[Spoilers] Shamy: Season 10

Tensor

Recommended Posts

Oh boy, all summer long I was okay, no drama for Shamy, i.e. no anxious waiting. But now?? The closer we get to the start of season 10 the more nervous and the more impatient I get... I know it is pretty immature, but:

I want to know if, when and how Sheldon will propose! And I want to know it now!!

Sorry, just had to let this out... And now:

Back to being a responsible, patient (boring) adult...  ...at least for the next ten minutes...

Seems so many of the fanfic writers were right about Amy finding Sheldon "well endowed"

Well, he is very tall, and from Texas.

To quote the Rumpo Kid, in Carry On Cowboy:-

I'm from Texas, ma'am. We all got big ones down there.

Right you are, @Jonny83, and the trouble is: I know it and I'm still falling for it. :icon_cheesygrin: Over the past few days/weeks I've been wondering:

Will it happen at the Lenny re-do? - No, that's Lenny's day (and it was, sorry, will be!)

Will it happen at the Flag convention (forgot the correct term)? - Why not? Maybe he designed a special flag for the two of them and presents it to Amy when he proposes. Mhmm, I like that idea actually.

Will it happen on Amy's birthday? It was such a milestone last year, why not celebrate the anniversary with a proposal? On the other hand: No, too obvious, too predictable, they won't do that.

Or will it happen when we don't expect it at all? Probably!

Either way, I'm sure it will be perfect! The writers really are great and come up with such wonderful storylines. I just wish I had a clue to what they are up to this time! :icon_cheesygrin:

And I'm really excited and thrilled that we are all sharing this passion! For the show as a whole and - in this thread - for Shamy in particular! :good2:

Oh that would be a blast! Writters, please, read this post! :)

I know that and I have never had doubts about that. ;)

I m really crossing my fingers for writers include it in the shamy wedding, as surely they will. I have just, as I explained earlier , spoke about the girl  Amy was with the tiara of earlier seasons and the girl she is now. And how the tiara has been out of the most recent storylines. But as you pointed it and very well, it is not easy to wear in ordinary episodes. :)

My apologies if my posts about this seemed confused in some point. Sometimes it is not easy to explain myself in a language I am not an expert and it is only my fault. Thanks for your patience  :)

Sorry for the delayed answer Spidergirl1975!

Amy actually offered the girls to rub each other with mud and painting fertile symbols on Bernies body, when they were talking about Bernie wedding and I liked the idea a lot, because it would be fun and so Amy, because she likes these kind of rituals, that make others uncomfortable. As Sheldon once said: "Making others feel uncomfortable is our thing". LOL

Anyway, we have 3 taped episodes so far and we already have two SIHs which is quite remarkable, knowing that Sheldon doesn´t like it much (or at least he didn´t like it in the past. Does this mean. he gets used to it and likes it, like he likes kissing?). I guess it is just another proof of how Sheldon got more used to physical contact, because he realized that it is not that bad as he thought.

Maybe the wedding made him emotional, so much so, that he wanted to hug his friends (I would have preferred that he hugged Amy, but it was just his way to say to Lenny: "I´m happy for you two!"

So with two Shelnard hugs and one Penny hug, the writers owe us a big, sweet and meaningful Shamy hug, with an emotional Sheldon, who feels overwhelmed by his love for Amy, that he hugs her. Such an ocassion could be after Bernie gives birth.

Maybe seeing how one of his friends gives births, makes him think of his own life and awake his urge to start his own family.

So when they are alone, Sheldon suddenly wraps his arms around Amy, pulls her into his arms and holds her so tight, that Amy asks him if everything is alright, so Sheldon asks her in his deep, gentle voice: "Will you marry me?"

Amy looks up at him and whispers: "What did you say?"

"Amy Farrah Fowler, do you want to become Mrs Sheldon Cooper?"

Amy´s eyes widen. Then she screams happily "Yes!" wraps her arms around his neck, jumps at him and wraps her legs around his waist. Sheldon is so surprised by her passionate reaction, that he looses his equilibrium and falls to the floor with Amy. The scene ends with Sheldon sitting on the floor, Amy sitting on his lap,  while she tells him about her plans for their wedding enthusiastically, which make Sheldon roll with his eyes, but he smiles and listens to her plans patiently. :tender:

Oh my, I have Shamy wedding fever again!

Maybe I should open a 100 Shamy proposals thread, where I can vent my bubbling Shamy imagination. LOL

Yes they have, LOL!!! I don't know if that will become a recurring gag in the show, my guess is that they might do it some other time, but not very often. Anyway, every Shamy shipper in this world will tune in week after week hoping that is the episode. I've said that more than once; I think that one of the charms about Shamy is that they create "expectations" in the fandom, so...here we go with the new expectation! Personally, at the moment I just hope for a nice Shamy interaction in one of the very next episodes, once that will be fulfilled, I'll start flipping over a proposal, LOL!!!

I believe that when comes the time of shamy getting into the all rituals wedding concerned, it will include all these funny things Amy have been saying through the seasons, hehe. Usually writers dont forget the essencial stuff about shamy, so engagement, bahelor parties and so one...Oh boy, We  are going to laugh so much of happiness, we need that and shamy too! They are the best of making the others feel umconfortable and we love it!!

So agree with you, they owe us a big shamy hug or a tender kiss! For the tapping reports of the first 3 episodes I have the feeling that shamy goodness is growing and growing for great developing soon. And Sheldon proposal has to be something to happen in an unexpected moment, like when he said he loved Amy in prom episode. Writers are teasing us big and merciless (episode one of the season and Amy THOUGHT Sheldon would propose and  it wasnt yet, hehe) but as usually they put shamy stuff happening in ways we get really surprised (like coitus ) and surely with a big smile on our faces :)

Oh my , Amy jumps at Sheldon and wraps her legs around his waist.... That image wont leave my mind all day! :tender:

I vote for a 100 shamy proposals thread, indeed!!! :)

I just hope they don't take too long. Neither of party's  getting any younger. Those kids they've been talking about for years won't be putting in an appearance ever at this rate.

Given how the writers seemed to be scared that a baby could alter the show's DNA and how they have insisted on the fact that Howardette's child won't do that just because he\she is not related to one of the main couples and will not live in the main set, I highly doubt we will  see on screen a Shamy (or a Lenny) baby. Maybe babies are a good way to end the show, but I don't think we will see them "in action". Anyway, that might be just wishful thinking on my side, I'm actually not very eager to see a Shamy baby...I know that's an unpopular opinion, LOL!

My prediction (and has been for a while) is that the Howardette baby will be the only one on the show though how much we actually see remains to be seen. In the series finale you get flash forward scenes several years down the line with Lenny and Shamy possibly with kids.

If the series went on for another 5 or 6 seasons then I could see Shamy with kids on the show because their characters would be add the age where if they really want them it has to happen around that time. But let's be realistic here, we are looking at 2 maybe 3 at the most seasons left.

I have a thought that HowarDETTE's baby will be heard and not seen like Mrs Wolowitz was.

I also doubt there there will be other babies until finale. Still think they will end series with smart and beautiful babies for Lenny. No Shamy babies. Think they will eventually get engaged but I'm not even sure we will see their wedding unless that too is in the finale.

Just my thoughts and opinions.

Babies...I love them and would like to see babies of our fav nerds but to this be sucessfull, there may be, imo, two ways:

- The impact of the babies being more "audible" than  visually in the show, I mean, the babies wouldnt be in all scenes the parents are in or as it was said earlier , we could just "hear" the babies, as we had always heard Mrs Wolowitz;

-Bernardette pregnant really surprised me, as I always thought that babies would come in final series: is this mean season 10 is last one? Or maybe one or two more seasons?

For much I love the show, and love to see the characters happy about love stuff related, I think as deeper they writters get the show about marriages, children, familiar routines, more it gets away of its original purpose. I rather prefer the show end with great storylines than something "endless" but with easy laughs and getting away from original show theme. Dont get me wrong , it is just my opinion :)

About shamy babies...many people say that we could never see them but there are clues through the seasons that I think we will see at least one shamy baby. Sheldon and Amy spoke about having a baby (even not naturally conceived, hehe) as they met for their both genius minds, Amy spoke about their  babies being raised in Mars, Sheldon said Amy was not very young anymore for waiting for babies as they broken up....I believe the show wont end without Sheldon Cooper freaking out about a baby of his own! :D

I just hope, if we have to see his and Amys baby on the show that be storylines ver in character for them and not as they changed totally for they were parents. THat could ruin so great characters built as it has been Sheldon and Amy's personalities though

That's exactly why I'm not very fond by the idea of kids in the show. I like very much Shamy, but I like also the show and its premises in general, and I'm a bit scared that children might interfere with them. As for "invisible" but "audible" children, I think that can be done relatively easily with Wolowitz's baby,  it can be a nice tie with their way the writers have represented late Mrs. Wolowitz, and TBH, I half-expect it to happen. In any event, it's not like we will see the baby in every episode, Wolowitz's house it's far from being a main set, so the presence of their child in the show can be handled more easily and will not effect the plots too much. With Shamy's (or Lenny) children I'd be more cautious, though. First of all 4A it's not a place for children; do you imagine Sheldon lifting a stroller for 4 floors? If there are babies, there have to be a change in the LA, meaning that one of the couples has to buy a house; frankly, I don't see that happening in the last years of the show, it's too expensive to change the main set in a show that will end relatively soon. And, speaking of Shamy in particular, there are so many interesting stories to be told about them, their intimacy issues, an engagement, a wedding, adjusting to married life, before getting to babies...It wild depend, of course, on how many new seasons we are going to get and I do think they will be amazing parents, but personally I'm more interested in those other stories than to see them handling a baby.

Agree. Any change about that would be very expensive and it wouldnt be same thing watching them in a house diferente that one they have been for 10 seasons.

My most wanted wishes for shamy are these ones you said, @mirs1 . They are so many things yet to be explored about those two :)

I'm excited about episode 4 and the prospect of potentially having our first heavy Shamy plot of the season. Big Bear was the last time we really had something pretty substantial (though one could make a strong case that Solder Diversion Excursion was the real last time as the main plots in Big Bear were more about Penny's job issue/Leonard's hidden bank account and the Howardette Baby storyline) so we are overdue a bit.

Of course we may get nothing lol but with the re-do out the way and the Guidance system project kicked into the long grass so to speak I remain cautiously optimistic.

So am I! A shamy fan is always optimistic, hehe! Every second of a episode can lead us to  something about them to cheer about! <3
Hope tends to infinit! :)

Changing sets is not as expensive as you might think. Many of the same materials used in constructing the current set, would be recycled in the new sets.

Many shows have changed sets their last year's.  Examples would be  Mary Tyler Moore, moved to another apartment for the last two years, Lavern and Shirely moved from Milwaukee to LA, in year five, for three more years.  I Love Lucy became the Lucy-Desi comedy hour, for three more years, with a move to Conneticut, after  season six .

They could easily do an experiment with the LA by having Amy's apartment have a problem, say a water line break, and she temporarily stays with Sheldon in 4A.  All done in one episode, and every one sees how the dynamics change and it is completely reversible with no hard feelings involved.

[Some context for anyone who isn't reading the other thread: This is about the latest THR interview with Molaro where he says they'll be poking at the living arrangements soon: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/big-bang-theory-season-10-925751 ]

Yeah, they could do it as a one-off thing for an episode and then be done with it. But the way it is brought up in a reply to a question about a possible Shamy wedding makes me think or rather hope that this will be their next big progress, like this is Molaro saying "We don't have that one big thing for Shamy yet, but we have this big thing for them!" And it certainly helps that it's tied to Lenny who really really need to start their life as a married couple in their own apartment, so whatever that experiment is (Lenny move into 4B and Shamy have sleepovers?) it strikes me that even though the writers are a bunch of scaredy-cats they want to make it work long time. Fingers crossed! :D
