No, I agree with you. While I kinda ship Shamy, I personally , still prefer s1-4 episodes and some s5 or 6 episodes like Closure Alternative. Staircase Implementation was a good example of a different storytelling style and Barbarian was a great OOC geek moment for Penny. Precious Fragmentation and Work Song Nanocluster are amazing group episodes too. 

Basically to me, on an average, a s1-5 episode is funnier and more unique than an average s7-9 episode.  And as far as Shamy is concerned, I think Herb Garden Germination and Love Spell Potential are better than Earworm or Prom Equivalency imo.

I Think creatively for me the show was done after S6. S7, 8, and 9 to me were the beggining of the show kinda feeling flat to me. Repeated Cannon, inconsistencies, bad continuity lol. IT is well past its prime. After so many years, the characters and the show just cannot have the same impact they once had. I keep watching because I love the characters and the show. But I am a realist. Shows gotten to real for some, it used to be a escape from reality. Some of the stupid storylines and episodes partic around s8, like Penny staring into Sheldon's eyeballs. Was the most absurd and pointless thing the show ever did, it acheived absoloutely nothing. And was  a waste of time. They screwed up royally after a great Season 6 and 7. Dragging out Lenny getting married, Shamy coitus. To the point it just felt anti climatic. S9 finalie was the ebst finalie since 6. As it was not bad 7 and 8 finalies were so bad, they set up a bad season. And they had to find their feet half way through. This time they have a good platform. But i agree Opening Night is gonna win, only ep it well prob lose to is Bath Item. So many Shamy fans on this board :D.

I've been watching since the third episode and there were clunkers in all the seasons.  Whether a season or group of seasons is forgettable depends a lot on how you approach viewing the show.   If you are science/SF oriented, the early seasons might be considered the golden age, but it hasn't been abandoned in the later seasons, as some think

If you are interested in Lenny, you might think seasons 3-7 are pretty wonderful (I know, they were broke up in season four, but for me, we finally got to see more of Penny's feelings on the relationship).  For those dedicated to Shamy, seasons 4-8 could be seen as over all pretty good, with some uneven points.  Season 9 was a rollercoaster ride for y'all.

Those that look at several things, or just the show overall may not have any problem with the show.   There are several things, individually, that bother me about the show currently, but even with those things, I think they are still keeping it fresh.  Part of it are the various character developments.  If the guys at this point were still doing and acting as they did in the first few episodes, I know I wouldn't be watching.  People get older, get into relationships, and yes, even have babies.   It makes more sense, to me, for the characters to develop and change (I'll point out I think, in some cases, there isn't enough change, but onward).  If you feel differently, more power to you.  Enjoy the show how you want to enjoy it.

Yes I agree. IF the characters were acting like they were in S1 in S10 lol. That would not be right. They are adults now, so they should be in relationship, gettimg arried e.t.c. I just think for some it was an escape from reality, it is no longer. SO some have just simply outgrown the show. It is like I watch S3 my fav season from this show. But you know its not all amazing. Their is some dud episodes. Just they were far and few between. I Thought Amy and Bernadette were game changers. As by Season 3 final, it was getting stale. And they expanded the show. We would not be on S10 if ti wasen't for MAyim and Mel. Alot of sitoms avoid change, for the most part tptb have embraced it. I still think some of the changes have been bad, and some been great. But most of it has evolved the show. I prefer watching a comedy, where the characters and stories evolve. Just I kinda miss the show when it was fun, and the friendship dynamics. But for a show in its tenth season, its still fresh enough to watch.

I just can't believe Closet Reconfiguration wasn't on the top episodes  list  ! It certainly was in mine ♥  Simon deserved an Emmy for it. He was so amazing in the drama and Jim and the girls had some funny scenes on the comedy side.  It really was the episode which neatly balanced emotions and comedy. And the ending of that episode was beautiful. 

And on the topic of the current match, it doesn't really matter whether Luminous or Prom win-whichever wins is  going to be crushed by Opening Night Excitation in the next round anyway LOL !

Update: Prom Equivalency won by just 1 vote over Luminous Fish Effect. LOL.

Oh simon and the show should of won the Emmy for Closet Reconfiguration. In fact Season 6 should of given them the Emmy But that anti bias towards Multi Camera Sitcoms.

Damn that was close. Prom won by one vote. In this one I well vote for 43 Pecularity probably. Justice League maybe more original. God I am going to sound so hypocritical here lol. I am voting for Penny's ILY okay, happy . But I really enjoyed the Howard and Raj plot too. Justice League had Penny as super women though .

This is probably the toughest round yet for me to make a choice on, both great episodes.

On the subject of there being clunkers in all seasons I would agree, sometimes they put an idea or storyline out there and it just doesn't work that well or doesn't generate much interest. The good thing and what separates this show from a lot of others is that they get it right a hell of a lot more than they get it wrong. It should also be said they are brave and bold enough to throw some ideas out there and not settle for a boring routine.

On a side note I have been recently watching The X-Files again and there are clunkers in that series even during it's Season 1-6/7 peak but like The Big Bang Theory they got a hell of a lot more right than wrong.

Went with 43 in the end after re-watching both. The wormhole generator scene and Howard and Raj's reaction just cracks me up every time I see it plus it had Penny finally saying ILY to Leonard.

Another episode that i think is underrated from S6 that should be in top 16, is Bakersfield Exped. It was really the last truley geeky episode. Had the great guys plot. Costume team deserved an emmy for that. And the girls fighting over comic books haha. One of my all time fav episodes from the series. And of course the first time it hit over 20 mill in ratings. IT was also the first time Sheldon became socially aware I Think. Kinda felt sorry for him and the guys in the end.
