[Spoiler Free] Shamy:Season 10

Tensor

Recommended Posts

My wishes for Season 10 and beyond:

1. Engagement

2. A more settled and normal love life, so a change from a big deal kind of event to something normal couples just do as part of their relationship.

3. Some form of sleepovers whether at 4A or at Amy's place, as a buildup and leading to no.4

4. Live together. Whether on a trial basis at first or full time I would like to see them live together at some point. It would be a learning experience for both of them and could be a comedy goldmine.

Hi guys, I'll also try again this season to go spoiler free after the 3rd episode. I read the reports for the 3 first episodes, but I will try to remain spoiler free until the end of the season. Last season I could watch a few episodes without being spoiled, but in the end, after the earworm it was impossible.

What I hope for season 10 is a proposal and they move in together, and a surprising coitus scene would be amazing! I really hope they have been doing it offscreen, and not just waiting for Amy's next birthday.

I'm glad to see several more spoiler free folks showing up! Less than two weeks to go...

Wishes for Season 10:

1) That we find out coitus was not just a one-time event. Even though it’s not my favorite line, Sheldon’s comment at the end of “Opening Night” was very in-character. He always tells himself that nothing will change (whatsoever!) whenever he takes a step forward in their relationship. But there’s plenty of past examples that show us that he knows it’s not true, and once he takes a step, we’ve never seen him backtrack before. Anyway, I’m a big, chest-thumping fan of enthusiastic consent in all things coitus, and I’d prefer that they make it clear that it is something that Sheldon wants rather than having another occasion where it could appear to be some kind of obligation.

2) Sheldon to live on his own for a while, preferably with some sleepovers with Amy. After all the changes he went through last year, I’ve come to see how it might, maybe, possibly, make a tiny bit of sense that the roommate situation is ongoing. Penny and Leonard would want to make sure that they will be successful when they attempt to move out, so they might have been trying to avoid too much change for Sheldon at once. Going through the breakup, getting back together, and coitus would have already been an overwhelming amount of change in a short time for him last year. At this point, though, it definitely needs to be dealt with. Living on his own would be a good growth opportunity for Sheldon, it wouldn’t change the show too much, and seeing him try to be an adult all on his own could have comedic potential.

3) An engagement at the end of the year. We know Sheldon was planning this at the end of Season 8, so I think it would be weird to not have it come up at some point this season.

I really enjoyed that episode. Don’t know whether it was good or not (I didn’t even understand all lines), but it was so good to see news scenes after the long break.

I like “Hank Schrader”, one of my favourite characters at breaking bad. Funny that they have Penny’s meth cooking brother in the same episode. Penny’s brother is a sweety, I didn’t expect that.

Penny’s vowes were so romantic and she seemed so honest with it. Maybe Kaley thought about her deep friendship to Johnny.

I was okay with the shamy scenes. Of course I didn’t think Sheldon wanted to propose to Amy when he stood up. Not after 5 years of experience in shipping Shamy. But it was nice how Amy reacted. That showed that the writers a very aware about the fact that Amy und we Shamyshipper are waiting for Sheldon’s proposal.

I liked Sheldon saying "she is mine" (or something like that) to Alfred. So, I'm happy TBBT is back.

There wasn't much Shamy but I still thought it was a good episode. What I liked best was the "She's mine!" line and Amy playing the harp. I thought her dress was very pretty.

I also found her "It's happening!" line hilarious. It's endearing how overexcited she gets some times. I liked the car scene and didn't have any problem with Sheldon telling Amy to mind her own business cause he was already very upset with the whole Mary/Alfred situation. Mary and Amy seem to have a great relationship so far which I find awesome and I really hope there will be more scenes with them in the future (well I'm pretty sure there will).

Though this is a Lenny-centric episode, we always love the small Shamy moments. Jelly Shelly or to put it accurately, Possessive Shelly, strikes again. I hope I can see more of him this season. Since the Shamy reconciliation, Sheldon has been giving Amy carrots and sticks (more of the latter, actually) so it's nice to hear Sheldon pointing out that Amy is his.

No signs of the ring yet but I'm hoping it would re-appear this season. What I like the most, though, is how Mary sympathized with Amy when she thought that Sheldon's gonna propose at Lenny's wedding. I personally would not want it to happen at that moment anyway because I want more than that for our babies. They've been through a lot and they deserve the best. I think the TPTB are also brain-storming of how to do it in the most Sheldon way possible. And that tutorial in the car ride to the airport that Amy just have to "put a zing on it", hilarious! Well, all three parents are.

What I don't like is how Sheldon was labeled as "the other husband that came with the apartment". I really wish that either Lenny or Sheldon will finally move out of the apartment. I hope TPTB will deal with this soon.

In general, I like the episode as compared to season 9's. No angst this time. We're also given hints of what I believe will be the story arc of the invention of the guys so we have something to look forward to on the science-y side of the show. Akward Stuart is really funny, too. All characters, including the guests, worked really well together in this episode.

Super late, but here are my random thoughts about the first episode:

- I’m glad that they picked up where they left off at the end of last season and that Penny and Leonard got to have their wedding redo. It made for a fun, amusing, angst-free episode.

- First joke of the season made fun of the ridiculousness of the living situation. I hope the fact that they’re drawing attention to it means that they plan to address it.

- With so many characters, we didn’t get to see much of Penny’s family. Of what we did see, I think they overdid the drug and jail jokes.

- Beverly and Alfred only got along for the briefest moment. I’m so glad it was to say something nice about their son. And it wasn’t even turned in to a joke!

- The guidance system stuff has been an ongoing thing for a while, so I hope they find a way to make it more interesting if they keep on with it. I find it a bit dull.

- All the little snarky outbursts at the wedding were pretty funny, more so because of the way Bernadette handled it.

- I didn’t care for the interjection of Sheldon at the end of the wedding. Much as I enjoy their friendships, Sheldon as a third wheel in the Leonard/Penny relationship has gotten old.

- Amy played the harp! Her dress was cute. She often reminds me of a little girl playing dress-up at grandma’s house when she tries to look fancy.

- Sheldon has gone from the “She is not for you” in season 5 to the more direct “She’s mine”

- “Your genitals are a joy to behold” really did sound like something Amy would have said, lol

I found Amy's response rather muted during that dialogue in 4A, I think she found the whole argument between Sheldon and the parents really uncomfortable tbh because you thought that what Sheldon said to Alfred might have gotten more of a reaction out of her.

That genital line is just so Shamy lol and it kind of goes back to Sheldon's line about them being functional and aesthetically pleasing several seasons back. He's kind of proud of that lol and Amy's comments just reinforce that.

I loved last week's episode, and I'm looking forward to the next one tonight.
Overall I think it was a funny and sweet episode. Penny interacting with her family was so nice, both when they arrive and when they are leaving to the airport.
I love the way Sheldon is so straightforward in saying Amy is his. Amy reacted as if it was a natural thing, I wonder how often he had stated that before.
Leonard really deserved that compliment from his parents, it was lovely.
What I didn't like was Amy's reaction at the wedding, thinking Sheldon would propose. It seemed as if she had been rehearsing that for a while, and it didn't sound natural. I wonder why Mayim chose to act that way, or if it was how they said she should sound like.
Anyway, those were just a few late bits about what I thought of the episode, can't wait for tonight!

I think all their reactions as they are acting have to be accepted by the director and writers. Maybe one day the subject can be brought again and she explain why she acted as she was waiting for a proposal in that day. :)

Amy's reaction might have been about she was in a wedding and somehow that ring came to her mind and she is so ready for put it on her finger

Okay. The new episode is absolutely adorable! Our babies finally living together! Can things get any better?

Oh no it won't, Sheldon. We've been waiting for this moment for almost 7 years and so did Amy. I was quite disappointed at first when Amy proposed that coitus should be off the table until they revisit the topic but then boy, oh boy, this happened!

g.gifh.gif

Making out at "OUR" place! Ugh! Finally! I love this Shamy on the tag scene. They're back! The Shamy that we love. We finally get to see the signature Shamy foreplay.  TPTB, more of this please!

Peace out!

I loved Amy's reaction when she found out he was going to agree to the experiment, the slightly shocked look on her face and then the excited hop to move in closer for a hug.

I thought it was a brilliant episode overall, and in the case of Shamy they handled what is a real life challenge (a couple finally moving in together) in such a great way or should I put it in a 'Shamy' kind of way. I couldn't stop laughing during the episode and then I couldn't stop smiling after it. :)

I avoid promos and such, but the title for this one definitely gave away the major plot point. Since I saw the title on the forum a few weeks ago, I’ve been putting off posting here until it aired in case anyone didn’t know. The previous two weeks of episodes were quite fun, but I was glad to have a Shamy heavy episode again.

Random thoughts from this week:

  • This episode was an excellent combination of sweetness and humor.
  • No coitus since last December confirmed. Not my preference, but as long as Sheldon and Amy are shown to be content with their pacing, it doesn’t much matter when they get back to it.
  • It wasn’t Sheldon’s idea, but he didn’t seem reluctant about them testing out living together. In fact, from their separate conversations with Penny and Leonard, both of them were quite open about the fact that they wanted the experiment to go well.
  • Sheldon felt excited, concerned, and a little scared about them sharing a bed. Hey, at least excited got to lead the list!
  • The way that Amy took the coitus issue off the table was very sweet, and that scene reminded me of their D&D discussion and compromise years ago. The moments when she makes sure that he isn’t feeling pressured are so important. I think her patience with him is the exact thing that makes him comfortable enough to take new steps with her.
  • The hug on the couch also reminded me of a scene from an earlier season (the boa constrictor hug one), but now Sheldon hugs her back!
  • There would be no story if things went smoothly, but I wouldn’t have thought watching them bicker would be so amusing. It helped that the arguing was in the midst of a lot of nice, well-intentioned moments.
  • I guess Sheldon doesn’t sleep wrapped up like an unmoving mummy anymore. Amy landing on the floor and then getting even by using the photo flash off her phone was great.
  • Leonard and Penny dancing in their underwear was fabulous. It’s long past time they got to live on their own.
  • Cinnamon! My favorite special girl for Raj.
  • The final scene was the highlight for me. Amy and Sheldon throwing science-based insults at one another and then deciding that they should go make out was laugh-out-loud funny. Sheldon’s enthusiasm at the idea was especially welcome and, imo, in-character due to the odd source of it. Amy can add ‘sexy science talk arguments’ onto the list of what turns Sheldon on, right after ‘drawing up contracts’.
  • Sheldon’s motive for firing off those sciency insults was to goad her into continuing with their experiment. He wants their experiment to succeed just like she does. That’s the kind of thing I meant when I mentioned balancing out their acrimony with sweetness.

It’s so tempting to go look up the previews for next week, but I’m going to resist. This living situation is a refreshing change, even though I know it’s only temporary. Maybe if it continues to be funny the writers will have the courage to make it permanent. I don’t blame them for wanting to test out such a big change and gauge the audience reaction first.

I absolutely loved the way the writers handled this living together thing. Especially how they emphasized that it was a big step for Amy as well since she has never lived with anyone either. I hope this plot stays for several episodes because I think there are many aspects left to explore. When the 5 weeks are up, I kind of want Amy to move back to her apartment and then Sheldon get sad cause she is not there and then ask her to move back in.

Also WHERE IS THE RING???......................We're waiting Sheldon.

This would be great. I can’t remember how long it takes to form a habit, but I think it’s several weeks, and I’m sure there have been studies on it. Maybe five weeks was a deliberate length of time for the writers to choose, and we’ll find that Amy is now embedded (hehe, bedded) into Sheldon’s routine such that he’ll have a lot of difficulty when she moves out.

The long awaited Sheldon hug was adorable! In spite of their occasional squabbles, he is more comfortable with Amy than would’ve ever seemed possible in earlier seasons. He also continues to compromise for her in ways that I doubt he’d ever do for anyone else. I didn’t much care for the forced and nonsensical drama of this episode, but the resultant Shamy progress was a nice ending.

One other bright spot was finding out that Raj is no longer ‘dating’ either of the girls from last season. That abrupt mention was a fitting, unceremonious end to a story that I’d prefer to forget ever happened.

There was no iguana joke this time, but Sheldon once again noticed Amy’s hot posterior, albeit unknowingly, due to the warmth of his seat cushion :)

They keep bringing up the one-time-only aspect of Shamy coitus. I suppose that’s a sign that it will be addressed when their year is up. Though if they get all the way back to Amy’s birthday, at this point I think that she should consider turning him down. If it happens again, it ought to be without any kind of gift-giving pretense, imo.
