I have to agree with Jessica on her review, I felt a little mixed while watching Leonard and Penny this episode.

I think Jessica must have had some of Sheldon's mimosas while reviewing this episode. They were at a comic con. What kind of crowd were they expecting. Penny's acting got slammed and the general nerd discussion was about her boobs and how he got her? Is this shocking. Penny IMO got the worst end in this episode. Even Leonard got the line in about turning down her proposal. This episode certainly to me favored Leonard.

Was I the only one who noticed Penny wearing her hair like Amy with the pin on the side in the beginning?  Too cute!

This episode never made me laugh, but I thought it was good.

I liked Shamy's conversation at the dinner table, when Sheldon was willing to discuss Amy's ideas and then acknowledged that he shoots them down.   Good to know he recognizes when he is being a jerk.

Seeing Sheldon in the kitchen cooking... Oh My!   Loved Amy's surprise dialogue and Sheldon's @ss slap with the oven mitts.   But that's already been discussed like crazy in the Shamy thread.    Nonetheless, it shows that Sheldon may dismiss something, but over time he does come to his senses.

Didn't like the Romanian woman making all the tv announcements.   I found that boring.   Bert was great.

My favorite scene really was seeing Sheldon make things right with Stuart by relating to the way he was feeling and let him know that their behavior toward him was unacceptable.   Sheldon really has come a long way in admitting wrong.

Drunk Sheldon is just hilarious.   I thought carrying a pocket knife was the tool never to go without, but I guess I need to consider a paperclip now.

Howardette were adorable as usual.  Loved how Bernadette was convinced to buy the van.    It's so cute seeing someone so small driving such a large vehicle.   Raj's fascination with Howard just feels too creepy.

Lenny?  Oh Lenny?   I'm mixed here.   On one hand, I love that Leonard got to shine in this one and Penny defended their relationship.   On the other, I wish the writers would just let the "how did the nerd get the hot girl go."   Leonard is sexy in his own way, and he has a big heart, he's intelligent, and he's a great guy.    That is how he got her, nothing more need be explained.

I enjoyed that at one time Penny loved being in the spotlight for being the hot girl, but in this case, she hated being reminded why the movie was so popular.   She wants to be known for being a good actress not because her boobs look good.   And she wanted to be with her husband and was proud to show him off.

One other thing:  Sheldon's explanation that you can hurt others without needing to curse.   I hated he had to use Amy as an example by disregarding her request for help.    That's probably the one part of the episode that I really did not like, but in retrospect, he was bonding with Stuart.  So, I can forgive him.

I saw Leonard "holding class" with the younger nerds almost like him passing the torch... Like him saying... don't give up, it IS possible!

Liked the Lenny storyline. I guess the writers decided to write one that male viewers would like for once.

The  dinner party was just lame and a filler. It wasn't Particularily funny. A drunk Sheldon again. Yawn. Glamour Jessica instead writing about Lenny should be writing about Shamys one sided relationship.

The other storyline was okay. It had a few moments. Getting tired of Raj though. Agree with the other poster Raj is a bit creepy.

I am loving this season!! Loved Loved this episode! One of the best for years for me, up their with 10x04. This season is the most creative season since Season 6. I Think the new living dynamics, have really given a shot in the arm for this show. Now if someone told you three seasons ago, Shamy would be living and having dinner together at 4B. Where Lenny reguarly did in Season 6, lol no one would beleive you. It is weird, but in a way it suits this show, as it has always been a unconventional sitcom. Now I know the hot topic, is Leonard getting Penny jokes again. I have a different outlook though. I saw it as more, Leonard holding class with the younger nerds. Almost like he was from one generation, inspring the next. Don't give up! It is possible. Almost a mantra for all nerds out their. You can get the hot blonde, as your wife. Don't be slowed down by stereotypes. Which of course has always been the appeal of Lenny, challenging socieites coventions, rules, and stereotypes. And I know reviewers like to harp on poor Leonard, Leonard is a victim. I saw nothing like that in this one. He came across pretty favorable. We always go on about the Nerd got the girl jokes, yes I agree getting old.

But we never see it from Penny's POV. Her acting was bashed the entire episode. Leonard even got a line in, yes I turned her proposal down, WOWWW lol. So I am sorry Leonard came across very favorable in this one. Penny is the one you have to feel sorry for here. What was Jessica expecting? Considering the crowd, demo, and audeince. A Bunch of young nerds, who prob live in their mothers basement, skip to the nude parts haha. Who have no idea who Leonard is, or Penny. Like I said it is just soceities conventions and rules, of course they are not going to buy it. Until Leonard told the story. That what makes Lenny so special, they are rare. We should not expect a perfect couple. Thats not who they are, they are so realistically written. That's what makes them so unique.

Rest of the episode. I loved Shamy. When Amy was going on about surprised. And Sheldon was basically don't get me going woman, we have company going LOL. So them. Boy if someone told you years ago, one day Sheldon would be domesticated, and hosting a lunch party with a woman (Not Penny hahahah). Boy you would not beleive them. The premise really is Couples Comedy now. But you know I like that, it is different. Poor Stuart too. Glad Sheldon apologized in the end. Yeah I know Drunk Sheldon been their done that, but I loved it! And Howardette were so good again. When Howard made that joke about Willy Wonka rolling Bernadette, I literally laughed out loud. Poor Bernie. Overall I loved the episode, just a consistent theme of what we have seen since 10x01. I do wish Penny would get more validation for her acting, but then again it was Serial Apist lol. At least she got success their, fleeting as it maybe. Blast me for this, but back in the day the main demo was males. Since Season 6 with Shamy it has been Females. So I do think the Lenny storyline was written for males in mind. And I don't think Leonard too Penny's attention. What attention? Guys telling her she's hot, can I get a kiss lol, and you suck at acting. Sure, in a way Leonard saved her.

Third perfect episode in a row... What is happening, show?!

Loved Lenny storyline, I don't objectively agree with this whole 'Penny's much more good looking than Leonard' thing, but in this episode this story was hilarious! It was cute how Leonard was teaching all those other guys
Loved Howardette/Raj story, specifically Bernadette and Raj! Howard was ok
Loved Sheldon's apology to Stuart, it's about time! They really often kinda almost bully him, and it's NOT ok.

A good episode overall. Love Bert, Raj and Bernie. Howard is a little too much for my taste.

Leonard wearing that change maker and getting all excited is so cute. I want to give him a hug. Lenny' storyline gets a little ugly at first, especially that "wear me down" line...It was hurtful and unnecessary. Just stop it already writers! But then the storyline was saved by Penny's "I think it's sexy". That's the Penny I love!

Shamy behave like an old couple throughout the episode. Aside from the sneak peek part, I also like the part where Sheldon gets confused by Stuart's face expressions and he just naturally looks at Amy for help.

The only thing I don't like, and maybe I'm the minority here, is Sheldon's apology and toast. It is sweet for him to do so, but it just feels so fake and intentional. It seems to me they do that scene for the sake of creating a moving moment so that people can "awww", just like a lot of the S&P scenes these days. They're supposed to be moving, but they really aren't. The writers are trying too hard IMO. I almost got second-hand embarrassment watching that scene. Compared with it, the tag scene is so much better.

-Howardette were cute in bed. Spot on chemistry. Then the rest of the episode was Howard/Raj couple jokes and Wolowitz being a pansy.

-Wait, a version of Stuart that gets fed up with being the butt instead of just taking it and making some self-loathing joke? The drunk acting at the end was pretty shoddy, didn't buy either of them were drunk.

-"We're not supposed to say that because he's a minority". Um, yikes. Maybe that joke would land if it wasn't for the fact that a good portion of Raj humor in later seasons is about his ethnicity, and he really IS the forgotten one among the group when it comes to stable and cohesive plotting.

-Wonder if the new lady is going to become a recurring character. She's even more of a gimmick than Bert, so ehhhh. Also they COULD have made her language barrier thing a good gag, but most of what she said was just nonsensical and not how anyone speaks even if all they do is watch TV.

-As far as Lenny plots go, them running a booth is one of the better ideas. But then it led to Penny getting harassed and Leonard mentoring a bunch of rejects on the still "implausible" notion that relationships are more than just shallow outside features. Or at least that's what he should have told them but going with "wear her down" while Penny talks about him showing her Pokemon cards is easy stereotypical dialogue to write. Right, Lorre?

-Now for the tag's homework assignment. I can laugh at shows that aren't The Big Bang Theory. Boom, do I get an A?

I rated this espiode as ok i thought the lenny storyline had a lot of potential but the writers drop the ball. Still can't believe this big change in sheldon overnight he's like a completely different character

I got a kick out of Sheldon's attempt to have people over for brunch. I also found Burt entertaining.

I could relate to Penny's confusion over fans liking something just because it is so bad.

I'm not bummed over Penny not having a big win except for Leonard, good fiends and a well paying job. She is living the dream compared to Stuart.

I just assume in TV logic the psychic was right and things are falling in place for Sheldon because he has given in to his feelings for Amy.

I must admit I laughed all the way through. It could have been that it was an hour or three after a sensible bed time, or it could have been that it was funny. :)

Somebody needs to reassure Stuart that everybody who ventures beyond their own room feels left out of something at times because nobody can be included in everything all the time. Some might have thought it an honour to be chosen as a guinea pig for Sheldon's socialising. Obviously Stuart didn't. If he doesn't like mingling with unsympathetic scientists he could try spending more time with artists. Why he's chosen this lot as his 'family' when he's not sure he's even a friend is a puzzle.

I asked myself for a moment why he's so attached to this crowd if he thinks they treat him badly and since he doesn't accept being one ring beyond the friendship hub. Then I recalled how attached I am to them myself when I only see them for 8 hours a year. Answer is, there's something magnetic about them.  They have their own oddities and they draw one another in.

When he wakes up in the hospital having had that bump on the head treated, he'll realise that he enjoyed being a different character in his dream so much he wants to live it and make it reality.

Over brunch in the day room with the other patients he works out a plan on a paper napkin. Writing a to-do list makes him feel normal again.

Get engaged to Amy, go househunting, practise driving until he's confident so they can live further out, get mole-catcher in, get married, spend a year establishing a birth-controlled sex life and learning to entertain visitors, let Koothrapalli organise parties, start a family. Solve guidance-system volume problem, make a fortune.

That was an ok episode for me. It was funny and I laughed sometimes, but it relied too much in "old" jokes, there were so many of them. Raj&Howard seen everywhere as a couple, how the nerd guy got the hot girl to date\marry him, Sheldon saying something mean and then apologizing...I mean, each plot, taken on its own, might have been funny, but all of them in the same episode was too much for me.

I felt very well entertained by this - many laugh out loud moments and some sweet stuff as well!

Shamy being all domestic was sweet and hilarious. Mrs. P was a bit one note but I really liked Bert and Stuart there. I just knew Sheldon would fuck up by making Stuart feel left out but I liked that for once he stood up for himself and got to hear some nice words in return and have fun being Sheldon's drinking buddy in the tag. Poor guy deserves a little win! lol

Howardette were cute as ever and even though some jokes are overdone I couldn't help but crack up at Melissa delivering her lines. <3

Lenny had their cute moments but if the writers would finally stop the "he got the hot girl by wearing her down" jokes I certainly wouldn't miss them.

P.s.: @jenafan you have a few spoilery lines in your review. Keep in mind these threads are spoiler free. ;)

I laughed a lot especially with the Shamy scenes and the Howardette/Raj ones, kind of cringed at the Lenny comic con scenes I think they missed a trick here by not making it about Penny and instead making it about Leonard.

Shamy being all domesticated and loved up is great to see, they are like a married couple already lol. I thought it was inevitable that Sheldon would offend someone especially with alcohol involved. Sheldon pretty quickly knew he fucked up and turned to Amy for help. Glad he and Stuart made up and the toast came across as pretty sincere. Love Bert and I do want to see him more in the future, Mrs Petrescu had some pretty funny lines as well. I think overall the brunch went pretty well and I am looking forward to seeing them perhaps entertaining again. :)

My admiration for Howardette continues to increase week after week, they might be my second favorite couple after Shamy now. Melissa, Simon and Kunal were great in this epiosde and in particular Melissa and Simon have been the real stars of several episodes this Season. Loved the scenes when they talked about the crib and Howard showing his paternal side by prioritizing safety for their baby over money, very nice to see. The mini van scenes were very funny, clever use of Howard's back injury to try and sell the idea of the minivan to Bernie. I just knew that Howard was going to injure his back lol as soon as I saw him trying to lift that box

Raj had some nice input as well in those scenes, I loled at him putting Batman the animated adventures? on the DVD screen of the new minivan to distract him from the pain, very funny.

I thought the Lenny scenes at comic con were a mess in all honesty, Leonard self proclaimed 'King of the Nerds' holding counsel with his young nerdlings teaching them not to give up and if I can land a babe like Penny so can you. IT should have been about Penny getting one final last nice ego boost from her past life (her acting career), something to show that all that effort and at times heartbreak producing something actually good and worthwhile. Ugh!

I thought it was a good episode overall, but it could have been really great if they had gone in a different direction with the Lenny scenes or the direction I had hoped or expected.

Considering the clear segmentated demographic the movie targeted. Some how I don't think this movie got critical acclaim. Some how I don't think it was nominated for an Oscar, heck it probably wasen't even good enough to be nominated for a Razzie hahaha. And some how I hardly doubt the nerds were going to go up to her. And go OMG Penny your acting was simply spellbounding, you changed my life. Best Monkey/Horror Flick ever. Therefore give Penny that validation and ego boost. Really? Serial Apist was pretty much the only thing she did that got any levarage, or exposure. These are a bunch of nerds who most likely live with their Mum. And skipped to the shower scenes lol. If Penny really was looking for some validation, she was in the wrong place. What attention did he save her from, more humiliation? I saw it differently I Think he saved her. I do agree they need to drop those jokes though, even though they are true. And it also another factor to consider, is its a comedy. To these writers the hard done by actress, and thsoe jokes are funny. IF this was a serious drama, Penny may get her break or validation. But it's not.  And I don't think Lenny now are any different to Season 3, they haven't changed a bit lol.  They are the same they have ever been. Like some said the snark, the banter, the Penny going That's hot. This happened in S3.

Remember seasons back when Leonard was so supportive of Penny, I think the comic con would have come off a lot better if Leonard was shown more supportive in that plot.  Penny was out of her element and I think that it could have been both cute and funny if Leonard sort of built her up after each guy came around for an autograph.  Their banter could have been between themselves and done to make Penny feel good about herself, maybe making Penny tell her husband 'Thanks Sweetie' at the end, showing how they care for each other and giving us some old Lenny.

I don't think the storyline ended up how Leonard and Penny thought it would be. I think Leonard saw it as a way to go to Comic Con with Penny who would never normally go. Penny thought it might be a way to restart her acting career. It worked better for Leonard because he could relate better with the guys though it may have benefitted Penny making her realize acting may not be a full time career choice. As to their banter that was typical Lenny banter. I really think Leonard was well intentioned and Penny did defend Leonard to the guys.

Thanks, April.  I think I got them out.

I just got carried away.  It's so easy to do when everything is coming up Shamy.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I just loved how Sheldon turned to Amy to help him out of the Stuart debaucle and then true to himself,  he messed that up, too.

Okay, maybe I did laugh a little bit here.
