I also liked the subtle changes they made to Amy's hair and clothes in seasons 9 and 10.I've absolutely no idea why they've felt it necessary to revert her look back to earlier seasons because, to me, it makes sense that she would want to look a little different ( without losing what makes her who she is ) given how her life has changed and moved forward!

I liked when they softened her look now her hair looks like a straight mess (sorry) and  her clothes need updating .  Amy needs a make over without losing her quirkiness

So are we going to get a FWF this season? Will it bother any of you if we don't get one for the first time since Season 7?

Sorry... what is fwf? :scratchhead:

Speaking of FWF, I hope they can somehow include it with the wedding. The other day, I rewatched S.5, then I realized the first FWF episode was 5X14, AFTER Shamy became an official couple. So, in a way, FWF IS their "baby" like Sheldon himself said. Based on the BTS spoilers from Episode 22, I guess we are not getting FWF in this one. And the next episode, I feel like they might want to do a preparedness episode for the wedding, like introducing Sheldon's brother or something, so I hope we can get an FWF mention or whatnot at the wedding.

Perhaps Sheldon will design a special wedding banner.

I've been wondering: what happened to the flow of shamy fanfiction and writers?   It seems like all the writers I used to read stopped writing around the end of season 9.  For example, whatever happened to hazelra and darcyfitz  and qbmaja? I miss their stories.  Did they lose interest in the fandom?

Some gave up on this forum.

Why did they give up? Just currious?

Well, Imo it's because the feeling they have for Shamy has changed, you may have noticed that they've stopped their updates since 2015 or 2016, that's when s9 was on, and s9 isn't something that we Shamy shippers wanna talk about, maybe all the dramatic scenes disappointed them too much, maybe they like oldschool Shamy better. To tell the truth, this also happens in China, we got tons of Shamy fans back in s9 and s10, suddenly most of them disappeared when s11 came out, and they complained that 'where's the oldshamy?'or 'I am not satisfied with the writers now.' And the proposal only brought a few of them back, I could hardly find someone to share with.

However, I like it's-like-we're already-married Shamy.

I don't think this is limited to Shamys. Many Lennys also left, reasonably, and some of the most known Lenny writers barely write anymore. There also seem to be less Shenny stories (although that doesn't bother me at all, no offence to those writers, just personal views). I also think that now that the show is so far in and almost all the characters are in stable relationships there is less to write if you want to write a relationship story. Many stories that I've seen lately are AUs or future stories (I have one in the latter category).

Ha, I'm happy I've found some ally who feel the same. If there are Shamy 1.0 or 2.0, (sort of). I prefer 2.0.

I think, overall, this show is in its "old" age, it hardly can provide any new and refreshing ideas for the FF writers to use, the whole show is in a stagnant phase.

I think in case of FF writers for Shamy it's especially because the breakup made a pretty clear cut between Shamy 1.0 and Shamy 2.0. In other words: The characters came out of the experience as changed people and it's reflected in their relationship.

With Shamy 1.0 there was a big will-they-won't-they component that kept FF writers busy for years thanks to the slow burn nature of their relationship. So you could read a gazillion FFs about the typical shipping scenarios like first kisses, sex and what not. I do think a lot of very specific head-canons developed in that time, sometimes bordering on conventional fandom wisdom which may or may not actually be grounded in what's happening on the show. (E.g. the "Amy is horny all the time!" misconception or the whole "Sheldon is asexual!" discourse)

With the breakup I'd also say there was enough inspiration left cause now you had people busy imagining how the relationship would be fixed and how things will progress after that. I remember there were tons of fix-it FFs popping up during that time.

Then with the reunion we reached the age of Shamy 2.0 and what was a lot of wishful thinking in the past now suddenly became canon one way or another. A lot of the great Shamy episodes post 9x09 felt like FFs to the point where "the writers must be reading this thread/FFs!" became a running gag among posters here. Now, if the show is already putting people's desires on screen what does that leave FF writers with? Obviously, if you're happy about how things develop you either write fics that fill in the blanks between episodes or you push further into the future (since Shamy are at the verge of marriage that usually leaves kids as the typical scenario now). But if you subscribed to a certain idea of how ~the true Shamy 1.0~ should have developed into Shamy 2.0 then chances are you might not be happy with the choices the writers made which then leaves you writing a bunch of AU fics to fix the situation or give up completely cause everything is ruined and terrible or something.

I think this is an accurate analysis of the situation.

:shy: I’m glad too. As much as I enjoy old shamy, the air between them now seems to give me more feelings. And yeah, the writers may have been stuck in creating funny scenes or planning something big. It’s all way comforting to see shamy is still active in their own way. Amy can be nerdy and have a bestie at the same time just like Sheldon is capable of being robotic while emotional.
