Hi, I do not know if anyone noticed this before. But at the beginning when the guys are setting up the lunar equipement on the roof there is a one geeky mistake. The laser is set up on a equatorial mount which can be also used for telescopes and I am an amateur astronomer fora least 20 years. The problem is that to correctly operate such a mount and be able to follow the moon it has to be correcly align with the polaris star. In the show the polar finder scope's cap is pointing to the same direction where the guys are trying to hit the moon with the laser but it should be pointing the north, polaris. It is not possible that the moon is anywhere near the polaris star on the night sky therefore it cannot be north which means the laser experiment would have failed.

On this date May 9, 1962 a group of scientists from MIT succeeded in reflecting a laser beam off the moon. Doesn't this sound familiar to Season 3 Episode 23 "The Lunar Excitation" when the Big Bang Theory nerds were on the roof doing this same experiment. P.S. they did not blow up the moon!
