JimT212 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 I wanted to ask this after Episode 22 ("The Cognition Regeneration") aired: How come The Big Bang Theory (and several other broadcast-networks' programs) have to air new episodes against the NFL Draft if their ratings are going to end up being lower than usual? I don't know the answer to that one, you would think they would schedule around that. Interestingly, for TBBT, the week of the NFL draft, and the two weeks around it, had overnights of a 2.4. The final ratings for the night of the draft, were up two tenths to 2.6. The weeks on either side were up a tenth, to 2.5. So actually, the week of the draft, TBBT had higher ratings than the weeks around it.

Tensor Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 2 hours ago, serena_1995 said: Gyroscopic Collapse is the series low, as in , a low for the entire show, right ? which episode was the series low before that ? Yep, it was a series low. The hows and whys are a bit convoluted, so bear with me. Gyroscopic Collapse is now tied with Separation Agitation for the series low, at 2.5. Prior to this year, the low was 2.8. That was in season one, and it was 1.15 The Pork Chop Indeterminacy and 1.17 The Tangerine Factor. But remember, both of those were after Daylight savings time started. This year, there was a a string of three straight 2.8 demos, tying the series low, prior to daylight savings time starting. Since then, as has been the case in every season, there was a drop in ratings after daylight savings time started, something every early show runs into. There has been one 2.7, two 2.6s and two 2.5s. So the last five shows have all been lower than season one. But you have to remember, the 2.8 then, is not the same as a 2.8 now. In season one, TBBT averaged a 3.26 demo for all 17 shows. The average first run show that year had a 3.31 demo. So, TBBT was actually worse than an average first run show, in it's first year. This year, the show will finish around a 3.10. While this is lower than season one, the average first run show, this year, will finish around a 1.22 demo. The show's 3.10 average is right around two and a half times better than the average first run show. Compare that to the show, in it's first season, having a smaller rating than the average first run show. Quote and , are TBBT's ratings drop in season 10 more than the television average or about the same or less ? thanks if there is any answers. It is right around the same. Average Broadcast television viewing has dropped 16% this year. TBBT has dropped 17% this year, so the loss of viewers for the show can be seen as caused by the general decline of broadcast viewing. Looking at some other higher ranking shows, Modern Family has dropped 17% also. The Voice is down around 15%. NCIS is down 21% Empire is down 37%. Just for those who see disaster in the fact that TBBT tied a series low this past week. Here is a list of shows that set a series low last week (some of these are only in their first year, so it's a series and season low): -The Voice (Mon) -The Voice (Tues) - The Middle - Imaginary Mary - Chicago Fire - The Goldbergs - Speechless - Modern Family - Designated Survivor -Law and Order:SVU - Chicago PD - Empire - The Mick - The Great Indoors - Man With a Plan - Superior Donuts Remember, that was only last week, and doesn't include shows like NCIS, NCIS:NO and quite a few others that didn't run a new show last week. And those 16 shows, remember none of them broke a 2.0 demo last week, except for TBBT.

For daytime shows, the women 25-54 is the more important ratings. As you can see, TBBT still does rather well with this demo. There is a show called Weekend Adventure. It is a group of nature programs broadcast during the day on weekends for kids. I've pulled it as it is not late Afternoon/early evening programming.
