Die Zimtzicke
Does anyone think the fact that Melissa is pregnant shifts the balance even more toward Shamy? Depending on when the baby is coming, it possibly means less Howardette, and less of the three women together depending on how they work it, so I tend to think it might mean more Shamy, or more of the guys together doing things. It's possible I guess, though there are other characters and relationships that need perhaps more attention this season. If we do see less of Bernadette then they could direct that focus elsewhere storyline wise. I wouldn't say no to seeing more Pamy It was already looking like it might be an interesting season and Melissa's news will further add to that. Looking at Tensor's screen time project Shamy already got a massive boost in S10. I have a hard time imagining that they could get even more. And as much as I love S10 I don't think they need even more focus. A bit more balance would be much welcomed and there are plenty of other characters who can fill the void left behind when Melissa is absent. Also, they're living together now so I would expect a certain level of quirky domestic scenes with them. If they're taking a step back this season save for a plot here or there I'll be fine. (I shipped Kira and Odo so hard! <3) There are a few other slides from S10 including Sheldon throwing a surprise brunch for Amy (awww) but most of it seems to come from the Leftover Thermalization episode. Someone was a bit lazy with this one. LOL

It happened once also for a promo...they forgot the geo-block and for some time I was able to watch it, it was fun until it lasted, at some point they realized the mistake! I get all the reasons behind that, but geo-block is really annoying, especially when we are talking about pictures, most of them from S. 8, as April noted!!! April
Alright, Shamies, knock out rounds of the tournament started!! :D There are 7 episodes with big Shamy moments/plots in the final 16 so many opportunities to root for our faves! <3 From Tripper's post: 9 minutes ago, Tripper said: The first match is open for voting now and will run until Monday. After that there's a new match every other day. The first and last matches are padded only because there's a handover period needed, where I push a button to reset the rounds rather than the system starting them automatically at midnight. The second knock-out round will open on Monday, July 31. Cast your vote in the first knock-out match of our The Big Bang Theory Episode Tournament So it's basically "The Hug" vs. "The Kiss" lol I know what I'm voting for! ;D

vonmar
Sorry guys, but I voted for "the hug" In "The Bath Item Hypothesis". Â Sheldon's first step to becoming more human. While I adored the kiss, I didn't like much else in that episode. Â For me, the kiss, saved the episode.

That's how I feel about Bath Item - I didn't like the episode that much and the hug is the only thing that makes it memorable. So meh it doesn't get my vote. /shrug

snapepans
Haha, since some fans over analysed Bath Item, they thought this episode was some kind of "evidence", you know, which kinda ruined this episode for me, so, I voted 715, and I like that "Yvette the vet".

Jonny
No-brainer choice, but not a big fan of either episodes. Scenes yes (in the case of Locomotive) but as 'complete' episodes no.
April
For me Locomotive has also a few other things going for it. The plot with Lenny/Raj/Yvette taking care of Cinnamon was fun enough. But leaving that aside (because this is the Shamy thread after all!): I actually really like how the Shamy plot played out. Sure, on the surface it's Sheldon being annoying for no reason and only saving his neck by kissing Amy. BUT imho it's the way the episode is constructed that makes it a really satisfying payoff for me. Now, the whole thing starts off with Amy trying to trick Sheldon into spending a romantic weekend with her. She's trying to bribe him with the help of his train enthusiasm and hopes that this will get him into a lovey-dovey mood... somehow. But then it blows up into her face when they get on the train and Sheldon actually starts to enjoy himself just like she insisted - but it's not the way that she imagined it would be. The thing is, Amy is a flawed character and I kinda love the mix of her helplessness and manipulative side the writers use here to move the plot forward. I feel with her but I also feel critical of her. I totally understand why she did it cause at the time Sheldon was in that weird phase where the writers would just let him hand out scraps of affection and right in this episode he's holding back a hug for no reason. So it makes sense that Amy would feel the need to bribe him. But also, in doing so she's not very clear what she actually expects of him and this is where it all goes downhill quickly. I think it's absolutely justified that Sheldon calls her out on this. Now for Sheldon I think what the writers were aiming for was that he still struggles showing his affection physically (like the hug) and when in doubt will still opt to control himself instead of giving into his urges so that when he finally kisses Amy and goes from "angrily trying to prove a point" to "oh wait, this is actually nice!" it will be all the more impressive. And it sure was acted flawlessly by Jim and Mayim. <3 Also, I actually find it rather cute that Sheldon made a new friend. People usually do not bond with him that easily so having another train fan that he can share his enthusiasm with was heart-warming. And sure, it was bad behaviour and as such I'm not excusing that. Sheldon obviously has his flaws and he gets called out on it as well. But just seeing how much he enjoys himself here was actually a good move cause at the very end of the episode he puts the kiss with Amy on the same level - which... !!! Sheldon, you old hippie!
