Who ever is concerned about Shamy, this photo should put your fears and concerns at ease. BTW it is such a loving photo Pictures on this forum should only come from approved web sites, like Seat 42F or from CBS. This web site tags the pictures as their own and often fails to properly credit the photographer or the network. Just a heads up. They do not generally credit the original source and in many cases, add their own watermark, to others work. Please review our policy in regards to copyright in the rules thread, in “The Site” forum. If Amy had just gone to the bathroom where is the comedy in that? lol It makes me wonder has she used the kitchen sink at home for doing that and what Sheldon's reaction was like? lol And I hope Leonard took notes as he's got sinus problems! If someone tells me they had surgery, and that it was a success, I take that to mean the condition for which they had the surgery was corrected, not just that they survived/there were no surgical complications. I’m only at this since last April, but I am now in it full throttle. I never thought a fictional relationship could feel so real, thanks to Mayim’s and Jim’s incredible talent. I hope they will win all the awards they still deserve for it I'm glad to know it's not just me. What is it that makes these characters, Shamy in particular, so believable ? I can't put my finger on it. Usually we tend to appreciate fictional people we recognise. I have never in my life known even one person like any in this bunch of nutters, and yet they stand out as real. My great hope is that it's not because I'm like them and don't see it. You know, I had been brooding over this for myself for a while because I needed answers. I guess everyone of us has a personal story as to why we connect to Shamy so much. After an almost scientific analysis I discovered that both Sheldon and Amy relate to many aspects of my personal life and are therefore a part of me. I for one love Star Trek, I love knitting, I love Lego, I love being alone at times, my father loved trains and had a gauge O model railway, my mother loved Neil Diamond a.s.o. Although my parents are both deceased now, they continue to live within the characters of Amy and Sheldon for me. It gives me a great deal of conclusion. And it is not only that. I don’t fell so strange anymore because I grew up in a household where those things were normal. And I consider the other topics like comics and computer games a „personal growth zone“ for myself. Something I like to learn more about. I believe that all of you might have similar stories.

So, Amy is obviously in touch with both sides of her family. In fact she was close enough to her other grandmother to wear something of hers. This doesn't look as though there is any significant estrangement. If Amy's own father is deceased, she has a grandfather who can give her away, despite, if it's true, bad posture. Considering Sheldon's mentioned a few times that his father died when he was young, if Amy's father was alive I have a feeling he'd have referred to him by now. I think it likely was Amy Great-Aunt if not then her Mother is very old then but she only looks to be in her mid to late 40s when we first saw her. I refer to and call all of My Great-Aunts (and Great-Great Aunts) as just simply 'Aunt'. I think most people do. But there are people in My family who were 70 years younger than one of their Aunts Edited January 17, 2018 by MTBigBangTheoryFan
