One of the things I most love about Sheldon's feelings for Amy is the guy is an old hippie after all as @April said. The best irony imo about such interisting, rational and quirky character. For some Sheldon changed too much. To me Sheldon really had been maturing as he feels loved in the best way!

Yes, imho it's something that he always had in himself but for various reasons it was all locked away until Amy came along and all those defense mechanisms he built up slowly crumbled away. But it took a long time to get there.

As I portrayed in one of my fanfics, I think he let his defences down for Amy, because she was as scared of intimacy as he was.

For all her seeming determination to experience intimacy, she was every bit as frightened as Sheldon was.

You've only got to look at The Love Spell Potential to see it.

I think there are examples when she talked a big game but did freak out or panic a little when it came to actually making progress in their relationship. Which is only natural, I mean the nerves in Opening Night which were brilliantly acted felt very real for both of them so that made a ton of sense. They are both inexperienced when it comes to relationships, and they are each others first serious relationship as well.

But with the example you quoted she also felt uncomfortable with her friends joking about their relationship as well don't forget. That wasn't like the first time they had done that and you could tell it did upset her.

That's how I feel about Bath Item - I didn't like the episode that much and the hug is the only thing that makes it memorable. So meh it doesn't get my vote. /shrug

When I recall that episode I tend to easily remember the bits I liked and forget the crap I did not like.

Been thinking all afternoon of things to talk about for Shamy, storyline ideas, things I want to see and things I don't want to see. But everything I think of hits a wall, the engagement decision wall.

That decision will shape the season. A yes and we get talk of wedding planning, possibly meeting Amy's family etc. A no and there could be tension for a number of episodes, we may not see anything to do with Amy's family, tension between them perhaps even having an impact on their science project storyline.

It really is a huge decision.

So SDCC what might we learn? Well I am expecting them to 'play a straight bat' it might be a yes it might be a no. But their talk on other storylines might give a clue to their thinking. For example if they mention Amy's family possibly being looked at then that to me suggests a yes is the likely option, I don't see much reason to introduce her family right now unless they are gearing up for a wedding. If they raise the flag convention again that might suggests Shamy might be in a good place going forward.

So what they say and also what they 'don't say' will be interesting.

Good catch! I think Molaro will be more "honest" than saying things like "It can go both ways", he will flat out saying, as every good "seller", that we have to turn our TV on on September 25th to actually know what happens. But  we can get some clues here and there about where this is going, by seeing what other plots are in store for Shamy. That unless  Molaro is  too slick for us and hence doesn't plan on giving info about Shamy at all  to not let us "infer" too much...

Not that I have any doubt about what Amy's answer will be, mind you, they made too much a big deal about how momentous as a milestone it was to think they can blow it and then have another proposal, if Amy says no, sometime in the future. Plus, and that's where I get a bit frustrated with Mayim's view on the show, it can't really go both way and still be fine. If Amy says "no" it should be because she is not convinced of Sheldon's motivations or angry for the Ramona's thing. In both cases, I don't think Sheldon might be ok with that...

Let's see what happens, as I said I'm very positive about the outcome of the proposal and, above all, very excited for SDCC, not only fro Shamy (in fact, as I said, I suspect we won't have too much info about them) but because it's fantastic to have most of the cast there!

If Mayim was saying it will be 'still be fine' with a no, because I am still in the show for two years then she is right from a working perspective. If she is saying 'a no and Shamy will be fine straight after it' then I cannot agree with her, I know enough about Sheldon and his character by now to know a no will not go down well at all and especially with the circumstances leading to it.

I'm fairly confident as well.

I am fairly confident too about Amy's answers to Sheldon proposal will be a "yes"!  The truth is a"no" in this level of shamy relationship would not fit to everything shamy envolved and grew together as persons and as a couple in s10. Besides , as Amy said "no" and Sheldon would get surely hurt with her as they could be broken up again would ruin everything and writers had proved they are proud of the work they had been doing with these characters and also they are aware that shamy is one of most shipped couples of the show. I believe a bit if drama could be in its way as we would wait until at least to the end of premiere episode for Amy's  answer. Overall I sense a teasing tone from writers for SDCC and to every interview the subject "proposal" could be brought up. They want us suffering from "tv show pre watching anxiety" until September 25, lol!

Regards SDCC I am very excited  as it will be my first online here with you all. I want to know everything writers could come up about all characters.  I am a shamy but also a fan of the show and it is so cool as we may be able to see the tv showrunners to talk about it, whatever it is about the past, present of the future hold for each of these characters.

Isnt Friday yet? :icon_cheesygrin:

Some things are better with some spontaneity.  But that's not Sheldon's strong suit.  Sheldon's over-thinking everything kind of throws that out the window, which means each of them has time to mess with their own heads over everything.

I would agree especially early in their relationship, but I think they are getting better at it.

Let's play, guys!

First I felt :yahoo:but then, when Amy didn't answer, I was like...:girlwerewolf:and also :banghead:

Well, first I felt :dancer: as we saw Sheldon's trip to Princeton,  then as Amy opened the door and Sheldon proposed I felt :girlglasses: . The tag scene ended and I was like:girlwerewolf:. Me in hiatus time as I think about the 50% chance of "no"   from Amy   :banghead:

Agree with what you guysmirs1,spidergirl &@djsurrey about Amy's answer, the writers & cast have all talked about how happy they were with the proposal scene and montage - they talked about it making them all so emotional etcetc - I really can't see them having her say anything but YES. Do I think they'll have a little drama/ Amy questions - yes , but I think she'll be a yes, possibly even before the questions ........at the point where Sheldon arrives at her door I see no reason at all for her to say no, at that point she doesn't know anything to give her pause, she may have a panic attack type scenario asapril suggested , followed by a chat - then a yes , but ultimately I really think she's a YES !!!!!!

Well we'll know very very soon eeeeeeekkkkkk !!!!!!!

Guys, we might not get an answer on 8/15. The past two season premieres have seen episodes taped out of order and secret scenes not taped in front of the audience. Sorry to harsh the buzz... hope I'm wrong. #LowExpectations

I was thinking the same about taping the premiere out of order. But then I realized that, even so, the guy in charge of warming up the audience gives some context of the things that are going to happen in the premiere, so the audience can understand what's going on (at least that happened last year). Plus, if the writers plan on Amy saying yes, she should wear her engagement ring in all the following episodes, so people at the taping have just to pay attention to this detail to understand. In the (very unlikely) case she might say no, she won't be wearing it and I can't imagine her negative answer not having a follow up, since that will create at least some tension between Shamy. I think last year they taped out of order because of the so many guest stars they got in the premiere, this year, as far as we know, there should not be such a crowded episode...Anyway, everything is possible.

As for "secret scenes", I think it's very unlikely, they should tape  all the Shamy scenes  without an audience to keep the secret, there way the episode goes for them strongly depends on Amy's reaction. Anyway, since I was in the forum I've always seen people expecting "secret scenes" as TBBT has done that thousands of times. Correct me if Im wrong, the only relevant "secret" scene I can remember is the "I wish you weren't going" Penny said in S. 2 finale, that really changed the meaning of the episode, apart that I don't think they have done that many other times.

Anyway, guys, full disclosure, I really really want the premiere to be taped on 8/15 for very selfish reason....I won't be able to be on the forum much in the week of 8/22 taping, so it would be a bummer to me to loose all the reactions to the premiere that for sure will happen here, LOL!

This whole post! ^^

It would be very difficult to disguise imo Amy's  answer for weeks if they want an exciting premiere taped out of order. And I think  @mirs1 is very right about the out of order what was s10 tapings concern as it was for questions related with guests avaiable time for tbbt at time.

Regards the bold part, I also really want the premiere to be taped on 8/15 for a very selfish reason... My anxiety, as I live all of this as shipper as if  shamy was really , hehe! My heart doesnt need three weeks of torture, LOL!
