I'm rather happy about getting a scene where Sheldon reacts to Amy in her dress - and a sweet reaction to boot! I know a few people wanted this moment to be when she walks down the aisle but personally I don't care when it happens just that it happens. I do expect the wedding episode to be stuffed with a whole lot of other scenes and they might not have actually time for a nice reaction scene so I'm all for putting it into this earlier episode.

I'm among the disappointed people, TBH, but I guess it depends on the execution of the wedding. If this is the only occasion when we'll see something like that, I'm all for it, and I would even consider it a kind gift from the writers to the fandom. I expect (and basically Lorre already has promised that in the Paley Fest interviews) that there'll be some "problems" at the wedding. Nothing huge, and nothing that can stop Shamy to get married in their Shamy way, just some inconvenience for the sake of comedy. This might prevent some traditional things, like the bride walking down the isle, to happen, so it would be good to have it covered, so to speak...

Yeah if the plan to only ever show the dress is in this episode then fine, if we still get a scene with Amy walking down the aisle at the wedding then its IMO a dumb decision to reveal it earlier.

Sometimes the show picks comedy over something romantic, drama over something that should be joyous and sometimes a friendship highlighted moment over a relationship one.

I haven't liked a single wedding event this show has done so I am setting a low bar anyway, but let's see what they have in store and then judge it.

I'm curious as to what happens that leads Sheldon to see Amy in the dress because, IIRC, she wouldn't let Howard see Bernadette in hers because it's bad luck so does Sheldon see it accidentally somehow?

To be fair to the writers: In terms of production schedule they barely started writing the finale prior to taping this episode. With that in mind I can easily see them going "who knows what nonsense we'll write for the wedding - let's give these two characters this sweet moment now, just in case". I mean, it sure is one thing less to worry about and tbh maybe they also thought the typical "the groom watches the bride walking down the aisle with misty eyes" scene has been done to death anyway (remember: they avoided the whole giving birth business for that exact reason). So yeah, I'm not mad at them either way.

 I'm pretty curious too, to let both the groom and the audience see the wedding gown before the wedding seems  an odd decision, very interested in the story line. Anyway, I don't think that Amy or Sheldon are superstitious, so "bad luck" doesn't mean much for them. I  thought they would have kept the tradition just because...it's a tradition, insert here the dialogue between Howard and Sheldon in 11.3, LOL!

Fans will have different opinions and desires on what they want to see happen with this wedding, I mean it's pretty obvious that will be the case and in some way we are bound to be disappointed with some aspect of it.

Truth be told one of the things I wanted/was looking forward to seeing/hoping to see was a similar but slightly different Sheldon reaction to what we saw with the Harry Potter costumes magnified by 10 as he saw for the first time Amy coming down the aisle in her dress. Not a turned on reaction, but literally gobsmacked at how beautiful she looked seeing her for the first time and about to tie the knot, Amy noticing that reaction and beaming. Is it kind of a rom-com wedding cliche? Yes, but I wanted to see it LOL!

Sure you could still have Sheldon doing that even though he has seen her in the dress already, but I will know he has already seen her so something will be lost in a scene like that if it happened.

But we aren't going to get that now, and i'm not going to sugar coat it this disappoints me greatly.

What I care about is the general scenario of Sheldon seeing her for the first time in the dress and having a positive and sweet reaction. Whether it happens the clichéd way or just him accidentally running into her while she tries it on doesn't matter to me.

Hello.  About the dress and the reaction : i had some conversations about this with many shamy fans. I was a bit disappointed about this for the first time, but maybe this is something like thag when Chandler saw Monica in a different dress before the wedding... and on the wedding day we could see a different one.

Maybe we just got a sweet reaction as you mentioned as a gift...

I can not imagine that we will see the same dress.

Why would any shop stock horrible dresses for sale ? Their buyer must have thought some brides would like them. Sheldon likes the way Amy dresses. If they both like what she wears, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks.

This is true.  And unlike the Shamy fans on this board , I still fully expect them to get the oh how beautiful she is moment in whatever the final dress is .  I just hope there are a few good laughs in there for the rest of us.

Oh my! I just watched the promo of 11*20, it sets me on fire!

 “I’m getting married!” “Can we do a body shot? I’ve always wanted to do a body shot! Also,what’s a body shot?” Amy’s so Amy-cute when doing river dance! 

And with the shower meeting talk and dress picking, I just want to say the wedding is getting better and better!

Not lately. Last week they mentioned it was April 1st and tonight the episode must have taken place on April 7th, the first Saturday of the month, last month's meeting having taken place on 3rd March. So, they're keeping up so far.

Oh, you are right. So in the TBBT world, they've already got the sad Hawking news, I'm thinking most likely they will give the tribute at the wedding.

Next episode, introduce Sheldon's brother, I think.

Still hope to see Amy's Dad, though.

I am really liking the sound of this. It flips the roles we usually see of them (as in: Sheldon is jealous and making an effort for Amy) and instead of just passively "putting up with Sheldon" (which is an angle that always annoys me) we see Amy actively working on the relationship as well.

I just wish the writers would simply let her like some comic books -  it's not all super heroes and such so there should be something she'd like, too.

Sorry for bringing up the old topic, but I think in this new episode, Amy's line - "With minimal power comes minimal responsibility." shows us that she IS capable of liking some comic books, albeit not the accurate quote from Spider Man, but of course for the sake of comedy, I think they changed the line very well to fit in with the situation. 

I think this is a nice touch, I hope we can see it more often.

Well, we already know it was 2 months till the wedding in 11.17. And this is episodes after that. You usually wait that much to get the wedding dress.

Horrible is a matter of opinion. I don't really expect it to be something totally horrible.

BTW, I loved the line about loving something that drives you crazy. Amy is just NOT the doormat some fans say she is. Lines that that and the fact that she can see when Sheldon is being over the top prove it.

She hasn't been since they got back together really (the times when she was perhaps seen as that were rare IMO). She isn't as afraid to voice her opinion as she once was and give her take on something.

I guess I kind of liked seeing that, but the actual thing at the center of this all in this episode was kind of ridiculous. Sheldon wasn't the only one to overreact and Amy was stuck right in the middle of it.
