The thing is ppls like to put Leonard down because he is a nice guy, so will pick on anything he does out of place to prove their point. He is not a saint but what I love about Leonard, he will admit when he is wrong and learn from it. Ppls still go as far as still calling him a whinger. I think the table have turned in the last 2 seasons and that title now goes to Sheldon. I have seen a happy Leonard and not only has he admitted how happy he is, his mom acknowledged it too. All to do with being engaged and then married to Penny that is the source of this happiness. I haven't seen any whinging from him for a while now.

Tenuous link but I'm gonna say it anyway.

I want Lenny the couple and Lenny the shippers to stay as happy as I am right now after watching my Bulldogs finally get to a Grand Final for the first time in 55 years - before I was born!

(Delete if you want Tensor - just wanted to share my joy!)

Sorry Tensor, had to reply. It's Grand Final week so no more of these 'footy' related posts.

There's been talk of Leonard's neuroses in other threads and I need to say that I think Leonard has made great strides since S 1 and the wedding picture with him hugging his father brought this to mind. He hasn't been harping and wining much about his horrible childhood lately, maybe since his brief visit with the psychiatrist. I think he's somewhat come to terms with Beverly and Alfred and looks more to the present and future than to the past any more. I would love more Leonard and Alfred, but don't expect it so I'll just imagine there was a talk between father and son, an admission from Alfred that he was absent a lot because he couldn't deal with Beverly, and an acknowledgement of the regret  he feels for not being there for Leonard. And I think that would mean the world to Leonard. I see him as a pretty forgiving guy and he shows genuine affection for his father. As for Bev, Leonard seems to be more resigned than bothered anymore, like an "it is what it is" attitude. And , in spite of the bizarre, damaging way she raised him, he shows her respect because she's his mother.

So I think the next step to mental health for Leonard (and Penny) will be the separation from Sheldon. Leonard, the caretaker, enabler, people-pleaser is pretty damn fed up with Sheldon and their 9 years together. Thus, his frequent snarkiness toward him and happy underwear dance when he moves out. So, I guess the biggest hope for this new season is that the cohabitation experiment is successful, the cord is cut, the wound is cauterized and the couples remain friends but not room mates.

You can do this Leonard. As Nograv said in Discussion he fought a giant for Penny! He can do this!!!

Wedding happiness w family.jpg

Another thing is before marrying Penny his immediate family was Bev, Alfred, his bother and sister, people he was never that close to.  Now Penny is his immediate family, a woman he is with every day, sleeps with and loves, so you can understand why his family doesn't bother him so much now.  He is starting a new family with Penny and doesn't need to stress about his parents as much anymore, plus doesn't have the time because Penny is his future now.

Couldn't agree more with this, and Lenny should plan a future together without their man-child, he need to test his wings to see if he can fly.

More than 9 years. They have been roommates for some time (but I think a few years) even before Penny moved in across the hall

Just got back from watching the new Bridget Jones movie and I loved when Bridget said this because it just so reminded me of Lenny (spoiler alert!):

"It doesn’t matter if it looks good on paper. Sometimes you just love someone for all the reasons they are not like you. Sometimes you just love someone because they feel like home."

Lenny have next to nothing in common, and yet they've made their relationship work for years now simply because they love each other for who they are.

I will be so pleased to see a run of shows where Leonard and Penny are happy and united. Looking forward to them having a place to retreat to, together. Hope it's permanent.

Just knowing that they have their own space, instead of being itinerant, will be satisfying. If maybe they still cross the hall for breakfast, I probably won't be fussed.

I think it was season 2 when Leonard told Penny about how he met Sheldon, that he has known him for 7 years.

I loved his long hair, it was so full and curly! Ok, maybe a little bit too much curls lol, bit still he looks good, when he wears it long, like he did at the beginning of season 7, while he was still on this North Sea expedition. He looked really manly and so sexy, with this beard and the long curly hair. (Not every man can wear a beard). He shouldn´t keep it short and put hair grease into it (there were times, when he definitely put too much on it).

Lenny seem to be in a very good place right now. And how gorgeous does Penny look.

Skull, your comments were OK, but the picture they referred to had been hidden and without the context, the comments made no sense.

Nice little subtle Lenny reference from the writers, if some did not pick up on it. When Penny was in Bernadette's office. And was like "Sure Sure". Leonard said that. In the Flaming Spatoon episode. Kinda cute Leonard's speech patterns rubbed off on Penny.
