So just like Lenny two episodes ago when they could barely keep it together when Shamy were talking about their problems with Sheldon's mother? Lenny are no strangers to schadenfreude themselves.

It was your fellow shipper who thought Lenny should apologize.

Because my "fellow shipper" already explained that in a direct reply to you that their main point was that Lenny should have talked it out. You know, that same thing that most Lennies here wanted to happen, too!?

I clearly said they should have apologised to each other as well. And yes I think Sheldon deserved an apology in this episode when Leonard deflected and blamed the argument for happening on him. He clearly left upset which they must have noticed hence why they went over to apologize.

But you didn't think Amy should apologize?

The person I was replying to brought up stuff from last season. Maybe ask them what that has to do with this episode. At least my example was more recent.

I agree. Sheldon and the emotion detector was the problem. I think it was unnecessary for Lenny to apologize to Sheldon but to me if you think they should shouldn't Sheldon and Amy apologize for Sheldon testing them with the detector and Amy laughing at them?

I voted bad for this ep and then I went back and watched it for a second time (yes I'm a masochist). The ep had no redeeming features. The emotion detector, the Lenny fight over her brother and the Raj/Howard  storyline - all failed and devoid of humour.

This episode was beyond bad, not to mention unfunny. First of all 1 episode Sheldon's a relationship guru, and the next one he needs help reading even the most basic of emotions in his friends? Really? I don't buy it. Secondly, besides being badly written it is not even consistent with canon. Penny told Leonard that he made her live with Sheldon when in reality it was the other way around. Thirdly, Emily said that she dumped Raj because..... well, actually it was Raj the one who dumped her. It appears as if the writers are not even trying. They throw shit against the wall and see what sticks. Finally the way Lenny treat each other is just sad. Penny decides to have her brother come live with them without even consulting it with Leonard? And furthermore throws him under the bus with her father? Does she really love Leonard? I don't know, instead of her husband it really looks as if he's her enemy.

2 more things I forgot and really disliked:

1) Lenny apologizing to Sheldon after their fight. What did they apologize for?

2) Raj appeared to be retarded based on the way he was speaking to his exes.

I got the impression they were expecting Shamy to come in with the detector because the door was open and Lenny weren't very surprised to see the gadget. What I didn't get was why Sheldon was so upset.

Seems to me for most of the series Penny has been mostly a doer and not a talker. Well at least not with Leonard.

Seems obvious they love each other. When They seemingly made up and were smiling at each other at the end. I agree with mostly you said.

To me it doesn't seem so obvious. I mean I know they do, but what TPTB are showing lately doesn't support that conclusion.

I don't know about anyone else ...but I'm getting really sick of watching the Lenny fights, at first it was funny and added depth to their relationship, but now it's just tiring watching them go back and forth. Not saying couples don't fight but it always seems to be so over the top with them. It's a shame because their character are great of course and as a couple they are a interesting match but the repetitive fighting and bickering is slightly annoying now :icon_question:

The show has been in decline for a while. It feels like they are out of ideas and they're poorly executing the ideas they do have. While I like the Leonard and Penny storyline on paper, not seeing their conversation undermines the issue since it is never addressed properly. I think that more time should have been used to declare Lenny. It also needs a major shake up on the comedic part as long as the show still exist.

I raised an eyebrow at Penny's 'You made me live with Sheldon' as well. I love Penny and I will always be Team Penny, but girl, what the hell. You offered. Sheldon is your surrogate brother too. At no point has the show suggested that it was ever more Leonard's idea than your own. Come the fuck on. That said, I do think Lenny have difficulty communicating, but I'm not holding my breath that the show will ever treat that seriously as a plot point and have the couple work on it. Not when poor communication is such a cheap and easy way to drive whatever conflict the writers need momentarily. And - sigh - not when it can be used to drive Sheldon's Epiphany Of The Moment. And yes, I am saying this as someone who really enjoyed the Shamy this episode.

As to the rest: the Raj Focus Group thing was a potentially interesting idea that suffered from that relentless edit, edit, edit and the micro-scenes the show specialises in nowadays. Howard's dry asides were terrific. As to the end scene with Howard and Raj: now, this was really interesting to me because of how low-key it was. The show was playing it as two people thinking about what they would be like as a couple, without incessantly driving an elbow into our ribs and saying 'BUT THEY ARE BOTH MEN! WHICH MEANS THE COUPLE WOULD BE A GAY COUPLE! TWO HOMOSEXUALISTS! CHECK! US! OUT!!!!!!!!!!!'

And that matter-of-fact approach was in itself really refreshing.

Were they? While not summarily dismissing the possibility, it is also feasible that they were presenting the idea that two (by that point pushing 60) older men could simply cohabitate with one another in a committed, yet platonic, pairing. Much like Sheldon and Leonard did for many years...

I thought Howard was better than the rest of the cast put together in this ep. Except maybe Bernadette who had a few excellent lines.

The issue of Penny's brother coming to syay was a pointless Lenny fight, as he didn't. I would have quite liked Randall around for a few eps - could lead to some good jokes.

An example of what's always wrong with the balance of the show: after the the first scene of Raj's assembled exes they needed a Leonard and Penny scene, but instead gave us an unnecessary and uninteresting Sheldon and Amy scene.

Really bad sight: After Leonard pointed out that Randall's place of his own was his prison cell, Penny opened her mouth in a large toothless "O" like Amy does when she's outraged. How could the show get worse? By Penny coming to resemble Amy. Please don't do that again, KC.
