mirs1 Posted April 17, 2018 Share Posted April 17, 2018 I think when peopIe from the Shamy camp say they don't want an overcrowded wedding (and some of us have been saying that in this very thread since the beginning of the season) it comes from a pIace of Iove, we don't want Shamy speciaI day not to be aII about Shamy. PersonaIIy, I'm very excited for the Iist of guest star introduced, I reaIIy am. Kathy Bates as Amy's mom is a brilliant choice, I'm so happy about it that I don't even care (as I normally wouId have done) they recast the part, and Mark HamiII in the show is a dream come true for every Star Wars fan. If you ask me, though, I wouId have cut a bit the Iist of the recurring cast present, I prefer a Shamy scene to a scene were Stuart interacts with Bert, TBH. amethyst Posted April 17, 2018 Share Posted April 17, 2018 I'm still clinging to the hope that Steve Holland has remembered what he said in his interview about the writers wanting certain people at the wedding but that it's Sheldon and Amy's big day!! I am however interested to see how they write Amy's mom....if they go with an overbearing, overprotective woman I can see Kathy Bates being amazing in the role! Yes! Thank goodness it wont have any sickness reason that couldnt allow Shamy live their special day fully! Btw Pink eye is an eye infection like a conjuctivitis, right? Same thing I believe, I know in the UK we call it Conjunctivitis (NHS site says Pink Eye and Conjunctivitis are the same thing). Had it a couple of times in my youth, horrible when your eyelash sticks to your eye and you have to use hot water and cotton wool buds to clean it, ugh! 2L344 Posted April 18, 2018 Share Posted April 18, 2018 A little late but here’s my take on last week’s episode— Like everyone here I loved it! Old school feels for the bachelorette party. A lot of us in the past discussed Amy’s transformation from the gal she was in the first couple of seasons to who she is today, and how today’s Amy may not be interested in a big wedding and all the bells and whistles associated with it. For me, her disappointment in the quilting bee and desire for a wild night out is evidence she still craves to some extent the “bells and whistles” associated with a first wedding! With that I’m hoping she gets a very special day when the vows are exchanged! Sheldon’s visit in the woods was nicely done and it was a warm and fuzzy moment when the guys point out to Sheldon that he has a fulfilling life. Sheldon vocalizing his happiness with where life has led him with Amy, and not desiring what could have been, should put to rest the notion of a “cold feet” scenario on the wedding day. Love the actress, Oscar winner and has played a lot of characters in her career. For me however she will always be the gal who took a sledgehammer to James Caan’s ankle in “Misery” and was the creepy mom who ran the front desk in “American Horror Story Hotel”. So IF she turns out to be Amy’s mom I’ll have to work hard to keep an open mind lol! I wrote a story with Amy and her mother making up lol Will be interesting to see what she is really like, I get the impression Amy is closer to her dad (strange to say considering we don't even know anything really about him) but I hope there is some warmth there between mother and daughter on this big day as well! She's a mega talented actress (still assuming she is there to play Amy' s mother) I think she can pull off a number of roles even though she's probably more famous for chilling ones lol. Thing is will we actually get a good idea of what their relationship is like or as you said some kind of scene that perhaps maybe even fixes their relationship a bit if there is a bit of tension that mother and daughter want to release before the wedding in an episode of just 20 mins? This is why I really wanted (and I think others did as well, though my memory could be wrong) to see them before the wedding. Amy's parents turning up say for a meal in 4B, before the wedding and mother and daughter perhaps resolving something (assuming the strict upbringing is what really happened, there are a lot of conflicting pieces of dialogue out there) before the wedding. Boy, it´s been a long time since my last comment here, because of some personal issues with season 11(my heart is still recovering from some scenes I had to watch this season and I was really mad, so I stayed away from the thread, because I didn´t want to spread bad vibes here) and my rl. But after reading who will attend at Shamy´s wedding I couldn´t resist to write here. I love, love, love Kathy Bates! She was brilliant in Misery and I´m so happy, that she will play Amy´s mom. If someone knows how to play a creepy, disturbing character than it´s her. (If the writers continue with their closet story) I`m hoping that Mark Hamill takes the part of Amy´s dad, because I want him and Kathy to walk into the room side by side, while the Star Wars Theme plays somewhere in the background, so they both turn their heads and the camera swing to the right, where Leonard appears and apologizes pointing at his cell phone, saying that his mom just called. But I would be fine with Teller as well. I also liked the fact, that Sheldon wanted to disguise himself as Marie Curie when he was a child. That is so adorable! It would be nice to have a Halloween episode in season 12 where Amy is disguised as Pierre and Sheldon as Marie Curie. Imagine George Jr.´s face when he gets a message from Sheldon with the following content: "This time you won´t stop me from being Marie Curie! Ne ne ne ne ne" First George is like "WTF?!" but then his lips curl up to a smile and he says "You are still ridiculous little brother, huh?"
