Only a few more days until the bachelorette and bachelor parties for Shamy. I can't wait to see this episode. I have been patiently waiting to see some Shamy goodness. I am also excited that we are rapidly approaching the wedding. I can't wait to see how it plays out. Is it to much to hope that we will meet Amy's dad before the wedding or has time run out on that possibility? They only have two episodes left to film if I am correct.

There's the possibility (some of) the family members introduced at the wedding wiII be presented in 11.23, to not overcharge the wedding episode with too many things. If that's the case, I guess we'II might get some news starting from Wednesday, when the production of 11.23 begins; maybe tptb wiII make an announcement, or we'II get some news from the actors themselves on IG. At this point, though, it's aIso very possible we see (if at aII) Amy's family directIy at the wedding.

Here's hoping, not sure how they can pull off a no show from them without some kind of backlash.

We will see, I expect the major tie-ins to be to young Sheldon for the big family scenes - because that is a business decision.   I expect we will see some of Amy’s family (like Penny’s much less then Leonard’s).  Heck Penny’s mother could have been an extra. The question is really are they major players in the scenes.   I hope to see Beverly because she absolutely would be at Sheldon’s wedding.   And Sheldon’s mom was at Leonard’s.  Plus while Baranski is busy, her show is on CBS.

I hope the wedding doesn't turn into another 200th episode, with a lot of guest stars that get one line each, so I wouldn't mind if Beverly stays in Princeton this time, LOL! As for Amy's family being not much more than "extras", that thought has crossed my mind too, because from a business perspective, as you said, it makes much more sense to show Sheldon's side of the family. That would disappoint many fans that during the years have been asking to see more about Amy's past, TBH...

Also because a couple is made of two: it may happen but it would be unfair and a bit off if only Sheldon's family have the highlights in the wedding. There is a groom and a bride so I hope at least we get a bit of perspective from both sides. Writers know it would be the fairest to do as the amount of Amy's fans is not that litle and they have been waiting for some Amy 's background for years.

Yes and If they were never going to show/introduce Amy's dad then they IMO should have never mentioned him out of the blue after so many years. As soon as they mentioned he exists and is in Amy's life people were always going to wonder and hope he makes an appearance.

I get what you are saying @MsGreentea but that would be indeed disappointing as @mirs1 pointed out. And considering I don't watch that other show and Amy is by far and away my favorite character, seeing Amy's parents actually for me is way more desired.

But it is Amy's wedding too...hope it isn't all Sheldon's family...

I think Amy's dad should be played by Henry Wrinkler. I don't know if the producers would replace the actress that plays her mom, but I think he would be a great choice for her dad.  It would be cool if they decided to recast her mom that they'd hire Barbara Hershey because of Beaches (ideally I would use Bette Midler, but I doubt she would do it.) .

I just realized she was not on Alias, but the actress who played Sidney's mother looks so much like Barbara Hershey.

Yeah, most likely they will keep the same actress. And Henry Wrinkler would be hysterical and sweet. I would like to see him wear sweater vests over plaid shirts and curdoroy pants and glasses.

I wouldn't say Amy's fashion sense was 'unique' because  her clothes look like bought ones and  I'd  guess she shops at a mass-producer.  Many people must buy those clothes. Sheldon instructed Stuart to take her to Old Navy. (That really exists : I went online to check. I found it and bought something that cost more to 'ship' than the price of the garment. LOL ) Sheldon says she knits her own 'sweaters' but unless it's an American synonym for cardigans I've never seen her wear one.

We call the sort of thing Raj wears over his shirt or Leonard had to wear in Itchy Brain a 'sweater' when we're trying to be cool and 'talk American'. Otherwise we call it a jumper. I've knitted my own jumpers but I'd never use itchy yarn. The knitted garments Amy and Bernadette wear which are open at the front we call cardigans. The sleeveless ones, in any material,  we call waistcoats. A vest is an undergarment worn by men or older ( unless they're camping in a cold climate) ladies. 

Amy's generally colour co-ordinated well enough. I think she gives thought to the way she puts her clothes together  i.e. non-clashing  separates for work and home, dresses for going out in, and  hardly ever casual.

Actually Amy dresses the way I and my colleagues did for work as Local Government Officers in the 1960s. We had to look smart ( in the English sense of the word )  for the public but  needed to be comfortable about the office. Perhaps that's because she used to wear her late grandmother's things and still likes the style. Not that I'm old enough to be Amy's grandmother  who had grey hair and a turkey neck.  

Yes, I'd love to see a relative of hers dressed Amy's way but I don't think I'd notice. Somebody in the script or on the forum would have to point it out.

The sweater habit is somewhat typical of people who work in cold laboratories.

If her kin did not work in a lab, they would likely dress more appropriately for Southern California.

Seriously though, I get your feelings about an undone story! There was one about the gang in high school that I really liked and hasn't been updated for a LONG time. I postponed posting my own for months in order to avoid a big gap, as I did not to frustrate any reader I might have.

Not to be excited about the finale, because I'm sure they'll find a way to disappoint my expectations (lol), but, reading Bill's tweet, who do you think is left to cast? We know about the casting of George Jr.; if they want to have Missy, I think they'll bring back the actress from season 1 (she has worked on other Lorre shows). Same goes for Meemaw. Mary will be there. So, regarding Sheldon's family we should be good. Am I a fool if I hope this excitement involves Amy's family? If not, do we really need more famous guest stars, given the bunch of people we know will be in attendance?

Joking aside, when I read BiII's tweet I had your same thoughts, aII the roIes in SheIdon's family are aIready booked and, even if more actors from the TBBT family  show up, that shouId not be "mind bowing". I reaIIy hope they make an announcement soon and it's about Amy's family!

BTW, who do you think wiII be the celebrant at Shamy wedding? Joking, Jim said during the PaIey fest interviews it might be WiI Wheaton. TBH, I think he might be right, if I remember correctIy at PaIey Fest it was announced he wiII be at the wedding, and I see him in the roIe.

With all due respect to Mr. Shatner, I don't feel the pressing need to have him at Sheldon and Amy's wedding. Sorry, Star Trek fans lol If anything, I hope Amy's fans get a win for once!

WiIIiam Shatner as Amy's dad and everyone is happy, ahahah! Again, just kidding, my greatest wish for the wedding is to meet Amy's family in the first pIace and I don't reaIIy care who pIays the roIes! I agree that the advertising decisions this season (but I might say since Coitus 1.0 happened) have been quite puzzling, no idea how they are going to pIay this one. IdeaIIy, by the time the press report for the finaIe comes out (and generally for the finaIe it happens sooner than for "regular" episodes) we shouId know something. I sure hope we do!
