I really don't understand, why people thing Season 9 is bad.

IMO, it's had some really good episodes, and some very funny scenes.

I don't believe a lot of people said it was bad (I'm not keeping notes though). It just seems that way because a few feel strongly about it.

s9 is not bad. IT is just most sitcoms and tv shows when they hit a certain point. Become inconsistent, stale, repeating cannon, repeating ideas e.t.c. I just felt first 6 seasons were alot more original and fresh. Like S6 Creatively speaking, was very original I Thought. Stand outs to me was The Hologram Scene with Lenny. And 43 Penc that Sheldon Vortex Warp haha. 7,8, and 9 have just been repeating cannon imo. Also dragging out things. I mean go as far back as S6, when Penny acted very well in that play. Thought okay run with that. They diddn't 2 years on, she quits acting. Lenny get engaged, okay cool. Drag itout another season, shit wedding. S6 LOve Spell, okay Shamy are going to do it pretty soon. They make Amy wait three  more seasons LOL. You know.  I just think they dragged things out. To the point Comedy took a backwards seat to all the relationship progression. JMO.

Sorry I just don't think Earworm or Opening night won or is winning because how funny it is.

I can't actually tell if Earworm is ahead or behind at the moment. I'm not on the same device or even in the same city as when I voted (a little inconvenience).

I actually disagree, while I agree Justice League is original and funny. I Thought 43 penc was one of the best episodes the show ever did. Up their with Adhesive Duck and Bath Item. the whole Vortex thing Sheldon did was pretty cool. As it is Justice League is pretty Lenny Centric tbh.  I mean Leonard was the only one who got Penny to come to the party. Then the Leonard and Penny look, when she was kissing Zac on NYE

Yes, Justice League and 43 both have some relationship centric theme, but Justice League was more original imo. 43 was the same "I Love You" thing that most sitcoms do.  They did the same thing with Ross/Rachel saying ILY on Friends(like they had always known, but said that for the first time). How is that original ? But I loved Sheldon trolling Raj and Howard. I always love when R/H have scenes together.

43 would have been more original had Sheldon actually discovered a wormhole ! But then, the show would turn from a sitcom to a science fiction show. LOL. Now , that would have been a first.

While I agree with you on Justice League I don't see the ILY being any less original as Amy's hair after coitus. While they may have been iconic moments in the relationships of Lenny and Shamy IMO that doesn't give the boost to be in the top 16 favorite EPISODES ever.

Earworm is winning by quite a margin haha.

While Penny telling Leonard ILY is not original. My point was while I would vote for 43 Penc for that moment. I Thought the episode was funny too. And one of my favs from Big Bang. Show was relationship driven from 3x01 though. Where as say Opening Night Sheldon having Coitus, maybe the main reason people voted for that over Staircase which is one of the most original episodes the show ever did. I mean I dare say the main demo on this site are Shamy fans. Not starting anything just saying.

I never said ILY was original. I just the episode was just as funny. I Thought the Wormhole was pretty cool too.

I saw an article on  line from a website tv cheat sheet where the author, a female, had her top 12 episodes ever. She did preface that there was a lot to choose from. In chronological order Starting from season 1:

Middle earth, barbarian sublimation, panty pinata, bath item, adhesive duck, Einstein  approximation, pants alternative, staircase Implementation, cruciferious vegaetable, prestildigitation approximation, love spell, prom.

1 from season 1. 2 from season 2. 5 from season 3. 2 from season 4.1 from 6 and 1 from season 8. None from 5, 7 or 9.

i didn't totally agree with her choices but I will say her choices seemed based more on being funny. A little different than the ones on here.

Agree mostly with those choices. Not Prom and Love Spell though. I Would take them out and replace them with Precious Fragmentation maybe. Maybe Love Car Displacement. I mean as a rule you can't have a BBT best eps ever without mentioning Bath Item and Adhesive Duck, the shows top two timeless classics imo. But the rest pretty bang. Thing is the first 100 episodes of Big Bang were instant classics all of them imo. After Recombination Hypythosis. It's every now and then gem.

If you go by IMDB ratings of all 9 seasons you are correct.. Neither Prom or Love Spell would crack the top 25. Most first three seasons episodes were rated higher. I think when Prom and Love spell were on the episodes before or after weren't very good making them IMO appear better than they were.

If you stand Prom and Love Spell or anything post S6 alone, they are pretty good. But compared to earlier eps? Top 25? No. That is the case with most sitcoms, the earlier episodes are always rated higher. 1-3 was more fresh and unqiue. OF course I still enjoy the show after S6. Just they lose their freshness, and after so many years the show loses its impact, same with the characters.

Neither of these episodes were in my top 16. I'm more neutral towards Prom. I voted against luminous fish because in my opinion it was a mess. I think this was the first episode with child Sheldon. His mother gets his job back for him. It all went too far in my opinion. Sheldon has a psychotic break, shhhh.

Prom is a nice episode - the Shamy ILY scene is great, but the Prom setup felt somewhat pointless to me.I have been to my jr and sr proms and loved it, but it really wasn't a big deal to me, in the grand scheme of things.  So it was a bit weird for me,  to see 30 something scientists attaching so much importance to a largely inconsequential high school event. lol.

Luminous Fish Effect is the oldest episode here, It is just the 4th episode of the entire series !  It is funny -that is, if you want to watch Jim do physical comedy,  spout jargon and  dead pan dialogue delivery for 22 min. Laurie Metcalf is quite funny in it too.  IMO, it is the first "Sheldon descending into madness"  plot. But there are no emotional moments and no couples in that episode.  Comparing the two eps is  truly like comparing apples to oranges. LOL !

In this episode he is gone. Lost touch with reality but has no awareness. Shhhh...

In Earworm he fears he will loose touch with reality and is making messages for his future self.

I agree. I made a point something like that when I first heard the spoilers. The crowd here put me in my place.

Yeah, but that was partly the point - most of the gang never had that experience so there's no way for them to judge and they ended up wanting to organise a cute evening for them. Unsurprisingly, Penny being the one who went to multiple proms was the one who shared your opinion. LOL

Voted for prom, I wasn't a massive fan of very early season Sheldon and thought the episode encapsulated that for me. However it did have some plus points in that it did introduce Sheldon's mother who has had some good guest appearances since and I did like the fish ending scene.

I enjoyed prom because it was nice to see people who never really got to experience a prom event properly before actually enjoy one and with their closest friends/loved ones.

Enjoyed the Howard scenes and him freaking out thinking Stuart is going to bring his mother to the prom, loved the line Bernie had along the lines of didn't you dance with your mother and Howard was like we had to the band was playing our song lol.

It gave the girls the chance to dress up as well.

There were some nice and sweet Lenny interactions as well especially dancing on the rooftop.

Oh and there was a momentous Shamy moment that was incredibly well done and acted but I don't need to go into that further or why I think so.

Nice Sweet, relationships. BORINGGG Lol. Sorry I voted Luminos, because I found it more unique. But that is just my two cents. Luiminos was like the 4th ep of the series? By that point I Don't think the show had found their identity. Actually I am not sure why Luminos was voted in at all. Far better episodes. Like Precious Fragmentation. And Middle Earth! Top 3 episode. How did that not make the cut lol.

My favorite Bernadette line, from this episode, was:-

Yeah, go have weird relationships with your own mother and cousin. This is his turf.

And I didn't vote all Shamy episodes either.

I did. #noshame They're the reason I watch so why bother with rest?

Or at least eps with a significant Shamy scene. If I had an extra slot or two I would have voted for Scavenger too. And that episode with screen!Sheldon whose title I can't remember.

I am partial to Lenny. But I never watched the show over a couple. I Thought it was jsut very fresh and unqiue. That is my voting method, but thats just me.

I've watched the first three seasons but none of them qualify as the best for me. Why? Is there some kind of law on how to vote for your favourite eps that I'm not aware of?

And I'm partial to Shamy. Nowadays I watch the show for them. The first three seasons have many funny moments and some very memorable ones but I prefer the Shamy ones. And tbh, while the funny moments were many, none of them have stuck with me which tells me tht they're good for one viewing. The only one I remember is screen!Sheldon (if it was from the first three seasons).
