spidergirl Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I have just watched the episode and that was nice. I laughed a few times, specially about shamy and Howardette and Raj scenes but the overall sense of the episode was like a deja vu. I mean, there were a few old jokes recycled that I would live well without them but the quick laugh is needed to the audience. Personally I am getting a bit tired of some lazy writing around, and all actors dont deserve many times saying so poorly creative scripts. But okay, the episodes cant be all amazing, right? I can handle that Penny/Leonard. The idea of the Penny getting autographs by her movie had potencial but then the old jokes about the nerd guy that got the hot girl. I mean, Penny is such nice character, that is smart, funny and a good friend, why insisting to see her like a pretty doll in a window? I really hope that writters can fix somehow this season this sense of "Leonard is so smart and got the hot girl" . They are married, love each other, why not to explore more their married life as they are exploring shamy who are not married yet? I am a shamy shipper as you all know but I love Leonard with his Penny. Why we cant see them growing more as they bond more as a married couple. People change and they also have changed for better torugh the years. And then comes a random episode that we feel that they are like they were in season 1. I really hope writers fix this. It is just my honest opinion, dont get me wrong Howardette/ Raj. I loved their scenes and all preparation for baby that is coming. But again the old gay jokes. Raj is Howie's bestfriend, it would be nicer as we could see their interaction like this and not with the hint of gay innuendo. And I love even more Bernardette that always know how to get these two in line, lol. She and Howard are my second favourite tbbt couple and I cant reallly wait for the sweet moments between them as they become parents. Raj...well, I still have hope for something really good happen to him and not only that his dating lists increases and increases without he learning anything about failed relationships. I have faith Sheldon/Amy/Brunch Guests Well, Sheldon is really a grown man these days. He now eats sat at a table, he feels empathy for others, he knows when he 's being a jerk, just wow. He seeks for Amy's help about sensitive questions and most important, he recognizes his weaker sides of his personality. I just hope this Sheldon is for continue growing , as he is really challenging himself for his experience of living with Amy be sucessful. And I must say that randy Sheldon is really funny , lucky Amy. That slap was so flirty and kind of dirty. And the man is getting used to hugs Dirty, Dirty Dirty. The interaction between shamy is really nice to see these days, they are really ready for living together. Amy's reaction to Sheldon's surprise was so cute and the botle moment was hilarious! As it was drank Sheldon with Stuart, lol. And it was fair that Amy took care of the dishes. Even I think there was someone who woke up with an hangover...but instead of sleeping at bed , it was at the couch! Not so positive things about shamy: the apologies Sheldon, that is becoming a bit repetitive, as he is a mix of nice/rude person. I mean, he is rude to Stuart, he apologies. Then he is rude with Bert and doesnt apologize to him. I hope writers also can fix this somehow because it only kind of makes sense for quick laugh but personally that kind of thing doesnt make me laugh... The romenian girl was hilarious! And I was so pride for Stuart stands for himself. Enough of bulying Stuart. He needs to be well treated well as everyone else. More gushing over about my shipper in shamy thread, obviously
4everlenny Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Ya, we get it, Leonard got an out of his league hot girl by wearing her down. So, BAZINGA, we get you're in love with this joke....but it's getting really really old. How about more the hot girl was looking for love in all the wrong places. And happened to stumble across this kind, considerate King of the Nerds; who eventually became her best friend and the love of her life. More of this please. What I did like was them having their own plot.

Zephon75 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Okay i liked this episode more than the previous one and i would of said i enjoyed all three stories, but that changed after Leonard's line about punching the guy. After that the Lenny story went downhill and the scene with the guy not believing they where married just wasn't funny to me.Then seriously another joke about Leonard wearing her down,it's like the writers forget people have watched the show since the beginning and know their was no wearing her down involved. Then it just got alittle weird plus inconsistent Leonard only proposed three times on the third she said yes no sky writing involved.Penny didn't propose once she did it technically three times aswell, sorry about the rant. The Howardette story was quite entertaining some of Bernadette's lines where funny. Now the Shamy i actually really liked their story probably the best of the episode. It was nice to see that their experiment living together is going so well, maybe they'll end permantly living together. Also it was nice of Sheldon to arrange brunch as a surprise for Amy after she suggested having company over.Anyway good episode overall would of liked it more if the the Lenny part didn't iritate me so much. Inconsistencies can be annoying. I loathe not getting my money's worth from people whom I've paid to do a job. They get jolly good money and should earn it. This time I'm keeping calm by telling myself Penny and Leonard told their audience this stuff for comic effect. Facts weren't necessary on this occasion. Itwasdestined Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I enjoyed the episode quite a lot. Liked Lenny at the start discussing the comic con. Loved his pride in the money changer. Nerd loud and proud. I can dig that. Don't change who you are. Never expected Penny to get any praise. Let's be honest, she was completely embarrassed by both movies so why would it be any different for a bunch of nerds who were only interested in her appearance. Although it would have Ben nice to have one guy enjoy the movie in the way I 'enjoy' the Sharknado series! Was completely expecting the wear down/settled Shtick. It's almost become a double act this season that Lenny almost embrace as something to proactively joke about. While I'm an intellectual, low brow humour does appeal to me do I got plenty of laughs out of the Romanian neighbour. Thought it was different. Good on Stuart for standing up for himself. Sheldon will back down if you challenge him. Unlike some I like drunk Sheldon every time he appears. I think we overstate how many times it's happened over 200+ episodes. I'll be disappointed if the living arrangements go back to status quo. It's clearly working out for both sides and the writers have made big adjustments to Sheldon to show it can work. Of course this show does love sudden out of the blue changes. Interesting that a guy who hates geology so much thought to invite Bert. Could be seen as a sign he accepts Amy's friends into his life and is willing to compromise for herSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
vonmar Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 So I always like to watch an episode twice before I comment... Lenny...I am really tired of the hot girl got worn down by the geeky neighbor trope. The recaps/reviews that I have read agree with me (Glamour, Vulture, Den of Geek, etc). It seems that we will get some married Lenny adjusting in the next episode, so maybe this episode was the "last blast" for that spin. Howardette....Bernie's patience is wearing thin as is my patience for this totally separate storyline. I would like to see more group scenes as they all deal with the first baby in the group. Shammy...baby steps forward/backward/forward. I am enjoying this. My favorite thing...from the Vulture recap (if someone else posted this, I apologize)....... "Mrs. Petrescu …say her name slowly, breaking it into individual syllables. Cute, right?" Pet...res....cu (very clever, writers)
wowbagger Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Watched the episode. It was....fine, overall? The good: a ) the Shamy bit they put in the promo. b ) Howardette and Raj. Simon Helberg is, as I have said before, a Damn Treasure, and I found myself charmed despite myself by Howard and Raj's weird little pas de deux getting the minivan door open. c ) Leonard's delight in his change-maker. The 'meh': the rest of the ShAmy brunch. It wasn't hideous, just...there, I guess. 'Sheldon says A Thing, Sheldon apologises' is rather old at this point. The ugly: the rest of the 'con. Penny getting either dinged for her histrionic ability or drooled over by Central Casting Nerds, and having a moment colonised by How Did Leonard Get The Hot Girl? Ugh. Show, I beg you, let this one go.

I don't think it is believable that Leonard wore her down maybe if was to do with the multiple proposals then you have something but she proposed him as many times. The problem is that they imply that they're in a relationship only because he wore her down, which i just think comes across as being alittle farfetched. For the first 7 seasons they never mentioned anything about him wearing her down as a reason for them being together it only started to be implied or said after they got engaged. I might be wrong but that is how i see it
djsurrey Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Clearly he did not wear her down. He won her over by being there for her when she needed him. As is typical Leonard frames it in a way that makes Penny feel good and Penny goes along with it. He builds up her self esteem. She builds his self esteem in a different way. That seems fine to me. Of course you throw in a few babies and things get more complicated. Edited October 29, 2016 by djsurrey
serena_1995 Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Bert was pretty funny and he liked the food cooked by Sheldon. Sheldon and Amy's interaction was funny. Howard/Raj/Bernie were funny - but I am tired of this baby plot. I think H/B/R need to hangout with Lenny and Shamy after work, one more time, before she has the baby. . Like Howard and Bernie could do a gaming marathon with the guys : Edited October 29, 2016 by serena_1995
bbtfan07 Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Good episode. Amy and Sheldon are so cute together and Sheldon has come so far though he still acts like Sheldon. Good addition to Howard and Bernadette's baby block without Raj being too annoying. And Penny again meeting up with her past and won't be going back to her acting ways. Leonard got to be the hero with Penny backing him up like any good couple should. Three good plot lines with Shamy and Lenny winning the show. Pennard Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Hi I am brand new here, don't really watch tv and saw my first Big Bang Episode 2 months ago. since I have went out, bought the first two then all the seasons on Blu Ray. I caught up to Season 10 and I am making a second pass through the earlier seasons. Wow, I love this anyway I would like to coin a new term "Pennard" It's when the Lenny relationship gets treated a little too worse for wear Tonight was a shining example the initial - It's a comicon for d list actors and retraction was hillarious rather than have Leonard the bragging king of the nerds they should have played up more of the Penny is nauseated by all the sexist freaks, she with her street smarts knocks each of them down a step with some funny "is that all you got, you got your light sabers go home" responses then Penny heads home with Leonard with a much higher appreciation of her warmhearted nerd and a few comments how she will only stick to hemorrhoids commercials from now on. also how about Leonard becoming less nerdy and cool while Penny starts going the nerdy way and she is the one that pulls a leg cramp instead of the "look leonard got hurt and ended the evening" i digress Edited October 30, 2016 by Penord

Lady in Red Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I was able to watch this episode for a second time last night, and I thought most of the story lines were hilarious. I enjoyed Leonard nerding out at the con, and Simon is indeed a treasure, especially the dance at the back of the minivan. I loved the guests at the brunch, and I see nothing wrong with Sheldon's choices. It was a test run for him, so he kept the guest list small. He chose a neighbor, a colleague, and a friend as guests. As a guest I would not walk in the door of a gathering and criticize my host's choice of guests. Stuart had a chip on his shoulder because it is not an insult to be invited to a gathering. I think the writers were stretching a bit here in order to introduce some conflict and drama.

No Regrets Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Finally got a chance to watch this ep. Gotta agree with lots of others in here. I'm tired of the "Leonard wore her down" joke and not because of the joke itself, but because I'm starting to wonder if these writers can't think of any other joke. Also, I wish they'd stop crapping on Leonard by making him (and those around him) act like it's some sort of miracle that he's got a wife who happens to be beautiful. They're acting like he's a 500 pound heavy disgusting little man with a prison record. On a positive note, Penny's "Your love confuses me" made me laugh out loud. Bernadette's reactions were good. I thought the brunch had its moments. Stuart standing up for himself was a first and I really liked it. And Sheldon not knowing and turning to Amy was funny because you just knew he was going to screw it up again. I am a fan of drunk Sheldon, I know I am a minority on this one but it happens maybe once or twice a season so in the long run not too often. I think I like more that he is now okay with drinking and even opened the bottle for the mimosas. Bert was funny when he told Stuart they had watched Sheldon open a bottle for fifteen minutes as all that had been missed, like it was the highlight of the morning so far. The Lenny storyline had its moments as well. Even if the joke about getting the hot girl is getting old, I still enjoyed some of Penny's reactions, like the change maker was hot was funny. But overall I wasn't impressed with how Penny was treated, although I didn't expect anything different.
