Oh my God, the episode was so effing funny :icon_biggrin:

Awesome physical comedy by Jim and Mayim in all the bedroom scenes. Reminded me of when Chandler threw Janice off the bed in FRIENDS, except the Shamy one was funnier ! Love that Amy got back at him via flash photography and all the accidental snuggling.

The Shamy hug was so sweet and touching.

And the final Shamy argument about null sets was kinda HOT. So very....... Zazzy Substitution, except hotter.

And the best part- loved the return of Cinnamon :-)

The Big Bang Theory "The Cohabitation Experimentation" Recap: Sheldon and Amy Move in Together

The moment wasn't quite as big as The Big Bang Theory's Shamy coitus episode, but "The Cohabitation Experimentation" was pretty damn close. Thanks to a broken pipe that led to flooding, Amy moves out of her place and sets up shop with Sheldon for the next five weeks. Was it worth the wait? You bet the quantum gyroscope on it. (Spoilers ahead!)

But seeing Shamy merely cohabitate isn't what sitcom dreams are made of. What came next had to play off each character's neuroses and quirks, and did it ever. What viewers got was one of the most realistic portrayal of what it's like to live with your S.O. (at least on a sitcom) in some time. How'd The Big Bang Theory get it right? Let's count the ways.....(more in the link)

This review hit the nail on the head.   This episode was awesome from beginning to end:

Absolutely loved everything about Lenny.  How I have longed for confirmation that they do indeed want to live alone without Sheldon and feel moving out is a step in the right direction for them .   Their excitement and cheers when Sheldon and Amy shut the door behind them and began the experiment, and them calling 4A their apartment was music to my ears.   Seeing them dancing in their underwear and having fun was so refreshing.   Gosh!  I Ioved it when Leonard smacked his own [email protected]@.   Seeing Penny rubbing Leonard's back while taking his inhaler showed how much affection she has for Leonard in spite of his over-confidence in being "cool" and "sexy".   She wanted sex, probably didn't get it, but she was okay with it.  They still had fun, and she was alone with her man.

I cracked up at Sheldon's expression at Leonard's remark about Guacamole in (15) years.   He's begging Leonard to let him go.....?  Was Sheldon really using sarcasm or was he serious?  I really couldn't tell, but I got the impression that Sheldon is actually attempting to move on by projecting himself on Leonard.

Howardette was hilarious.   Hearing Bernie say she was told she could do better and then hearing Howard using the baby as leverage that she can't go back now had me really rooting for Howard.   He can certainly take what Bernadette gives.   These two really are adorable, and it is obvious the feelings are mutual.   Out of all the couples, they seem the most mature.   Did anyone else notice that Howard put his dirty clothes in the laundry?    Twenty+ years, and I'm still picking up clothes beside the hamper.

I really felt bad that Raj gets to know the sex of the baby before they do.   I rather enjoyed seeing him getting constantly interrupted during the night.   I guess Cinnamon has taken her rightful place back on the bed beside him.     Glad to see the dog is still around.

Now for Shamy, I should probably reserve most of my commentary for the Shamy thread.   I loved everything about them, but especially the communication, which is still not perfect and needs help from the outside.   Okay, so Amy needs assistance from Leonard to help bring Sheldon along on their idea.   Suddenly, the (5) year mission makes sense when you associate the timing with something Sheldon is all too familiar with.   Loved Sheldon's realism that like the show, the experiment may only go for (3) weeks, but then he tells Penny later that he wants it to work.   He's not about to give up on what he has agreed to start.   How insulting it must have been to hear Amy say she wanted to quit, and then for her to hear him calling her out for being a quitter without seeing the experiment through!    I loved the argument between them in the end.    It brought back memories from their argument in The Zazzy Substitution where Amy held her ground.   Quirky weird Shamy still lives!    I want so much more of this.

Was Penny's remark about the new neighbors being weird and Sheldon eliminating the knocking on the door of a 4A a possible foreshadow of what's to come?   I hope so because I cannot contain my excitement over where I think this is going.

Thank goodness for spoilers, or next week's preview would have me on edge.

I loved absolutely everything about the episode minus Sheldon implying for the millionth time that Penny is a slut. I wanted to smack him and I wanted to smack Leonard for not defending her. But hey, you can't find all jokes funny.

I was entertained by every single storyline in this episode and I laughed out loud in every scene. I don't remember the last time that's happened.

And poor Johnny had to dance yet again. I love how fearless he is.

I love how happy Lenny were about finally living alone together. Much deserved.

I liked the episode so much! It was the funniest of the season. I loved the editing of its middle part, with small scenes about all the characters. It seemed very fresh and made the episode fly by. Lenny in this episode were really cute, I loved the way Penny and Leonard offered their advise to Sheldon and Amy, with Penny all in for "philosophical" advises like "respect her space" and Leonard thinking about the "real" stuff, like "don't use the flash", that was fun. The "happy dance" was hilarious! Shamy were at their best and I frankly don't find their fight OOC at all, that was a theoretical scientist expertise\vs\experimental scientist expertise kind of fight, which was basically what they fought about since their first "break up" in S. 4. That was a more "heated" discussion, but I'd hope after 6 years they fight in a more heated way...The Howardette's scenes when they were alone were fine, but frankly Raj knowing the sex of their baby before they do it's not. Really, it's being too much of him in their life and from the interviews I've read so far it looks like the situation won't change in the near future. Silver linings about him: finally he has a woman I can approve of...Cinnamon is back!!!

loved every minute of it!( yes, because of Shamy... I'm not going to lie)

I agree, I also liked it because of Shamy(and Cinnamon too !).  And I thought this was (IMO), the funniest episode in 2 years.  Jim/Mayim were so funny. Whether they were arguing about scientific method, talking about intimacy, snuggling with each other or  jumping around in the bed - they managed to make it all so freaking funny !! Leonard's advice to Amy was pretty useful but I found Shamy to be easily the best part of the episode.

I loved this episode, my favourite by far and the funistest of the season as well. I was entertained by every single storyline and I laughed out loud in every scene. I don't remember the last time that's happened.
Howardette:

I love the chemestry between those two. Howard lines about getting Bernie pregnant were very funny and  even when she is upset with him, her love for him is so nice to see.

Raj:

Unfortunatelly, his lack of purpose in matters of a storyline continues. I didnt like the way he found the gender of the howardette baby, but well. A silver linning about Raj though: his most faithfull girl is back, the cute Cinnamon. The girl that wont leave his bed ever! :icon_cheesygrin:

Lenny:

I really loved how they celebrated Sheldon out of the apartment and at same time they helped shamy with advices about cohabitation. Leonard dancing like Travolta in Pulp Fiction....I had tears on my eyes for laughing so much!!

Shamy:

My favourite part!

I promise my huge gush over about shamy will be posted in shamy thread, for everyone 's sake, lol!

I think Majim chemestry was on fire last night in all scenes. We can see how much they put in these characters and have fun performing them. :)

Sheldon was really committed for the la exeperience gets sucess. I loved how Amy has never feared for standing for herself and at same time she was so happy for sharing such intimate thing with Sheldon like sleep time because at least she could touch him longer. Sheldon's happiness was palpable too, even with all those things that in past would make him run out and now he tries for his lady. The toothbrush part was a bit gross but they got even with the weird sounds of Sheldon as he was sleeping. Realistic stuff between couple sharing their lives together. :)

Tag scene....It was perfect and i dont think it was occ. Sheldon has been saying about how science talk from Amy can affect him and now we know it really turns him on, lol. I think the fight was really spot on because it was the first fight they were pissed with each other and they knew the other was pissed and they didnt give up about arguing their arguments. I just loved how Amy pushed Shelon to the edge and she really knows how to do it, hehe.

The making out sugestion was perfect. If the coitus would not be put off the table, I dont know if those two would resist more to each other. At least we know now that Sheldon might not kiss Amy anytime he feels into or anytime thay Amy might be  into  get a kiss from him. But a heat science discussion lead those two to a massive hard making out session.

Cant wait for next week's episode for see more of these storyplots. :)

I thought they absolutely nailed that episode, absolutely brilliant in all aspects. Best episode since Opening Night Excitation they have done and even though Opening Night will always have a special place in my heart I think this episode might be even better than that. Sharp dialogue and such humor for an episode with some big issues or decisions at the heart of it.

Loved the Howardette/Raj scenes, the decision to find out the sex of your baby is always a difficult one and the writers handled it so well and with such good humor. Some great lines, l could so imagine Raj being a member of an online Grey's Anatomy fanclub lol and the scenes with Howard and Bernie wanted to know but then changing their mind was hilarious. Oh and Cinnamon!

The Lenny scenes were funny, I was skeptical about the dancing when I heard but they pulled it off so well. It was inevitable that Leonard was going to get injured lol and his Asthma inhaler would be needed. Liked the advice they gave, Penny's advice was way more mature and logical but then they do use Leonard as a cheap gag tool when it comes to making comments about Sheldon's weird fears and behaviors. Still I liked that they provided some advice, they are helping their friends but also it benefits them longer term if they can help Shamy make it work.

Shamy, oh how much I love the Shamy. Absolutely brilliant scenes between them, Jim and Mayim have just such great chemistry they can pull off pretty much anything.

The writers managed to address what is a big issue for a lot of couples and that's the moment where they live together and all the challenges that it can bring especially at first but also with a ton of humor.

Loved the hug and Amy's reaction to him agreeing to try this experiment. That conversation in his bedroom was so well done, and the fact they both had some fears going into it was natural, but instead of bottling it up they talked it through and that was so nice to see. Communication between them has been a major issue in the past but not in this episode.

The bedroom scenes were just perfection, so many sweet but also laugh out loud moments. The whole snuggle line and Amy's hot bottom was genius, Amy waking up for that brief moment before she was pushed out of bed with her snuggling Sheldon was what a lot of Shamy fans have been dying to see for ages. I couldn't stop laughing when she was pushed out and then she used the flash camera on him, I assume it was deliberate because of what Leonard told her as a way to get him back? lol

The argument in 4A in the morning between them with the science talk was so sharp, Amy in particular's intelligence was on great display there she burned him so many times. Sheldon has come a long way he so wants to make this work and kind of goaded her into not quitting and keeping the experiment going, very clever Sheldon!

I don't think the make out was out of character at all:

1. They do make out, we don't see it often but know they do.

2. Sheldon finds science talk sexy and there was some real science zingers in there.

Sheldon's version of 'does a bear shit in the woods' or 'is the pope catholic line' was genius and the way they power walked out of the room was so funny.

10/10 for me, didn't find anything wrong with it whatsoever and it's probably the funniest episode in years.

I loved the episode. Pure comedy. If I had to choose I would say Shamy's fight and Leonard's dance made me laugh so hard.

I still think that they should find something for Raj to do. And I don't like Amy's nightgowns. Even modesty should have some limits.

Jim and Mayim just nailed it, but of course they are very good actors so I wasn't surprised at all.

I'm happy for Shamy and Lenny and for theirs shippers. I think with episode everyone is happy.

And finally Howard and Bernadette are so grate as a couple. Simon and Melissa have grate chemistry together.

Today will be the day that I will be out of likes very soon. :icon_razz:

This was the first episode of the season I fully enjoyed. My favorite part was the montage of the how the couples were spending their time together: Raj and Cinnamon trying to sleep but being interrupted by the calls; Howardette's do we or don't we; Shamy trying to get comfortable; and Lenny dancing in celebration, joy, and abandonment. FWIW, I too shared Lenny's off-screen whoops of happiness when they were FINALLY sans weird roommate.

Slap your ass and dance in your underwear, you crazy kids.

Solid episode, 4 of 5 stars. I like the new arc (appartment swap), many funny moments (fearless Leonard dancing with pants down, Howardette calling Raj like 10 times, Amy getting back at Sheldon), and even Raj got his share of the laughs. Also, all is well that ends well, they even threw in a nice punch line gag at the very end. The new writers are weird.

I really enjoyed this episode having Amy's apartment water damaged was a good catalyst for them to live together. As i've not been reading spoilers i was surprised that Sheldon would want to live together in a neutral enviroment 4B made sense.I am hoping that in the next episode they're still living together but you never know.Leonard's dance with his pants round his ankles was funny, i did like the fact that Penny joined after a while  and clearly enjoyed it.Amy's falling out of bed would of been alot funnier had it not been so obvious it was going to happen.Anyways great episode looking forward to next and hope things progress.

The show has been aching for years for this living situation, it could easily ditch the rest of this cast and make a Shamy spinoff.

It was so sudden, and I wouldn't have seen it coming yet if I hadn't looked at spoilers. 5 weeks is 5 episodes? I'm fine with 4 more episodes of this, but if even one writer has a brain cell they'll make this the new status quo.

Highlights:

Sheldon's weird snoring sound. (Though I'm pretty sure Jim's eyes were partially open)

The line about iguanas and Amy's bum. (They should definitely have Shamy get a pet now)

Amy and Sheldon getting into a science terminology argument and getting turned on by it.

Other Notes:

Howard and Bernadette's emotions toward knowing the baby were a realistic plot. Raj opening the file...not so much. Glad he got disturbed in the middle of the night for being a snoop. Hopefully by or before the baby is born he'll get another girl plot. They need to realize the flaws in their script are the only thing holding Raj back from having something neat of his own to do. I'm sure the actor can do more than just clingy and needy scenes.

This is the bazillionth time Leonard has done something embarrassing and dorky in front of Penny when they're alone. Kind of an old beat to work with, but Penny was less of a prude? I don't know, let them have their little married plots if they stay out of Shamy's way.

If every episode is on par with or near on par with this one leading up to the end of Season 11, then the show can end with some dignity unlike Two and Half Men. (Though I honestly wouldn't mind a finale about Sheldon breaking the 4th wall)

"[...]the scene in which Leonard tells Penny they're going to celebrate living without Sheldon by dancing around in their underwear is a gem. He cues up Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell," drops his pants to his ankles without fully removing them, and gets all Pulp Fiction-y on his wife, doing the twist (complete with a couple of Batusis thrown in), while explaining to Penny that his sweet moves are the result of his continued play of Dance Dance Revolution. When we cut back to the apartment a few minutes later and see that Penny is shaking her groove thing around the living room, too, it's a moment of pure joy. Despite the tired "why is this attractive woman with this nerdy guy?" jokes, Penny and Leonard do love and like each other.

A moment of pure joy...indeed! :icon_biggrin:

Loved everything in this episode from beginning to end (well...except for Sheldon's insult towards Penny when Lenny bid farewell to Shamy). That episode was comedy in the truest sense of the word IMO. It's been a while I had to laugh, and laugh really out loud, that often when watching a BBT episode.

I don't think Sheldon calling Penny a slut for the millionth time, is giving as good as you get. But that is jmo. I mean I don't think Leonard or Penny has ever called Sheldon or insulted him in such a hurtful and harmful way as Sheldon does consistently.
