You know? It’s a major gift. And the longer we’ve gone on our show, the more evident that’s become.

 

Awww, our captain is the best! I had already known Jim is a shamy but reading that on such meaningful words said by him absolutely made my day!

Okay guys, FWI I was at the taping a couple of days ago.  Tensor did such a beautiful, detailed taping report that I didn’t feel the need to say anything.  But I’ve seen in the discussion thread (that I usually avoid BTW since Shamy fans are not well loved over there!) much discussion - by people who were not at the taping- of how terrible Sheldon was to Amy in this episode.  

So here’s a little bit extra of the Shamy portion of this episode.  As a Shamy first and foremost (but I love Lenny second), I didn’t see that Sheldon was so terrible to Amy.  And this is the episode Jim is clearly speaking about in this article.  And I completely agree with Jim!!!!!

Sheldon and Amy are their “adorkable” selves in this ep.  It is clearly shown how much Amy understands Sheldon.  They have several scenes together and are so cute watching  the PP show with each other.   It’s cute when Sheldon realizes that he likes the show, and Amy tries to help him with his jealousy.

But when Amy tells him there are certain things she won’t do or suggest because of Sheldon’s reactions, Sheldon is very upset.  He’s so upset, he even talks about it with the guys (one of the cafeteria scenes).  He feels bad for Amy and tells the guys that he doesn’t want their relationship to be like that.  Ahh 

So the rest of the show, Sheldon is trying to show Amy that he can change.  He tries really hard to be supportive and not jealous that Amy got to be on the TV show.  And again, Amy sees right through him but appreciates how hard he is trying. This is the growth Jim is talking about in the article.  Sheldon ain’t perfect and never will be.  But he’s working on his issues!

Thought you might like to know that there  is a little cheek kiss sitting on the sofa In the tag

.  (and Amy says I love you).   I bet that was supposed to be a lip kiss, but Mayim had posted a few days before that she had a cold and had on a mask  She was blowing her nose between takes, so no lip kissing this ep!  Mayim and Jim were  laughing a lot with each other between takes.  They appear to be such good friends!

It’s always fun to see how everyone else interprets the story when the show actually airs!

thanks for sharing that @heres2U! I saw someone complain that Sheldon couldn’t even be happy for Amy being in PP and instead of joining Amy had to shout on the rooftop—I interpreted that as just Sheldon venting his emotions in a less irritating way where no one else is impacted by his behavior.

Yes, you are right!  He even told Amy he was going to the rooftop to do that. It was very funny!

Can not wait to watch those Shamy scenes! After reading Jim's words about this specific episode and your extra info , I got more excited for watch it on screen with those precious touches Jim and Mayim performances always give to these characters. It just show how Shamy still  keep doing progresses in their relationship . Our adorkable couple has been reaching a great communication level between each other.

Btw, any Shamy kiss is pure goodness! Love all of them!

Thanks a lot! As is was reading the taping report i felt the same. I tought that they are cute, Sheldon tries to support Amy... He wants to change FOR HER...

And i did not understand the complains. 

So interesting the difference between how people think about it.

Thanks a ton for sharing your take on the Shamy side of the episode. Really appreciate your insights here cause I had a few reservations about the whole thing. But that and Jim's interview really make me more optimistic that this all will play out just fine! <3

I do not know how i feel about todays episode... but of course i have to watch it first  First i do not like the idea Sheldon rents back his old room... But I think now it will not be a big deal at all (between Shamy).

I was kind of worried also about him renting back his old room. But it was never even mentioned in this taped episode. As Amy said, she and Sheldon are in a good place in their relationship.

I meant the difference between the bachelorette party (a hen night ? ) and a girls' night.

Well, there are all kinds of bachelorette parties, I guess it depends from the bride. Some look like girls nights, you  go to a club or a bar, and just wear something "themed", like a cheap veil for the bride and other accessories for her friends. The friends can make (often sex-related) funny gifts to the bride. Some parties, anyway, can get  pretty "wild", more or less like bachelor parties...In my Country, at the moment the "coolest" thing to do is taking the bride on a week end trip (possibly abroad) or to spend a whole day in a spa. In Amy's case, I guess she we'll have all sort of ideas about how to make the party a success!

Thanks. The Amy of three or four years ago would want one of the ones involving rubbing one another with mud or something. With Bernie either heavily pregnant or breastfeeding, they might just sit with their feet in a hot tub. If she's going to officiate they won't want her drunk for the ceremony whatever they do. Amy's bound to have a couple of odd cousins there. I hope they are funny and well-cast.

I know what you mean but I really hope the discussion thread doesn't get to a point where Shamy fans regularly feel they must avoid it. If anyone goes over the top, I think it should be reported. But very few people do that.

Never going to happen for me. I mostly post general show/episode news there, but am not shy about calling out inaccuracies with facts. Tensor and Tripper are really good about reining in the mob when they get out of hand. All you need is a thick skin, the ability not to get sucked into the vortex of Sheldon/Shamy hate and a sense of humor.

Just my opinion.
