fun and it was worth having. Sheldon's understanding had to filter through goodness-knows-how-many more layers of awareness and tangled strands of memory before he accepted that she was his heartworm so he took another few days.  Both having grown up so much in the year since then, they began to progress in strides.

Your insight makes much more sense.  You put things so well.  Yes, Amy has grown a lot in her appreciation of what it is between her and Sheldon that's special.  Being with him round the clock, she has got better at getting across to Sheldon  - or he's got across to her - what it really is they have with each other and with that has come all the romance and acknowledgement that she wanted all along.......... and that we  Shamies wanted to see.

Indeed. I think it was healthy for Amy to get some dating experience and see that the grass on the other side isn't as green as she thought it was. And as you say, the "I missed this" scene and calling herself silly really underlines her moment of realisation here over what she loved so much about him and what she might have lost then. Their great day at the aquarium is also what she leads with before she asks him to get back together. Sure, it's impulsive but a pretty straight forward reason to me. To me the question for Amy with regards to the breakup has always been "Is it worth it?" and she even wonders about it in 9x08. Her date with Sheldon at the aquarium then was the answer for her: It is!

And in the aftermath there was a lot of "show, don't tell" so instead of letting them have long boring speeches about their relationship we got to see the new relationship dynamic one step at a time. Sheldon didn't make big announcements about how he'll be more romantic now - instead we simply saw him be by saying adorkably romantic things to her (the heartworm speech) and readily embracing a more physical approach to their relationship (which imho he wanted for a long time anyway). Likewise we didn't see Amy make declarations about how she accepts their relationship with all its quirks and lets go of her naive ideas about romance - instead we saw her doing a FwF special on Valentine's day and be supportive when she finds out about the storage room. And I think it all comes nicely together in scenes like the 9x20 tag when you get the romantic setting with the fire and them drinking wine but also having a ball playing their own quirky variant of "never have I ever".

What happened in S10 now feels like a proper continuation of that. Although instead of being a bit too shy and careful about the new dynamic like in S9 (which disappointed quite a few fans) I imagine in planning S10 Molaro just threw up his hands at some point like "Oh what the hell!" and they went all out showing Shamy 2.0 in all their glory with marvellous results for us shippers! I hope S11 will continue like that! <3

There are plenty of 'normal' boys out there, but who wants to be trapped with one of those?

Love that episode! You can sense undoubtely Amy is a Potterhead through and through, hehe!

Two of my top 5 episodes of all time are Bakersfield and Troll Manifestation, both episodes where the girls are together with an utterly brilliant storyline and amazing acting by them.

10x23 Amy has to leave for Princeton and Sheldon walks her down to the taxi

This was one of the longer scenes that had a lot of great things stuffed into them. From Sheldon offering to take Amy's luggage, to him reminding her how proud he is of her and how he supports her in everything she does, to Amy's sweet reassurance that she'll love him no matter what. It's the love and support they show for each other that makes this such a perfect moment. <3

This scene really had everything a shamy wished for these two since always, I loved it so much! The way both showed uncondiotional love and support to each other really moved me when I have watched this scene for the first time. Imo this whole sequence kind of give us  the warm and pride feelings that Sheldon and Amy are finally ready for everything their relationship may give to both in future. A great accomplishment from season 10 for Sheldon and Amy future as couple and as individuals :)

Our couple is so grown up and also so involved to each other! That makes me smile and also be so proud of both. <3

The E4 announcer described Shamy as " the greatest love story ever told!! "

He'll get no argument from me!!

Not sure Amy would agree.

Her greatest love story is:-

Marie Curie and her husband, Pierre, who spent their days working side by side, bathed in the glow of their love and the radium that ultimately killed her.

Dammit! Didn't have on my list! But I actually considered it sooo many times... such a toss up between this scene and another scene. But I still love it soooo much.

I'm really enjoying the countdown. I'm scheduling study breaks around it :icon_cheesygrin:

This was such a nice scene! It didn't make my list because the last seconds (when Sheldon said to call him if Amy met a tall smart scientist) always felt a bit off to me, but the rest was adorable. It had everything: Sheldon being so attentive helping Amy with her luggage, he was so cute and it really seemed he was making a terrible effort (helping himself with his knee) to fetch the luggage (so much for Jim's muscles, LOL!), they making agreement to call each other all the time (with the Shamy-esque bonus of saying  "Hello" rather than "Good morning" or "Good afternoon" due to the time zones), Amy saying "I'd love you no matter what" in such a sweet way...TBH, before knowing what the withers had in store for us, I was perfectly content with this as Shamy finale for the season!

When I was picking up the moments for my chart , this moment was in first draft. Curiously I put it aside for the scientist  quote you mentioned. I really loved the scene very much for the reasons I said in my earlier post but in a case we have lots of great shamy moments, I had to analyse every detail and I made my choice. However the whole scene will be always in my heart for be a shamy scene I got teary eyed of immensely joy for Sheldon and Amy display of love and support to each other. ❤

It would have been a wonderful bow to tie up the Shamy plot for season 10. The last episode could have been a guys plot and Sheldon withdrawing from the group who acts very retreated. Then in the first Episode of season 11 you See Amy in Princeton sitting on her Couch, when someone knocks at her door. She walks to the Door to open and finds Sheldon kneeling with a ring box in his hand asking her to marry him. (For the surprise effect Sheldon would knock just one time. He could add the other two later after Amy said yes.) This would have been a huge surprise as well without having to put Ramona into the story.

What impressed me about this scene was Sheldon's suggestion there may be other scientists in the world as 'smart' as himself. That shows a significant change in his outlook and his attitude to others. He really is growing up, isn't he. Presumably if Amy 'called' him to say there was one, he'd be there as quick as a flash. Was it that train of thought that led to his rushing to Princeton after the conversation with Ramona, the kiss being a mirror image of what he told Amy to be aware of but he didn't seriously expect ?

lol same for me, I went with the scene when he gives the luggage to her and they talk instead.

Still a very good scene though for Shamy for reasons you and others have stated.

Probably just me but I think when ranking the moments I also thought back to the Ramona stuff in the finale and basically what Sheldon warned Amy about: tall, blonde and just as intelligent was Ramona, so clearly a portent. I still have mixed feelings about seeing that in the finale so it just missed out for me. Had Ramona not happened in the finale then maybe I would have included it in my top 10 if you get what I am saying.

My mind thinks weirdly sometimes lol.

But there are no wrong choices with this top 10, all so far are worthy and I think all the others will be as well :)

Same like you and @jonny , I choose the luggage offer and their talk! We could be a shamy shippers case study, LOL!

Exactly! I know what you mean here. That scientist bit reminds too much Ramona related stuff for I could include it in my chart. Loved the scene but those few seconds took away the perfection from it, if you get what I am saying.

Also have mixed feelings for the proposal could be included  in my chart for different reasons: it was such a perfect sequence of Sheldon's steps for a very meaningful moment to shamy for we had to wait months for Amy's reaction. My hope is the first shamy moment from s11 could be on my top 10 from s11. Crossing fingers for an epic shamy premiere cold open!

I want a Halloween party this year with couples costumes. Sheldon and Amy should be Marie and Pierre.
