Tensor
Still waiting for the Live + 7 for this week. I also usually get the Live + 3 for the next week on Saturday, but that isn't available yet. I'll keep posting as the information comes in. For those few who look for the Archive, that won't go up until I get the Live + 7. Fortunately, there wasn't a show this week, so I don't have to worry about the overnights or or the finals. Tensor
Week 28 Early Household Ratings; 31 March, 2017 Shows indicated with an asterisk (*) are repeat. Due to the NCAA Basketball Tournament, there is no comparisons for the last two weeks. The comparisons are for the last new TBBT episode, in week 25. TBBT ran a new episode last night. At 8 PM 10.19 The Collaboration Fluctuation. It had a 8.4 Household Rating with a 15 share. The HH rating was down three tenths from week 25. In share, it was even from week 25. In households, number one for the night was TBBT with a 8.4, down three tenths from week 25. In second was Grey's Anatomy, with a 5.6 Household rating. This was up a tenth in Households from week 25's number two show. In third, was Mom with a 4.8, down two tenths in Households from week 25's third place show. In Share, TBBT was in first with a 15 share, even with week 25's first place show. In second was Grey's Anatomy with a 10, up a tenth from week 25's second place show. Tensor
Week 28 Overnights and Demo Breakouts for 31 March, 2017 Any show name or mention of a show last week, that includes a "*", indicates that show was a repeat. This will be helpful for comparing the numbers between weeks. Comparisons are for the last time TBBT ran a new episode, in week 25. CBS ran a new TBBT at 8 PM, 10.19 The Collaboration Fluctuation. It pulled in a 2.5 , with an 11 share and 12.60 million viewers. This was down three tenths of a demo points, even in share, and down 390,000 viewers from week 25. The 2.5 demo is a SERIES low, however, it should still be the top show for the week in demo. TBBT was number one in demo with a 2.5. This was down three tenths in demo from week 25's number one. In second was Grey's Anatomy with a 2.1. This was up two tenths from week 25's number two show. In third was Scandal with a 1.6, up a tenth from week 25's number three show. For viewers, TBBT was first with 12.60 million, down 390,000 viewers from week 25's number one show. In second was Grey's Anatomy with an 7.89 million viewers, up 230,000 viewers from week 25's second place show. And in third was The Great Indoors, with 7.15 million viewers, down 210,000 viewers, from week 25's number three. In the 18-34 demo, Grey's Anatomy, was first with a 1.4, up a tenth from week 25's number one show. In second was TBBT with a 1.3, up a tenth from week 25's number two show, and in third was Scandal with a 1.1, up two tenths from from week 25's number three. TBBT dropped a tenth from week 25. In the 25-54 demo, TBBT was first with a 3.8 demo, down two tenths from week 25's number one show. In second was Grey's Anatomy with a 2.5, up two tenths from week 25's number 2 show, and in third, was The Great Indoors with a 2.1, down a tenth from from week 25's third place show. TBBT dropped two tenths from week 25. The show didn't drop quite as much as it has historically, after DST starts. But, as I said, this was a series low for the show. And while it still should be number one for the week, in demo, it is no longer that much ahead of other shows. Two shows this week had a 2.4 demo, within a tenth of TBBT. That said, the TV landscape has changed; think on this, TBBT was just picked up for two more years, and two weeks later hit a series low. Tensor
News and Notes, Monday, April 03, 2017 For those of you who are worried about The Big Bang Theory (TBBT) hitting a series low this past week, or wondering how a network could renew a show for two years, two weeks before it hits a series low, please remember, that Broadcast TV in general has been declining. There were several series that hit series lows last week, and relative to other shows on broadcast TV, it's in good shape. Here I want to make a comparison Sunday night, 02 April. The Academy of Country Music held their award show, and its demo for the night was a 2.1. This is about even from last year, something award shows have been doing this year, but note it's a half a demo point below TBBT last week. It was the high for the night. Little Big Shots, had a 1.2 to finish second. This show averaged a 2.1 this past spring, had a 1.7 a week ago, and this represents a series low. This show's demo was less than half that of TBBT. The only other show to get above a 1.0 was 60 minutes, with a 1.1. The Simpsons hit a 27 year low, with a 0.9. 13 out of the 16 shows last night went fractional (under a 1.0), making the average demo for last night a 0.83. So, that 2.6, which was a series low for TBBT on Thursday? It was three times better than the average show last night. The average show, this year, is pulling in about a 1.26 demo. So, the 2.6 is over twice as high as the average show this year. The Big Bang Theory's current yearly average of 3.23 is a tenth of a point higher than any other non-sports show, four times better than the average show last night, and about 2.5 times as high as the average show for the entire year. It is currently, and has a very good chance, to finish the year as the highest demo rated non-sports show. So, yes, TBBT's ratings have gone down from previous years. But, so have almost every other show. So, it's not as bad as a lot of people think. Tensor
Tensor
In an interesting turn of events, last night's repeat, 10.04 The Cohabitation Experimentation, pulled in a 2.6 demo, with 11.41 million viewers, leading all non-sports shows last night. This ties the series low for a new show, from last Thursday. Last nights numbers, were driven by TBBT airing in the half hour before the start of the NCAA Basketball Championship Game at 8:30. I'll do the normal repeat post when the finals come in.

For daytime shows, the women 25-54 is the more important ratings. As you can see, TBBT still does rather well with this demo. There is a show called Weekend Adventure. It is a group of nature programs broadcast during the day on weekends for kids. I've pulled it as it is not late Afternoon/early evening programming. Tensor
For all the ratings junkies. While woking on the Syndicated ratings, along with the Live + 7, was looking at last nights (Wed) ratings. Empire, the show which last year averaged a 4.42 came in with a 2.2, a new series low. Modern Family, set it's third series low, THIS YEAR, with a 1.8. That 2.6, for TBBT last Thursday, while a series low, doesn't look quite so bad, comparatively. Another point, the 2.2 that Empire got last night, brought it season's average down to 3.02. It will almost certainly drop below a 3.0 over the rest of the year. This will leave TBBT, more than likely, as the only non-sports show with a demo over 3.0 by the end of the year. TBBT currently has an average demo, this year, of 3.23 and would have to average less than 2.2 over the last five episodes, to drop below a 3.0.
